A Wolf's Contract

“We’re punished.”
“How?” she prodded.
“Death more than likely.”
“Oh,” she replied. “Will you be telling my family?”
“No, they can’t know. Unless they somehow end up with one of the wolves.” He insinuated himself between her legs. “Right now though, I’m more worried about you.”
“I’m fine.” Damn her and her stubborn chin lifting. Brave, with a hint of vulnerability. He wanted to gather her in his arms and soothe away the fear still glittering her gaze.
“No, you’re not. You will be though.” He pressed his lips to hers. When she surrendered to him, he relaxed. The kiss was sweet. Gentle. He tasted her, soothed her. “I need you, Gabby.”
“Here?” she mumbled.
“Yes,” he answered, running his hands along her sides. “Under the moon. You’re already mine, but I want it done for Mother Earth to see and grant us her blessing.” He removed her coat and placed it next to her.
“Won’t we get caught?” she asked as he pulled off her shirt.
“By who? We’re on my sister’s property.”
“Other wolves?” she said while he removed her shoes.
“Nope, they run other places. This is all for Fawn. She has her reasons and I’m sure when she feels like it, she’ll tell you.” He made quick work of her pants, leaving her in just her panties and bra. “Fuck, you’re beautiful.” His thumb skimmed her clit. Gabby gasped as a damp spot formed.
“Kru,” she murmured.
“I know, I feel it, too.” He tugged off her underwear and situated her on his lap. “I don’t have any protection with me,” he mumbled.
“Don’t stop,” she whimpered. “It’s okay.”
“Give me strength,” he grunted, before positioning himself at her entrance. He pushed through her silky folds and groaned. “Mine.” He slammed her down on him and felt her ripple around him while accommodating his size. “I knew you’d feel good. So fucking wet and hot. You’re fisting my cock.”
She moaned and shuddered, spilling more of her cream. “Please,” she sobbed. “Move.”
“Hell yes.” His hands gripped her hips, guiding her over him. Each slide felt like heaven and hell. The sweetest form of torture. He released the clasp of her bra and pushed the flimsy material from her shoulders. Her breasts pressed to his chest, turning him on even more.
They rocked together in a sensual rhythm, their breaths mingling as well as their souls. The power of his wolf beckoned he finish it, claim her for eternity, however, he was content to continue at the pace he’d set. He wanted to explore her. Relish her. He nibbled on the mark he’d left on her neck, licking and laving at it until she clenched around him and a keen whine passed her lips.
She rippled around him, milking his cock with her orgasm. “Good try, beautiful, but I’m not ready.” He kissed her while shifting his hips, pumping into her with hard, demanding strokes. He fucked her with precision, knowing just how to get his mate off. “I’ll give you an A for effort, though.” He chuckled when she grumbled at him.
“You’re an ass,” she said.
“Yes I am.” He bent his head and took her nipple into his mouth and sucked. She swiveled her hips, adding to the building friction and heat growing between them. He groaned, flattening his tongue against the piercing. She shuddered over him and he smirked. “So damn responsive.” He switched to her other nipple and gave it the same treatment.
“Never mind, you’re a cocky ass.”
“I’ll show you cocky.” He flipped their position so she was on her knees and he was behind her. He aligned himself with her pussy and pushed forward, not stopping until he was balls deep. “Fuck!” She felt so fucking good and way tighter. She threatened to unman him with each contraction of her cunt, squeezing him tight.
He retreated to his tip then slammed home and set them on a hard pace meant to get them both off. He thrust into her over and over. Her cries and mewls rent the night air calling to the animal inside him. Shit, he wouldn’t last long. He reached around her and found her hard, distended clit. He rubbed the tiny nub, slick with her cream, between his fingers. She squeezed his cock and he grunted. “That’s it, beautiful. Get your pussy creamy for me.”
“Kru…please. Fuck, please.” Her frantic plea was music to his ears.
