"Hmm, Mr. Norman, when did this invitation card…"

The secretary finally saw the invitation card which showed up out of nowhere in Norman's hands as well and asked with mild wonder.

  "None of your business."

Before she could finish the question, Norman shot her an icy glare.

The secretary quickly realized her mistake and quickly swallowed the words that were about to come out of her lips.

She had undergone professional training and knew better than to ask questions she should not ask. She accidentally blurted the question because of how surprised she was by the card that was not in the boss' hands just ten minutes ago.

Norman waited until she went back to her seat before delicately inspecting the invitation card.

To be able to sneak past his elite bodyguards and this foolish woman, and deliver this invitation card right into his hands. Regardless of how the other person had pulled this off, this invitation card was certainly worth a look at.

On the invitation card's cover was a strange logo. It depicted a mechanical arm trying to touch a human's arm and right below the logo was a short sentence:

"The Holy Ground of Science, Forbidden Zone of God."

Norman was never a particularly devout Christian. He instinctively frowned when he saw the logo.

"What audacity. Are these slogans and logos supposed to imply that science could replace God?"

Norman mumbled to himself and scoffed before flipping to the first page.

Suddenly, a paragraph of text written with a gel pen was revealed before him.

These passages did not seem to be anything out of the ordinary. However, upon closer inspection, he was able to tell there was something extraordinary about them.

The size of each letter, the spaces between each letter and sentence, and the strokes of each letter – they were all nearly completely identical.

Even the most experienced calligrapher who spent decades honing their craft could not write two completely identical letters. This had nothing to do with technique, it was merely a matter of the lack of human control over their muscles

The only way someone could pull a feat like this off was if they had extremely precise control over their muscles down to the most minute detail.

Did someone like this exist in the world?

Norman may have his doubts in the past but now he was left with no choice but to believe it. The evidence was presented right before him in the form of the extreme precision of each letter like they were printed out with a printer.

Anyone could tell that this was not the work of a printer because each letter oozed a distinct personal style. Each stroke performed was bold and distinct, this was not something a computer could simply mimic.

Who in the world was able to produce such a bizarre letter?

Norman took in a deep breath. He could tell his interest in this invitation letter was growing with each passing second.

  "Dear Mr. Norman Foster:"

"If you're reading this letter now, it'd mean that it was successfully delivered into your hands. Please do forgive our manners in not presenting ourselves properly in the delivery of the letter.

"As you can tell, we're an organization that goes by the name 'God's Forbidden Zone'. We're an organization comprised of members seeking the key to extending our lifespan. Our goal is to overcome the Hayflick limit imposed on the human body and subsequently attain that which only the divine beings have access to – Immortality.

"As a step toward this plan, we have launched the 'Mankind Anti-aging Project". The project includes hundreds of scientific and technological projects that serve to prolong the human lifespan. The current implemented ones include Aging Reversal Therapy, Cloned Organ Transplantation, Alzheimer Reversal Therapy, Neural Stem Cell Connection Regeneration, Cancerous Cyclin-dependent Kinases, and various others amounting to thirteen in total.

"Among these mentioned projects, the 'Aging Reversal Therapy' and 'Cloned Organ Transplantation' have proved to be a success. We believe that used in conjunction, these two technological breakthroughs will be able to extend the natural lifespan of a person by more than thirty years.

"We've made sure to enclose a portion of the relevant details regarding these two techniques employed. If you don't find these data to be convincing, please log in to the URL provided in the invitation card to view the relevant video data of these two techniques.

"If you find yourself intrigued by our projects, please do contact us on our website."

It was concluded with the signature of God's Forbidden Zone.

Norman felt his eyes twitching involuntarily by the time he had finished reading the contents.

He had to admit that when he saw the text reading "Aging Reversal Therapy", he could feel his heart skipping a beat even when he thought he had come to terms with his own mortality.

This sense of intrigue was immediately followed by suspicions.

  Scam organization?

This was not the first time Norman had encountered such a scenario.

Even in his social circle, there had been similar cases. Several billionaire associates of his stumbled into some organization along the lines of the Alcor Life Extension Foundation. They were persuaded into investing tens of millions into the foundation only to have them run away with the cheque in just two days. These few billionaires were turned into a laughingstock of the business world overnight.

Norman would not have his long-standing legacy crumble to dust overnight.

  Still…

What if they were telling the truth?

Norman fell silent for a moment before breaking into a bitter laugh. Even if there was a chance this organization turned out to be a scam, was he going to just stand by idly?

Norman fixed his gaze on the texts which read "Extend the natural lifespan of a person by more than thirty years".

He was a ripe sixty-nine-year-old today. Even though he was still largely healthy, how long was this going to last?

He was no longer the young man he was. Perhaps he could live another ten to twenty years or maybe he would be struck by a terrible illness the very next day. Who could have a read on these things?

Norman heaved an exasperated sigh when he thought of this and got up from his chair. "Emily, bring me my son, Leo."

