Lorene looked him square in the face, her expression completely serious. He waited.
“Ooooh, Boy!” She burst into laughter. “You are bad!”
She was laughing so hard, her whole body shook and half of her lemonade spilled onto the porch floor. “Lord, oh Lord! You are bad!”
Lorene’s laugh was contagious and Trevor felt himself laughing alongside her. They laughed and laughed until his stomach hurt.
He didn’t know if it was the relief from letting out the secret, or just feeling good about life in general, but he couldn’t stop the laughter.
And he didn’t want to.
