As he pulled away, she placed a palm against his cheek and pulled his face toward hers, giving him a full, proper kiss on the lips. Instinctively, their eyes closed at the same time, and they breathed each other in. The kiss was soft and tender, and there was no need for anymore words. All was forgiven.
Alex made the appropriate gagging noises, rolling his eyes and telling them to cut it out already.
Imogen smiled and licked her lips, tasting Cameron one more time before she looked up at him and spoke.
"We need a few more helpers today if you're interested."
"Oh?" He cleared his throat and blinked, trying to get his sight back to normal. For a second there it was blurred.
"Only if you want to, though."
Cameron shook his head in mock disbelief. "Imogen, where the hell else am I supposed to go right now?"
Imogen smiled, ducking her head in slight embarrassment. "Well then, I guess that means I'm putting you to work." Her gaze went to Alex. "Both of you."
"Hey, I'm all set," Alex said, waving them off and making his way back toward the building site with his shovel. Imogen and Cameron followed, and Imogen handed Cameron the hammer she'd been using previously.
Then, they began to build. Together.
