“You are so fucking sexy.” He stood, crossing the room to kiss her for the first time.

She wrapped her arms around his waist, liking the feel of his warm skin on hers. He put his hand on her face, tilting her head back and deepening their kiss. As he explored her mouth with his tongue, she let out a little whimper. She hadn’t meant to, but damn, his kiss made her toes curl. It was the perfect mix of slow and hard. Like he planned to take his time, but he wanted her more than he could stand.

Linc pulled back, smiling, cocky. “You sure this is okay? This is what you want?”

She reached behind her and unclasped her bra, letting it fall to the floor unabashedly. “If this wasn’t what I wanted, you wouldn’t be here, handsome.”

He trailed his hands down the column of her throat, along her arms. Finally, he placed them on her hips, lifting her and tossing her on the bed with ease. He crawled up the mattress, hovering over her body and running his nose up her neck to her hair. “You smell so good.” He dipped down and ran his tongue between her breasts to her belly button. “You taste so good.”

Everything Linc did to her, every touch, every kiss, was perfection. He knew exactly what he was doing. Some women wanted men who didn’t sleep around, men who were monogamous most of their lives. Madden? She liked a man with experience, a man who knew what he was doing. A man who knew twenty different ways to make her scream. If that meant man whore, it was more than fine by her.

And if the rumors were anything to go by, Linc was her guy.

Madden arched her neck, giving him more access. “I bet I feel even better.”

She felt him smile against her skin. “Hmmm, let me see…” He lightly traced his fingertips down her side, across her hip and into the front of her panties. She moaned when he entered her core with one finger. “Oh wow, you’re right, you do feel even better.”

Normally Madden was a huge fan of foreplay, of the buildup. But tonight? All she wanted was to feel Linc move inside her. She reached between them, unbuttoning his jeans and freeing his long, rigid cock. She was more than pleasantly surprised by what he was packing. She stroked him, lightly teasing, like he’d been teasing her. “I want you inside me. Now.” It’d been a couple months since she’d had a man in her bed, and she was more than ready. That had to be why she was panting and already on edge; her orgasm was building even though he’d barely gotten started.

Linc grabbed her panties and tugged them down, throwing them over his shoulder with a sexy smirk on his face. He grabbed a condom from his wallet before taking off his jeans and briefs. Madden took the condom from him, pushing him down to the mattress and tearing the package with her teeth. Linc put his hands behind his head and watched her every movement as she slid it down his hard length.

Once she was done he jackknifed up, pinning her to the bed underneath him. He grabbed her thighs, pushing them further apart and positioning himself between her legs. “Ready, baby?”

She trailed her hand down his chest and then pinched his nipple. “Don’t call me baby.”

He narrowed his eyes and entered her in one punishing thrust. Her back arched off the bed. He filled her so completely it was hard to breathe. He stilled, waiting for her to adjust. He pulled back slightly, surging back in once more. “You good?” When she nodded, Linc pressed his body to hers, rolling them over and then sitting up. Her legs wrapped around him. “Then ride me.”

He took her breast in his mouth, teeth scraping her nipple and sending a shock through her body; it felt amazing. She threw her head back, moaning, “More.” Linc wrapped one arm around her hips, helping her keep her rhythm. He used the other hand to roll her nipple, pinching lightly. She bit her lip. “Linc. God. So fucking good.”

He chuckled. “You ain’t seen nothing yet, baby.” He fell back on the bed, keeping his hands at her waist. He held her up slightly so that every time she came down he pushed up into her.

“Oh. My. God. Don’t. Stop. Doing. That.” Each word was punctuated by a thrust. She was having the best sex of her life and she never wanted it to end. She was both sad and excited to feel her orgasm coming on strong. “I’m so close.”

He moved his hand slowly up her body. They were both slick with sweat. He grabbed onto her shoulder, pushing her down onto his dick harder, making her give him everything she had. She felt like she was losing her mind. Nothing else existed but Linc. She screamed his name as she came.

Her orgasm seemed to go on forever. She was still coming when she felt him start to pulse inside her.

