Zero Degrees Part 2

by Leo Sullivan

Me and Lola were sitting outside on the stoop puffing a J when I noticed Yo Yo and a couple of her bird ass girls pulling up to the building across from us. “What’s that bitch’s name that’s wit’ Yo Yo? The one with the braids.” I asked passing the joint back to her.

“Oh, that’s Lexie,” she said shielding the sun from her eyes.

“Alexia Green, oh yeah,” I said suddenly remembering her fucking name. “That’s the bitch who gave Zeus her fuckin’ phone number at the pool party we had when he first came home. Not only that, she said she keyed my car and busted the windshield out with a brick.” My hands automatically balled up into fists and then I remembered the switchblade in my purse. I grabbed it and thought about how I was going to fuck that bitch’s face up. When I was done with her it was going to look like I’d rubbed her face against a fucking cheese grater.

“That bold ass bitch did what now?” She asked.

I’d known Lola since I was twelve and she’d always been a down ass chick. We’d never been friends, but I knew we would be on the same page after I explained the drama to her again. She was my type of bitch because she seemed to get even more hyped the second time I told her. Suddenly she went inside the apartment for a few minutes and then returned to the porch. She had her long weave pulled back into a bun.

“C’mon,” she gestured with her hand. I can’t stand those hoes anyway and I ain’t gave a bitch a good ass kickin’ in a minute. That slut Yo Yo called herself tryin’ to trick wit’ Tut. I got somethin’ for that ass.”

She didn’t have to tell me twice. I got up and followed her to where Yo Yo, Lexie and some light skinned broad I had never seen, were leaning against the car smoking a blunt. Lola had gone old school and passed me some brass knuckles and a rubber band. I didn’t need the brass knuckles, but I held on to them anyway. ‘Shit, what the hell?’ I thought as I put my hair up into a ponytail. Yo Yo noticed me first and I could clearly see the look of annoyance on her face.

“Did I blow your high bitch?” I asked with an evil smirk on my face.

She stood up trying to act all gully and shit. “Don’t flatter yourself hoe,” she said.

“Hoe?” I asked as I slid the brass knuckles on. “Fuck that, I’ll let Lola handle your ass.” Before anybody could move I stunned Lexie’s ass by pulling her from the hood of the car by her braids. She didn’t even have a chance to react. I was already landing powerful, brass covered blows to her head and face. A pile of her braids was on the ground by her feet. I didn’t even know that Lola had Yo Yo in the choke hold until I looked up and caught their companion running for dear life. That bama ass bitch didn’t even bother to help her girls.

Lola swung Yo Yo around like a rag doll until her big bobble head looking ass hit the concrete hard. After that she started stumping the hell out of that bitch. I focused my attention back to my victim and proceeded to continuously beat her head into the hood of the car. I didn’t even notice that a cheering crowd had gathered around us. Adrenaline was literally coursing through my veins. I wanted to make that bitch forget her fucking telephone number so she couldn’t give it to anybody else’s fucking man. When I was done with her she wouldn’t even remember her damn name. I didn’t want to kill the bitch, so I eased up on her. “Bet you really wish he’d put that number in his phone now. Huh bitch?” I asked as I grabbed the back of her head and brought her face down to my knee forcefully. I could hear the crunch as her nose broke.

Lexie was on the ground looking up at me. As I literally sat on top of her, I could see tears of defeat and fear in her eyes, when all I felt was victorious. That bitch’s face already looked like I’d sliced it up and I hadn’t even pulled my blade out yet. I reached into my pocket and pulled the knife out. Switchblades and butterfly knives were my favorites. I loved how quickly the blade popped out when I pressed the button. The sound was powerful and the horror on Lexie’s puffy, black and blue face proved it.

“Apologize to me bitch!” Spit flew as I placed the knife against her cheek.

She tried to be defiant, but I changed that shit really quickly as I pressed the blade deeper into the side of her face until I drew blood.

  “I’m sorry,” she whimpered.

“That ain’t loud enough bitch! Say it like you mean it! I want the whole projects to hear you, so repeat after me! I am sorry for being a trifling, disrespectful ass slut who tried to fuck your man right in your face.”

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she managed to say, “I am sorry for being a trifling, disrespectful ass slut who tried to fuck your man right in your face,” as loud as she could.

