“Sounds like it would be worth the time and money if it’s what you enjoy doing,” Devlin replies.

“Of course it would be worth it, if I had time or money.”

“How much does it cost?” he asks while twirling a lock of hair around his finger.

“The last time I checked it was around five thousand at the least expensive school.”

“Why didn’t you use the money from your car to pay for it?”

“Sure, it may have been a big chunk toward tuition, but I won’t be able to work much to keep earning enough to pay for bills and rent too if I take classes.”

“I could help you out,” Dev says softly.

“What? No. I don’t want your money.”

“It could be a loan or an advance for future haircuts.”

Laughing, I tell him, “That would be a lifetime of cuts to ever repay that big of a loan.”

“Then give me a lifetime of haircuts, starting today.”

“You really want me to cut your hair?” I ask him as I brush the loose side behind his ears. “I like it long.”

“Trim it for me. I haven’t had a haircut in…fuck, I don’t even know when my last one was.”

“Right now? I thought we were gonna fuck twice.”

“Depending on the time, we may have to wait until tonight for round two and the haircut if you need to get to work…”

“Oh shit!” I exclaim, jumping out of bed to start putting my clothes on. “What time is it?”

Devlin rolls out of bed and grabs his phone from his pants. “You still have ten minutes. I can get you there in about five.”

“Okay. Get dressed!” I tell him. “Hurry!”

“I’m moving as fast as a freshly fucked man can go,” he says while I grab my phone and purse.

Thankfully, by the time I’m ready, Devlin is fully dressed and ready to go out the door.

And he makes good on his promise.

Even though he broke several traffic laws, I make it to work with five minutes to spare.

“Thanks for the ride,” I tell him when he kills the engine and I hand him his helmet, realizing a moment too late how that sounded.

“You’re welcome for the ride and for me getting you to work on time,” he replies with a wink. “See you tonight?”

  “Only if Sean’s not there.”

“Fine,” Devlin agrees. Jaw clenched stubbornly before he puts his helmet on, he adds, “But I’m staying until we fucking finish, even if he comes home. I’ll park my bike out of the way, so he won’t see it there.”

“Okay,” I agree. It’s the least I can do after he’s been giving me rides. To work on his bike. And now rides in bed. “I’ll see you at six.”

“Damn right you will,” he adds before he cranks his bike and rides off.

Over the next few weeks, I fuck Jetta in every position, all over the place – in the laundry room at the water park during my lunch break, in her shower before I take her to work, on every surface in her bedroom – walls, floors, dresser.

I’ve had her everywhere, and yet she still won’t let me sleep over all night or come over to my place.

In fact, she’s never even seen my apartment.

“Why don’t you ever come and stay with me at my place?” I ask Jetta while I’m still buried inside of her after fucking her from behind before taking her to work one morning.

  “I don’t know.”

“There must be a reason,” I say while placing kisses on her shoulder blade. “We’ve been sleeping together for three weeks, and you’ve never even seen my apartment.”

“I guess…I guess I don’t want to sleep or fool around in the bed where you’ve been with lots of other women,” she admits, still face down so I can barely hear her muffled voice.

“I haven’t had a woman in my bed in weeks.”

“Weeks, wow, alert the press! Is that some sort of record?” she jokes while squirming out from underneath me.

“Probably, yeah. But just because I slept around in the past doesn’t mean I have any plans to do it anytime soon.”

“Right, like you could ever be monogamous for more than a few weeks,” she mutters. Sitting on the edge of the mattress, she grabs a baggy t-shirt and pulls it on.

  “Why couldn’t I?” I ask.

“You, Devlin Boyd, are not exactly the type I see ever settling down.”

  “Says who?” I scoff indignantly.

“Says me,” Jetta responds when she gets to her feet and gestures with her hands in my direction. “I mean, look at you!”

I playfully swat my hair over my shoulder like a diva. “I’m offended by your assessment based on my devastatingly good looks.”

“Convince me otherwise,” she says, crossing her arms defiantly over her chest.

“Okay, I will,” I reply confidently. “Get dressed and let’s go.”

  “Go where?”

“You’ll see when we get there.”

“But I have to be at work in an hour,” she reminds me like I’m not aware of her schedule after picking her up and taking her to work every day for the last twenty-one days.

“I’ll get you to work on time. Now get dressed already!” I instruct her.

“I don’t think we have time this morning,” she says. “Can’t we just wait until tonight?”

“Fine! But no canceling,” I warn her. “You don’t get to judge me and then refuse to let me prove you wrong.”

“I won’t cancel,” she promises, but she doesn’t touch the part about ‘judging me as the type of man who doesn’t want to be in a serious relationship’.

In fact, it pisses me off because she’s the one who insists on us sneaking around to fuck, not me. If it were up to me, I would take her to meet my friends, then take her to my place where I have not only a toothbrush for her but also several drawers cleared out for her to bring over some clothes. That’s how serious I am about her. About us.

