“I love you,” she whispered back, and squeezed my hand. The minister finally began the service, and we both recited our vows to each other when the time came. Everyone was crying, including me. I had never been happier in my life than I was right at that moment. I had found my dream girl, we were becoming husband and wife, and she was carrying our children. I really was the luckiest man on earth.
Before I knew it, the ceremony was over, and I heard the minister day, “By the powers vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Liam, you may kiss your bride,” he said, and wasting no time, I pulled her close to me and planted a kiss on her that made everyone laugh and cheer. I dipped her low and she laughed as we stood back straight.
I then leaned in and kissed her belly, saying, “Daddy didn’t forget his boys, love you too,” and Rory smiled at me when I stood back up straight. We walked back down the aisle and as soon as we were out in the lobby, I pulled her into my arms and kissed her like I wanted to since I first saw her. Our tongues danced together for a moment before I released her, leaving her breathless. “Hello, Mrs. Tanner,” I said, smiling.
She smiled her mega-watt smile at me. “Hello, husband,” she said. “I can’t believe we are finally married. I’m so happy.”
“I know. You just made me the happiest man in the world, but in four months, I might say that again when we meet our boys for the first time.”
“I love you so much,” she said.
“I love you too, angel. So, are you ready to party?”
She took my hand and said, “Not yet. Come on. Let’s go make out in a closet until it’s time to go to our reception.” I laughed and tugged her hand down the hall.
“Here we are, the honeymoon suite, thank God!” Rory said. “As beautiful as the wedding and reception was, I am so glad it’s over so we can get to the good stuff,” she said as I swiped the card key through the door and opened it. I led her into the room and put our bags down. As soon as I shut the door, I walked to her and picked her up into my arms. She giggled as I carried her to the bed. “Babe, you don’t have to carry me! Besides, I am getting as big as a whale and I am going to be so embarrassed if you trip while you are walking.”
I smiled and laid her on the bed. “You are not big Rory, not at all. You are so fucking beautiful, and that belly makes you look so sexy,” I said. “Now, come here and let me get you out of that dress,” I said, and she leaned up and pulled her hair to the side.
“By all means, hubby, have at it.” I wrapped my arms around her back and slid the zipper down her back, and when it was down, she wiggled out of it and laid back so I could take it the rest of the way off. My eyes popped wide as I stared at her naked, full breasts and my eyes roamed down past her belly and saw she was wearing tiny white panties and white stockings. I hooked my fingers into her panties and stripped them off her, taking her shoes off as well. I slowly peeled off her stockings and soon she was lying on the bed completely naked and looking more beautiful than I ever remembered. “Okay, now it’s your turn, babe. Lose the tux,” she said, smiling. She didn’t have to tell me twice. I slid off my jacket and loosened my tie, and I could see desire in her eyes while she watched me undress. I felt myself get harder as she licked her lips while I slipped out of my shirt and pants. Finally, once the socks, shoes, and boxers were gone, I walked over to the bed and laid down next to my beautiful wife.
I ran my fingers across her cheek and she raised her hand to mine. She held my hand for a moment before kissing my wedding ring, and she smiled. “I love you so, so much,” I said, and I lowered my mouth to hers. I touched her tongue with mine, and she opened her mouth wider as I slid my tongue the rest of the way in. She moaned lightly and bit my bottom lip. I wanted tonight to be the most romantic night of her life, but I knew that when she bit my lip that meant she wanted to play. Since she started to get bigger I was definitely more turned on, but I had been going slower in bed so I wouldn’t hurt her, but tonight, she wasn’t having any of that.
I ran my hand along her breasts, past her round stomach, and finally stopped at her slick folds, which were already soaking wet. “Mm, I love that you are already turned on and ready,” I said, and she bucked her hips off the bed. I ran my fingers along the outside and teased her.
