Jason Hanson of Concealed Carry Academy and formerly of the CIA was kind enough to answer every question I had the courage and wherewithal to ask (which was about two, but good enough). His Spy Escape & Evasion course will have an impact on this book and many more.
My editor, Jenn Wilks, gave me valuable feedback and the encouragement I (still!) needed. She and Diana Franklin (AKA Mom) helped to make sure the manuscript was as free of typos as possible. If there be errors here, they be the mistakes of the printers. Finally, Kierstin Marquet also gave me a boost of confidence I sorely needed.
And of course, you, my reader, for once again making my characters come to life for more than just me.
Thank you!
For Tomorrow We Spy
Once again, my husband Ryan, and our children, Hayden, Rebecca, Rachel and Hazel, have supported me through long days and evenings at the computer, drafting and crafting. Without any one of them, my life would be so much less rewarding.
As always, my parents, Ben and Diana Franklin, taught me so much about the science of writing (tense shift!), and their continued support means so much to me. Along with my sisters Jaime, Brooke and Jasmine, they’ve always encouraged me to do my best and make it shine.
My critique partners, Julie Coulter Bellon and Emily Gray Clawson, deserve tremendous, groveling, I’m-not-worthy thanks. Their guidance and encouragement helped to make this book, this series, and these characters into more than I could ever have done on my own.
My beta readers helped to smooth out those last little blips, and I appreciate each of them: Heather Baird, Ranee´ S. Clark and Sarah Anderson. Once again, my dad, Ben Franklin, was a huge help as a technical consultant and beta reader.
Obviously, this book required more language and cultural help than any I’ve published to date, so I have many people to thank here. Spasibo to Angela Millsap and Anastasia Kasakova, who reviewed all of my Russian and cultural notes (but any mistakes are my own), and to (Sestra) Courtney Leavitt, who acquiesced to my requests to hear more about Rostov-na-Donu, even going to the trouble of describing the church building there for me. Merci to Kathleen Perrin for fixing my French and to my cousin Ammon Franklin, who came through with some invaluable last-minute help. As always, kiitos to my dad, Ben Franklin, for Finnish help.
Jason Hanson of Escape & Evasion and formerly of the CIA was kind enough to answer my Agency questions, and my awesome experience in the field exercise of his Spy Escape & Evasion course inspired several of Talia’s surveillance-evading experiences in this book.
My editor, Jenn Wilks, once again whipped my prose into shape — thank you!
Finally, I want to thank you, my readers. Your support and encouragement mean so much to me. You have made my stories come to life in more than just my imagination. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have!
Thank you!
