After the Storm

If I made a list of all the people who mean something to me, we’d be here forever. So, instead of a never ending roll call, I want to thank my family and friends for keeping me grounded, encouraging me, being a sounding board and a shoulder to cry on. Life is a roller coaster ride and I am so lucky to have so many hand-holders in my corner.
Indie Chicks Rock girls—I don’t even know where to start. We’ve come a long way and grown a bit since the beginning. Today, I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished as a strong, smart, creative, innovative and supportive group of women. Who runs the world? GIRLS! We got this, ladies. I love you all.
BA Wolfe, Elisabeth Grace, Livia Jamerlan and RE Hunter—my A Team. We talk all day everyday so there’s really not much to say that hasn’t already been confessed, but I need you to know that without you, days would be boring, my sanity would be dangling by a thread, and my phone battery would be forever full. I love you girls forever and always.
My Gotta Have Faith group—I come to you first on all things. You make me smile, you warm my heart, you breathe encouragement and support into my lungs when I fear it’s lost for good. Thank you for being the coolest group of peeps around and for supporting all my quirky obsessions like Man Buns and Sons of Anarchy. Never change!!! I love you all! Oh, and I promised I’d mention you if your suggestion was chosen for Willow and Noah’s King Charles Cavalier puppies. Thank you Jennifer Singh for naming Bolt and Susan Caputo Finan for naming Shadow.
An author would be nothing without an amazing team of betas. Girls, your help on this project is so appreciated words can’t possibly do it justice. Thank you for all your oos and ahhs, but more importantly for telling me what didn’t work and what needed some TLC. Collaboratively, we made this a book I am so proud of.
Special thanks to: Stephanie Rose—you took time out of your writing schedule to make sure I did Noah lovers proud. You pushed me, schooled me, and kept me in check because you were a Man of My Dreams supporter and knew my characters as well as I did. Thank you for your ability to “get me.” I love that we’re in this together. Trish Mint—I hold your opinion in the highest regard. You are one of the most passionate readers I have ever met so when I sit down to create my own story, I need you in my corner. Thank you for steering me in the right direction and even though we didn’t exactly see eye to eye on this one, I appreciate everything you did to help me keep it real and do my best. Meredith Lynn Patton—what the hell would I have done without you? I know I should be talking about your insane beta skills, but what stick out most are the kick-ass friendship and bond we created over this book. The connection was instant and it’s something that I hope will last a lifetime. I love you, chica. I hope you’re okay to deal with me for many years to come.
It takes an army of amazingness to get any book off the ground and my army rocks something fierce. Najla Qambers, the cover you created is beyond perfect. You need almost zero direction when it comes to giving me exactly what I want. Thank you for being so easy to work with and for being a creative genius. Brenda Letendre, I’ve always said our relationship goes far beyond the editing front. You are such a role model to me, book Mom. Thank you for making my words better and for teaching me so much along the way. Having you in my life is a true blessing. One day I’ll get to meet you in person and hug the life out of you. Until then, I’ll settle for what I can get through texts and PMs. Shawna Gavas, you’re not just a proofreader extraordinaire but someone I’m happy to call a friend. I’ve loved getting to meet and “chill” with you this year at signings. El has an incredible PA and BFF and since she’s one of my life long biffles, you’re stuck with me too. Thank you for your keen eyes—it made all the difference in the world having you handle my baby with care. Christine Borgford of Perfectly Publishable—and another one bites the dust, effortlessly. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this industry. Words may make the story, but you make them pretty and that matters just as much to me. You never give me a reason to doubt that it would get done ahead of time and without one single hiccup. Thanks for making my life easier. Sassy Savvy Fabulous PR—thank you yet again for putting together a wonderful reveal and blitz! It’s such a relief to know I have an incredible and knowledgeable team backing me up.
How can I not give props to the Indie Chicks Rockin’ Readers group? A few of us had an idea to get this thing rolling. It took off and has sometimes proved to be the highlight of my day. Every single member of that group is a godsend to the authors involved. You are our audience, the readers who keep us writing, who motivate us, who give us that reason not to give up. Thank you for supporting us so selflessly and enthusiastically. You help us keep our faith in the book community.
To all the selfless and hardworking bloggers for supporting me and other indie authors. Years ago self-publishing wasn’t an option, today we have a forum thanks to you. I sincerely appreciate every single FB post or share, tweet, or blog post that you’ve dedicated to me.
Lastly, I must thank my amazing readers for keeping me afloat. As an avid reader with a TBR list at least a mile long, I know how hard it is to narrow down a book choice. Thank you from the depths of my being for choosing this book. Maybe you read Man of My Dreams and were Team Noah from the start. Maybe you happened across my reveal or blitz and one clicked thanks to one of the incredible blogs out there. Maybe you read the blurb and decided this was the book for you. Whatever landed you here, thank you! I enjoy your messages and emails more than you can imagine. To touch even one person with my words is a lifelong dream come true. Thank you for giving Faith Andrews a chance and for giving me a reason to continue bringing you my happily ever afters.
As I sit here writing this, I’m away on vacation with my family in Long Beach Island, New Jersey. I mention this because one of the reasons I had Noah and Willow return “home” was to shed light on the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. It is with immense pride and admiration for all involved with efforts such as Restore the Shore that I say Jersey is most certainly strong! For those who didn’t share such a fortunate outcome, my heart goes out to you. My hometown of Staten Island was devastated by the storm, but three years later we’ve found a way to overcome.
To stay in the know for updates and what’s to come, make sure you subscribe to my newsletter and follow my Facebook page. I’m always game for meeting new people and making new friends.
XO, Faith
