  She tapped him.

“How are we going to do that? We need to have clothes to get clothes.”

“Good point. I could rob the place with my cock.”

“It is a weapon,” she said and nodded. “You got that thing registered?”

He pointed to a parked car at the front of the store. “There, car running at the front. That’s our chance.”

Amy looked unsure, but there was no time to deliberate. He charged through the parking lot, shielding her from view. There were people unpacking their groceries, watching as a large naked man streaked across the lot. When he got to the parked car, Dom shattered the window and threw open the door.

He laid her down in the passenger seat.

“Doors were unlocked, Dom,” she said.

He shrugged, then they were off, on the road again.

To where? She had no idea, but she knew they needed clothes.

Dom scored them something to wear. He needed to break into a shop to steal it however. On the run, he didn’t have the luxury to pay in credit. Anyway, it wasn’t like he ever had clothes long enough to keep a wallet. It bothered the hell out of him that he couldn’t repay his debts. Amy came up with the idea to construct him a bear wallet, or a bear satchel maybe, which he could keep on his back. He hadn’t liked the idea.

  “Where are we going now?”

  “I’m taking you back.”

Taking me back? Amy didn’t want to go back now. She was having too much fun. What did she have to go back to? With Dom she could be free. Amy didn’t want to come on too strong. There was also the fact that she didn’t know much about Dom, but she didn’t want to go back, that fact didn’t change.

Maybe she could get him talking again. Dom needed to realize that Amy could offer him something. Didn’t he get that point already? They had sex and now he was dumping her off. Did it mean nothing to him?

Amy didn’t just do that with anyone.

  “You’re taking me back?”

“Yes,” he said grimly. “I’m sorry.”

Like that helped. Amy turned back to the window, but restless, started the conversation again.

“What’s with changing into a bear? How’d that all start?”

“Memory is wonky, but I get pieces of it from time to time.”

“Those men that are after you, they didn’t create you, did they?”

“I don’t think so. I think they want to test me. Make me into a lab animal. I’m not interested.”

  “How are you so sure?”

  “I don’t ever remember being in a cage. That’s something I think I’d remember.”

  “What do you remember?”

“Lots of questions. I guess I should understand. It must be a weird thing to see. It started a couple years ago, then got worse. Something bad happened to me, something that changed me. I don’t know if it broke that side of me free or what, but I’m not the same man. It was around the same time my fiance died.”

His gaze didn’t budge from the road when he said that. She could see the strain, the past trying to scratch its way free from that dark place he buried it. Whatever had changed him had been a traumatic experience. He didn’t want to relive it, and neither did Amy. Talking about it could make him transform as well.

“I don’t want to go back. There’s nothing for me there,” Amy said.

Dom gave her a hard look. He paused, then sighed.

“There’s got to be someone waiting for you.”

  “No.”

“You can’t come with me. It’s not safe. I wish you could, but I’m on the run. I’m going to be running for a long time.”

That stung. Rejected, she reclined in the seat and tried to push it back. “How the hell do you work this thing?”

  “On the bottom.”

She tried to grab it, but couldn’t find it. “Whatever. Wake me up when we’re there.”

It sounded like Dom didn’t want anything to do with her.

What was she, a nice ride, a little getaway, and then a drop off, never to be seen again?

Just when Amy found a promising man, it figured, even a man as strong as a bear couldn’t commit. Their time in the woods started to look even more like a random act of aggression now, and not anything she could put her trust in.

“This it?” Dom asked, winding his way through her neighborhood to her apartment. She didn’t live in a particularly nice neighborhood, but it was safe enough. Some of the houses were too nice to be placed next to others which were never maintained. The world closed in on her again.

She didn’t have that space. She didn’t have anyone to protect her.

What was Dom bringing her back to?

He was abandoning her. Did he know that?

She wanted to tell him, but didn’t want him to feel bad. After all, Amy was a grown woman. She made these decisions herself which led her to this place and the company she kept. She just wished she started the change in her life sooner.

If only I could transform like you Dom, become an eagle and soar over all these problems.

“This is it,” she said, then swallowed hard, feeling her throat tightening up.

There was a welcoming committee at the front of her apartment. She recognized the cars. Tom and his friends stood around her porch drinking. Dom noticed as well. Wasn’t he supposed to have super senses? Why didn’t he warn her?

...Unless he wanted to hurt Tom and his friends, which wasn’t what Amy wanted. She needed to defuse this situation.

He slammed on the brakes. The men pointed at Dom and Amy. With Tom at the front, they surrounded the car. Dom remained at the wheel. Tom gave him the signal for him to turn the car off.

  He did.

  “What are you doing?”

  Frantic, Amy was trapped.

  “Go, Dom. Just drive.”

His lip quivered. She could see a snarl starting.

Oh God, don’t do anything stupid...now she feared for Tom’s life and the others. Was her bear going to tear them limb from limb?

“Come on out,” Tom screamed at Dom.

She stepped out of the car. She heard Dom call out for her to get back in. He probably didn’t expect that from her. Actually, Amy wasn’t totally sure what she was doing herself.

