Smoking Hot

Those words made his heart race. He kissed Smoke back, hugging him tight.
“There’s one thing you need to do for me,” Smoke said.
“What’s that?”
“Bite me back,” Smoke said. Smiling, Toby left his own mark on his mate.
Chapter 13
“I don’t want to push,” Smoke began as he took his attention away from his character on his PC to look at his mate.
Toby looked so damn adorable, seated next to him, furiously clicking his mouse. It might be odd, the two of them playing BeastWorld in the same room, but he liked that they could share and experience this online world together. After all, it was this very game that brought them together.
“Smoke, your HP!”
He used a healing item on his character, then waited for the boss to die before asking his question, one that might shake or alter their newfound relationship. True, Toby was his mate now. Most of the time, Toby was up here. Would it be too soon to ask Toby to move in with him? After all, only a week had passed since their first night together. Since then, Smoke divided his time between his work and spending time with Toby.
Toby worked freelance so it shouldn't be a problem. Would it be too soon to ask?
Whenever Toby wasn’t around, all he thought about was his mate. Toby telling him about the incident with Benny and Ray at the grocer didn’t help cull his dragon’s unease one bit.
While Smoke knew Will, the wolf Alpha of the pack that claimed Burrell as their territory, Will was easy enough to deal with, honorable. However, Smoke also knew Will had just become the Alpha recently and didn’t have full control of his wolves. Knowing those two lived in the same town as his mate didn’t sit well with his dragon. Still, it made him proud to hear Toby stood up to them, defended him, because the old Toby he knew would never start a confrontation.
Smoke would have a talk with Will, tell the Alpha if those two werewolves came within a hundred feet of his mate, their life was forfeit. No one would want an angry dragon on their heels.
His human mate was growing leaps and bounds, and he loved that about Toby. During one of their chats online, Toby once told him that he was the kind of person who didn’t react well to change. Well, look at Toby now. He was evolving, even conquering his social anxiety.
Patience was the key to any relationship, his brother once told him. Not long ago, he would have scoffed. Dark giving advice? Thinking about Dark reminded him he had another thing he wanted to discuss with his mate.
“Okay, whew. That was really fun. It’s really different, being able to play together like this,” Toby said. “What did you want to ask me?”
He logged out of the game. Toby widened his eyes, knowing something serious was up so he did the same.
“Two questions,” Smoke said simply. “First, will you move in with me? Second, my brother and his mate want us to come over to dinner with them next week. Want to go?”
Toby looked stunned. “Sorry, those questions are… Wow.”
“It’s okay. Take your time. No rush,” Smoke said quickly. “Why don’t we head to the kitchen? Take a break and get some snacks?”
“Sure.” Smoke led his mate to his kitchen, grabbed two beers from the fridge and a couple of potato chips from the cabinet by the counter. “Move in here,” Toby murmured. His mate accepted the beer and looked around the space. Toby took a few sips and set it down.
Smoke didn’t want to push, but he said, “Tell me what you’re thinking.”
“That this house is certainly a lot roomier than my studio apartment and no property I can afford could beat this view,” Toby said. “Plus, it wouldn't be a problem if I moved in since you have great Wi-Fi and I'm a freelancer."
“And the nearest town is not far from here. You can always tell me where you want to go, since I also work from home, and it won’t be hard, making some kind of road so you can drive to town,” Smoke offered.
“You’ll make a road for me?” Toby asked, humor dancing in his eyes.
“Uh-huh. It’s easy. I’ll just pave the ground with some dragon fire, make the land all flat and perfect for a vehicle.” Okay, Smoke had never done such a thing before, but he’d make it possible. Maybe he could ask Striker, who had some experience with construction, for some tips. The lighting dragon also owed him one, and two would make the job a lot easier.
“You’re not joking, are you?” Toby asked.
He walked behind his mate and gave Toby a fierce hug. “Of course not. I’ll do anything, give you everything you need. You’re my mate, after all, my everything.”
Smoke was pleased Toby leaned against him, relaxing. “Then there’s nothing else to think about. I’ll miss Ron, but I can always drive up to Burrell to see him or invite him here,” Toby said.
