  DISCOGRAPHY

THE following is a discography of all issued recordings. Unissued recordings made at the same time as issued recordings have usually been noted, but unissued radio performances have not been included, with the exception of the Mother’s Best shows, which were referenced in the text, and may soon be cleared for release.

The dates and the number of musicians employed on regular studio sessions were logged by Acuff-Rose on behalf of MGM. The exact personnel was researched by Bob Pinson and first published in The Complete Hank Williams on Mercury Records. Most nonsession recordings are undated and undatable.

  Note the following:

Hank Williams sings and plays acoustic guitar unless noted.

The composer is Hank Williams unless noted.

Many demos were overdubbed, often more than once. A complete schedule of overdub sessions can be found in The MGM Labels, a two-volume discography by Michel Ruppli and Ed Novitsky, published by Greenwood Press.

Only the first issue has been listed, unless the first issue was overdubbed, in which case the issue number cited below is the first undubbed issue.

The AFRS shows listed below are Grand Ole Opry shows transcribed by the Armed Forces Radio Service.