“Back away from the car,” Amy said.

  “What?”

  Tom was shocked.

“What did you say to me?”

“You heard me. Get out of here. Go,” she said, standing her ground.

  “No you don’t, you bitch.”

Tom raced toward her. His friends screamed and pulled him back, one of the men wrangling him around the waist to stop him. When Amy took a step back, she stepped right into Dom, who was there to back her up.

  “You all right?”

She reached back, finding his hand there to steady her. “Yeah.”

His friends lost all their fight, using it to keep back their angry friend. They didn’t sign up to beat down a girl. They thought they were going to be there to lay a beat down on some guy who stole his woman. What they didn’t expect was that Tom would show his true colors.

“Tom, Tom, calm down, you asshole,” one of them screamed.

They shoved him back, but he raced toward them again.

“Should I step in?” Dom asked.

“No, it’s over. It’s not worth it.”

Dom still stood there. He looked ready to change.

“Then I think we should leave, unless you want to see someone get hurt.”

Tom continued to scream, but Amy wasn’t listening.

“Let’s go,” she told Dom, and they got in the car again.

“Not to my apartment. Let’s go somewhere else for awhile.”

Amy felt dizzy like she was about to be sick. Did she just do that? She didn’t have the ability to feel good about her standing up to him, not now. Now she just wanted to get far away and get some space.

“You got it,” Dom said. “Care for more pancakes?”

  She sighed,
even though she was stressed, she laughed. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“Do I look like I’m joking?”

“No, that’s the scary thing, you don’t. There’s a nature trail around here. Let’s go park there. I need to breathe.”

They parked on the side of the road and walked through the nature trail until they got to a camp site. No one was there during the day. It was peaceful and quiet again, and Amy wished she could simply stay there and not return to her cramped apartment. If she had to go back to that life now, she would be miserable. On the run with him, she could care less about her safety. Dom would keep her safe, she was sure. Besides, it was time to live a little dangerously.

“I’m not going back,” she blurted out.

  “What?”

  “I’m going with you.”

“It’s dangerous. These men, they want to kill me. If you’re with me, they’ll want to kill you.”

Amy strode towards him. He rose from the park bench. She gripped him tight, letting him see the conviction in her eyes.

“I don’t care. Let them try. We’ll keep running until we get somewhere safe. I want to be with you. Besides,” she said, running her finger up the long length of his chest. She kept her finger on his chin, leading his lips towards hers. “You need me too.”

Dom knew it was true. Having Amy by his side, she could keep him in check. A man like him couldn’t get by on his own. He needed some way to relieve all that tension. Amy could help him with that. She knew he liked her. It would take a little convincing to change his mind, but she was sure she could convince him.

“We can do this together,” she said. Amy gripped him tighter. She looked up at him with big, pleading eyes. They must’ve been irresistible, at least she hoped.

“You’re coming with me,” he said, and she leapt into his arms to celebrate.

Her legs wrapped around him and he kissed her tenderly. Her hands roamed over his wide back, feeling the length of tight muscle and she gripped it firmly to keep her secure. She bit his ear, and he groaned, loving the feeling of her playing with that sensitive spot, calling the beast out.

Dom could fuck her rough, but this time, she wanted him to make love as well. She wanted to feel that trust. Take me nice and slow this time, will you? I don’t mind if you fuck me silly after that, but first, I want to feel you slowly. I want to savor it.

They undressed with one another, stripping down fast while trying to kiss in between. Then they were on each other, Amy rushing into his wide arms and riding against that thick fur.

Groaning, arching her back, Amy let his wild tongue rush across her tits. That fur was the right texture to rub against, and with his heavy muscles behind it, even better. With him feasting on her tits, she hungered for more below. Her pussy was needy, desperate for him to enter.

Still, she moaned, “Slow. Be gentle.”

She slid further down his lap, her ass rubbing against his cock, hard and ready for her. His cock thrust against her ass cheeks, and she let out another moan, lost in the pleasure of his tongue flashing on her tits.

Rocking against his hips, Amy managed to slip him inside her. Once inside, they both flexed, stopping, Dom loving the feel of her sex and Amy loving the instant she felt him inside again.

“Go wild on me,” she told him.

  So much for slow.

Her wetness poured over his cock, slicking it up and letting him drive inside.

Dom slid her up and down his long shaft, hitting her deeper than she was filled before. Each time she clutched onto him tighter. She hoped she could take all of him. Every inch was bliss.

“Yes,” he growled, then let out a roar as he bounced her faster.

Her breasts bounced to their fucking. He could hold her up with ease, driving in his slick cock that hit her sweet spot every time. Amy knew she made the right decision to run with him as he took her over and over, building an orgasm to blow her mind.

Dropping her down while he laid on his back, he let her rock on his cock. It was too intense for her, but Dom wanted more. He bounced her hips, thrusting her on that fat, hard cock of his.