  Chapter Eight

  Linc

He lay on his back next to Madden, panting, trying to catch his breath. She was doing the same; neither of them had spoken in minutes. Not since she’d screamed his name and he came so hard he saw stars. He propped himself up on one elbow. “Well, that was fun.”

She gave him one of her breathy laughs. “Yes. It was.” She turned to face him, smiling. “I’m so glad we decided to be friends.”

He rolled to his side, palming her breast. They were perfect, a little more than a handful each. “Me too.” He leaned in, taking her other nipple in his mouth, sucking softly. He pulled away so that he could see her face. “Same time tomorrow?”

  She shrugged. “Sure.”

He was so damn happy that he was going to have her again. Sex with Madden was fucking at its finest. Uninhibited. Pleasurable. Hard. He didn’t know what to do now though. He wasn’t opposed to sleepovers; he wasn’t some tortured soul commitment-phobe. He hadn’t ever been looking for anything too serious. And he didn’t know what she wanted. Madden seemed like the kind of girl that would kick you out of her bed as soon as she came. But she hadn’t asked him to leave yet.

“Hey, what was all that earlier tonight? Why did we have to sneak around like two teenagers trying to fool their parents?” She rested her cheek on her hand, like she was settling in for an odd bedtime story.

Linc wrinkled his nose. He had almost forgotten that he’d promised her he would tell her what was going on. “A few years ago I slept with the school nurse. She wanted more, I didn’t, and she became, uh, well let’s just say she stopped focusing on her job.”

Madden rolled her eyes. “You were so mind-blowing in bed she couldn’t function without you? Give me a break.”

“Excuse me, but I think we both know that I am more than mind-blowing in bed. You screamed so loud I’m sure the neighbors heard you.” Linc waited for her to tell him he was wrong. She didn’t. “Anyway, she got fired. Baze was pissed—”

“Baze is the gorgeous, moody one with all the hot tattoos, right?”

He scowled. “He’s the anti-friends-with-benefits one with the bad attitude.”

  She snorted.

He sent her a pointed look before continuing. “The dean refused to hire another nurse, and Baze ended up having to hand out bandages and be nice to sick kids. One night we were at Moon Bar and Baze and the other guys drew up a contract, which I signed, stating that I wouldn’t sleep with any medical personnel in Colorado for five years. It’s only been like two.”

She closed her eyes then opened them and looked to the ceiling like she was thinking hard. “Let me get this straight. You banged the nurse, she got fired, the dean punished you by refusing to hire a new plaything, Baze ended up with the brunt of it, and in turn he made you sign a non-legally binding contract? And you’re going along with it?”

“Well, there is one more little piece to the puzzle.” He took a deep breath. “The nurse was engaged. Her ex-fiancé ended up coming here. He caused a bunch of crap between Keller and Molly because he thought Keller was the one that slept with his girlfriend. There were punches thrown. I got in trouble.”

Madden narrowed her eyes. “You got in trouble? You’re an adult. Why would you let your friends run your life like that?”

Linc sighed. Here was the part she would never understand. “They aren’t just my friends. They’re my family.” What he really meant was, they were his pack. And it seemed the longer they all li
ved and worked together, the stronger the pack mentality became.

“It certainly wasn’t intentional, but my actions caused a lot of problems. In the beginning the contract was more of a joke, but after the ex-fiancé came to town…they’re taking it seriously.” Whether he liked it or not, he cared about what his pack thought and wanted to make them happy. “Look, this is no big deal. You aren’t asking me for a relationship, and I don’t want one.” He ran his thumb over her plump lower lip, and she opened her mouth, sucking him in. “And we don’t need everyone in our business. We’ll fuck, we’ll be friends, we’ll keep it between us.” His closed his eyes, visions of her lips a little further south clogging his brain.

She pulled back, releasing his finger with a pop. “Whatever. We can be secret fuck buddies.” She rolled away from him, opening her nightstand. She tossed a condom onto his chest. “Suit up. I want to go again, and then I want you out of my bed.”

He grinned, tearing the condom wrapper with his teeth. “Madden, I think you just might be the best friend I’ve ever had.”