“I love it when you say please.” He added pressure to her clit. She responded by clenching on him again. “What do you need, Gabby?”
“I need to come,” she cried.
His strokes became uneven as the tingle of pleasure raced along his spine and settled in his balls. “Do it, beautiful. Make both of us come.” His thrusts turned urgent, shortening with each shift of his body. He pressed kisses to her shoulders, limiting his movement but giving him the ability to tap her sweet spot with his crest. His mouth went to her mark. “Come for me, baby. I ache to fill you.” He bit her mark and felt her detonate around him. Her pussy went supernova, contracting around him in hard pulls. He fucked her through the waves of her release until fire raced through his veins and he shoved into her one last time and howled, coming in hard, body-shaking spurts.
He surrounded her with his body, both sated and replete from their release. He couldn’t speak. He didn’t think she could either. His breath came in heaving pants. The force of his release shocked him to his foundation. Gathering her in his arms, he held her close and gazed at the slip of a woman who got past his walls and claimed his heart.
“Hey,” she whispered when she opened her eyes.
“Hi,” he replied. He kissed her. “You okay?”
She nodded, giving him a goofy grin. “Better than okay.”
His palm cupped her face while his thumb traced her cheek. “I love you, Gabby.”
Her smile brightened her whole face. “I love you, too, Kru. Your secret is safe with me.”
Chapter Ten
Two months later
Gabby kissed her mate as he came in the door. Covered in sweat and grime from working on another build, Kru smelled like sawdust and dirt, coupled with pine, which she considered his scent. He dropped his utility belt by the back door then unlaced his boots and placed them on the mat. Strange how they fell into a normal routine when neither of their lives had ever been normal. “Your sister called. We’re supposed to go over there for dinner tonight. She said she has a surprise for us.”
“A surprise?” He wrapped his arm around her shoulder before heading into the front of the house. “Did she hint at it?”
“Nope,” she said. “Just be there by seven.”
“So we have an hour and a half?” he asked changing direction. “You can scrub my back for me. Unwind some of the kinks?”
Gabby laughed. “Deal.”
When she emerged from her room after re-dressing, Kru waited for her by the door. The quick shower had turned into a forty-five minute sex romp. The man was insatiable. If she hadn’t reminded him they were late, she’d still be in bed and they’d be headed for round two.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he growled.
“Like what?”
“Like you’re seeing me naked and remembering what we just did in the shower.” She watched his eyes change from onyx to white-blue.
She shivered. “It’s hard not to.” She grabbed her jacket off the hook and flounced out the door. “We’re late,” she said over her shoulder.
Kru grabbed her now-healed hand and tugged her into his arms. “Later.” He kissed her. “I’m keeping you awake all night.”
She laughed again. “You have work in the morning.”
“Fine, half the night then.” He led her to the truck and helped her inside. “Now we’re really going to be late.”
“I told you.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he mumbled, getting in beside her. “Have you talked to Poppa today?”
“I did,” she replied as they drove away from the house. “He said the shop is coming together. They got their fi
rst customer yesterday.”
“Good. What about Alicia?”
“She was meeting with a realtor tomorrow to talk about some ideas she had. She wants to open a beauty salon.”
“Really?” He pulled onto the main road and drove to Kalum’s house.
“Yeah, she had a license to do it in Vegas. She’ll reapply in Hill City and get everything legit.” Gabby shrugged. “I never thought they’d enjoy it here, but Hombre and Black Jack have decided they want to stay, too.” To know she had the four people she considered family nearby after everything was like a weight off her shoulders.
“Great. I’m glad they’re staying. You should have family with you.”
When they finally arrived at the house, she noticed another truck was there. “This must be some big news,” she muttered.
“Must be.” They parked near the rear of the house and got out then walked in through the back door. “Anyone home?”
Lily stuck her head around the corner of the kitchen and smiled. “You guys made it. Come on in. We were just about to eat.”
