  Chapter 1

  Ellie

  * * * * *

All I had to do was lay there until the scene was over. I didn’t have to move. I was a dead vampire, so there was nothing for me to do except listen to my co-star weep over my passing. And Cale Montgomery did it so well.

After the scene, we could go to the wrap party, dance our butts off, and we wouldn’t have to hide anymore. I could feel the excitement coursing through my dead vampire body.

The past week had been crazy. Trying to pretend you were indifferent to your gorgeous co-star was difficult, but it was much harder for Cale. We barely spoke to each other outside of our trailers unless it was scripted and we always arrived in the morning in separate vehicles. We were in heat, not stupid.

“Cut! It’s a wrap. Everyone, well done.” The director led a round of applause and a collective sigh. We were done, and not only with the episode but with the entire season. School was out for the summer, or so to speak.

I opened my eyes and caught a glimpse of Cale skulking away to his trailer. It would be the last time we had to pretend not to like each other. With our affair out in the open, we wouldn’t have to sneak around anymore. Just the logistics of hiding from the paparazzi, friends, and fans was enough to make me dizzy.

And Cale made me dizzy enough. His fingers were magical. They knew exactly where to touch to create waves of pleasure that flooded me time and time again. I could never grow bored with that kind of intensity.

I got to my feet and dusted off my Victorian-era dress. At least I wouldn’t have to be squeezed into corsets anymore. They were starting to get more annoying than fashionable.

“Ellie, can I see you before you go?” Vince, the producer called out. Damn, I should have walked quicker.

I plastered on a smile. “Of course.”

I could already imagine Cale taking off his costume, putting something equally as sexy on, and heading to the wrap party. I definitely didn’t want to be late for it.

Vince led me into his office and closed the door. I was instantly concerned about what he wanted. Surely, he couldn’t have hated my performance? I was only on set for three weeks, and that wasn’t long enough to disappoint him. Some people liked taking the “it” girl down a notch or two, although I didn’t peg Vince for one of them.

  “Take a seat,” he directed.

I did as I was told-I was good at that when it came to my work and in the bedroom.

“Is something wrong?” I asked. The suspense was killing me, along with my urge to rush to Cale’s side.

“No, not at all.” He leaned forward on his desk, linking his fingers in a triangle underneath his chin. “We’ve been discussing your role on the show.”

My role was dead and buried, just like my character. I closed the season finale, and next season wasn’t my concern.

“We want you to return next season. We’ve thought of a way to bring your character back to life, and we are really excited about what else we could do with the role. The audience loves her, and people can’t get enough of the whole Tanzy/Rick relationship.”

Two parts of my body were completely at odds as his offer sunk in. Everything below the belt screamed to run away. Everything above told me I should stay and listen to what the man had to say.

“How long would we be talking about?” I asked. My brain winning out – for the moment.

“We’re prepared to offer you a contract for the full season.”

A full season? That was twenty-two episodes at least. More if the studio requested it. But Cale and I weren’t allowed to see each other while we were colleagues. Three weeks had been hard enough, but another six months? Not to mention the entire summer in between.

But, then again, I loved the show. I had been a big fan before I was asked to guest star, and I still enjoyed it now. People loved teenage vampire TV shows, and this one was the most popular one of them all. If I was thinking about my career, I would be all over this offer.

“Come on, Ellie, you know this is a great opportunity. Say yes so I can announce it at the wrap party.”

I knew what my agent would say---she would be doing a happy dance and throwing money into the air by now.

“If it’s the money you are concerned about, we’ll make it worth your while,” Vince continued. He was breaking apart all the logical reasons not to do it.

I had to think of my career. “I’d love to return.” I smiled. I was going to be in so much trouble.

  Chapter 2

  Cale

  * * * * *

Three weeks of absolute hell were about to come to a close, and I couldn’t be happier. I had it all—a highly rated television series, movie offers flooding my way, awesome hair, and the famous Ellie Huntly on my booty call speed dial. Life didn’t get much better than that.

And after the party tonight, I wouldn’t have to hide my happiness anymore. I could spend all summer with Ellie. We would be out and proud as the new Hollywood headline couple. Hiding was exhausting… or it could’ve been the endless nights of her keeping me up that was leaving me fatigued.

I headed into the wrap party with a spring in my step. We wouldn’t have to hide our relationship anymore--it was going to be awesome. To know that I had been the one to capture the gorgeous doe-eyed guest star puffed my chest out a little. I had the ultimate bragging rights.

