My First Half (Cate & Kian Book 1)

She tried to cover them up but Kian quickly spotted her nipples pushing against her jumper. “I think,” he pressed his lips against her neck. His warm breath on her sensitive skin did funny things to her lady parts. He brushed the pad of his thumb over her nipple, enjoying the way she instinctively arched her back towards him. “Somebody likes being sucked,” he murmured, tugging her earlobe with his teeth. Cate felt the low rumble of his voice right down in her core.
“I think,” she squirmed, her voice a little high-pitched, “you might be right.”
He came around to Cate’s side of the car, opened the door and lifted her up off the seat. “What are you doing?” Cate struggled. “You’ll hurt yourself, I’m too heavy now.”
“Angel,” Kian said, shutting the car door with his foot. “Shut up and let your husband look after you.”
He carried her upstairs to the bathroom and sat her down on the vanity unit. “Stay there while I run the bath.”
“You’re so bossy,” Cate teased, swinging her legs back and forth. “Maybe I don’t want a bath. I’m fine.”
Kian bent down and lifted up one of her feet. To get into the Christmas spirit and because she thought it might be a while before she could paint them again, she’d painted tiny sprigs of mistletoe on each of her toenails. He gently removed her sock and then rolled her jeans up to mid-calf so he could see her swollen ankle. “Sure you are. I know you like your job but don’t lie to me, angel.”
Once the bath was ready, Kian carried Cate into the bath and settled her down between his thighs. Cate leaned back against his chest and closed her eyes. She loved being wrapped up in Kian’s arms. The warm, lavender-scented water soothed her aching muscles. The only light in the room came from the row of flickering candles lining the side of the bathtub.
Kian stroked his hands lazily over the curve of his wife’s belly, lapping the water gently against the sides of the tub.
He loved stroking her bump. He would never admit it but Cate had brought out his inner caveman. He wanted everybody to know that Cate belonged to him. If another man looked at her, they could turn a blind eye to the wedding ring on her finger but they couldn’t ignore that beautiful, rounded belly filled with Kian’s child. He was the only man she’d let kiss those lips, the only man she’d let inside her. Just the thought of being inside her made him hard.
Cate didn’t want to upset the mood but she knew she had to tell Kian about Nick’s offer of drinks on Friday.
“It’s just a drink.” Cate felt him tense, his hands stilled on her belly.
“With Nick,” Kian frowned. “I don’t trust him.”
“I know,” Cate said softly. “But he’s my boss and it’s not going to be just the two of us. Chad and Molly will be there as well.”
“Take Erin with you.”
Cate balked at the idea; she was too old to need a babysitter. “It’s just a drink after work; I can’t ask if I can bring my brother’s wife with me. I didn’t ask you to take Liv with you to the Rovers Christmas party.”
“That’s different.”
As Cate opened her mouth to protest, Kian slid his tongue inside. He captured her mouth, kindling her desire with deliciously long strokes of his tongue as his hands slid up to her breasts.
He stroked her heavy, aroused breasts, teasing her nipples until they were distended and blood-filled.
Cate felt his erection against the small of her back.
The throbbing in her core intensified. His tongue inside her mouth was relentless. Her breasts were so tender that she felt every touch right down to her core. She brought her feet up towards her, planting the soles down on the base of the tub. Then she gripped the sides of the bath, lifting her hips up so the head of his thick cock slid down from the small of her back to her bottom.
As his cock pressed between her buttocks, Cate tilted forward. Her lips broke apart from Kian’s but she was desperate to find that release. His cock slipped further down, over her perineum and up to her clit. “Aah,” Cate cried. For the briefest of seconds, his cock was right where she needed it.
Suddenly it was gone. “No,” Cate felt tears of frustration trickle down her cheeks.
Kian lifted her up out of the water and sat her down on the tiled steps at the side of the tub. Cate felt on edge, every inch of her body needed that release. The cold of the tiles was doing nothing to quell the burning heat between her legs.
Kian wrapped a towel around his waist. Cate was gratified to see that his cock was still rock-hard.
