Finally, they reached what she assumed was the middle of the building, and to her surprise, there they found what could only be described as an oasis. Lewis led her to the oversized couch that dominated the space and pulled her with him onto its plush upholstery.

The couch was so big that she had to slide back to lean again the pile of cushions that threatened to swallow her up. But before she knew it, Lewis was there by her side, pulling her into his arms. Desire raced through her like a wild fire out of control, sweeping the breath out of her lungs as Lewis’ strong arms wrapped around her possessively.

When his mouth came down on hers in a kiss filled with more desire than she’d imagined possible, she melted in his arms. In one easy move, he flipped her on her back, his mouth never leaving hers as his kiss made it very clear where he wanted this night to end. Alarm bells began to sound in the back of Venetia’s mind; they’d only known each other for a week, it was much too soon to take things that far.

But as Lewis continued to kiss her, she realized that she wanted this more than she’d ever wanted anything in her life. Giving in to her urges, she kissed him back, darting her tongue in and out of his mouth, making him grown low in his throat. All too soon for Venetia, he broke the kiss, leaving them both panting for breath.

He leaned up on one elbow, looking deeply into her eyes and said, “I want you more than I’ve ever wanted a woman, but I don’t want to move too fast. If you want to stop I will, but just know that it will be the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do.”

Venetia looked into his eyes and saw only the honesty of his words. In that instant, she was more lost than she’d ever been. The only answer she could give him was to pull his head down in a kiss that told him everything that he needed to know.

Venetia wrapped her arms around Lewis’ strong back, loving the feel of his rippling muscles beneath her hands. Lewis slid one of his legs between hers, his erection pressing against her hip, making her gasp into his mouth with anticipation. His hand found the bottom of her sweater and pushed it up her stomach, then rested there, raising goose bumps on her skin.

“Your sweater is soft, but not as soft as your skin,” he whispered in her ear as his hand traveled up her belly to the base of her breast, then paused again.

Venetia had all but stopped breathing, waiting for that moment when his hand would contact her breasts. When Lewis finally cupped one in his hand, the world stopped to exist as he kneaded first one then the other in his strong hands. Venetia’s head was thrown back in pleasure leaving her neck exposed. Lewis took the opportunity to nibble on her neck, sending more shivers of pleasure coursing through her heated body.

But much to her displeasure, he removed his hand, making her whimper in frustration. Lewis was even more aroused to see Venetia lying under him eagerly anticipating his next move. Pulling her up, he pulled her sweater over her head and quickly removed her bra, then laid her back down and took one of her stiff peaks in his mouth.

As his mouth drove her crazy, licking, teasing, and nipping at her breasts, his hand began to explore further down. He found the hem of her skirt and began to raise it, inch by inch, stroking her soft skin as he went. When his hand finally encountered the lacy panties she wore, he pushed them aside and gently slid his finger between her folds, pleased to discover that she was wet and slick with desire.

Venetia’s senses were overwhelmed with the sensations thundering through her body. She spread her legs, opening herself to him, the only invitation he needed to plunge his finger deep inside her. She was beyond caring about anything else but feeling his bare skin on hers as she blindly reached for his shirt and tore it off of him.

He pulled his finger out of her only long enough to pull off his pants and underwear, before spreading her legs further and plunging his finger in again. His mouth found her in a searing kiss, which was possessive and demanding. She responded by kissing him back, her hand finding his hard erection, a drop of pre-cum making the tip slick and wet.

She stroked him, as his finger slid in and out of her dripping core, her small moans getting louder as she approached orgasm. Lewis, determined to make her cum right there in his arms, rubbed his thumb across her clit, driving her over the edge, her muscles clamping around his finger as wave after wave of pleasure rolled over her.

Before she could catch her breath, he’d moved between her legs and stripped her skirt and panties off. Then looking deeply into her eyes, he pulled her legs around his hips and slid his throbbing cock inside her. She was so tight, it took her body a moment to adjust to his, but Lewis took the opportunity to kiss her plump lips.

As her body adjusted, her muscles tightened around him, and she began to move her hips. Lewis needed no more encouragement than that and began to move inside her; first long gentle strokes, but then more forcefully as his desire took over. Venetia planted her feet on the cushions on either side of Lewis’ muscular legs, raising her hips off the couch and allowing him to fill her even deeper.

Buried so deeply inside her, Lewis felt his climax coming, so he found her clit with his finger and began to stroke her in exquisite little circles. With his hard throbbing penis so deep inside her and his fingers, slick with her own moisture, rubbing her, Venetia exploded. Her orgasm burned a path through her body, radiating out from her core as wave after wave of pleasure left her limp and panting.

The feeling of Venetia’s muscles clenching around him and her trembling body sent him flying over the edge. His body rocked with a pleasure so complete, he found it difficult to breathe. He collapsed on top of her, unable to hold himself up any longer. His face nestled in her shoulder, her intoxicating scent filling his nostrils.

  Chapter 4

Hours later, they were still wrapped in each other arms, their love making having left them lazy and sated. Venetia knew that it was getting late, but since she had no plans for the weekend, or more accurately didn’t know her plans for the weekend, she laid there enjoying the feel of Lewis wrapped around her.