“Come on, babe, don’t tease me,” she begged, and I slid two fingers into her, making her cry out. She felt so fucking hot and wet, and by the way she was tugging my hair and wasn’t going to let me have fun and take my time. “God, baby, that feels so good. Please, Liam, I want you inside me,” she whimpered.
“You sure you don’t want to play?” I asked, prolonging her sexual agony as my fingers swirled around inside her.
“No, baby, please, I need to feel you,” she moaned.
While she was laying back, I withdrew my fingers and rolled on top of her, hovering over her so I wouldn’t press on her swollen stomach. She parted her legs wide for me and guided them up as high as they would go. I leaned my face to hers and I captured her mouth once more before I slid my cock inside her hot wet entrance. We both cried out from the feeling, and once I started to move we both lost ourselves in the sheer pleasure of our love. I lost myself in her, having some of the best sex ever with my gorgeous wife on our honeymoon. I really and truly felt that life was only going to get better from here on out. I was coming home every night to my own personal goddess, and that home would soon be filled with the pitter patter of little feet, and I couldn’t wait.
January
“Okay, it’s official. We have packed our last box,” Rory said, sealing a big cardboard box with packing tape. “We are officially ready to move out.” She sighed loudly and looked around the empty apartment. Rory and I both agreed we didn’t want to bring the twins home from the hospital to a studio apartment in the Village, so we looked around and found a house on Long Island that we loved. It was in a nice neighborhood, and it had a three car garage, swimming pool, huge yard, and was big enough to add to our family if we wanted to later. The house was absolutely perfect for our family.
“What’s wrong, angel?” I asked, helping her up off the couch. I placed my hand on her belly and gave it a rub.
“Nothing’s wrong, I’m excited about the new house and to get everything set up. It’s just…” she broke off, “I’m really going to miss this place.” I could hear the emotion in her voice and I knew the tears would come. Dr. Jennings said the babies were growing right on schedule and the pregnancy had been textbook so far, but since Rory was so small and was all belly, she was concerned that Rory might not make it until her actual due date, so we were trying to get to thirty seven weeks. Rory had been emotional all through the pregnancy, but now with only six weeks until her scheduled cesarean section, she was becoming a tearful, crying, sobbing mess.
“Aw, baby,” I said, kissing her forehead, “it will be okay. You know that this isn’t the place we wanted to bring our children home to, right?”
“I know, and I don’t want that. I want them to grow up in a safe place where they can play in the front yard and ride their bikes up and down the street. It’s just that…” she sniffed.
“Just what, sweetie?”
“We began here, Liam. You and me. The night I spanked your ass in pool and you brought me here and took care of me. The first time we made love. Our first fight. The first place we lived together as a married couple. It’s all here,” she said, and she started to cry.
I wrapped my arms around her and rubbed her back, which was working overtime since the twins were getting bigger every day. “Yes, we did begin here, and I’m always going to have a soft spot in my heart for this place. But, just imagine all of the new memories we will make in our new home. Bringing the boys home from the hospital. Seeing them take their first steps. The first time they learn how to ride a bike or play baseball. All of that will happen at our new home.”
She breathed deeply and leaned into me. “I know, and you’re right. I can’t wait for all those moments. I guess I’m
just feeling emotional. Big surprise, I know,” she said, and we laughed. “Thank you, Liam,” she said, and suddenly there was a knock at the door. I let go of Rory and opened it to find the moving company had arrived to help us get the rest of our things. Rory kicked into gear and let the movers know where everything was supposed to go at the new house and which things were fragile. As soon as everything was out of the apartment, we took one last look around and I held her hand. “You ready to go, baby?”
She breathed in deeply, and let out a long breath. “Yes. Let’s go home,” she said, and we walked out of our first home for the last time.
“Come on, Liam, I want to get to the new house,” Rory said. “I mean, I’m glad you insisted on taking me to dinner before we go there, but I am anxious to get settled and unpack. I think I might be nesting a little bit early,” she said.