“You sure?” Smoke planted a kiss on his mate mark on Toby’s neck.
“Absolutely.”
“Then you just made me the happiest dragon in the world.”
“Oh, I can tell,” Ron said in a playful voice, rubbing his ass at his groin.
Smoke groaned and nipped the side of Toby’s neck. “Be careful, baby. I might just fuck you on this kitchen table.”
Toby parted from him and turned on his heel, so Smoke could see the challenging look in his eyes. “Go ahead, I’d like to see you try,” Toby said.
“Hmm. Feisty human. Let’s see how long you can regain your composure after I spread you on that counter, blow you until you’re begging for me to fuck you.” Toby groaned, and his arousal made Smoke’s own dick harden. “You’ve done it now, baby. Take off those clothes before I rip them off you.”
Toby fumbled for his shirt, and Smoke let out a low, impatient growl.
“Time’s up.” Smoke tugged off Toby’s shirt, enjoying the ripping sound as it fell in taters on the kitchen floor. Toby got the message and quickly got out of his jeans and boxers. Smoke put his hands on Toby’s waist and lifted him on the counter. He took their beer bottles and set them near the sink so there was nothing on the counter but his delightful mate.
“Look at you. I don’t think I can hold back from rutting you on that spot,” Smoke said, positioning himself between Toby’s thighs. Smoke continued, “But don’t worry. I’ll make this good for you.”
“You always do,” Toby murmured. “You always made me feel special, like I’m the only one who matters to you.”
“You’re my treasure, Toby. My soul mate. And I love you so fucking much.” Smoke left more kisses on the side of Toby’s neck, Toby’s chest.
“I love you, too, Smoke. Always.”
Toby’s words speared right through him, making him all warm. His dragon growled softly in approval. Everything was falling in place, and their den would be complete with Toby moving in. He’d have access to his mate all the time, to do as he pleased, for him to spoil Toby and show him just how much he loved him. For every single day they had together, he’d make sure Toby knew he was the most important thing in Smoke’s life.
He palmed Toby’s dick, swiped away the pre-cum gathered at the tip. He lowered his head, gave Toby’s cock a lazy lick from root to balls. Toby shuddered above him, expression one of bliss.
Toby responded with a moan as he opened his mouth and took Toby’s dick in. He bobbed his head up and down, not surprised that when he pulled his mouth away, Toby erupted, coating strings of his cum over his stomach and abs.
“Oh God.”
“You came without my permission,” Smoke said in what he hoped was a reprimanding voice.
Toby let out a sigh, before looking up at him. Smoke wore a stern expression and crossed his arms. “If you’re so eager to come,” Smoke said, “then you’ll take your punishment with the same eagerness.”
“What are you going to do?” Toby asked. Smoke could already taste his mate’s excitement in the air.
“Turn you over and give you the spanking you deserve.”
“Then you’ll fuck me senseless?” Toby asked, sounding hopeful.
“Only if you’ve ear
ned it,” Smoke decided, his groin stirring. “Now be a good boy and offer that ass to me.”
Chapter 14
As soon as Toby slid off from the counter, Smoke grabbed his shoulder and turned him. He groaned as Smoke bent his upper body over the counter, until his chest touched the cold marble counter. He couldn’t believe they were really doing this in Smoke’s kitchen, their kitchen if he wanted, he reminded himself.
Even before Smoke asked him that question, he’d already begun to wonder what it would be like to live together, to wake up wrapped in the warm embrace of his powerful mate. It would be like heaven, and they were about to make it a reality.
“Stay still and take your spanking like a good boy,” Smoke ordered in that commanding voice of his that made his spine tingle.
“I’ll try,” he answered. That earned him a swat on his right ass cheek, which only made him moan. At this rate, his cock would wake up by the time Smoke finished this treat. Neither of them were particularly kinky, but a little spice didn’t hurt now and then. He pressed his cheek to counter and with each thud of Smoke’s large, warm hand on his ass, desire sparked inside of him, radiated from his dick to the rest of him.