He was pressed up against her back stroking her hip. “Hmm, that’s nice,” she purred.

“As much as I’d love to continue this, I think we’re going to have to clean up. We have a big day tomorrow, and I wouldn’t want you too exhausted to enjoy it,” Lewis said, his hand moving up to her breast and giving the nipple a gentle tug.

Venetia drew in a deep breath as desire swam through her. “Are you sure we have to leave so soon?” she said, rubbing her hips seductively against his crotch, pleased when he immediately got hard.

“Well, we might have a few minutes,” he said, pulling her hips back and sliding into her.

By the time they finally managed to untangle themselves and pack up the leftover food, it was late. Venetia could hardly keep her eyes open, but she was happier than she’d been in a long time. Every part of her body was humming with the aftermath of the extreme passion they’d just shared. She knew that would soon turn to a mild case of sore muscles, but she didn’t care.

Lewis reluctantly dropped her off at her house, as much as Venetia had enjoyed the night, she felt the need for some time alone to sort out her feelings. So much had happened in so little time, she was afraid that it was all a dream. A night at home in her own bed might make it all seem a little less impossible.

Falling in love was supposed to take longer than just a week, but here she was already half in love with Lewis. She’d never been overly romantic or one to fall hard for a guy, but she’d done just that. It was both scary and exhilarating to think that she was suddenly part of something much bigger then herself. She just hoped that Lewis was feeling the same way since men didn’t always feel the same kind of bond women did after making love.

Afraid that sleep might elude her that night, she made herself a cup of tea and took it to bed with her, but after only one small sip she set it down and fell to sleep immediately, only waking the next morning to someone banging on her door.

Thinking it was an emergency with a patient, she
stumbled to the door and threw it open. “What’s wrong? Who needs me?”

Much to her dismay, it was Lewis, looking fresh and bright, two cups of coffee in his hand. “I need you, Dr. Bradford. There’s something wrong with my mouth that only you can treat,” he said, pushing past her into her little apartment which was a mess.

She didn’t know what to be more mortified about, her appearance or the crappy apartment she lived in. “Lewis, what are you doing here? What time is it?” she asked, trying to smooth down her hair which was probably sticking up everywhere.

Her curly hair was one of her worst attributes; it had a mind of its own no matter what she did to try and control it. She usually slept with it up, but last night she’d forgotten, now it was probably a tangled mess.

Lewis just laughed and handed her a cup of coffee. “Don’t worry, you look adorable in your flannel pajamas, your hair wild. Now come here,” he said, pulling her to him and kissing her. “And you don’t even have morning breath, in case you’re wondering.”

Venetia stood in the middle of the floor, coffee in one hand, looking up at Lewis. Finally, she laughed and said, “Well, good morning to you I guess.” Part of her annoyed that he’d surprised her and part of her thrilled that he was standing here in her apartment.

When he flashed her a big smile and said, “Are you ready for some fun?” she forgot her annoyance and smiled back at him, took a sip of the coffee, which was just the way she liked it, and crossed the room, hugging him and then disappearing into the bathroom.

Before she got in the shower, she poked her head out of the bathroom and called to him. “Where are we going? I need to know what to wear.”

“Just put on something comfortable,” Lewis called back. “Pack an overnight bag, we won’t be back until tomorrow.”

Heart pounding, she took a shower, forced herself to take the time to dry her hair and smooth out some of the curls. She packed a bag, including a silky nightgown she’d never worn, anticipating the look on Lewis’ face when he saw her in it. Just thinking about that caused a lovely little flicker of desire to come to life. Ready, she joined Lewis in the front room where he’d been waiting for her, reading the newspaper and drinking his coffee.

“I didn’t think people still read the newspaper,” she said, coming into the room and thinking how much she liked seeing him sitting there.

“I still like the feel and smell of the paper. Call me old fashioned, but I’m the same way about books,” he said, shrugging his shoulders.

“I think that’s cute,” she said, coming over to give him a kiss.

Before she knew it, she was on his lap, his mouth on hers in a searing kiss. After kissing her thoroughly, he released her and said, “It’s a good thing we have a flight to catch or I’m afraid our entire weekend would be spent in bed.”

“That doesn’t sound so bad to me,” she said, wiggling on his lap.

Lewis got up, with Venetia still in his arms, then set her on the floor. “Enough, woman, or we’ll end up doing it right here on the couch.”

Venetia’s breath caught in her throat at the picture that formed in her head. “That didn’t’ help. Now I just want to throw myself at you even more.” She laughed. “We better go now or we’ll never get out of here.”

As the plane made its descent, Venetia stretched and yawned. It had been an early morning and she’d had little sleep the night before so it had only taken a few minutes for the sound of the engines to put her to sleep. She’d been surprised when instead of going to the major airport in town, they’d arrived a small airstrip west of town.

“I’ve booked us a private flight. If we use regional airports, it cuts the travel time in half,” Lewis said, guiding her into the tiny plane.

She’d been sure that it would be an uncomfortable ride, but instead the plane had been plush and comfortable, the seats nothing like commercial airlines. It felt a little strange to be traveling in such luxury, but Lewis seemed to take it in stride so she decided to enjoy it.