The party was held on one of the lots. It was nothing fancy--just a bunch of munchies and a fully stocked bar. The set decorators had thrown some lights and seats around the place. The sound guys managed to rig up some music. Like I said, nothing fancy, but none of us cared. We’d survived an entire season and been renewed for another. It was basically heaven on earth.

I grabbed a beer and scanned the area, waiting for Ellie to get there. I eventually spotted her coming out of Vince’s office. She hadn’t changed yet. What the hell was she doing with him?

She didn’t look my way as she hurried to her trailer. I considered following her, thinking that we could have one last tussle in her bed for old time’s sake, but I forced myself to stay put. Soon enough, we wouldn’t have to sneak around. For once, I didn’t even care what the media thought.

I waited for her to return, and the moment she did they started the speeches. It was a tradition on our set for the director to say a few words, and then the producers. Plus, anyone else who wanted to put their bit in.

The director said the usual stuff. He thanked us all for being great to work with yadda yadda yadda. I wasn’t really listening because Ellie had snuck up beside me. I could feel the warmth of her body and that was making me forget about everything else.

Vince went next. “I’ll get to thanking y’all and getting all sentimental in a minute, but first I want to share some news. Ellie Huntly has just signed on for another season with us. Tanzy will rise and live to fight another day.”

People cheered and started congratulating her. I just stood there slack jawed as I looked at her. All that time she had to tell me, and she decided to keep it a secret until now? She let me believe that we could c
ome out together tonight when she knew all along that we wouldn’t be able to? What kind of a fucking game was she playing?

Vince pulled her onto the stage so she could blush and gush over the honor of returning as a regular cast member. She barely even knew I existed at that point.

There was one thing that I couldn’t handle and that was lying. I downed my beer and headed for the parking lot. I needed to get out of here.

  Chapter 3

  Ellie

  * * * * *

“Well done, Ellie. It’s going to be great having you back.” The compliments were coming thick and fast, but I couldn’t think of anything else except the thunderous look Cale had given me.

He wasn’t in his trailer, and his car was gone from the parking lot. He didn’t even wait around to argue with me about my decision. That wasn’t like him. He normally had an opinion about everything.

I stayed at the wrap party long enough that people wouldn’t think it was rude if I left. I may have been a regular cast member now, but I was still a prime target for gossipmongers who would relish in my downfall.

I tried to call Cale several times, but he wouldn’t pick up. Actors – nobody did fights like they did. Talk about melodramatic.

I took a chance and drove to his place. He had a house in the hills with more security than Fort Knox. At least I knew that the guard dogs were just little kittens at heart. If I needed to jump over the fence because he locked me out, they wouldn’t attack me.

I tried my luck with the security code at the gate. Cale hadn’t officially told it to me, but I had seen him input it enough in the last week to know what it was. I wasn’t his usual dumb fan that merely followed him around like a puppy.

The light flashed green and the gate rumbled to life. I drove straight in before he could run to a security camera and see who his visitor was. Hopefully, he was home.

There was no car parked in the driveway, but that wasn’t unusual. Cale always parked his half a million dollar Porsche in the garage. I left my significantly less flashy car in the driveway and stomped over to the front door before knocking. He answered after a few minutes.

“What the hell, Cale?” I demanded. “You just left without saying a thing.”

“You made it pretty clear that you didn’t want to talk to me about anything,” he replied as bursts of anger shot out of his eyes.

I put both my hands on his chest and pushed him inside. At least he wasn’t angry enough to push me back outside again. “You’re an idiot--you know that right?”

“Oh, nice compliment, thank you,” he said, rolling his eyes. He was kind of hot when he was annoyed. Actually, he was a lot hot. What were we fighting about again?

Oh, right, my role. “I found out about five minutes before you did. They sprung it on me just before the party. It’s a great opportunity, Cale. I had to take it.”

“And what happened to us finally being able to go public?”

“We can go to Vince, and tell him we got together after we wrapped. He won’t throw you off the show.” I hoped I wasn’t lying. Cale was smoking hot as Rick, and nobody could live up to his legacy.

“He was absolutely clear in his rules. No touching the incredibly alluring Ellie Huntly.” He waved his hands around like he was giving up.

Clearly, reasoning wasn’t going to win him over. I took a step closer, laying my hands on his rock-hard abs. “He didn’t stop me from touching you.” I started undoing his shirt buttons, painfully slow. Cale kept his hands up, making sure he didn’t lay a finger on me. His ribs heaved in and out as he fought to calm down.