  "Got it, Mr. Norman."

  Chapter 106: Leo |

  "Father, you called for me?"

In a short while, a tall, broad middle-aged man with handsome features came in.

He was probably in his forties, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He looked like a typical Caucasian and had a confident, noble manner.

  "Leo, you're here."

Norman waved away his secretary. "Emily, leave us for now."

  "Yes."

The secretary nodded at once and quickly left the room, closing the door gently behind her.

The man called Leo made a startled expression and finally turned solemn. He swiftly walked to his father and asked in a low voice, "Did something happen?"

"Look at this." Norman looked up and handed over the invitation letter he was holding.

After exchanging a glance with his father, Leo suddenly noticed that his father was a little different than usual. There seemed to be something unusual in those eyes.

  A piercing sort of glint.

When Leo was young, he had often seen this same glint. Nonetheless, as his father grew older, it became rare for Leo to see this glint in Norman's eyes.

This was because each time this glint appeared in Norman's eyes, it meant that he had made a profound decision…

Was this related to the invitation letter?

Leo's heart thumped and he quickly turned the letter around.

At first, Leo merely frowned but as he kept reading, astonishment bloomed in his eyes. By the end, even his breathing had become heavy…

Twenty minutes later, Leo finally put the letter down with a serious expression. "Father, where did this invitation letter come from?"

&
nbsp; "I don't know either."

Norman lowered his gaze. It was difficult to make out what he was thinking. "They found a way to evade the attention of everyone around me and placed this in my very hands twenty minutes ago."

"That's impossible!" Leo blurted out, "Perhaps they used a drone or bribed one of the bodyguards?"

"Are you doubting my judgment?" Norman narrowed his eyes.

"I wouldn't be so bold!" Leo hurriedly bowed his head.

"I know this is difficult to believe, but it is what it is…"

Norman pointed at the closed door. "I was lying here just now and only Emily was in the room. In other words, they may have the ability to avoid all of my bodyguards and easily kill me."

"They're threatening you?" Leo's expression grew darker.

  "I think that's what they're suggesting."

Norman slowly stood up. "Go and contact a biological expert. I want to know whether this technology is genuine and… Whether it can be replicated."

  …

A few hours later, an old man in a large white coat showed up in Norman's presidential office.

He sat in front of the computer, watching all the videos with a somber expression. Then, he flipped through the material in his hands with a disgruntled look before putting it down reluctantly.

"Mr. Moss, is it possible that this technology is falsified?" On one side, Leo asked quickly.

"I can locate no traces of fraud."

The old man sighed and got up from his seat. "Although it's rather inconceivable, its principles are in fact feasible. There may just be some technical aspects that require further research."

"If I hand over this material to you, can you replicate the same technology?" Norman asked casually.

"I have high hopes!" The old man's eyes lit up. "These two reports have inspired me immensely. If I were to conduct the research, I'd only need five years and a billion USD of funding to replicate the first technology!"

Upon hearing this, Norman and his son looked at each other, both noticing the rueful light in each other's eyes.

  "Just the first technology?"

  "Erm…"

The old man explained awkwardly, "Perhaps you think that the second technology appears to be simpler than the first since it's just about the cultivation of clones. However, the difficulty lies in the machine which they called the 'Life Incubator'. I don't know how this machine solves the problem of in vitro cultivation, but as far as I know, this will remain impossible across the entire Federation for ten years."

  "Alright, we understand."

Norman nodded at Leo, who immediately walked forward and ushered the old man out of the room. "Mr. Moss, you did a good job. I'll send the hush money and service fee to your account. However, about what you saw here, please keep a lid on it. Otherwise, you know what will happen…"

"Mr. Leo, won't you consider letting me replicate this technology? I can…"

"We'll talk about this next time." Leo was unyielding as he sent out the old man. Following that, he shot a look at the two bodyguards.

The bodyguards nodded wordlessly and exited the room too.

After sending away the expert, Leo returned to Norman. He was about to say something when he noticed his father's contemplative expression.

After a long while, Norman heaved a heavy sigh. He looked up at his son. "Leo, does the website mention how they can be contacted?"

"They've listed a date and address."

Leo turned on the computer and confirmed this. "The date is 30 May, ten days later, and the address is… Walvis Bay, Namibia, Africa."

  "Ten days, huh?"

Norman frowned, then looked somberly at Leo. "Leo, I'll arrange for you and Jesse to go there. I want to know if their projects are genuine or just a scam."

  "Understood, Father."

Leo nodded and lowered his eyes.

When his powerful father gave a command, he could only obey.

After deciding this, Norman lay back in his recliner once again and flipped through the invitation letter as if he wanted to engrave each word into his mind.

Seeing this, Leo knew it was time for him to leave.

He cast a final glance at the invitation letter, after which he turned to leave the office and close the door gently.

Perhaps he had imagined it, but in the instant that he closed the door, he seemed to see a flash of greed in his father's eyes.

