Bear Mountain Baby: Shifter Romance (Bear Mountain Shifters)

“No.”
Olivia’s eyes flicked back to the woods.
What is he doing? she wondered. Why did he invite me out here only to ignore me?
Then it occurred to her that his invitation was to join him, not to talk.
Maybe this was his way of extending courtesy, just to show that he wasn’t completely against her being here.
This in mind, she took another small sip of wine, and looked into the forest. Silence hung over them, uncomfortable for Olivia at first, but she soon grew accustomed to it. Ian and Olivia stood this way for some time, looking off into the woods, the rising chill of the evening air nipping at their skin, wreathed in a communal silence.
***
A gentle moan slipped past Olivia's lips as she allowed the slivers of pleasure to run through her body. Her eyes closed, she stretched her arms out before resting them on the head of the man who was currently servicing her in a most intimate fashion. She grabbed onto the man’s hair, taking it into her hands before slipping her fingers through it, taking in the feeling of his soft tresses against her fingers.
She moaned again as the man’s pace increased. Aside from the sounds of pleasure escaping her mouth and the soft licking and kissing of the man’s tongue on her sex, the bedroom was still and quiet. The moonlight streamed in through the evening’s dark, casting the lovers in a ghostly, silver light.
Olivia gasped as the man slipped his finger inside of her, her pussy wet and slick, his finger gliding in with ease. He fingered her slowly at first, before increasing the pace and moving in and out of her at a steady rhythm. Olivia craned her neck to see the face of the man, to watch his tongue eagerly lap at her, but his hair hung in front of his face and lay draped on Olivia’s stomach.
A stomach—to her shock—that was flat and smooth.
She decided not to pay to attention to this strange development, instead letting the man do the work he was doing so well. Her body began to feel warm, her upper chest breaking out in a deep red blush. The pleasure from the man licking her began to build, and she knew that an orgasm wasn’t too far off.
“Don’t stop.” The words slipped out of her mouth as the man licked her. “Don’t stop.”
He increased the pace of his tongue on her, licking her quickly, alternating between quick teases with the tip of his tongue and full, slow presses with the surface of it. Each drag of his sort, warm tongue on her sent a new wave of pleasure coursing through her body.
Then it broke. Though she was expecting the orgasm, it still managed to take her by surprise. The hot pleasure burst through her body, her hips wracking, her slim legs tucking back into her torso.
“Oh God, oh God!” she cried.
He didn’t stop. The man continued to lick and finger her as she came, the pressure on her orgasm causing it to pound its way through her body. She savored every moment of it, only catching her breath as the man slowed down to a halt.
But she wanted more.
Slipping her fingers once again into the man’s thick, sandy blonde hair, she pulled him up towards her, ready to look into the eyes of the man who was bringing her such exquisite pleasure. And when the man looked up, tossing his hair out of his eyes as he climbed on top of her, Olivia let out a sharp gasp.
It was Ian.
No doubt about it. He looked upon her body with his sensual, narrow eyes, his full, thick lips curled upwards on one corner into a wicked smile. Her eyes scanned his body, his arms thick and strong, his stomach lean and cut, his shoulders rippling with muscle, his hairless chest cut beyond perfection. And down between his legs hung a long, thick cock, rock-hard and ready for her.
“Tell me you want it,” he said in a low, sensual voice. “Tell me how bad.”
“I want your cock so fucking bad,” she said, her voice heavy with anticipation, her mouth watering at the sight of his heavy manhood hanging so tantalizingly close to her.
That was all he needed to hear. Taking his cock by the shaft, he pointed it towards her. He placed the head of his prick on her lips, letting it rest there, letting the anticipation build to a fevered frenzy.
It was working. At that moment, Olivia couldn’t remember wanting anything more than she wanted Ian’s cock buried deep inside of her. And lucky for her, he was happy to oblige this desire.