He came towards her with a towel. “No,” Cate scowled. “Unless you’re going to give me orgasms, you don’t get to touch me.”
Kian lifted her up to standing and wrapped the soft, warm towel around Cate. “I never said I wasn’t going to give you orgasms,” he smiled against her skin.
He gently dried her off, avoiding her breasts and between her legs. “I’m not taking Erin with me.” Cate folded her arms across her chest.
“We’ll see,” Kian grinned. He dropped to his knees to dry her ankles and up her calves.
“I’m serious,” Cate scowled. She ran her fingers through his silky black hair and then tugged his head back so he had to look up at her.
“I know you are,” Kian replied.
He pulled open the towel, exposing her naked body. His eyes were drawn to that strip of jet-black hair between her legs. He put his hands on her buttocks, holding her in place as he leaned forward. Cate shuddered in anticipation, wet heat pooled between her legs.
Cate gripped on to his shoulders; she could already feel him right there. He ran the tip of his nose down the underside of her bump from her belly button to just above her cleft.
His breath brushed through her pubic hair, making her knees buckle. “Please,” Cate whimpered.
Kian pressed a chaste kiss at the top of her cleft.
Cate waited for more but he let go of her buttocks and calmly got up from the floor.
“So am I.”
“Fine,” Cate scowled. “If you’re going to be like that, I’ll do it myself.”
She went into the bedroom, opened the wardrobe and pulled the black box from the back of the drawer. When she glanced behind her, Kian was leaning against the doorframe; arms folded across his chest, his cock straining against the towel.
“Don’t even think about it,” he glowered.
Cate quickly lifted up the box lid and removed the device. “Mm,” she teased, licking her lips. She pushed a button and it began to pulsate against the palm of her hand.
Suddenly, the vibrator was jerked out of her hand and thrown across the bedroom floor. “I give you your orgasms.”
The vibrator was still whirring away, jerking around on the carpet on the other side of the bed. Cate bit her lip, trying really hard not to laugh at the foul look on Kian’s face. “Perhaps you should have turned it off first.”
“I’ll get it,” Cate volunteered.
“Don’t you dare,” Kian warned. He stalked around the side of the bed and picked up the offending item from the carpet. He pushed a button but that just made it jerk harder against his hand. “Stupid fucking thing,” he growled, stabbing at the base.
“Do you want me to show you how to switch it off?” Cate giggled.
Kian’s head shot up. “You’ve used it?”
Cate was so tempted to lie just to see the look on Kian’s face. “No, but I know what an off switch looks like.” She switched it off and it sat limply in Kian’s hand. “Poor thing,” Cate cooed, stroking the head.
“Hey,” Kian pouted. He tossed the vibrator back on the floor and scooped Cate up in his arms.
“Are you going to give me my orgasms now?” Cate asked cheekily.
“That depends,” Kian said. He pulled back the duvet and laid Cate down in the centre of the bed. “Are you going to take Erin with you on Friday night?”
Cate frowned. “You have to trust me.”
Kian straddled her hips and shrugged off the towel around his waist. His cock stood glorious
ly erect against his stomach. Cate drank in every inch of her husband’s incredibly sexy, naked body.
He wrapped his hand around the base of his cock. “I could always jerk myself off?”
“No,” Cate protested. She placed her hands over his, stilling them. “I need you.”
Kian lifted her hands up to his lips and kissed each of her knuckles. “What do you need?”
She tugged him down on top of her, his cock digging hard into her stomach. “I need you inside me.”
Kian lifted her hands up above her head and pressed them down into the mattress. “What if I ask Erin to give me a lift home?” Cate asked.
“If I agree…” Kian slid his cock between her legs.
“Aah,” Cate bucked underneath him.
“Fuck, you’re wet,” he groaned from the back of his throat. He circled his hips, coating his cock in her arousal.
“I told you,” Cate cried. He brought his lips down to hers and she tugged at his bottom lip with her teeth. “Please.”
“If I agree,” Kian started again. “Does that mean we can stop talking about this and I can focus on giving my sexy-ass wife her orgasms?”