“I know, angel, and we’re heading there now. I just wanted to take a minute out with you and make sure you got something to eat before we head there and start unpacking. We can go,” I said, motioning for the waiter to bring our check as Rory slid into her coat. As soon as I paid the bill, I helped her up from her chair and we walked hand in hand out to my car. As much as I hated to admit it, I knew that it was time to do the minivan thing to better accommodate our growing family. Rory was having a hard time fitting into Elvira now, but I wasn’t ready to let this lady go yet, so I had went out and bought a brand new Town & Country for Rory to be able get around in, and was about to surprise her with it. I also had another surprise for her. I took her to dinner as a way to kill time while our families were at the new house getting everything set up. Surprisingly, Rory had decided she didn’t really want a baby shower, deciding instead to just invite all of our friends and family over for a celebratory dinner/housewarming party once we got settled in. She didn’t know, however, that everyone was already there and by the time we got home, our new house would be completely unpacked, including the most special room in the whole house.
Rory squeezed into the car and I ran over to the driver’s side and slid in. once I started the engine, we drove all the way to our new home. Once we got onto our new street and pulled up into the driveway of the house, I smiled as Rory’s eyes fell on the brand new silver minivan with a huge red bow on the hood. “What the hell is that?” she asked, smiling.
“Well, we can’t move out to a nice neighborhood in Long Island and not have the best minivan on the block,” I said, and she grinned. As I parked the car in the driveway, I got out and helped Rory out of her seat and we walked over to the car. “Do you like it?”
“I love it, babe! It’s perfect, thank you!” she squealed, and wrapped her arms around me. “Aw, look,” she said, letting go and peeking through the window. “You already have their car seats installed and everything! You even bought the ones I wanted. Thank you so much, Liam,” she said, and planted a hard kiss on my lips.
“Anything for you, angel,” I said, and I hugged her tightly before running a hand over her belly again. Rory suddenly started to look around and frowned. “What is it?”
Her brows furrowed. “I thought the movers would be here by now with our stuff. I wonder where they are.”
I shrugged my shoulders. “Hmm, I don’t know. Why don’t we go in and call them and find out where they are? We need to get in out of the cold anyway,” I said, ushering her toward the door. I smiled at her and put the key into the door and unlocked it. “After you, Mrs. Tanner,” I said, and she walked in the house and I followed behind her.
As soon as I flicked on the lights, there was a big loud “Surprise!” coming from around the living room, and Rory jumped back in surprise. Standing around our new freshly unpacked living room was everyone we loved. My parents, Rory’s dad, Brody, Marissa, Nick, Samantha, Emily, Fiona, Nicole, Brian, and a few of our new neighbors that were on hand to welcome us to the neighborhood. They hung a “Welcome Home” sign above our fireplace which was already crackling and warm. Rory looked at me, stunned. “Babe! Did you know about this?”
“Of course I did,” I said, and she smiled. “Since you really didn’t want a baby shower and wanted to have a get together instead, I decided that my gift to you would be to have everyone come over and unpack for you so you didn’t have to. Trust me, it was done to your specifications,” I said and she giggled.
She hugged me and kissed my lips. “Thank you, babe, this is amazing,” she said. We then went to mingle with everyone and enjoy our new house.
After visiting for a few hours, Rory was starting to get sleepy and that was everyone’s cue to head out. After everyone said goodbye and the house was quiet, Rory yawned. “Sheesh, these babies are starting to wear me out more and more every day,” she muttered. “I don’t know if I will be able to keep my eyes open to clean up all of this,” she said, waving her hand toward the empty plates and glasses on the kitchen table.
“Rory, we can get to that in the morning. You are tired and you need your rest. Come on, let’s get you up to bed, and I’ll take care of this in the morning,” I said, and I stood and walked over to her chair and helped her up. We turned out the lights and began to climb the stairs, with me helping Rory as she waddled up the steps. God damn it, she was so cute. Once we reached the top, Rory was heading to the bedroom that she wanted as ours, but I grabbed her hand. “Wait, I want to show you something.”
