Without blinking an eye, the waiter inclined his head and simply said, “Yes, sir.”

As the waiter walked toward the door, Edward looked at Mason, “You’ve had too much soda already this evening. It’s not good for little boys.”

Mason’s cock jerked in his pants and a small moan escaped before he could get himself under control again. God, he hoped there wasn’t going to be a wet spot on the front of his pants. Listening to Edward in his deep voice call Mason his boy and then little boy was hotter than Mason ever thought it would be.

A big part of him never really expected to have that moment when a man called Mason his boy. Having a sexy, sweet, man who wanted to not only claim Mason as his but who didn’t feel the need to hide it was more than he ever expected.

It wasn’t like Edward was shouting it from the rooftops and embarrassing them both. No, this was private and exclusive enough that the waiters knew how to be discreet, but still, it was unexpected and unbelievably hot.

“Yes…” Was he ready to call Edward daddy? Sir just didn’t feel right. It wasn’t personal enough, and even though they hadn’t known each other that long, there was more to their relationship than a simple sir would imply. They had a long way to go before he would be confident that the relationship would last but for right now there was only one response he could give.

  “Yes, Daddy.”

A small smile touched Edward’s lips but he quickly pushed it away and looked down at Mason’s plate. “Don’t let your food get cold.”

Mason looked down at his plate. Part of him wanted to thank Edward for cutting his food, but then he started second guessing himself. Would that be weird? How was he supposed to respond? Indecision taking over, Mason managed a quick embarrassed “thanks” before he picked up his fork and started eating.

They spent several minutes in silence eating the incredible dinner before the waiter came back in. He wasn’t as confident as before, his walk was slower and Mason could see the indecision showing on his face. Had they made the poor guy that nervous?

Mason started to feel bad, but as he looked at the tray in the waiter’s hand, he froze. On the tray were two tall glasses, one of water and the other milk. But there was also one smaller cup, clearly a child’s cup, with cartoon characters on the sides and a plastic top with a straw. It was something Mason would have picked out for himself if he knew no one would find out.

Not sure what to do, he simply looked at Edward and pleaded with his eyes. He didn’t want to have to ask for the cup but he didn’t want to send it away. God, don’t let Edward ask him if he wanted the cup.

Edward had a guarded look on his face as the waiter approached the table. Thanking the waiter as he set the new glass of water in front of Edward, the waiter simply cocked his head slightly and looked down at the cups still on the tray.

Clearly asking which one to give Mason, the waiter seemed to be doing his best to be discreet. The poor guy was clearly trying to accommodate his customers but this had to be new territory for the waiter.

Giving a pointed look to the kiddie cup, Edward gave him a small nod. A barely noticeable sigh escaped the waiter as his shoulders relaxed. Taking the drink off the tray, he set the kiddie cup in front of Mason.

“Is there anything else I can bring you, sir? Would you like to look at the dessert menu?”

“No, I don’t think that will be necessary. Boy, chocolate cake or cheesecake?”

That was the easiest thing Edward had asked all night. Mason tried to ignore the thrill that raced through him when Edward called him Boy, but it was hard. “Chocolate, please.” He couldn’t bring himself to add Daddy in front of the waiter but he hoped Edward understood.

“One piece of the chocolate mousse cake, if you would, please.”

  “Yes, sir.”

Looking down at his cup after the waiter left, Mason couldn’t help the blush that flooded his face. It was silly and most people wouldn’t understand but just knowing that Edward not only didn’t mind Mason’s kink, but that he actively embraced it gave him a confidence about his desires that he’d never felt. He had Maddy’s support for years and she’d given him a lot of strength but it was completely different with Edward.

He took small sips from the cup, wanting to make it last. Drawing things out was stupid, but Mason just wasn’t ready for dinner to be over yet. Sneaking peeks up at Edward, Mason could tell that something turned him on. It could have been anything but Mason loved knowing Edward was as turned on as he was.

