  I felt a nudge at my ribs and turned to look at my beauty.

  “I’m hungry.” and I could totally agree with that. Food sounded fantastic at that moment. Reluctantly, I got up and looked through my pack for another pair of pants for the both of us. Slipping them on I toss the extra pair to Aleeka, along with a shirt. Although I had much rather of had her naked.

  When I returned with two nice sized turkeys I was pleased to see that she had already gotten the fire going and all was ready to start roasting. Sitting together sharing our meal, a feeling of love for my mate swept over me and I was truly thankful for fate bringing me to her.

  As it was already late afternoon, I decided to put off traveling until the morning since we only had a little over a day’s journey left.

  After a quick breakfast, we had left early that morning and were within sight of the Lonean Province border when we stopped for the evening. We had only stopped as necessary and had even eaten lunch as we continued to travel. Both of us were ready to be done with this land and move on from the past.

  Around noon the next day, we finally crossed the border and I was struck by the vastness of the mountain ranges.

  “All these mountains remind me of home, it’s unbelievable how different the land looks just from one border to the next.”

  “We still have about a day’s journey to get to Kales, but you will love it there. I think it will remind you a lot of Calda Falls.”

  “Even if it didn’t look a thing like Calda I would still love it because that is where you are and as long as I’m with you that’s all that matters.” I said as I stood on tiptoes to kiss him.

  It was just before noon when we finally made it to the little town of Kales. I had been born here, as had most of my family. But due to the war not much was left. It had tried to rebuild but it would never be the same again. Nonetheless it still drew me back here just like a moth to a flame, but now I actually had a reason to settle in one spot.

  We walked the market area and I delighted in the expressions on Aleeka face. Especially when she got to meet another dragon. Old Sam had been ancient when I was a kid and he still looked the same, well maybe he had a few more wrinkles. Like me, he too had been born in this town. He remembered well back when dragons were still plentiful. I had listened to his stories for hours as a child, that is until I had been placed in a training camp at thirteen.

  Aleeka was so taken with the old man that I had to promise to bring her back to town soon so that she could talk with him, before she would even agree to visit some of the other venders.

  I was in love with this town, and meeting Old Sam had been the highlight of my day so far.

  I had never been around people before and I was afraid that I might have been a little overwhelmed, but as long as Galen was by my side I felt nothing but safety.

  As we wondered around to the different venders Galen found one that offered women’s clothing and got me something to wear that would actually fit me.

  It was getting later in the day, when he decided that it was time to head to our home. I couldn’t wait to see it.

  Dusk was upon us as we made it up the eastern slope one of the mountains. Still, it was light enough to see a small cabin in the distance. When we got to it, you could tell that it was older but it had been mostly maintained.

  “It’s been a while since I’ve been here to look after the place. I had no reason to want to be here, until I met you that is. I want this to be our home Aleeka, a place to raise our children and live our lives together. I love you, my precious mate.”

  Tears filled my eyes and slipped down my cheeks at his words. “And I love you, this will be our home.”

  In the following days fixed the few minor things that needed repair around the house and when most of that was done Galen would take me on the trails he remembered from his childhood.

  One afternoon in particular he delighted in taking me to a waterfall that was close by. It was so beautiful to watch the water cascading over the high ridge near the top of the mountain peak. And when the sun would hit the water just right rainbows could been seen. Soon this became one of our favorite spots to relax and to make love. Galen had even taught me how to fly here. So, this is why I brought him here to tell him the news.

  “Love what is it? Would you please tell me already?” he begged as we made our way up the slope to the falls.

  “Would you just be patient, we’re almost there, five more minutes isn’t going to kill you.”

  “Fine but this had better be good.” he stated as he pouted, but if you were to accuse him of it he would deny it till his last breath.

  As we reached the falls he turned to me, “Okay, now what is it?”

  “Turn around and stay that way till I tell you different.”

  “What…” he started but I held up my hand and rotated my finger. “Fine.” he said with a huff.

  My love was not a very patient man. I quickly undressed and moved closer to him, putting my hand on his shoulder to turn him around.

  A look of confusion past his features as I took his hand and put it on my belly, right the small swell that had begun. As understanding dawned on him, he looked back and forth from his hand to my eyes.

  “A baby?” he whispered softly almost afraid to say the word out loud.

  I nodded and said, “Our baby.”

  Tears began to shine in his emerald eyes as he dropped to his knees in from of me and placed a kiss on the lower part of my belly. I held him to me as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

  Slowly, I sank down to the ground to lay in the soft grass with my mate and delighted in knowing that he was mine as I leaned over to kiss him. His hand came up to tangle in my hair as the kiss deepened. I worked the buttons on his shirt, throwing it open, as he licked and nibbled at my neck. I worked on his pants next, freeing his cock for my taking. Straddling his hips, I impaled myself on his thick shaft. Placing my hands on his chest, I rode my love. Taking him deep into me and crying out his name as wave upon wave of ecstasy washed over me. My climax setting off his as my pussy clamped down on him.