  “I can’t - I can’t take it -”

Dom growled and continued pumping into her. She flowed into one orgasm to the next, at least they felt like orgasms, because there were a lot of them. She lost count. Amy fell over, unable to keep herself up on his lap. He brought his powerful legs up to drive his cock in, filling her even more.

She attempted to break free, but he kept her pinned.

  “I’m coming,” she said, panting.

  “I’m going to fill you.”

  “Yes, do it.”

“I’m going to come in you.”

He slid her back up then bounced her again on top of his lap. She shuddered every time she bounced, and the beast growled, showing his teeth and flexing at the sight. Her bear was on the edge of coming. Amy knew he was going to come in her. She waited desperately, every second lasted much longer as she waited, begging for him to release.

She managed to rock her hips with him now. Somehow she dug in deep, placing her hands against his paws while she took him. Her pussy clenched, tightening around him, sucking him in.

Dom roared again. This time, it was one long roar as he unloaded. He poured into her, filling her. She closed her eyes, her body thrumming with their love. Amy wanted to savor the moment. She held onto his paws, letting him stay inside her.

Then she slumped over into his arms. The bear held her close. She rubbed against Dom’s chest, letting his hair tickle her cheek. She smiled, happy, leaving him inside her. They were together now. They were on the run, but they had each other.

Having a partner always made her feel anxious, insecure, but not with her bear. Her bear was the ultimate partner, caring for her like she never thought anyone would.

“I don’t think I can keep warning you to stay away. I really want you with me. It took everything I had last time to warn you.”

“You don’t need to warn me now. I’m coming with you. No matter what happens, I’m happy with my choice,” Amy told him.

“I don’t know how much I’ll be able to run with you taking my legs out like that.”

“Your legs, what about mine? You’re going to do a lot of carrying.”

Dom smirked. “No problem. I can do that.”

Showing off his strength, he lifted her up with one arm, keeping her pressed against his chest.

“Woah, OK, I believe you. At least now, you won’t need to scavenge. I can help you get what you need.”

“You’ve already given me what I need. I don’t have to be lonely on the run now.”

  “You’ve got me.”

He draped Amy’s clothes over her. Then he walked through the woods, back to the car.

“You’re getting better at not shredding my clothes,” Amy said.

“You know when I get that wild look in my eyes, you’ll have to throw your clothes off fast.”

“Yes,” she said, smiling wide and nuzzling against him.

  “Where are we headed first?”

“Someplace safe and quiet. Someplace where we can simply enjoy each other.”

“I like the sound of that,” Amy said, and he dropped her lightly onto the passenger seat and gave her a kiss.

  “I’m ready.”

“Let’s go,” Dom said. Then Amy and her bear were off.

Excerpt of next part in the series, Honey Trap (The Werebear Shifters 2)::

Dom had been regretting a lot of things. Being left in a cage, left to think, gave him a lot of time to regret. He paced the bars, which he tried to bend, even after shifting, they didn’t budge. Whatever they were, they weren’t ordinary steel. They constructed this cage specifically for him.

What he regretted most was getting Amy mixed up in this.

He wanted her, did he ever want her, but it was selfish of him to get her involved. It didn’t matter if she wanted him as well. Dom should’ve been smart enough to know
it would never work out. When it came to women and him, it never did. He thought this one would be different.

  Now that was a laugh.

His head still felt wonky after all the drugs they pumped into him. It was like he woke up from a bad hangover. They were kind enough to give him some painkillers for the damn headache, but then those workers disappeared.

He could still hear the chopping of the helicopter blades, swooping right behind him, never too far away no matter how fast he ran. They cornered him at a dead end, a rocky cliff was his only way out, and jumping down that would’ve been certain death. Before he could make a choice, the choice was made for him. What felt like hundreds of tranquilizer darts pierced his tough hide.

Then he woke up in bars. He woke up regretting, nursing a head ache, but what mostly bothered him was wondering if Amy was safe.

This was a stupid plan, Dom. You should’ve known better.

It was the constant beating up on himself that eventually made him give up and sit his ass down. A single office chair waited in the middle of the room, which was more like a steel box with a security camera in it. He waited awhile for someone to sit in that chair. The one who gave him the painkillers didn’t look like the one in charge, besides, he knew who would be walking through those doors, and he wasn’t looking forward to it.

Eventually, Conrad walked through those doors and sat on the lone seat. He looked the same as he did years ago, same buzz cut, same black boots, and same grizzled and pissed off look, but this time, he didn’t look as pissed as normal. Dom could tell he was happy, which didn’t happen much.

“Hello, Dom. I hope none of this is a surprise to you.”

“Don’t worry, it’s not that surprising, if what you’re talking about is you sitting across from me.”

“Did you think you could run forever? You gave my men a good chase, but eventually we’d catch you. You had to know that.”

Dom pressed himself close to the bars. He could feel his animal side emerging from the deep at the sight of Conrad. Once, he had been his boss, and someone who he would call a friend.

“You hire a lot of incompetent pricks, so I would say that me being in this cage is pretty shocking. The only reason I’m here is because I let my guard down.”
