"No mom." Foxy replied, "This is not for them. It’s for me. I will always love you. But being the goddess of the Vixens is not the answer, at least not right now. Are you aware of the fact that I've never left this island my whole entire life? I need to see what the world has to offer. Come on mama, you have to let me do this."
She let go of Pattys tail. Patty still remained on the ground. She thought for a moment and said,
"I've been so selfish... I've been worried about my legacy that I shut out what my own daughters dreams. Forgive me baby." She gave her daughter a hug. She did some magic to make everyone feel fine and spell free. She then told Foxy. "The real key is on your necklace." Foxy never knew that. She was stunned, she could've escaped a long time ago.
"But How? Why?" she asked.
"Because that's the last place anyone would look." answered Patty.
"Good point.” said Foxy.
"Ok well we need to go then.” said Buzzy as he cut in the conversation. The mother and daughter agreed.
“ I will give you one year to rock out, but if there is no difference in you, I will find you and bring you back. You still have a job to do as the heir to the throne.” said Patty. Foxy agreed to a certain extent. They hugged each other one last time. Then the heroes hopped on the train then chugged off leaving the mother. Pretty Face Patricia waved goodbye as they left.
As they were on the train, Snax had to let something be known.
"Ok as of now, no more stragglers tagging along. Team Lock!! This is the starting five.” he then turned to Foxy, "Isn't that right my love? You are the last girl I’ll ever need."
"Stop it!" she yelled, "Does this jive turkey always act like this?"
The train left the tunnel and went into a beautiful underwater surrounding. They could see the sunshine from under the ocean. Now Buzzy could get on with his original plan, to find the treasures to take out MC Crispy.
Moral: Go for your dreams no matter what anyone says.
Chapter Five
Beyond the Vanishing Light
Buzzy
All I could think was,
“Holy crap! A month? Man, I have to do better. I can't let the Grandmaster down. I’m screwing things up. He’s a rag doll and I was out there partying like there was no tomorrow. I’m surprised I actually have a crew right now. I never had one before. It’s always been just me. Fearless has not only been my dad but he was my only real friend. I guess this was what he meant when he said I’d never be alone. But what’s the real measure of me not being alone anyway? They are easily impressed by any old thing I do. Do they think they were going to get famous hanging around me? Is it because I spin on the radio? Were they really going to be around when things got dangerous? (Sigh) Calm down, Buzzy you are overthinking here…don’t show fear or panic. That’s what Fearless said. I needed to look after them as their leader; they’re looking for me to guide them on this grand adventure. They see all this “potential” in me and view me as some hero. But honestly, I don’t see it. I’ll never be as good as the Grandmaster. Plus deep down I’m freaked out by all of this. I’m not ready to take on an evil Rap God. I just wanted to spin records at the tower. I’m not ready, I’m just not ready. Hopefully things will work out in the end but I can’t show fear.”
The train stopped, in darkness. My stomach finally stopped hurting from that kick to the stomach. It looked like we were in an abandoned subway station. I couldn't believe this place still worked, it was so old and decrypted. Nothing but the train was working and no lights working at all. Not even a flicker. The doors opened. I couldn’t see a thing beyond those doors. So I clicked on the night vision mode in my shades to see in the dark. Now I could see what was coming. I’m not sure how we would’ve gotten out of the diner without them.
“If you got flashlights, take them out now and follow me.” I said as I walked off the train. I felt the warmness of light hitting behind me. I knew it was them.
“Hey Buzzy,” said Snax, “do you know where we’re going?”
“No clue, homie.” I answered, “Just have my back if something goes down.”
“We gotcha!” said Terry. Suddenly I heard footsteps running deep in the darkness. My heart dropped, and then it pounded,
boom boom tap boom boom
Honey gasped.
“What was that?” asked Foxy.
“I’ll protect you.” said Snax. He leaped to her side and held her hand. She then snatched her hand away.