Olivia let out a slow, almost pained moan as Ian entered her. He slid into her slowly, carefully, as if knowing from experience that a cock the size of his couldn’t simply be shoved into a woman. Olivia’s face tightened into a wince, the feeling of him filling her giving her such pleasure that she could hardly stand it. And she knew he was only just beginning. Once sheathed completely in her, Ian pulled his cock out, then pushed it back in, this time more quickly, the wetness of Olivia’s pussy allowing him to slide in deep and full.
Soon, his pace quickened, and he was plunging himself into her over and over, her breasts rippling with each impact of his hips against hers, her pink nipples hard with arousal, sweat beginning to sheen on her delicate skin. Olivia looked up at Ian with narrowed eyes, and she watched his gorgeous face tighten with concentration and ecstasy. His hair now tickled and teased her face as he fucked, the feeling delightful on her skin.
Olivia was in awe of the way his body looked. His muscles were cut from stone, his face from marble, his cock seemingly designed specifically to pleasure her, and her alone. She felt another orgasm build in her, the thought of Ian emptying himself deep within her bringing her nearly to the brink.
He pounded her harder and harder, the muscles of his arm working under the skin, sweat beginning to form on his face, his lips still wet with Olivia’s sex. Then, her orgasm came, and came harder than before. Olivia’s screams were loud and full, the pleasure almost too much to bear. Her toes and fingers clenched, her muscles tightened, and her eyes sealed shut. Any thought in her mind was blotted out by the pleasure running through her; it was unlike anything she’d felt before.
Then, Ian came. His muscles tightened he did, his face fixed into a tight expression of pleasure as he spent himself into her. His pace slowed as he slid in and out of her, his cock draining itself deep within her body. Olivia’s body felt like jelly, her limbs limp from her orgasm as Ian finished inside of her. When he was done, when he was completely drained, he stopped, his arms taut as he held himself over her, his cock still sheathed. Olivia looked up into his eyes as he gazed down at her, his expression of overwhelming pleasure now one of affection. He lowered himself onto her, kissing her hard and deep on the lips, his tongue running over hers.
With a heave, he moved to her side, collapsing on the bed beside her, their chests sweat-slicked, the moonlight reflecting on the moisture of their bodies as they caught their breath. Olivia’s eyes drifted to the window, to the play of the silver light of the moon in the trees, the soft blur of its light that surrounded its form in the night sky. She turned back towards Ian, to utter one sweet nothing or another, but when she lowered her hand onto where he lay, she touched nothing but the cool span of bed sheets.
And she realized she was now awake.
Looking down at her body, she saw that she was dressed, an oversized shirt stretched over the dome of her pregnant belly. She sighed with disappointment—a disappointment edged with concern. After all, why was she dreaming about Ian in this way? He was cool to her, impatient even, but the dream was proof that she was attracted to him, whether she wanted to feel that way or not.
Olivia decided to address these concerns later, choosing now to close her eyes, a smile on her face as she drifted back into sleep with a hope in her heart that these dreams would provide a sensual encore.
CHAPTER 5
“Push! Push!”
Tessa’s voice was commanding and firm as she yelled over Olivia's screams of pain. Olivia, Tessa, Melanie, and Winnie were in Olivia’s bedroom, the noon sun shining in through the window. Though the pain of the baby leaving her body was unbelievable, the thought that he wasn’t supposed to be coming this early was all she could think about
.
One moment she was in the kitchen, a glass of orange juice in her hand as Clyde prepared breakfast for the house. The next, her water broke, and she announced to those nearby that the baby was coming.
And coming it was.
She’d been in labor for hours, and now the baby was finally on his way out.
“Come on!” said Tessa. “You can do this!”
Tessa pushed hard, forcing the child from her.
“Come on! Almost!”
Tessa pushed again, the sheen of sweat on her forehead dripping down into her eyes, her hair dangling in front of her vision.
“There we go, I can see the head! One last puuush!”
