The Dotty Dalmatian

Pippa wanted to say that it was a load of rubbish, that it was only Minx attention-seeking again, that things like were-dogs only existed in fairy tales. But she had seen the transformation for herself. So, for once, she didn’t say a thing.
Dash raised a doggy eyebrow at her. ‘Well, you know what they say: “Fact is stranger than fiction.” ’
Raphael sighed sadly. ‘I will miss de girl, you know,’ he said, looking at his feet.
‘You’re not the only one, dear,’ said Mrs Fudge.
Pippa coughed. ‘You haven’t forgotten about me, have you, Mrs Fudge?’
The old lady smiled. ‘Of course not.’
‘Only, I haven’t been allowed to do much in the salon recently – just make the tea and that, so could I please be allowed to do some clippety-clipping again?’ Pippa pleaded.
‘For pity’s sake, let her,’ said Dash. ‘If only to shut her up.’
Mrs Fudge burst out laughing. ‘All right,’ she said. ‘After all, what would I do without you, Pippa Peppercorn?’
This story was written by a lady called Anna Wilson. She lives in a town which is rather like Crumblyunder- Edge, where there is a hair salon a bit like Mrs Fudge’s: the ladies there are just as lovely as Mrs Fudge (although not as old) and they love to eat cake. Anna has two cats, Jet and Inky, who are quite like Muffles (except they are black), and a pooch called Kenna (who doesn’t actually like being pampered, unless it involves food). She also has three chickens who lay eggs that are perfect for cake-baking. Titch, one of the chickens, quite likes being pampered. Anna is thinking of setting up a Poultry Pampering Parlour just for her.