  Chapter Nine

  Madden

Madden found herself smiling the next morning while she unpacked and tried to get her new life in order. Sex with Linc had been really good. He was attentive and inventive. He didn’t take himself too seriously, and he didn’t hold back. To be perfectly honest, she was a little sore. Although she’d never admit that to him. Round two last night had been so great she’d almost let him stay over so that she could wake up to a round three. Almost.

Madden insisted men keep their distance. She wasn’t looking for love, and she didn’t want to be the cause of anyone’s heartbreak. Ever. She’d watched her mother sit by the window, waiting up for Madden’s father, on more than one occasion. They both knew where he was. Madden was certainly old enough to figure out what was happening. She began to hate her father, but her mother never did. She stayed the dutiful Southern housewife, forever standing behind her man, even when he didn’t deserve it. Madden never dreamed of a prince charming; she learned at an early age that true love was a crockpot full of shit and despair.

When there was a knock at her front door, Madden made her way through the maze of half-empty cardboard boxes to get it. “Hey, preggo. What are you doing up so early?” She held the door open wide, inviting Corey in.

“I wanted to make sure you were okay. Linc was an asshole last night.” Corey walked past her carrying a large pastry box. “Oh, and I brought breakfast.”

“Well, that was nice of you.” Madden followed the smell of fresh baked goods into her kitchen. She pulled a couple of plates out of an open box sitting on the counter. “And Linc was fine. No worries.” She laughed to herself because Linc was more than fine last night. He was…skilled. He’d had a lot of practice, no doubt. Good thing for both of them that things like that didn’t bother her one bit.

Corey cocked her head to the side, studying her. “What happened when he brought you home?”

I rode his dick until both of us could no longer move. Madden shrugged like she was brushing the whole incident off. “Nothing. He dropped me off and then sped away.” That part was actually true.

Corey took a large bite of a flaky croissant, almost finishing the thing in one attempt. It took her a long time to chew and swallow. “Linc is a ladies’ man.”

“Well he isn’t this lady’s man.” Madden took an overgrown banana nut muffin out of the box. “I’ve heard all about his—”

Her comment was cut off by another knock at the front door. She left Corey in the kitchen with her box o’goodies and went to answer. It seemed Madden was a popular girl this morning.

“Hey, friend, I just came by to—”

Madden made a small cutting motion at her throat and inclined her head towards the kitchen. She didn’t really understand Linc’s need to keep their new “friendship” from his actual friends, but she sure as hell wanted to keep banging him. A good little fling like Linc was harder to find than one might think.

“…thank you for not kicking my ass last night. I was a jerk and I wanted to apologize.”

She smiled. “That’s kind of you. Corey’s in the kitchen. Do you want to come in?” She opened the door wider and playfully slapped Linc’s ass as he walked by.

Linc turned in a full circle, winking at her before heading to the kitchen. “Corey. You brought breakfast. Is there any left or did you eat it all?”

“You’re rude.” Corey tossed a muffin at Linc’s head. “What are you doing here?”

“I came to apologize to Madden. For last night.” He ate half the muffin in one bite like Corey had. Huh, birds of a feather.

Corey’s eyes went wide. “Oh, really?” Her words were steeped in disbelief and she didn’t wait for him to answer. “What did you do last night? After you dropped Maddi off?”

Linc shrugged, talking around a mouth full of muffin. “I went home, watched ESPN and fell asleep.” He reached for another.

Corey slapped his hand away, quick as lightning. “You’re lying.”

Madden couldn’t help her grin. Watching these two was nothing if not entertaining. Her new life at St. Leasing was shaping up to be a lot of fun so far.

“I ran into Baze this morning at the coffee shop and he told me that you didn’t come home until like three o’clock in the morning.”

Linc grabbed another muffin, side-stepping another slap from Corey. People seemed to enjoy smacking Linc around. She’d seen Corey do it three times now. “I don’t know why you find it necessary to check up on me.”

Corey rolled her eyes. “Yes you do.”

