  Matthew returned from his room and met Amanda at their designated spot. “Where the hell’s Mom?” Amanda looked around but didn’t see April. But she did see Agent Johnson running toward them.

  “Thank goodness I found you. We have to get out of here now.”

  Matthew asked, “Where’s Cassie? I can’t find her.”

  Johnson explained that Cassie had left with Walter. “Walter left over an hour ago, headed to some secret location with Cassie. He wanted me to find you and get you to safety.”

  Matthew couldn’t believe that Walter would abandon ship so quickly. “Did Walter take anything else with him besides Cassie?”

  “He had a bag with some supplies and some sort of movie projector box. That’s all he took.”

  Matthew was about to ask about the box, but he was interrupted by a deafening alarm that filled the entire complex.

  “Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert!” bounced off the complex walls.

  “What’s happening?” Amanda yelled.

  Johnson looked to the elevators and grabbed Matthew’s arm. “We have to get outta here! We’re under attack!”

  Just then, the doors to the elevator shaft blew open with the force of a grenade. Matthew, Amanda, and Johnson stood back to see what or who would come through the door.

  Johnson stepped in front of Matthew and Amanda and said, “It’s the Apollan Guard. Run!”