“Chill guys.” I demanded. I was trying to get a sense of what was going on but I couldn’t because of all the bickering. It was a rocky start for us but I was more than sure we could get past that. My sensors in my shades should bring up some kind of image. I looked left, I looked right, I looked up then I looked down…. I was right! It was him standing right in front of me. Long dreadlocks, no shirt, damaged jeans, no shoes, pointy ears and green skin. It was The Goblin, god of the goons.
“What do you see Buzzy?” asked Honey? I couldn’t stop focusing on him. He then pulled from his side, the headphones of the beyond. He placed them over his ears and smiled with his gold teeth. I could tell he was taunting me. He then pointed to my right and there was a door of light. It looked like the sun beyond that door. I looked back toward the goblin and he was gone. I then answered,
“I found the way out of here. Follow me.” I don’t know what he’s up to but I do know he plays around with goons and creepers. The Grandmaster told me stories about The Goblin, about the way he devours souls and use them to do his bidding. But no matter what, I did know one thing for certain; he was giving me those headphones. We made it out and saw the outside world. The sun was still setting. The buildings were very gothic. They were crawling with stoned gargoyles. It was so peaceful, but yet… so empty, so lonely, so quiet, so…dead silent.
“Woah! Where are we?” asked Foxy. I whipped out my GPS and switched it on, it showed a holographic map and it pointed out where we were. It showed that we were in Ruin Town. It was a city that was built on top of pyramids, full of hills, and full of mist. It was once a thriving city full of kings and queens and philosophers and was once the strongest city of the last century. Legend has it that once the Goblin came from nowhere and made a deal with the Kings and he slowly turned it into the wasteland that it is today. Once the Goblin became a god, he stopped caring for it and protecting it. His way of living was very sloppy in my opinion. We then heard a lady yelling from the window. We looked up and the first thing we noticed was that she was blind.
“Hey! You kids had better get off of the streets. It’s almost nightfall. Crazy things tend to happen at nightfall.” I turned to the crew.
“Come on guys.” We pushed forward.
“Hey, do you even know where we’re going?” asked Honey. Ugh…here we go again with this mess. Why was she always on my back? She really needed to learn to go with the flow. I don’t know what it is about her. She’s forever militant, constantly wanted answers, and constantly needed a plan or some kind of order to do things. I guess I better give her some kind of answer.
“The Grandmaster told me that the god of the goons is located in a church. His headphones are there. That’s where we’re going.” I thought hopefully that would’ve pacified her. But of course it didn’t.
“I know that, big head. But do you know where it is?” She snatched my GPS from me. Her boldness knew no bounds, I swear. However, she looked around on the map and found a location. Ok I admit that she was smarter than usual. Probably because of that third eye she got. It’s so creepy when it opens. So we headed down the blocks following the directions on the GPS cracking jokes along the way. Snax was recording the documentary asking questions.
“So Foxy, how does it feel to be beautiful?” he asked her.
“Quit acting so thirsty, Snax.” She responded pushing the camera away.
“Hey watch it baby, this cost too much money.” he snapped. He moved on to Terry,
“Hey kick a freesty
le T.”
“This Tiger is saving it for something real,” said Terry with a smirk, “once it happens, you’ll see what the hot fire tiger is all about.” I noticed the streetlights came on. I couldn’t see the sun anymore. I looked at my watch and it was 9:20 PM. That fast? What the heck? We heard a growl behind us. A green, pointy eared troll looking figure limped toward us.
“What the heck is that thing?” asked Terry.
“I think it’s a goon.” I said. Snax jumped with his camera trying to zoom in on the scene.
“Look, he brought friends with him.” he shouted. I looked around. More came out of trashcans, windows, sewers and dark alleys.
“We gotta get out of here!” I yelled, “Run!!”