Linc looked over at Madden, silently asking for help when Corey buried her head into the pastry box looking for another victim. What the hell did he want Madden to do? This was his battle with Corey, not hers.

Corey stood back up, clutching a bear claw in her hands. “So what was it, Linc? Head back to Moon Bar and grab another bartender? Stay here and attempt to climb into Maddi’s pants?”

He stood stock still, like a deer in the damn headlights. Stupid man was going to shoot himself in the foot with his silence. Madden looked from Linc to Corey, and then she let out a small sigh and reared back, slapping Linc across the face. “You are such a pig. You basically threw me out of the car while it was still running. All so you could go find some poor girl to seduce? You’re disgusting.” Madden had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing at Linc’s shocked expression. Hey, he was floundering. She helped the only way that had come to her.

  Redirection.

Linc shook his head and pointed a finger at her. “You know what? Forget I came over here, because I’m not sorry. I had the best sex of my life last night. So…Yeah.”

The best sex of his life? That was flattering. Madden put her hands on her hips, pointing toward the front of her small house. “Get out.”

Linc looked from her to Corey, confusion on his handsome face. “What?”

“Get. Out.” She shook her head, eyes glaring like she was beyond pissed off. “I want to have breakfast with my friend, not hear about your sexcapades.” She grabbed his arm and tugged him toward the front door.

When they were both alone in the living room Linc came up behind her, wrapped both his arms around her waist, and nuzzled her neck. “You are absolutely the best.”

She snorted as she pressed her ass harder against his dick, teasing him mercilessly. “I know. Now, for real, get out before Corey comes in here.”

He gave her a kiss on the cheek. “I’ll text you tonight before I come over.”

Madden shut the door, slightly bummed that he’d left. Sex to start her day along with that muffin would have been nice. She plastered on a small smile on her way back to the kitchen—but not too big because she’d just slapped someone and kicked him out of her home.

“So, what are you going to do the rest of the day? Want to watch me unpack? It’ll be fuuu-uunnnn.” She drew the word out into two syllables, trying to make it sound more enticing.

/>   Corey crossed her arms over her chest. “What the hell was that?”

Madden stopped short, the confusion on her face genuine. “What was what?”

“You’re lying about something.” Corey narrowed her deep green eyes. “You slapped Linc for being a male whore.”

“No.” She shook her head. “I slapped Linc because he was rude to me while in the process of being a male whore.” Madden quickly grabbed her muffin, semi-afraid that Corey would slap her hand away as well. “Two entirely different things. I never slut shame.”

Corey’s expression was thoughtful. “Why would it bother you that Linc wanted to ditch you for some stranger?”

“It wouldn’t. It didn’t. I mean, he shouldn’t have offered to drive me if he was going to bail like that.” Madden couldn’t stand the hard gaze that was trained on her so she made herself busy unpacking kitchen boxes. Corey was one of her oldest friends; they’d gone to school together since kindergarten. Play dates, sleepovers, school dances, and home games. Corey was the only person who knew about Madden’s father. The only person who knew the reason behind her wild ways and adventurous lifestyle. Twelve years of constant companionship before they’d gone their separate ways. If anyone could see right through her, it was Corey.

“You like Linc?” Corey pursed her lips. “No, that’s not it. You aren’t the relationship type. Why would you overreact to Linc?” She slammed her free hand, the one not cradling a pastry, on the counter. “Oh my God. You slept with Linc.”

Madden dropped the cup she was holding. Luckily it was plastic and it fell back into the cardboard box silently. “What? You’re crazy. Your pregnancy hormones are making you crazy.” She rolled her eyes for effect. “Linc isn’t even my type, you know that. He’s all California prep and smiles. If I was going to nail anyone, it’d be Baze.” She turned back to the box in front of her, trying to avoid too much eye contact. “Maybe that’s what you’re picking up on. I, uh, want Baze.” That wasn’t a total lie. Madden had never gone for the happy blond boys. It had always been dark and brooding that she’d been drawn to. Until now. For some stupid reason a punishing romp in the sack with Baze sounded extremely unappealing. Like almost made her feel ill.