I’m just not sure if Jetta will ever agree to be more than a casual hookup.

When Dev picks me up from work that afternoon, he’s not his usual playful self.

  In fact, he looks pissed.

“What’s wrong?” I ask when he hands me his helmet. The fact that he hasn’t bothered to buy me one of my own just goes to show he doesn’t have plans for us to be together for the long term.

“Are you going to cancel? Because I made a bet with myself that you would come up with some excuse by the time I picked you up to avoid going with me anywhere other than your bed.”

“Oh, right,” I say. I had honestly forgotten about the deal we made this morning. “Let’s go. I wasn’t going to cancel.”

“You forgot,” Dev says, calling me out. “And now there’s no time to make an excuse.”

“Don’t be grumpy,” I huff. “I thought guys only got grumpy when they weren’t getting any.”

“Maybe I’m grumpy because I’m not getting anything else.”

  “Huh?” I ask in confusion.

“Nothing. Just put the helmet on and let’s go before you change your mind.”

“Fine,” I agree, securing the helmet over my head and then climbing up on the back of his bike. I barely have time to wrap my arms around his waist before he cranks the bike and takes off.

We ride for just a few minutes through town before slowing in front of a two-story brown and tan stone Colonial in a nice, new neighborhood.

“Whose house is this?” I ask Dev after he turned off his bike.

“Nobody’s yet,” he says, nodding to the For Sale sign in the front yard. “But I’ve always wanted to live in a house like this one day.”

“You have?” I say in shock.

“Yeah. Come on. I’ll show you inside,” he says as he throws his leg over the bike and starts up the sidewalk.

“Devlin, wait! You can’t just break into this place!” I tell him when I climb o
ff and follow him.

“I’m not breaking in,” he says when he reaches into his jean pocket and pulls out a set of keys. “I helped build it.”

  “You did? Seriously?”

“Yeah,” he replies before turning to jam the key into the lock.

  “It’s beautiful.”

“I know,” he agrees. “Not that I’m trying to take credit for the planning or anything. I mostly just helped with the frame and the roof.” The door pushes open, and then we’re stepping inside the home that smells like fresh paint and new beginnings.

“Wow,” I say as I take in the hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings and crown molding in the front room.

“I’ll give you a tour,” Dev says as he grabs my hand. Interlacing our fingers, he pulls me deeper into the empty house and provides details about each room we enter. I relax as we go, figuring there’s no harm in being in a house that no one lives in yet.

Once we’ve looked at everything on the second floor, I walk over to one of the master bedroom windows to look out. “This is an amazing view,” I say since you can see the ocean off in the distance from this height.

“Yeah, it is,” Dev says when he comes up beside me to take a look. “I’ve never lived in a house before,” he admits softly while we take in the view. “My family always lived in a cramped apartment with no yard. Then, when I moved out, I didn’t need much space and couldn’t afford more than a one-bedroom. But someday, yeah, I want to live in a home like this.”

“This is a house for a family and kids, maybe a dog or cat,” I remark.

“Exactly,” Devlin agrees. And when I look over, his face is filled with longing, not for the house but for the family that lives in it too.

Finally I get it. This morning I told him I didn’t think he was the type to ever settle down. Showing me this place is his way of trying to tell me I was wrong about him.

And while Devlin may want a family, I’m just not sure if he’s ready for that kind of commitment yet given his lifestyle.

“You still don’t believe me,” I mutter when Jetta doesn’t say another word for several long minutes.

“I believe you, I do,” she says when she turns to face me, resting her back against the window. “I’m just not sure you’re ready to settle down right now, with me.”

“What’s it going to take for you to believe me?” I ask. “What do I have to do to convince you to let me take you out on a date, introduce you to my friends, or tell your brother we’re seeing each other?”

“The whole purpose of a date is to convince a girl to sleep with you, right?” she asks. “Why not just skip to the good part?”

“That’s a cynical view, don’t you think? I like talking to you and being with you as much as I like fucking you, Jetta.”

“And you don’t want to see anyone else?”

“I don’t want to see anyone else,” I assure her.

“Where do you go when you leave my place at night?” she asks while picking at her fingernails.

“Either to the boat, if it’s early, to play poker with the guys. Or I go home. Alone,” I answer. “Why? Do you think I leave and go to some other girl’s house to fuck her?”

  “Maybe.”

“Well, I don’t. I do work for a living, you know? I hang with my friends or just go home. I usually eat since you never have dinner with me. Sometimes I wind down while streaming shows, and then I go to bed so that I can get up earlier than necessary for work to come see you!”

“You come see me because you want to get laid.”

“I come see you because I want to see you! Getting laid is just a nice bonus,” I explain. “Your time of the month is coming up, right? Were you planning to just not see me for an entire week?”

“Yes,” she whispers. “Or give you a week worth of blow jobs so you wouldn’t go get it someplace else.”

“I don’t need blowjobs, even though they are awesome. I’m not gonna go anyplace else if you don’t get me off. Believe it or not, I can survive without fucking for a few days. There’s more to me than my dick!”