Smoke stopped and leaned over, and he could feel the brush of Smoke’s cock against the curve of his ass, the tip smearing pre-cum all over him, marking him.
“There, had just about enough?” Smoke asked, breath warm against his ear.
“Oh yeah,” he breathed, crying out when Smoke bit him on his right shoulder.
Smoke patted his ass. “You’ve taken your punishment like a good boy, it’s time for your reward.”
Speechless, he could only moan in gratefulness. He looked over his shoulder, saw Smoke grabbing the lube from the back pocket of his jeans. His mate planted himself between his legs a moment later, palming his slightly stinging ass. Smoke didn’t even hit that hard, and he had a feeling his skin had already turned pinkish. He felt wonderfully owned, claimed, and loved by the man who was his soul mate.
Smoke uncapped the lube, applied plenty inside his puckered entrance, and began preparing him for access. He wiggled and squirmed, wanting something bigger than Smoke’s fingers. Finally, Smoke replaced his digits with his dick and slid in, not slow and easy this time. He gasped, gripping the counter as Smoke’s dick filled his ass completely. A burn started, but he knew Smoke would replace that with ecstasy.
“Still so tight,” Smoke said behind him. “All mine.”
“I’m yours.” Toby moaned as Smoke began to thrust in and out of him, rhythm steady.
Smoke began to pound in and out of him, faster and harder. He gasped when Smoke found his sweet spot. Toby’s prick began to thicken with each entry. The mate mark on his neck pulsed to life as he held onto the counter. The pressure inside him continued to build. Every muscle in his body tensed, and he knew he wouldn’t last long.
“Smoke.” He panted, body covered in sweat.
“Come together, baby,” Smoke ordered, pressing a kiss to his neck.
At Smoke’s last push, he exploded. Smoke pistoned in and out of him a couple of times before filling his ass with warmth. Languidness filled him. Toby was distinctly aware of Smoke effortlessly carrying him in his arms. He gasped and circled his arms around Smoke’s neck. To Smoke, he didn’t seem to weigh a thing as Smoke began carrying him upstairs, inside their bedroom, and right to the bathtub.
Smoke sat him on the edge of the tub before filling it with water.
“A luxurious soak after sex is the best,” Smoke told him.
“Are we really going to fit in there? We haven’t tried before,” Toby pointed out. He watched his mate curiously as Smoke rose on tiptoe to open a cabinet he could never reach above the sink. “What’s that?”
“Bubble bath bomb. See?” Smoke took out a rainbow colored ball from the box and dropped it in the tub, instantly creating bubbles.
He giggled. Sometimes, Smoke could really be adorable. “I never even knew these kind of bath products existed, but then again, I don’t have a tub.”
“You’re laughing now, but these are amazing,” Smoke stated. “Even if the ladies at the shop usually give me strange looks when I buy a boatload of them.”
Now, Toby decided, that was a sight to see. The dragon shifter put one leg over the tub and sat down. Toby licked his lips at the sight of Smoke’s sleek muscles. Smoke gave him a look, as if he knew Toby was watching.
“Aren’t you going to join me? Climb on my lap,” Smoke drawled, clearly an invitation.
Toby did just that, sighing as the feel of warm water soaking his skin. “Huh, look at that. We can fit.”
Smoke chuckled. “We can get a bigger tub, if that’s what you want.”
He blinked.
“Of course, this will be your house, too, and I want you to feel welcomed. If you want to redecorate everything, that’s fine with me.”
He rested his head against Smoke’s chest and put his arms around his amazing mate. “I like some of your furniture, but we’ll see.”
“Good. I want you to think of this place, of me as home.”
Toby beamed at his mate. “I already do.”
* * * *
Toby closed the flap of the box containing the last of his belongings and wiped his brow. He stood back up, dusting his jeans, then glanced at his watch. Crap. He should have all his boxes in his car by now, or driving toward Newton, the town nearest to Smoke’s mountain. Smoke offered to help him pack and move his stuff, but he insisted he could do it by himself, knowing Smoke had a deadline for a project coming soon.