“Where are we? I guess I feel asleep,” she said, rubbing her eyes.

“New York,” Lewis said, a huge grin on his face.

Venetia was too shocked to speak. On their first date, when they’d talked about traveling, she’d shocked him by admitting that she’d always dreamed of going to New York City. Embarrassed, she’d admitted that she wanted to go shopping at Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue, and see the art museum and a show. The whole thing was so unlike her, but since she’d been a kid, it had been a dream of hers.

“You remembered,” she said, tears springing to her eyes.

“I did. You deserve a little spoiling and I’m just the man to do it,” Lewis said, pulling her close for a kiss. “First, we check into our hotel, then shopping, then we’ll see where all that leads us.”

“That sounds wonderful,” Venetia said, feeling like a princess in a fairy tale.

The hotel was everything Venetia could have possibly wanted. It was downtown in the best neighborhood, with a beautiful view of the city from an adorable little balcony. Although it was winter, there was a heater that would could make it toasty in even the coldest weather. She couldn’t wait to have coffee there in the morning.

There was a huge king sized bed, covered in more silk than Venetia had ever seen. The bathroom had a tub that was big enough for both of them, plus a shower with multiple jets. A small kitchen with a table for two completed the room.

“It’s a fantastic room, everything I imagined it would be,” she said, crossing the room and giving him a big hug.

“I could have gotten us a suite, but I thought this would be more intimate. Besides, I plan to have you in the bed most of the time we’re in the room.”

“Oh, yeah? Doesn’t look like I’m there now,” she said, sending him a playful little smile.

“That’s a situation I’d be happy to rectify.”

A few hours later, Lewis ordered a big breakfast from room service, which they ate sitting in the fluffy hotel robes that had been hanging in the bathroom. Venetia felt more relaxed than she had in a long time, a feeling she’d long forgotten. Lewis was watching her eat, thinking he was the luckiest man alive.

“What do you want to do for the rest of the day?” Lewis asked, pushing his empty plate away.

“Well, I’d really like to go to the art museum,” she said, stacking her equally empty plate on top of his.

“I remember that you mentioned that specifically when we talked about New York before. I didn’t know you had an interest in art.”

“I used to paint when I was younger. I painted all through college, but when I got to medical school I had to give it up and I’ve never started again. But I would still love to see the museum.”

“I’d be happy to accompany you to the art museum, but first we’re going shopping. I also remember that it was another thing you wanted to do,” he said, pulling a credit card out of his pocket and sliding it across the table to her.

“Lewis, I can’t do that. I have some money I can spend.”

“Nope, this is my treat. Remember I’m spoiling you. What good is my money if I can’t spend it on things that make me happy?” he said, taking her hand. “And seeing you happy makes me happy. Don’t worry, I’ll help you. Plus, I could use a few things of my own.”

“Okay,” she said reluctantly. “But I’m not going to go crazy.”

“What fun would that be? Come on, let’s hit the shower and get out of here.”

Venetia did go a little crazy with some poking and prodding from Lewis. By the end of their little shopping spree, she had doubled her wardrobe, including a new selection of very fancy dresses. She’d tried to argue that she had plenty of nice dresses and that the ones he’d chosen were a bit too fancy for her.

“You’re going to need these. What are you wearing to the awards ceremony next month?” he asked, hands on his hips.

“Well, I just figured I’d find something in my closet,” she said, knowing that she wo
uld have been hunting the second hand shops for something.

“What were you going to wear tonight?” he asked.

“Oh, I hadn’t thought about tonight. Where are we going?” she asked, momentarily forgetting about the clothes, allowing Lewis to silently signal the salesgirl to ring them up.

“Dinner uptown and then a Broadway show. You’re going to need something like that,” he said, pointing to an evening gown.

“Okay, but just one,” she said, grinning.

Lewis sent the sales girl a look, and she quickly disappeared into the back of the store. “Venetia, will you just let me do this for you? I’m really a pretty frugal man, you’ll see that when I show you my house. But I have plenty of money, buying you some clothes isn’t going to make that much of a dent. These are gifts with no strings attached. If we stop seeing each other next week, I’ll still be happy I did this.”

She looked at him and saw that he spoke the truth. “Okay, I’ll let you. But only within reason.”

“But I’m also hoping that I’ll have lots of opportunities to take you places where you’ll need something like that slinky little black one,” he said, pulling her into his arms and kissing her right there in the store.

When they walked out of the store, Venetia was in one of her new outfits, feeling strangely empowered by the sudden upgrade in her wardrobe. Of course, she could never wear something like this to work, but it would be perfect for a dinner out with Lewis. After lunch in a cute little bistro, they spent the rest of the afternoon at the art museum, Lewis following Venetia from one floor to the other, enjoying watching her more than the art.

By the time they got back to the hotel late that afternoon, it was all Lewis could do to keep his hands off Venetia. Her hair that had been carefully put up in the salon at the department store, was coming down. Curly tendrils kissed her neck, drawing his eyes to that sensitive spot just above her collar bone.