They finished their meal and made more small talk. Mason liked hearing about Edward’s firm and about his partner who’d given him the gift certificate to the dating service. They had different tastes in music, but both liked documentaries over most of the typical shows on television.

He had been surprised to discover that Edward had a thing for British comedies. Edward tried to downplay it but Mason got a sneaking feeling that it was more of an obsession than simple interest.

Something about the formal way Edward admitted to the preference made Mason suspicious. It wasn’t his thing, but Mason wouldn’t mind sitting through dry British humor if it meant cuddling up with Edward.

When the waiter came back with their dessert, they were both more relaxed. Mason was still hard as a rock, but his nerves were no longer going crazy. The waiter placed the cake, with two spoons on the plate, in front of Edward and then set another kiddie cup of milk in front of Mason. He blushed, but thanked the waiter.

The man then looked to Edward and said to take his time, that he would be back to check on them shortly.

Edward just looked up and with a firm stare. “We won’t need anything for a while. Thank you, though.”

An understanding look passed over the waiter and he simply nodded. “Yes, sir.”

Edward waited until the waiter left the room before looking at Mason, “The best way to share this will be for you to come over here, Boy. You can sit with me.”

It sounded completely logical when Edward said it, but Mason knew sharing the cake had nothing to do with it. Pushing away, Mason stood and walked around the small table. Edward scooted back just enough to make room for Mason. It was obvious what Edward wanted. Mason wanted it too, but he couldn’t quite make his body cooperate.

Standing beside Edward, staring down at his lap, Mason took several deep breaths before he glanced up at him. Silently pleading for help, Mason looked down at Edward’s lap again. Edward must have understood because he smiled insightfully and reached for Mason.

Turning him slightly, Edward carefully pulled Mason down on his lap. Mason sat stiffly, not sure where to put his hands or what to do. In his fantasies, there had never been this awkward moment of not knowing what to do.

Fantasy Mason was confident in his submission to his daddy and cuddled right up without even thinking about it. Real life was harder. It didn’t matter that he desperately wanted to lean into Edward—the fear of what he might say kept Mason on edge.

Edward ran a hand up and down Mason’s back as his other hand reached out to take Mason’s hands. “If you don’t want to do this you can go back to your seat. I promise. I will not be mad. We will simply talk about it and set clear boundaries for the future.”

His words were more casual now than when they’d first sat down but they still had that formal edge that showed his nerves. Just knowing Edward was as anxious about this as he was made Mason feel better. He wanted this and he wasn’t going to let doubts push him away.

“No, it's fine. Just kinda weird. Not bad weird. Just different.”

“Not bad weird?” The laughter in Edward’s voice had Mason smiling.

  “Nope, not bad weird.”

“I’m to assume that different is good then?”

Mason leaned into Edward’s chest and rested his head on Edward’s shoulder. The warm muscles bunched and twitched, but Edward didn’t push him away. “In this case, yeah. It’s good.”

  “I’m glad, then.”

Taking one of the spoons, Edward brought a pie
ce of cake up to Mason. It was a little awkward and Mason had to lean forward a bit to catch the spoon but it was sweet and relaxing. He hadn’t had anyone hold him like this since he was a kid. It brought back those same feelings of comfort and support. He smiled a bit; it was definitely more erotic now.

Sitting on Edward’s lap, there was no hiding the erection pressed into his ass. Feeling physical proof of Edward’s desire and acceptance had him relaxing even more. It was one thing to see the desire on Edward’s face but knowing he was really turned on was something else entirely.

Cuddling up to Edward, trying to ignore his own throbbing erection, Mason relaxed and let Edward feed him the dessert. He couldn’t help shifting in Edward’s lap. Edward hadn’t done anything to hide his desire from Mason and he couldn’t help but wish that they were somewhere more private. He knew it would have been rushing things but it was tempting.

  Incredibly tempting.