“Told you we were late,” she teased and went on ahead of him. “What can I do to help?”
***
“So, I know you’re all wondering why we brought you here for dinner,” Fawn said from her perch next to Kalum. “We have some news we wanted to tell you.”
“Spit it out,” Kru groused. “I have something special I need to take care of tonight.”
“You do it every night, little brother,” Fawn laughed.
He didn’t say anything.
“We didn’t plan on it happening so soon,” Kalum added. “We were going to wait.”
“You’re already old, bro. As Kru put it so eloquently, spit it out,” Graham said.
Fawn looked at Kru then at everyone gathered around the table. “We’re pregnant!”
“Pregnant?” Gabby squealed. “This is amazing news!”
“We’re going to be aunts,” Lily chimed in.
Gabby took Lily’s hand in hers. “When is the baby due.” she asked.
“He or she will be a Christmas baby. Seems fitting for us,” Kalum drawled. “After everything we’ve been through, the baby is a culmination of a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. Figuratively, of course.”
After a hardy round of hugs and shoulder slaps, Gabby announced, “This calls for a girl’s day.”
“Where are we going?” Fawn asked.
“We can go to Hill City,” she said. “I’ll invite Alicia to go with us. She’ll be ecstatic about the news.”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea,” Kru jumped in.
“Why not?” Gabby placed her hands on her hips. “It’s been two months, Kru. Please.”
“I’ll go with them,” Graham said. “I don’t mind watching over them.”
“I can go. I don’t have anything on the books for tomorrow,” Chris added.
“It’s not the point of people going with you, beautiful. It’s the fact we’re still not any closer to narrowing the list of possible suspects than we were two months ago. I don’t want you getting hurt because some asshole got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.”
They figured out once they went over all the data Fawn had been able to generate, whoever asked for the hit, stole thousands of dollars from Craven. Every month for six months, between ten and twenty grand disappeared from the books. Everyone knew Craven and the Vipers did some illegal shit, but there were also accounts they made for charity. Those had been pilfered the worst. Craven knew who did it, and Gabby had a feeling her brother had been ready to turn them in.
“I can’t keep hiding,” she said, closing the space between them. She ran her thumb along his bottom lip. “We’re hiding here, not really living. At some point, we have to move forward, no matter how much it might scare us.”
“What am I supposed to do if something happens to you and I’m not there to help you?” he asked, pressing his forehead to hers.
“You’ll always be there. I have faith in you, even when you don’t have it in yourself.” She kissed her mate then patted his chest. “Graham and Chris won’t let anything happen to us.”
Gabby waited on the front porch of Fawn’s home. So much had changed in two months. Last night, Kru had made love to her with such carnal heat, she worried it was his way of saying good-bye, which led to her worry about going to Hill City. She didn’t have another guy to talk to about it. Hombre and Black Jack would probably take Kru’s head off if she ever told them about her sex life. They were like protective older brothers.
So she sat in the small swing, gazing off at the pasture. Black dots dappled the landscape where the cows stood and grazed. Every so often, some of them would go to the butcher while others went to sale. She’d learned a lot about the town since moving there. Some things were good, others were bad. She liked Drew. Stayed away from Ryker, who coincidentally had a human wife. You’d think he’d like us more.
She learned about the tragic, not-so-distant past of the Los Lobos. When she went to town, she looked at the burned shells of once-thriving businesses, and her heart hurt for them. More than likely the owners were also gone, moved away. How sad. She couldn’t imagine what they had gone through.
“Hello,” Tinks, a woman she’d met a time or two said. “Is everything okay?”
Gabby smiled. “Yeah. I was giving them a few minutes to themselves.” She hooked her thumb at the house.
“Mates.” Tinks laughed then rolled her eyes. “Never get enough of each other.”
“Such a hard life.”
“Oh yeah.” She took a seat next to Gabby. “So, I missed the big announcement. Fawn told me this morning when I called.”