Olivia pushed as hard as her worn-out body would allow, and soon the sound of a crying baby filled the modest quarters of the bedroom. The baby cried and cried, and Olivia watched with eager, almost desperate eyes as Tessa brought the wriggling, pink child up to her chest to look it over. Winnie snipped the cord, and Olivia could see that all was right with the child by the warm looks of motherly joy that were fixed upon the three women’s faces.
“He’s beautiful,” said Tessa.
He…thought Olivia.
Tessa walked around the bed, the baby in her arms. Olivia could see small, searching arms stretch from the blankets the boy was wrapped in.
“All his fingers and toes,” said Melanie.
Tessa lowered herself down, placing the baby boy in Olivia’s arms. Her heart tightened as she looked at the child; his skin was hot and pink, his eyes were big and blue, and his pudgy body squirmed in her arms.
As soon as she held him and looked into his eyes, his crying stopped. A calm peace settled on the room, no sounds to be heard but the gentle cooing of the baby and the soft breeze through the open window.
***
The crack of a gunshot cut through the air. Olivia, from her seat on the couch in the living room with the women of the home around her, looked up in shock.
“What was that?” she asked.
But the sound was unmistakable.
And it was followed by several more.
“Get the men,” said Tessa, rushing to her bedroom with Alexander in her arms.
Moments later she returned, the baby now safely tucked away in the bedroom. Engines revved in the distance, followed by the yelling of a group of men, followed by more gunshots into the air.
“Olivia, get Noah to the bedroom; it’s safe in there,” said Tessa, referring to Olivia’s boy by the name that she only recently decided on.
Olivia looked with worried, mother’s eyes into Noah’s. Unaffected by the sounds of danger, he continued to coo happily, just as he had been.
“There’s a gang of men out there,” said Atticus, arriving in the living room from the lower levels of the compound. “They’re armed.”
“Oh my God,” said Melanie. “Who are they?”
“I don’t know,” said Atticus. “The rest of the men and I are gonna check things out. But they don’t seem like the talking type.”
A sick feeling crept into Olivia’s stomach, as though she could sense that whatever was going on, it was about her.
Another gunshot sounded.
Olivia listened to the bustling of the men as they scrambled downstairs. Noah in her arms, she went to the second floor, to her bedroom, where the window there allowed her to look out onto the grounds where the sounds were coming from. And when she arrived, a sharp gasp slipped into her mouth.
It was Brody.
Brody and what looked to be five other men. A half-ring of cars were parked behind the group, and all of the men brandished rifles.
“Where is she?” called out Brody, his tall, stocky frame pacing back and forth, his voice ragged and wild. “I know she’s here!”
Olivia ducked behind the wall, hoping that Brody hadn’t spotted her. She cracked open the window, letting the sounds of the men outside flood into the room.
“Get your ass out here, Olivia! Right now!”
She stole another peek, seeing the men gathered around Brody. Then, all of the Swift brothers, with a few other men from the compound grounds, approached the fence. Olivia gasped, fearful that she was putting these men in danger.
“What’s the problem here, friend?” asked Atticus, approaching the group, the tall steel of the fence between them.
“Who the fuck are you?” spit Brody. “I’m here for Olivia! I’m here for my kid!”
“Now, now,” said Atticus. “Kinda rude of you all to just show up uninvited, shooting guns into the sky.”
“Kinda rude of you assholes to steal my woman and my baby!”
Olivia began to quake with fear. She knew Brody, she knew what kind of man he was. The Swift brothers looked like they could handle themselves, but Brody and his flunkies were killers; they’d put a bullet in Atticus and the rest without a second thought. She shut the window, taking one final peek at the two groups face down one another.
Tucking Noah into his crib, she knew what she had to do; she wasn’t going to let this family be at risk for her.
“What are you doing?” said Winnie as Olivia marched through the living room.
“Putting a stop to this before it goes any further.”
“You can’t go out there!” said Melanie.
But Olivia continued on anyway, going down to the lower floors, then out the garage door.