Finishing the last piece of cake, Mason grinned as Edward brought the kiddie cup up for Mason. Mason instinctively reached for the cup but Edward pushed his hands down and brought the cup up to Mason’s mouth. It wasn’t his sippy cup or even the bottle in his fantasies but it was close enough that his cock jumped and he had to fight the urge to moan.

Edward tightened his grip and Mason knew he hadn’t been subtle about his desire. Mason could tell he didn’t mind though, because he could feel the way Edward’s cock jerked under him. It was a really good thing they were in the restaurant.

With more privacy, things would definitely have gotten out of hand. The pictures running through his head made him want to grind his ass on Edward’s cock and beg for more. Just knowing that the waiter would walk in any minute was the only thing holding him back.

“I think that the next time we have dinner, more privacy will be necessary.” Edward’s formal tone came out gravelly and rough. Mason could hear the strain in his voice.

“Oh, yes. A lot more privacy.”

Edward’s hands reached down and pinched his butt before correcting him. “A lot more privacy, Daddy.”

A shiver raced through Mason. God, that was hot. The pain, the discipline, hearing Edward say daddy, it was nearly too much.

Mason could only manage a breathless reply. “Yes, Daddy.”

“In the future, there will be consequences for boys who forget their manners.”

“Yes, Daddy.” He couldn’t wait for consequences.

  CHAPTER 6

Looking at Dr. Miles Sheppard, kinky probably wouldn’t be the first word to come to mind for most people. If Edward hadn’t known about the man’s fetish, he would not have associated the man with any type of kink either.

Dr. Sheppard radiated understanding and openness. He was happy without seeming to smile too much and something about him gave off an air of honesty. Edward thought he would make a great witness in court. Juries would love him. Edward didn’t need to love him, though. He just needed Dr. Sheppard’s expertise.

The new doctor was an expert in fetishes and alternative lifestyles. Edward thought it helped that the man was in a relationship as a little himself. It certainly made a difference to Edward.

Why go to someone for his questions when they wouldn’t understand the roles and needs of individuals in the lifestyle? The doctor was surprisingly honest about his lifestyle and relationship during their first conversation on the phone.

When Edward called the psychologist that was on retainer with the firm, he’d readily admitted his lack of knowledge on alternative lifestyles and had recommended Dr. Sheppard. So far, Edward was impressed and that was usually very hard for most people to accomplish.

Their conversation the previous week, while short, was informative. When Edward had called the office on Monday morning Dr. Sheppard had agreed to extend his workday so Edward would not have to wait. Overall, he was very impressed.

After his dinner with Mason on Saturday, Edward was more resolved than ever to speak with an expert in the field. With his determination to pursue Mason in a daddy/little relationship, he needed to make sure he understood how to handle problems and things that might come up in the course of forming their relationship.

Personally, he’d thought dinner went well. Much better than it could have. There were some tense moments where he’d inadvertently made Mason uncomfortable. Aside from those few instances, they’d had a wonderful evening.

Edward had been worried when Mason was still on his lap and the waiter had come back in. He personally didn’t mind the waiter seeing. It wasn’t something he was going to go out of his way to hide. Mason, on the other hand, had frozen in Edward’s lap. Tightening his hand on Edward’s arm, he’d looked up, panic starting to show on his face.

Mason had calmed quickly when he’d realized that the waiter wasn’t shocked and he treated it as if it were an everyday occurrence. It seemed to help that Edward didn’t mind as well.

However, for all Boy’s nerves, his erection had never diminished. So either he had not had as much of an issue as Edward thought or something about other people knowing appealed to Boy on a visceral level. It was something to explore at a later date.

They’d left the restaurant shortly thereafter and Edward had to settle for kissing Boy on the cheek. Seeing the passion in Mason’s eyes had made leaving even harder, but they’d both readily agreed that meeting later in the week would be an excellent idea.