“Yes.”
“It’s a deal then,” Kian grunted. He captured Cate’s mouth, swallowing her cries as he inched his cock inside of her. Fuck, she felt good. “Wrap your legs around me, angel.”
“It’s ridiculous,” Cate complained, when she bumped into Erin the following morning.
“He worries about you,” Erin said, trying to act as peacemaker. “You’re pregnant.”
“I’m not going bungee jumping,” Cate frowned, resting her hand on her bump. “I’d never put my baby at risk. It’s just drinks with people I work with.”
CHAPTER 33
On Friday night, after they’d closed up the Tavern, Cate and Nick walked down Boulder Street to the Finch, where they were meeting up with Chad and Molly.
“Over here guys,” Molly called when they walked in. It was busy but Molly had snagged them a table. “Chad’s at the bar.”
“Cool,” Nick said. “J20?” He went over to join Chad at the bar.
“I love your bump,” Molly said excitedly as Cate shrugged off her coat. “May I?”
Cate still wasn’t comfortable with people touching her all the time but at least Molly had asked first so she said, “sure, go ahead.”
“Ooh, do you know what you’re having?”
“No,” Cate said. “Kian thinks we’re having a girl though.”
They chatted some more about the baby and then Chad and Nick came back with the drinks.
“Guess who came in the store yesterday?” Molly said, bouncing up and down in her seat with excitement. “Only McThievy.”
Molly was convinced that this guy, who’d been caught shoplifting from them a couple of months ago, looked exactly like Patrick Dempsey.
“Did he buy anything this time?” Nick frowned.
“He did,” Molly said. She pulled a slip of paper out of her pocket; she’d written down which books he’d bought.
“Brilliant,” Nick said sarcastically. “He bought a book about the Criminal Justice System.”
After a couple of drinks, Cate began to feel tired. The others were going to have one more drink at the Finch before they moved on somewhere else so Cate texted Erin, asking her to come pick her up.
“I’ll walk you out,” Nick offered.
Suddenly the perfect gentleman, Nick picked up her coat and helped her put it on. Cate said goodbye to Chad and Molly and then she and Nick went outside to wait for Erin.
“Are you going to your parents for Christmas?” Cate asked, watching the road for Erin.
Nick didn’t answer and when she turned to look at him, he was looking at her strangely. “Have I…?”
“Stay still, you’ve got a loose eyelash,” Nick gently removed it from her cheek and then he held it up. “Make a wish.”
Cate was about to blow when he stopped her, “you’ve got to close your eyes or it won’t come true.”
Cate closed her eyes and was just about to blow when she felt something on her lips. Nick’s lips. He was kissing her. Ugh, as soon as she could she pushed him away.
“Why would you do that?” Cate asked him angrily. She frantically rubbed at her lips, trying to get rid of the taste of him. “I’m married.”
“But you’re not happy, are you?” Nick said. “Didn’t he only marry you because you got pregnant?”
Cate was about to slap him when she felt a hand on her arm. It was Erin. By the look on her face, she’d seen the kiss. “I had to park around the corner,” Erin said softly but she didn’t let go of Cate’s arm. “Let’s go.”
How did that happen? Cate racked her brain trying to think if she’d led him on in any way.
When they got in the car, Erin didn’t start the engine right away. “Are you and Nick…?”
“Ugh, no,” Cate said as fast as she could, just the idea was repulsive. “No way.”
Kian had to attend a dinner at the Rovers Stadium with the rest of the team. “How much longer until we can get out of here?” Kian nudged Yoakey as the waiters collected their empty plates.
“Fuck knows,” Yoakey shrugged. He took another sip of mineral water. “How’s your girl doing? Sara’s been kicking my ass to invite you guys over.”
“Yeah, she’s good,” Kian smiled.
“Hey man, did I tell you we found out we’re having a boy?” Yoakey retrieved his wallet from his jacket pocket. “Sometimes you can’t tell straight away but one look and they just knew, it’s my son of course he’s going to be hung like a donkey.”