  …

Seeing that both of them had set the scene, Cheng Cao, who was in cloaked form, turned and left the office noiselessly with the help from the GS Combat Suit.

Even so, he did not go far but hid in the vicinity of the Financial City, ready to move at any time.

After all, someone as cautious as Chen Chen would never reveal his hand when his target's intention was still unknown. Even if he was exposed, Chen Chen would have some form of a contingency plan.

This time, in addition to the B.S.S. team members led by Cheng Cao who were equipped with GS Combat Suits, Little X was also monitoring Norman's phone records at all times.

If Norman's decision was not to cooperate but to become Chen Chen's opponent, Cheng Cao would use the memory eraser to remove their previous recollections.

To improve the efficiency of this operation, Chen Chen had extracted five cloaking devices for the other five team members. These cloaking devices from Predator were only as large as a longan fruit. They were easily portable and required only a tiny amount of electricity to extract.

Chen Chen had also considered the Controller device from Gantz, which had a cloaking ability too. Still, that device had to be worn on the arm and its mass and volume far exceeded the cloaking device from Predator. In the end, Chen Chen had ruled it out.

In this manner, Cheng Cao and his five teammates had delivered eleven invitation letters to eleven plutocrats in batches. When the day of the appointment arrived, everyone would gather at Walvis Bay, Namibia.

At that time, the stage would be Chen Chen's.

Chapter 107: The Meeting Begins |

  Ten days later.

When Leo Foster had arrived at Walvis Bay under the pretext of a vacation, the family butler, Jesse, had arrived a day earlier and booked a luxury room in a hotel.

However, Leo had obtained another piece of news from Jesse.

"Really, a biological company named 'Blackwatch' has a research center nearby?"

Leo wore a pensive look. "Does their logo feature two hands?"

"No, Young Master. This company's logo is a pitch-dark black hole," Jesse replied.

  "That's weird."

Leo frowned. "No matter what, this company is the most suspicious one. Keep investigating!"

  "Yes, Young Master."

After Jesse had left, Leo logged onto the website on the invitation again. However, after he had entered the verification code, he received this message at once —

  "22:00."

Twenty-two and zero, what would that mean?

When he saw this new message, Leo instinctively checked his watch. Right now, it was nine-twenty at night in Namibia. There was still forty minutes to ten.

"Are they saying that they'll meet me at this time?"

Leo scowled. He was not fond of their little games. If it were not for the fact that they might possess the technology to extend one's lifespan, he would have left already.

As for whether they might harbor malicious intentions, Leo was not too worried. As long as they were not incredibly stupid, they would know that kidnapping members of the Foster family from the European Continent would not do any good.

In this manner, Leo waited for forty minutes. When it was ten at night sharp, a sleek black car emerged from the darkness and came to a stop before Leo's hotel.

  "Ring ring…"

At the same time, Leo's phone rang.

He picked up the phone and noticed that the caller ID was blank. He accepted the call distrustfully and a young, masculine voice immediately piped up from the phone.

  "Mr. Leo Foster, I'm
the spokesperson for God's Forbidden Zone."

  "So, it's really you!"

Leo was fed up with this kind of aimless waiting and hurriedly urged. "I have arrived at Walvis Bay according to the address you provided. Can we meet now?"

"Your ride has arrived downstairs, Mr. Foster."

Leo quickly walked to the window upon hearing these words. He opened the curtains and looked down to spot a black car parked outside the hotel. Against the backdrop of the night, it was like a black ghost.

"You want me to get in that car?" Leo's expression was uncertain.

"We're not forcing you. The car we've sent can also just guide the way," the voice answered.

"Let's do that then. I'll be down at once."

After Leo thought about it, he did not risk it in the end. Although it was important to maintain some poise, it was more important to stay safe.

He called Jesse and after a moment, Jesse came over with a group of bodyguards. "Young Master, the car is ready."

"Then, let's go." Leo nodded and went downstairs. He sat in an SUV driven by a bodyguard while the other bodyguards got into three other cars.

The five vehicles started out at once, leaving Walvis Bay in a stately manner as they headed south along the road.

After they drove for less than twenty minutes, Leo saw the gate at the end of the road which was marked with the words "Blackwatch Biological Research Center". His gaze turned sharp.

"As I thought, God's Forbidden Zone is connected to this company…"

They did not stop at the door. The five vehicles drove past the gates and finally stopped before a large laboratory building.

However, Leo did not expect to see dozens of cars parked before the building. There were even several individuals who appeared to be bodyguards standing guard before their cars.

  Leo's frown deepened instantly.

Although the more people were invited and the safer he was, this also meant that his potential competitors had increased. He simply did not know what was God's Forbidden Zone organization, which was behind this company, was planning.

After he got out of the car with his crew of bodyguards, Jesse the butler leaned over and pointed at the stairway of the building, which was about ten meters away. "Look, Young Master, that's a member of the Wilson family. I've seen him before!"