I was about to carve the letter Z deep into the layers of skin that covered her face to remind her of Zero and Zeus forever. Suddenly I froze when I heard a loud explosion and then another. Although I couldn’t see who it was, I knew that someone was shooting damn close to me. When I turned to look, Zeus was standing right behind me with his Desert Eagle pointed toward the cloudless, blue sky.

“What the fuck Ze!” He yelled before literally picking me up to put me in the car.

The crowd was starting to disperse and Lexie had finally sat up. “Bitch!” I yelled angrily as I wiped the sweat from my face. I watched as Lola kicked Yo Yo one last time before Tut drug her away from the fight.

“Ze, what the fuck? You could’ve killed that damn girl.” He glanced over at me and I stared right back at him. I looked back as he started the car and slowly pulled out of the projects

“That bitch’ll make it. Shit, that ass kickin’ was to teach her ass some fuckin’ respect!” I was mad as hell at him for stopping me before I was finished.

He just shook his head. “You still wanna get the bike or you wanna go to the crib?”

“That bitch ain’t stopped shit. I want my fuckin’ bike,” I said closing the switchblade before putting it in my pocket.

Not only did I go home with a pink and purple Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12 R, but Zeus had also surprised me with a custom 10 karat diamond necklace from his jeweler Amillio. By the time I got home I’d forgotten all about the fight with Lexie and I doubted that she’d ever disrespect another bitch again, especially not me.

I found out later that Zeus had stopped to see Tut because he needed him to help him find Money’s punk ass. Desi was still in Fayetteville, but no one had any idea where Money was and that bitch wasn’t talking. Tut and Money were first cousins, but Tut couldn’t stand Money’s weak ass. His loyalty was with Zeus, because that nigga always made sure that he and his were fed. It was just a matter of time before Money’s ass got his and I wanted to be the one to serve that nigga some cold ass revenge on a platter.

Peaches was pissed off that she didn’t get to kick Yo Yo’s ass. “Bitch, why didn’t you fuckin’ call me?”

“I ain’t have time to wait for your ass. Lola handled that bitch for you. Where’s Buff?”

She pointed. “In there on the phone with somebody named Don something.”

I rushed off and knocked on the office door. Buff opened it with the phone glued to his ear.

“Hell yeah, as soon as possible,” he said gesturing with his finger to his lips for me to stay quiet.

My lips were sealed if it meant we could finally get next to those fucks who murdered my father. I sat down and waited patiently, but he paced the floor as he talked.

“That’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout man. Call me right after you leave so we can discuss the details. I’m about to tell her about it right now. Okay. I gotcha man.” He hung up and sat down beside me.

“So, what’s going on Buff?” I asked suddenly feeling antsy.

“My man Donreco is in there. They trust him and he’s been doin’ business with them because they got old family connections. By some strange coincidence Don’s father used to run wit’ those muthafuckas back in the day and shit. They owed his pops a favor, but his pops died a few years ago. I guess fuckin’ wit’ Don is like cashin’ that favor in. Don don’t give a fuck about that shit though bec
ause now he thinks his father got killed because of fuckin’ wit’ them. Anyway, Donreco gave us a way to get next to them. He said that the only time they have their guard down a little is when they have their secret Poker Game during closing at their family’s Cuban restaurant. He said they don’t have much security around because the spot’s closed during that time. He got some high powered artillery waitin’ for us, since we can’t travel wit’ our own shit. I’m sure they got some big guns, but when we bust up in there spraying all over that bitch it’ll be lights out in that muthafucka for real. We goin’ to Miami this weekend. They have their Poker Night every Saturday starting at 12:30 am in the restaurant’s basement and they normally leave around four. It’s their time to discuss business, conspire to murder and extort mufuckas. I’m ready to empty a whole magazine in somebody’s chest. For sho,” he said. “A nigga fucks wit’ you, he fucks wit’ me.”

I nodded, because since the day we’d met he’d proven himself. Buff’s word was definitely his bond, because he was a real ass nigga. He’d always had my back.

He had my attention. “I just wanna be sure ya’ll murk those niggas.”

“We goin’ have to finesse this shit properly, but we goin’ take care of them,” he assured me before laying out what they planned to do.

A week had flown by and it was the day before our trip to Miami. I sat on the bed and watched as Zeus prepared to take a shower.