“What is it, babe?” she asked.
“Close your eyes,” I said, and she cocked an eyebrow at me. “Trust me.”
“It’s not another surprise, is it?” she laughed. “Because, I’ve got to tell you, after a brand spanking new minivan and a completely unpacked house full of all new things, I don’t think I can take any more surprises today.”
“This is the last one, I promise,” I laughed. “And it’s the best one.”
She sighed and shut her eyes. “All right,” she said. I covered her eyes with one hand, and with the other I led her to a room that was right across the hall from ours. I reached out and opened the door and let her inside. Once I had her positioned right where I wanted her, I flicked on the lights and took my hand down that was covering her eyes. “Okay, open your eyes,” I said.
When she did, she gasped and put her hand to her mouth, tears flowing freely. “Liam…” she whispered, “it…it’s perfect.” We were standing in the boy’s nursery and she was right, it was perfect. I had come to the house a few days early with Brody and Nick and we spent the whole day setting it up while Rory was having a girl day with Marissa and Samantha. Rory, being a Yankees fan, had decided on a baseball theme for their nursery. Their cribs were all decked out in soft blue colored crib sets with little baseballs and baseball bats all over them. The changing tables were stocked with everything we would need to change their diapers, there were two light blue gliders in each corner, and the walls were painted sky blue with decals of baseballs, bats, mitts, and Yankees logos and pendants. The boy’s names, which we had already picked out, were spelled out above their cribs. We were keeping them a secret, so I had hung the letters up after Brody and Nick were already gone. I looked at her looking around the room, and her face was wet with her tears.
“So, I take it you like it, then?” I asked.
She nodded and sniffed. “Liam, this is amazing. This is exactly what I wanted for their nursery. Thank you so, so much,” she said.
I stood before her and wiped her cheeks with my hands. “I told you before that I would do anything to make you happy, and I meant that. I love you,” I said, and I kissed her.
“And I love you too, babe.” We held each other for a few minutes before she quickly pulled away. “Come on, let’s go break in our new bed,” she said, pulling me toward the door.
I laughed. “I thought you were tired.”
“I’m wide awake now. Come on, Tanner, let’s go,” she said, and we quickly went across the hall toward our new bedroom, where we spent the night christening our new favorite room in the house.
I really and truly felt that life was only going
to get better from here on out. I got to come home every night to my own personal goddess who was about to give birth to our two beautiful boys, and our home would soon be filled with the pitter patter of little feet, and I couldn’t wait. Rory once told me that I brought her back to life, but I think we brought each other back in our own ways, and I would never stop being grateful to her.
Epilogue
Rory
March
“Are you sure we have everything we need?” I asked, my eyes wide and roaming all over the room, looking for something we might be forgetting. It was March sixth…D-Day as we had affectionately started calling it. Liam and I were on our way out the door to my scheduled C-section. In a few hours, I would finally meet my baby boys.
Liam walked over to me, his shoulders heavy with all of the bags we would need during my hospital stay. “We went over our checklist last night and this morning. Twice. Don’t worry, angel,” he said, kissing me. “We have absolutely everything we could need or want.” As he ushered me toward the door, he looked at me and asked, “So, are you ready to meet our boys today?”
I nodded, smiling. “Definitely. I can’t wait to hold them in my arms,” I said, and as soon as he opened the door, I walked through and down the steps. The weather felt great outside already. Even though spring wasn’t officially here for another two weeks, we had had a pretty mild winter this year. I was more than happy to be bringing the babies into the world on such a beautiful day. I waddled to the car as Liam locked the door and I smiled at all of our neighbors that were outside waving us off.
“Congratulations, to you both!” yelled Mr. Carson, a cute little old man that lived across the street. “You make sure and bring them boys by once you’re home and rested!”