When I was done with his shirt and it hung open, revealing those perfectly chiseled pecs, I kept going. His pants were a little more challenging, but I undid the button, the zipper, and then slid them down his legs. The entire time, he barely moved a muscle. And he definitely didn’t touch me.

“Nod your head if you want me to keep going,” I said, raising my eyebrow in challenge. He nodded slowly.

I reached around for my own zipper, undoing it from the back of my dress. I took my time, making sure Cale was acutely aware of every single individual movement. The dress slid to my feet. We were both standing there in nothing but our underwear. Still way too much fabric for my liking.

“I’m going upstairs,” I declared. “I’m going to take off my bra and panties, get into your bed, and start without you if you don’t hurry. It’s completely up to you whether you follow me. You can remain here and continue to be mad.”

I didn’t wait to see a reaction. I sashayed up the stairs, feeling Cale’s eyes burning into my back. I ran down the hallway.

By the time I got to the door of his room, he had caught up with me. Wrapping his arms around my waist, my feet left the floor.

“You are pure evil, Miss Huntly.” He breathed on my neck. “You are going to be the end of my career.”

He carried me over to the bed, throwing me down hard enough that I bounced a little. I flipped over, watching him tower over me.

He was forgetting the golden rule. “No touching, remember?”

Cale cocked his head to the side, reminding me of an adorable Labrador trying to figure something out. Except he was looking at me like a lion. I probably needed to explain a little further.

“You can’t touch me, it’s against the rules. But I can touch you… everywhere.”

He grinned that mischievous, wicked smile that I had seen so many times on the screen. It was normally just before his character bit someone and then snapped their neck. It sent a thrill through me.

I got up on my knees and pulled him onto the bed, pushing him down so that he was on his back for once. He liked being on top and having control over me. It was about time I taught him a lesson.

I grabbed his hands and pulled them above his head, holding them there with one of my own. He didn’t struggle against me, but he could have moved if he wanted to. But he didn’t. Instead, he let me have my way with his nearly naked body.

Nearly naked wasn’t nearly good enough. I tugged at the top of his underwear, pulling them down slowly, making sure he felt every movement carefully.

He went to move. “No, stay where you are. You lay one hand on me and I will tell Vince.” He smirked and laid back again. I liked this compliant Cale. It was a completely different side to him. The great Cale Montgomery was at my mercy---that was one for the tabloids.

I wrestled his boxers down and let them fall to the floor. He watched my every move. While I had his complete attention, I reached around and unclasped my bra. He may as well have something good to look at. I took off my panties next.

“You’re killing me, Huntly,” he moaned, reaching for me. I slapped away his hands.

  “I haven’t even begun, Montgomery.”

I let my fingers trace his leg before I moved upward. There wasn’t going to be a part of him that I didn’t touch. He had had his way for far too long, and now it was my turn. I was going to show him exactly what I could do.

My fingers made their way to his groin. His cock was already twitching with anticipation. It was just so tempting to hop on and go for a ride, but then it would be over too quickly. I had no plans of going home tonight or cuddling for the rest of the evening.

With a feather-light touch, I caressed his swollen appendage. He squirmed, pressing against my hand, signaling that he wanted more. But he was going to have to wait.

I leaned down slow and kissed the tip of his cock, letting my tongue barely graze it. Cale groaned with his arms still above his head.

I planted a row of kisses along his shaft, keeping my hand on his balls and squeezing ever so gently. I increased the intensity until he was almost bucking under my grasp.

“Ellie.” He sighed my name like I was torturing him. It was fun seeing the bad boy heartthrob want something so badly, and I was the only one there to give it to him. How many times in the past week had he reveled in doing that to me? He always seemed to enjoy denying me until he was ready.

  I took my
hand from his cock and grinned. “Buckle up, Cale. It’s going to be a long ride.”

  Chapter 4

  Cale

  * * * * *

I really wanted to play along with Ellie’s game. She was having so much fun, and it was a side I hadn’t seen of her yet. I guess I had spent the last week doing whatever I wanted to her. I liked hearing her beg for relief, and now it was my time. Payback was a bitch.

It was taking every inch of my resolve to keep my hands off her. Not being able to touch her naked body or her breasts or her legs was killing me. All I had to do was sit up and grab her, and I could have my way and take what I wanted.
