Journey within my Soul

Page 2

by Sierra St. Francis

Just as a heartbeat does when it begins to start.

The misty hue of dusk appears upon her coat.

Large expressive eyes are filled with wisdom.

And this she shall pass on for years to come.

For she is the Princess of the Wind in her kingdom.

  Legend of the Painted Fury

  Gracious God of painted fury.

Dance with me across the barren land.

Show me the way to your world

As we fly across the sand.

  Fire sparks hard

As your hooves touch the ground.

  Effortlessly, courageously

  Without the slightest sound.

Your voice is heard throughout the land.

As spirits of old shiver in your wake.

  Fighting to stay free.

  Whatever the costly stakes.

  Forever instilled in time.

Conjured in dreams of young and old.

  There shall always be legends.

For there will be stories to be told.

  Eight Seconds to Eternal Lore

  Sweat of horse and man.

  Intertwined like two brazen hearts.

Gallant times of old these two stand.

And they're courage will never part.

  Eight seconds of eternity.

  Lay between them evermore.

  Who will stand with victory?

Whose true test will become lore?

I hope that you have enjoyed my horse poetry. I have been working with horses for over 35 years now and have owned many different breeds of horses. My favorite breed is the Tennessee Walking Horse and the Morgan Horse. I currently work on a farm in Barnet, Vermont where I take care of six horses. Four of them were rescued. One of which happens to be my horse Lacey who was saved from slaughter in North Dakota. She was a PMU foal. She is also the horse that is on the cover of this ebook. Horses have been in my life since I was a young child. They have been there for me when the most tragic of events has happened to me and they are still there for me today. I would be a lost soul without the smell of horse. I am truly a horse crazy woman and Proud of it! Thank you again for reading my poetry and stay tuned for more works by me in the near future.