We hit the bricks. The goons started chasing us. I saw the church further down the hill. It was destroyed but it was the only thing with lights. I had to form a plan. I figure if I hold them off, it could be a clear run for the place. I stopped running as I told them to keep going. I turned around toward the pack of angry goons and yelled, “Amplify!!” the ground cracked as I planted my feet on the ground. One of the goons tripped over the crack. I charged five explosive powers discs and threw them into the crowd. They exploded as the goons went flying into the air. I thought that would be enough. But no, the sound of the explosion attracted more. I went back to running. One grabbed my arm; I hit him with my other elbow. One jumped on my back. I flipped him over before he could have a good grip on me. Three more appeared in front of me. I hopped over all three of them. I hit a forward roll the got back on my feet. I made it down the hill to the rest of the guys. The door was open. Once we made it inside, I yelled,
“Close the door!” the doors were heavy and the scraped the floor. The monsters were racing down the hill. We had to push harder. We managed to close door by the time they made it to us. Foxy locked the door.
“Whew, that was a close one.” she exclaimed.
“Girl, you can say that again.” Honey replied. I looked around at the church ground there were hooded monks sitting in along every seat in every isle, praying in whispers to Lord Goblin. I look toward the front and it was the Goblin sprawled out on his throne. We walked toward him as he spoke.
“I knew you would come. But my question is why are you here, bug?”
“You and I both know why I’m here. You saw us in the subway station.” I answered as I made it to his throne.
“I want to hear you say it, bug.”
“Seriously?” I responded as I had to keep my poise, “The headphones; I’m here for the headphones. Are you going to give them up or not?”
“Give them to you?” he snapped back, “Who do you think you are? Grandmaster Fearless? You’re going to have to prove yourself for these. You have to defeat this god. And not to mention, MC Crispy wanted me to make sure that you are squashed in a box. I heard you are Fearless’s apprentice. I honestly never liked the guy. And you’re nothing without him behind you. You Buzzy, are just another measly bug in my holy cathedral infesting it with your band of rodents.” That was shots fired. I had to shoot back now.
“Ok first off, I’m not gonna take too many more bug comments. And secondly your place is already a dump. You didn’t need our help for that. ”
The goblin laughed as he snapped his fingers and his guitar appeared in thin air. He started playing that deep metal bass.

The praying monks removed their robes, more goons appeared angrier than ever. It was like they were manipulated by the sound of that guitar. We were surrounded. The only chance we had was to make a way to the front door. The Goblin noticed Foxy,
“Hey, you’re the Vixens daughter right? How about you be my dark queen. I heard about you play guitar. Lose these riff raffs and get with a class act like myself.”
“Not on your life!” Foxy responded as she touched my shoulder, “I’m with The Spinner Supreme. He’s more legendary than you’ll ever be.”
I drew up bass from his heart. It transferred it to my hands, I aimed and blasted the door apart. We bolted toward the door.
“Get those scumbags!” yelled the Goblin, “They destroyed my door!” he started playing harder so the whole city could hear.
As we were running, the goons were on our heels! We managed to make it into some apartment building. We ran in and broke into apartment number A-1.
“Lock the door!” I yelled. We all had a sigh of relief. That relief was then replaced by irritation.
“I can’t believe we ran away like some suckers.” said Terry, “I’m tired of all of this running. When are we going to take it to them?”
“As soon as we form a plan, Terry.” I responded.
“Well you better think of something, Buzzy. Because I am a battle rapping champion not a coward. I thought you were on the same page as me, that’s why I joined this stupid team. But if this is what we’re about then count me out. This would’ve been different if I was top cat.”
“Just like a tiger to want to dominate like a gorilla,” I responded, “That’s why you’re the muscle. Let me do the thinking. Lets not forget who got you out of that arena.” Terry roared at me,
“Well grow some bolts, Buzzy! I bet you’ve never had a real fight in your life. That’s the difference between you and me. I’m all about that action and you’re not. Last time I’ve seen you, you were playing with oval shapes in the orphanage. Oh yeah, I remember you. Meanwhile, I was handling my business in the schoolyard taking down anyone who pulled my tail. But you wouldn’t know about that would you? All you did was keep your head down and mind your own business. Well guess what, if you don’t show some action, then I will.”