The eyes of the men snapped onto her as soon as she arrived.
“Get back in there,” said Atticus. “This is no place for a woman.”
“There you are!” yelled Brody, his rugged face twisted in anger, the red of his face offset by the black of his close-shaved head. “You get the fuck over here right now before I do something we’re gonna regret.”
Olivia walked slowly towards the gate, the eyes of the men on her.
“You should really stay back,” said Roland, his voice calm and stern.
“Wait, where the fuck’s my kid?” called Brody, his voice bristling with rage. “Bring out my child!”
“No,” said Olivia. “Not until you promise me that he won’t be harmed.”
“Fine! Whatever!” called Brody. “Just get your ass over here!”
“Olivia, you don’t have to do this,” said Atticus, his voice careful, as though talking to a woman about to jump from a window. “We’ll keep you safe here. You and Noah.”
“Someone shut him up!” said Brody.
Then, as Olivia made her way to the fence, as she stepped away from the only safe place she knew, another shot rang out. It was a thin ping, like a pebble whipped at an empty paint can. The bullet whizzed through the air, slamming into the side of the compound inches away from Olivia’s bedroom window.
It was close to Noah. Too close.
Atticus whipped his head around the see the damage, his eyes wide at the idea that someone would fire at his home.
“I was willing to be nice, but that tears it,” he said, his normally cool voice now lined with anger. “You leave now, or you won’t like what happens.”
Brody let out a maniacal laugh; Olivia could tell he was high on one drug or another.
“Or what? We’re armed, you’re not, you goddamn hicks.”
“Last chance,” said Atticus.
A moment passed.
“Fuck you,” said Brody.
“Suit yourself.”
Atticus approached the gate controls, typed in a sequence of numbers, and stepped away as the gate groaned and clanked open.
Stepping forward, Atticus drew close to Brody.
“On my command, boys,” he said.
The rest of the men nodded in understanding.
“What the hell is this?” demanded Brody.
What Olivia saw next, she’d never forget.
Atticus yelled as his body grew bigger. His clothes ripped over his expanding frame, brown patches of fur covering his skin. His body continued to grow as his clothes were torn to shreds, his shape changing from that of a human man to…something else. His yelling cha
nged too, the pitch shifting from that of a man to the roar of a beast. His body grew bulkier, the hard angles of his physique changing to something rounder, furrier. His snout grew from his face, and his hands and feet shifted to fearsome claws.
Olivia gasped when she saw what had happened. Atticus, and the rest of the men, had changed from men to bears.
“What the fuck!” shouted Brody. “Shoot them!”
The men opened fire on the pack of bears, the bears responding by thundering towards the men, the bullets seeming to have no effect. Atticus swiped a paw and one of the men launched from where he stood and collided with a sickening crack against a nearby tree. Ian pounced on another man, the weight of his bear form crushing the man beneath his paws.
Brody soon realized that he was no match for these fearsome beasts.
“Get the fuck out of here, now!”
Brody and his men fled, climbing into their cars and peeling off into the woods, their tires kicking up dust that hung in the air as they drove off over the unpaved road that led to the compound.
Olivia stood in shock, her eyes darting from bear to bear as they turned to face her, her stomach boiling with fear.
This can’t be, she thought. What the hell is happening?
But before she could attempt to answer her own question, blackness crept in from the corners of her eyes, and she collapsed into unconsciousness.
CHAPTER 6
“Take it easy there, little lady.” Atticus’s voice was as calm as always.
Olivia struggled to open her eyes. When she finally managed to pull them open, her vision was blurry. She could, however, make out that, just like when she awoke her first day at the compound, she was surrounded by blurry figures.
Her vision cleared over the next few seconds, and she could see that the Swift men and their wives were standing around her. Ian, just as before, was standing away from the group, near the window.
Then, the events that had just transpired flooded back into her mind. Brody, the bears, the gunshots, the sound of the man’s body as it cracked against the tree.