“I understand from our initial conversation, Mr. Winn, that you were going to have a date with a young man you were considering having a daddy/little relationship with. How do you think the evening went?” Dr. Sheppard looked curious and asked the question sincerely.

“I think it went very well. It was slightly peculiar on occasion but as a whole, I think that the lifestyle will be a good fit.”

“Tell me more about Mason. How do you think he felt about the evening?”

“We were both nervous at the start of the evening but as time went on I think we both became much more confident and relaxed. As we talked, I found it interesting that Mason’s biggest fear seemed to be that I would change my mind and end up walking away from him.”

“What did you think of his fear? Is it something you can relate to?”

“I asked him about it at the time actually, and while I think it’s a valid fear, I don’t have that particular concern myself.”

“You’re not concerned that he will change his mind or that you will?”

“Both actually. It didn’t take long into the evening to see how the role of daddy might feel. I find the lifestyle and Mason intriguing enough that I have no doubts about my feelings on the role.”

“Were you able to explain that to Mason?”

“I think so, but he’s hard to read sometimes. He has several tells that indicate when he finds something erotic but he’s not verbally that expressive. It’s probably a learned behavior because of the nature of his desires. From what he said, he has not had a lot of experience with other people in the age-play community.”

“Not a lot of experience or no experience?”

“No experience with others aside from online information and his own fantasies.”

“So you’re both in similar positions. He might know with more certainty what he wants but neither of you has experience with this lifestyle.”

“Correct, which is really why I’m here. I want to make sure I am making the right choices for us and that I understand how I am supposed to proceed.”

They talked about the date and Edward went into more detail about their initial meeting. Dr. Sheppard continued to ask open-ended questions and seemed to be listening closely. Edward found it was more about talking his way through things with Dr. Sheppard facilitating than the doctor controlling the conversation. Edward was definitely going to keep him in mind for future cases.

“I think you have a good handle on your feelings about Mason and age play in general. What is your biggest concern about your date on Wednesday?”

“I do not feel I have sufficient
knowledge to make Mason more comfortable with sharing his needs. In order to make the relationship work, I need to know what he requires in a daddy but his natural resistance to sharing that information makes me question my reactions and desires.”

“Why does it make you question your reactions?”

“I’ve done quite a bit of research on age play and I understand how many variations there are in the community. Without a thorough understanding of Mason’s preferences, I question whether he will find the same things desirable. I realize we will have differences in what we desire. That’s perfectly normal. But when I look at topics like discipline and control, I’m not sure how he will react. Making him comfortable and finding out what he needs is my biggest focus.”

“Have you shared this with Mason? I know you’re in the very beginning of your relationship but did you tell him that?”

  “Not in so many words.”

“So you’re each afraid of what the other might think. Because of that fear, neither of you is willing to tell the other.” Dr. Sheppard stared at Edward, obviously hoping he could see the irony.

Looking at it from that perspective, Edward could see how ridiculous it came across. “That’s not how I would have explained it but I can see your point. How do I go about changing that?”

“I’ve been giving that some thought and I have a suggestion.”

Listening to Dr. Sheppard’s proposal, Edward couldn't help but look forward to Wednesday.

  ****

“What are you afraid of? Really, what’s the worst that could happen? You already know he likes you and that he finds you hot. He’s turned on by the whole age-play thing and he’s sexy, single, and successful. The evening’s going to go fabulously.”

Maddy sounded a lot more confident than he felt. They’d been chatting on the phone for the last half hour or so while he’d gotten ready for his date. While physically he was almost ready to go, emotionally he was ready to hide under the bed.

“I don’t know. What if everything’s awkward and he—”

Maddy interrupted him, “Do not say what if he changes his mind again. We both know that after the dinner the other night that’s not going to happen. He held you and had the waiter give you the cup you wanted. He’s a keeper, Mase. He’s just not the sort of guy who does things on a whim. He’s a planner and is known for his confidence and single-mindedness in the courtroom.”