Whoa! Where did that come from? I didn’t realize that he was in the orphanage with me. What if he was right? What if I wasn’t able to lead? No… no, this was a test. I had to answer his call. All Terry knew was battles, annihilating next the person in front of him. I had to make him realize that he was free. As strong as he is, I saw that he was still a slave in his mind. Even though he did strike a nerve with me, and I could fight him and win in an argument to prove him wrong, or in a physical fight, I still need his energy for the fight ahead.
“Look Terry, I need you to trust me. I just need you to be patient. If you give me some time, I promise not only will you crack some heads, but we will also be unbeatable. Right guys?” I placed my hand on his shoulder. Foxy, Honey and Snax backed me up on my statement. Suddenly, we heard another voice in the dark room,
“I told you to be inside before it got dark.” It was the old lady from earlier. Now that I got a good look at her, she was a goon too. She reached for a lever that was on the wall.
“Hey lady, how about you don’t do that. Seriously, we can leave.”
“And go out there? Are you crazy?” replied Honey.
“Shut your face, Honey.” I responded. I turned back to the lady, “Look don’t do it.” She started teasing us touching the lever, caressing the lever, walking her two fingers across the lever. It just scared us all,
“NO!” we cried, “Stop!!” we yelled. But of course, she pulled it. We dropped through the trapped floor to and even darker room. We landed piled on each other. Suddenly, some lights came on. Its been awhile since we seen some bright lights so we all were blind. Surrounding us again were more goons.
“Aww C’mon!” Snax yelled. But something was different about them. They seemed more militant then the ones outside. We got up ready for anything.
“Lets get them!” yelled Terry. I grabbed him,
“Wait!” I yelled.
“OMG!” Terry cried, “What are we waiting for now?”
“The order.” I answered.
“Very good Buzzy,” said a voice from the crowd, “Fearless has taught you well.”
“Who are you?” Terry yelled, “Show yourself.” Suddenly, a goon leaped from above landing in front of us. This goon had an eye patch and a few more battle sca
rs.
“Call me Talen,” he answered, “We are what’s left of the military, the resistance to stop the Goblin.”
“Wait so you’re against the Goblin too?” said Honey.
“Yes,” said Talen, “we are trying to stop the Goblin but his control over the headphones and the guitar makes it a bad combination. We’ve lost our brothers and sisters to his metal music. It gets into our heads and changes us into beasts for his army. The only way for us not to be consumed by his power is to be underground. We infiltrate and attack his church by day. But so far, no such luck. We’ve been trying to take the power back from this guy for months. But when I’ve received word that you were in town, Buzzy, I knew we had a fighting chance. I’ve heard about your Grandmaster. We are sorry for your loss.”
“Well we are working on getting him back.” I answered, “But in order to do that, I need those headphones. How about you and I help each other out? Lets say, I get the headphones, and you get your city back. What do you say?”
“I couldn’t have said it better myself.” Talen answered. We then gave each other dap. He then led us to their war room.
“Ok so the matter at hand is that we need to draw out the Goblin and his goons.” Talen presented, “But how can we do that and guarantee our safety? His guitar will turn us into maniacs and we’ll lose ourselves and just be another soulless animal in his army. His guitar is unimaginably strong.” he then noticed Snax recording everything. “Seriously, whats up with your dog and this camera?”
“Its cool, he’s recording our journey.” I answered, “But I can solve your problem. Leave his guitar to us.”
“And how are you going to do that?” asked Talen. I told him to stand back. I opened my hand and a wave of music grew out of my hand like a flame. I balled it back in my hand and the music stopped. A few of the good goons heard it from outside the war room.
“What was that?” one said.
“It was the roar of a demon.” Another answered.