A knock on his front door made him turn. Seeing Ron still wearing a suit, he guessed his friend rushed all the way from his office on the other side of town.
“Ron, you didn’t need to come see me off,” he began. Ron had been working plenty of overtime lately, that even online, he could catch Ron for a few minutes. Still, it touched his heart in more ways than one that Ron came.
“I would have come earlier if my boss didn’t dump more work on me before lunch time,” Ron mumbled.
From the way Ron said it, his boss sounded like an ass who always pushed his workload on his friend. Toby hoped Ron would find a better job soon or go freelance. Ron once said he envied Toby for being able to work from home. Ron could definitely do that, too. Toby had seen his portfolio and personally thought Ron had more talent as a graphic designer compared to everyone else in his company.
“It’s fine, I’m nearly done. I’m actually kind of running late, Smoke and I were supposed to meet his brother Dark and Dark’s mate later,” he admitted.
“Can I help?”
“Well, I need to move these boxes to my car, but you’ll ruin your suit,” he said.
Ron scoffed. “This cheap suit? Hah. What are friends for?” He took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. “Let’s do this. This dinner seems pretty important, you’ve been worrying about it all week long.”
“Yeah, because I’ve never met Dark before, and he’s like, a rougher and more violent version of Smoke, not that my mate isn’t deadly,” he added, feeling the need to defend Smoke.
Ron laughed. “I get it already.”
With Ron’s help, he managed to put all his boxes in the back of his car and some in the back seat.
“Thank you. I wish we could catch a quick coffee break,” he began, but Ron shook his head.
“This isn’t a good-bye. We’ll meet up again soon, and there’s that online meet up we planned with our guild mates.”
He nodded. Hard to imagine that a month ago, he had trouble agreeing to meeting the rest of their guild mates, with talking to people in general. Toby was still uncomfortable in most social situations, but he dealt with it a lot better. When Smoke was by his side, he felt a lot braver, able to do and say things his old self wouldn’t be able to.
“I’m looking forward to that,” he said. “If I learned something from meeting Smoke and you, it’s that people can surprise you.”
“If you didn’t reach out t
o me, neither of us would’ve known we both lived in Burrell or become such good friends.”
“Oh look, loser number one has another loser friend,” a familiar voice said loudly.
He warily took a step in front of Ron, spotting Ray and Benny walking their direction.
“Who are they?” Ron whispered behind him.
“Remember those two asshole werewolves I told you about?”
Ron widened his eyes in fear.
“You puny humans, you do know we can hear you?” Ray called. “Keep on talking, because this conversation will be your last.”
Chapter 15
“My mate knows your Alpha,” he stated. Toby wasn’t sure where all his bravery was coming from, because judging from their hostile yellow gazes, they didn’t just happen to be passing by this neighborhood. “How did you two even know I live here?”
Benny laughed, flashing fangs. “We didn’t, but Burrell is small enough. Eventually, we’d bump into you. Besides, who the hell do you think you and your silver-haired mate think you are?”
Benny seemed to have a whole lot to say, because he continued, “You’re nobodies. Your mate seemed to have spooked our Alpha, but you have no idea who you’re screwing with. We’re an entire pack against who? You and your mate?”
He straightened his spine. Ron clutched at his arm, but he went on, “Huh. From what I heard, your Alpha doesn’t want any trouble, and now you’re dragging your entire pack into this?”
“Benny, he has a point,” Ray said, looking uncertain now. “Will’s afraid of that silver-haired guy for a reason. Let’s just go.”
“No. I don’t care what kind of monster your mate is. No human can—” Benny was cut off as a large shadow seemed to cover the sky followed by a brassy rumble that was similar to the sound of thunder.
Night hadn’t fallen. It was just nearing sunset so there was still plenty of natural light. Ray and Benny’s faces paled, and he didn’t need to look up to know Smoke had arrived, and he wasn’t in human form. Even Ron gasped behind him. Finally, he followed the two werewolves’ line of sight to see Smoke had perched himself on top of his apartment building, looking imposing as hell, his brilliant silver wings flared open, slitted gaze narrowed.
