I didn’t mention to my roommate or anyone else on my floor that I was dating Logan. I wanted to find out who liked me for me, and not for who my boyfriend was.
The Red Sox played a home game a few days after school started, and everyone on my floor decided to go. Even though I wasn’t into sports, I figured it would give me some bonding time with my new friends, and something to talk to Logan about the next time he called.
As I got ready to leave for the game, I heard my roommate stutter.
“Umm, uh...”
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
I turned around from my mirror and saw Logan’s smiling face peering through the door. My body froze. I’m pretty sure my heart stopped for at least five seconds too.
“Oh my God!” I screamed, dropping my hair brush to the ground. I ran and jumped into his arms, wrapping my body tightly around his.
The entire floor rushed down the hall to my room. I heard their whispers -- they couldn’t believe who was standing in their presence. I wouldn’t believe it either if a celebrity suddenly appeared in my dorm.
He kissed me and set me back down on the ground, handing me flowers.
“Surprise!”
I couldn’t get the words out of my mouth to respond, so I threw my arms around him again, and squeezed even harder.
I pulled back and smiled up at him. “I can’t believe you’re actually here.”
He swept his hair back through his fingers and laughed, ignoring all of the spectators gathered in the hall.
“I told you I’d visit often,” he said, leaning down to kiss me again. “And I told you I’d take you to a Red Sox game.”
“You’re a man of your word,” I said, intertwining my fingers with his.
At that moment I didn’t care if my floormates knew who I was dating, and I didn’t care if they liked me better or worse for it. All that mattered was that I was with my wonderful, loving, hot as hell, rockstar boyfriend.