“Yeah, I’m going to be an aunt. I’m excited for them. They’ve been so nice to me since I arrived.”
“I am, too. Fawn deserves all the happiness in the world.” Tinks glanced at the door. “I’m going with you guys, I hope you don’t mind.”
“Mind? Heck no. The more the merrier.” Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the truck from the night before pull in. “Looks like Chris is here.”
The door opened behind them and Fawn stepped onto the porch with Lily in tow. “Well, since you ladies won’t come in, we’re coming to you.”
“Sorry, you looked a little preoccupied with Kalum.”
Fawn blushed. “He was a little full of himself.”
“I think all the guys were last night.” Lily giggled. “We’re waiting for Black Jack and my brother?”
“Yep,” Gabby said. “Where’s Graham?”
“Feeding the cows,” Fawn said. “He’s always awake with the rooster.”
Once everyone had gathered, they jumped into Fawn’s truck and headed out of the hills to pick up Alicia. Excitement coursed through Gabby. She loved the hills, but civilization called to her, even if it was for a few hours. Behind them, Chris rode with Graham in his truck. She understood the need to be careful, but two months was a long time. Would someone actually stick around? No one would know where they were. Heck, she hadn’t known how to get there until now.
When they pulled into Poppa’s driveway, Alicia waited on the porch near the stairs for them. Alicia kissed her husband like they were teenagers and Gabby whistled. “Get a room, you two.”
Alicia covered her mouth and laughed while Poppa patted her ass and said something which caused her cheeks to flame. “I’m going to kill you, mi hija.”
“You love me too much, Alicia,” Gabby said. “Bye, Poppa.” She waved to him. He blew her a kiss then walked into the house. “Where’s Black Jack? I thought he was coming with us.”
“He had a late-night date.”
“Who?” Tinks asked, a sparkle in her eye.
“He didn’t say, but he was walking her to her car when Poppa grabbed a shower before going to work and I was getting ready.” Alicia climbed into the backseat. She touched Tinks’ knee. “She’s cute. You’d like her. Pretty little blonde. Sweet
and polite.”
“Well, I can’t wait to meet her,” Gabby said. “What about Hombre?”
“Oh, he’s already at the shop. He likes it there, I think he’s missing Craven is all. You know how close they were.”
Gabby nodded. “Yeah. I know.” They finally pulled away from the house and hit the road. “So, where are we going first?”
“I thought we’d grab some breakfast,” Fawn answered. “I’m starving.”
Gabby’s stomach gave an appreciative growl. “I agree.” She laughed.
“I want to go to the supply shop,” Alicia said. “Your roots are showing, mi hija.”
Gabby grinned. She hadn’t even thought about dying her hair since she arrived. She loved the spunk of it, but, with Kru, she could be Gabby without pretense. “I don’t know, Alicia. Maybe I’ll go with something a little more natural.”
Alicia snorted. “Do you even remember what your natural color is?”
“Uh….”
The cab of the truck erupted in laughter. “That’s bad,” Fawn snickered.
“Hey, I love my colors. I can’t help it.” She shrugged. “Besides, not like Miss Unicorn over here doesn’t know what I’m talking about.”
Tinks turned in her seat. “It’s the first time I’ve tried this.”
“Do you like it?” she asked.
“I do. I think it fits my personality.”
Gabby studied the woman for a second and wondered if the dye would come through on her coat when she shifted. The idea made her giggle. A multi-colored wolf running through the hills. Lily quirked a brow at her and she shook her head.
“Well now we have a list going,” Fawn said. “Food, beauty supply shop, where else?”
“I need to grab a few art supplies,” Tinks added. “I’ve got a new commission for another shop.”
“That’s great,” Lily said. “Before you know it, your art will be all over the place.”
“Why don’t you open a gallery?” Gabby asked. “You could sell your stuff local and online.”
Tinks shook her head. “I don’t know. I love doodling. I never thought I’d ever make a profession of it.”