“You’re an ass,” Kian laughed. “I’m pleased for you though. Cate’s determined not to find out until the baby’s born but I think we’re having a girl.”
“That’s cute,” Yoakey smiled. “Who knows maybe one day my son will date your daughter?”
“My daughter,” Kian frowned. “Is not going to date until she’s at least 30.”
“That right there, my friend, is why I am so glad we’re having a boy. Girls are trouble with a capital T.”
Yoakey suddenly started laughing. “Look at us, man. We used to talk about cars, tits and pussy. Now we’re sharing sonogram pictures and making dinner plans. We are seriously whipped, man. When the fuck did that happen?”
“I think it’s that damn L word,” Kian laughed.
“Now that was a great TV show,” Yoakey wiggled his eyebrows.
Yoakey’s phone started ringing. “It’s Sara, man. I gotta take this.”
While Yoakey went to find an empty corridor, Kian pulled out his phone and sent Cate a quick text. She replied back almost immediately. “Just closing up. I’ll be fine, have fun and I’ll see you at home.”
“Naked?” Kian texted back.
“We’ll see,” Cate texted back with a wink.
Kian felt a hand on his shoulder. “So I heard you got married,” Alice said softly.
“Yeah,” Kian shrugged, like it was no big deal. He wanted to keep Cate as far away from this world as possible.
“So where is she?” Alice looked around. “Your wife?”
“She’s at home,” Kian replied, checking his watch.
Alice laughed. “She let you out on your own? What a silly, little girl.”
“You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about,” Kian snapped. “Cate trusts me.”
“Then she’s even more of a fool than I first thought.”
Kian kept his voice low, “what are you even doing here, Alice?”
“Aren’t you happy to see me?” Alice pouted. She ran her fingers down the length of his club tie. “Your sister invited me. Jack’s in Barbados with his family so…”
Jack was the married Hollywood actor Alice had been seeing for the last 3 years.
“Hey Alice,” Yoakey interrupted, returning to the table. “I didn’t know you were back in town.”
“Yeah,” Alice replied, “just for a couple of days. Meg’s got laryngit
is so we finally get some time off.”
“That’s cool,” Yoakey nodded. “I’d love to stay and catch up but the gaffer’s given us the nod so I’m heading out.”
“I’m going too,” Kian said quickly, grabbing his suit jacket from the back of the chair. “Big game tomorrow.”
“That’s perfect,” Alice smiled. She quickly linked her arm through Kian’s. “You can walk me to my car? For old times’ sake?”
When they got to the main entrance, they split up as Yoakey’s car was parked on the other side of the ground. “See you tomorrow,” Yoakey said.
“Call me,” Alice cooed, air-kissing Yoakey on both cheeks. Behind Alice’s back, he mouthed “Trouble.”
Kian shrugged. There was nothing he could do; Alice had a tight grip of his arm. He just had to grit his teeth and get her to her car as quickly as possible.
Already in a bad mood, he dragged Alice towards where she’d said her car was parked. He couldn’t stop thinking about Cate being with Nick. Fuck, he hated that guy.
Alice had overdone it with the perfume and it was making his eyes water. As he reached up to rub his eyes, suddenly there was a wall of photographers right up in his face. He turned his head for a split second and Alice’s lips were on his.
Kian pushed her away. “What the fuck are you doing?”
Alice smiled sweetly. “Don’t cause a scene in front of the paps, you’ll only make it worse.”
“Alice, love, are you two back together?”
Alice snuggled up to Kian. “Now boys, you know I don’t kiss and tell.”
“Where’s your car?” Kian asked through gritted teeth.
“Oopsie,” Alice giggled. “I guess I didn’t bring my car after all. Can you give me a lift back to my hotel?”
“No fucking way,” Kian said quietly.
“If you leave me here all alone, I’ll have to call a taxi and they can take a long time to arrive, you know. Oh well, never mind, at least the paps will keep me company. I bet they’d like to know all about your child bride?”
Kian grabbed her arm. “Leave my wife out of this.”
“Take me back to my hotel then,” Alice said.
