Astrosaurs 18

“Thank you.” Fangal licked his cheek fondly. “If only we could find a nice quiet planet and all settle down together.”
“Ooooh, yes,” Wettus agreed. “A place where we could really belong.”
“You can,” said Speck. “I have already spotted hundreds of distant, deserted planets through the Megascope – most of them well off the beaten space track.”
Arx beamed. “One of them will be perfect for you, I’m sure.”
“Will there be lots of lovely plants growing there?” Wettus was licking his lips. “Will there?”
“We’ll make sure of it,” Teggs promised with a grin. “Then you can invite us all round for tea as soon as you’re settled!”
“I’ll untie the other apatosaurus and we’ll start the search together,” Jodril told Fangal. “Right, Chief Spotter?”
“Of course,” said Speck. “It’s the least I can do after being so foolish. I’ll rebuild the Megascope myself – and I’ll never take help from evil aliens again.”
“Make sure you don’t!” said Arx.
Teggs nodded, smiling fondly at his wonderful spaceship through the window. The three shuttles had parked outside, and dimorphodon in spacesuits were already repairing the Battalasks’ damage.
“We’d better get back to Dactil and tell him everything’s fine,” said Iggy.
“Eep,” Sprite agreed.
“And then,” said Gipsy, “once we’ve sent Wettus and Fangal and their families on their way . . .”
“We can set off on another adventure,” said Arx.
“Sounds like a plan to me!” Teggs grinned. “I may not have big, long fangs, but a new adventure is something I can ALWAYS get my teeth into!”
THE END
About the Author
Born in 1971, Steve Cole spent a happy childhood in rural Bedfordshire being loud and aspiring to amuse. He liked books, and so went to the University of East Anglia to read more of them. Later on he started writing them too, with titles ranging from pre-school poetry to Young Adult thrillers (with more TV and film tie-ins than he cares to admit to along the way). In other careers he has been the editor of Noddy magazine, and an editor of fiction and nonfiction book titles for various publishers. He is the author of the hugely successful Astrosaurs, Cows in Action, Astrosaurs Academy and Slime Squad series.