“I know there’s more to you than your dick,” Jetta replies with a grin. “You also have nice abs, a great ass, and sexy tattoos…”

“Forget it,” I mutter before turning around to leave.

“Devlin, wait!” Jetta says when she grabs my elbow to stop me. “I was joking. Sort of. You do have those nice things, but you’re a nice guy too. And funny. And great at your job if you built this house.”

“I’m just one man on a big ass construction crew,” I argue when she steps in front of me.

“Don’t try and act all humble when I’m trying to compliment you,” Jetta tells me as she grabs the sides of my face to pull my mouth down to hers for a few soft kisses. “I’m sorry for doubting you,” she says against my lips. “I just have a hard time trusting people. In the past, there haven’t been many people I can count on to stick around.”

“I’m not going anywhere,” I assure her.

“Sure you are,” she whispers against my lips. Before I can argue, she adds, “You’re going to lie down on this brand-new carpet, and then I’m going to ride you so hard on it that the realtor will have to vacuum up the indention of your ass before anyone will buy this place.”

And while the sole purpose of bringing Jetta to this place was to show her that I want more than sex from her, there’s no way I can pass up an offer that damn enticing.

My mouth crashes down on her dirty one, and then we’re both ripping each other’s clothes off as fast as possible.

When we finally make it to the floor, both of us naked, I grab Jetta’s waist to tug her body toward my face, lining up her pussy with my mouth. I hold her in place right there, letting her bucking hips ride my tongue until she screams and shakes. After I lap up her juices when she comes, I slide her back down my body and slam her down on my cock.

“Oh fuck!” I exclaim so loud the neighbors probably heard.

Jetta’s dripping wet and so fucking hot I almost come on the first stroke.

It takes a few more before I realize that she feels so fucking good because I didn’t put on a condom yet.

  Stupid. I’m so fucking stupid.

Oh, but how the hell am I supposed to stop now, knowing the heaven that awaits without a rubber?

Jetta doesn’t seem to notice. Her eyes are closed as she bounces up and down on me. Feeling around, she grabs my hands and puts them on her breasts, wanting me to play with her nipples.

“Holy fuck, you’re gorgeous,” I tell the goddess who is riding me. “But if you don’t stop…I’m gonna come…inside you.”

“So close…oh fuck, I’m so close!” Jetta moans. She slaps her palms on my chest to work her hips faster, and then, like usual, we both explode from the pleasure at the same time.

And goddammit, now I know why so many people get knocked up from having unprotected sex. It’s so worth it in that fucking moment. Nothing else matters. It’s just me and Jetta losing ourselves in each other’s bodies.

Even after I’ve finished Jetta keeps grinding down on me and shivering from several smaller aftershocks, each one I get to feel as she clenches around my satisfied and grateful dick.

“Wow,” Jetta gasps as she slumps over and rests her head on my shoulder. “That was better…than all the other times put together.”

“Yeah, it was,” I agree as I stroke my fingers up and down her spine. “But, um, probably because there wasn’t anything between us.”

“That’s okay,” she replies without lifting her head. “I’m on the pill.”

“You are?” I say in surprise. “You’ve never mentioned it before.”

  “I didn’t trust you before.”

  “And you trust me now?”

She holds up her finger and thumb an inch apart. “A little. I didn’t at first.”

  “A little,” I repeat. “It’s a start, so I guess I’ll take it.”

  “These things ta
ke time,” Jetta mumbles.

“I know,” I agree. “So does this mean we can forget the condoms from now on?”

“I guess so as long as you keep your dick out of other people.”

“My dick is yours, baby. Only yours.”

  “So sweet,” she mutters sarcastically.

I let my fingers slide down her backside, over her juicy ass and down to her cunt where I tease and prod her gently but enough to make her squirm on top of me. “This pussy is mine,” I tell her. “And one night soon, I’m going to spend an entire night, kissing it, licking it and filling it. Do you hear me?”

  “Yes,” Jetta moans.

  “Say it.”

  “My pussy is yours.”

“That’s right,” I say as I pump two fingers in and out of her until she comes on them. I know it’s the one thing that will keep her here with me just a little bit longer.

“Where have you been?” Sean asks from the sofa when Devlin drops me off around nine that night after he gave me a handful of orgasms in a house he helped build.

Thinking fast, I come up with a lie. “Out with Carla. Why?” I ask.

  “Just wondering.”

“Okay,” I say as I start to my room to grab my pajamas and go take a shower. I have more cum inside of me than is healthy.

“You’re not dating anyone, are you?” Sean calls out before I reach my room.

“What? No. Of course not!” I deny just a little too fast as I walk back toward the living room.

“Good,” he replies without taking his eyes off the new, yet smaller television he just bought. “Because I need a favor on Friday night.”

“A favor?” I repeat, thinking to myself that selling my car to save his ass was already a huge favor.

“It’s just one date. I have this…friend,” he starts.
