Beauty and the Gargoyle (The Gargoyles of New York Book 2)

I sigh and lie back against the pillows. “I know. I wish we could. The library has been much safer with the double security. But they know who we are now, and they obviously watch us. They knew where we lived. They knew about Chrissy. We can’t let them use our Beloveds against us.”
I kiss her on the nose, and she tilts her head, offering her lips for a full kiss.
“Are we going to stay here, Rafe? Or do you guys have other places to live?”
I shrugged. “We have lots of properties around New York, but most of them are leased. We could contact some and ask them to leave, but I doubt Roman will want to do that. No, I think the safest thing would be to stay here for a while, then perhaps build new apartments with extra security, or buy new ones and fit them out with all the latest tech. We need to keep you and Chrissy safe.”
“And those men. What are you going to do about them?”
“We need to find them and stop them. Nate is a whizz at the internet so we’ll have to employ his skills. Hate groups always leave their mark. They look for new recruits online, and now that we know there’s more of them, it’s time to really stop them.”
“Yes, because you need to be safe, Rafe.”
Bella strokes my face, and I draw her into my body. I kiss her luscious lips, knowing full well that our battle was not yet over, but grateful that finally, after one hundred and twenty-five years, I have my Beloved by my side.