“Okay babe, have you thought about letting me…”

“Hell no Ze! Drop that shit okay. It’s no way I’m lettin’ you near those muthafuckas. It’s too dangerous. It ain’t like that shit wit’ Goody,” he said angrily.

“A’ight, but I want you to know that I ain’t scared of them muthafuckas,” I said with an attitude. He was pissing me off acting like I was all soft and shit.

“Baby, we already discussed this,” he said impatiently.

I nodded. “I know. I just wanna make sure that they’re dead. I want to see for myself, even if I can’t participate. At least let me come.”

Zeus sighed as he made his way over to me. He pulled me up by my hand and wrapped his arms around my waist. “I’ll do anything for you Zeaira.” He kissed my forehead tenderly. “Believe and trust me when I say that those snakes will burn. You have my word. I promise.”

“Okay, okay babe, I trust you. So, all you want me to do is chill and lounge for the day while you and Buff take all the risks?”

He smiled at me. “You finally got it. That’s all I want you to do. You let me and Buff take care of the rest.”

All I wanted to do was end the Gutierrez brothers’ existence with a huge, powerful assault weapon in my hands. Retribution was mine and I wanted it so badly that I could taste it on my tongue. As bad as I yearned to be the one sending hot slugs through their flesh and bone until I saw blood, it really didn’t matter who killed them, or how, as long as they suffered until they took their last breath. After that I wanted those muthafuckas to burn in hell for an eternity multiplied by infinity times infinity with gasoline boxers on.

  Chapter 6

We had just landed in Miami and it was hot as hell when we stepped off the plane.

“Damn, my ass don’t give a shit how beautiful this place is, it’s hotter than a dragon’s pussy,” I said fanning my face with my hand like that shit was going to cool me down as we walked out of Miami National. I was dressed for the occasion in a white sundress and my Gucci sandals

“Hell yeah,” Peaches agreed with a frown contorting her pretty features. Beads of perspiration had started to form on her nose.

Buff and Zeus walked ahead of us.

“Oh, it’s like that now that we’re in MIA huh? Ya’ll niggas wanna act all brand new and shit like you ain’t wit’ us,” Peaches said as she winked at me.

I played along. “Uh huh. At home we can’t pay ya’ll asses to let us breath.”

Zeus laughed. “Ya’ll walkin’ all slow, complainin’ and shit.”

Buff gave Zeus a pound in agreement. “Damn right. We’re here to handle business, not to listen to ya’ll bitch and moan.”

“They won’t be complainin’ after they get access to the Black Card,” Zeus said with a smirk on his face.

“Who the fuck said I wanna shop like I’m some prissy, materialistic bitch like Peaches.”

Peaches gave me a look of contempt.

I shrugged my shoulders as I looked at her. “Well, if the shoe fits.” I focused my attention back to Zeus. “I wanna go wit’ you and Buff, but…”

“Kill that shit Ze. I thought I told you that shit last night. I don’t want to hear shit else about it,” Zeus said forcefully.

I wanted to cuss that nigga out, but I did agree to drop it the night before. He didn’t know how bad I wanted to be part of that shit.

“A’ight, damn,” I said feeling the sweat forming on my forehead. Holding in what I really wanted to say was hard as hell because I normally spoke my mind. I was really tempted to infiltrate Buff and Zeus’s secret location of the restaurant. They wouldn’t even tell me the name of it out of fear that I’d Google the address. I mean, of course I had thought about it.

We walked inside the airport and the cool air immediately helped me relax a little bit. My adrenaline was pumping, but shopping and lounging on the beach wasn’t going to calm me down.

“That’s better,” I said taking in a deep breath of the air conditioned atmosphere.

“Much,” Peaches agreed as our men led us to baggage claim.

We grabbed our things and headed to rent two cars. Although we were used to lavish things, we didn’t want to bring unnecessary attention to ourselves. We drove away from the airport in a Blue Maxima and Zeus and Buff were driving a black Honda Accord. After we were settled in our suite at the ocean front Hilton Hotel Buff and Zeus left to go meet Donreco. Me and Peaches lounged around in the fancy, luxurious suite.

The bedrooms were furnished with King sized beds adorned in Versace bedding, soft, plush carpets, beautiful cherry wood bureaus and floor to ceiling windows that showed off a magnificent view of the sandy beach. The bathrooms were even more elaborate with Italian marble floors, gold fixtures, Jacuzzi, double showers and steam room. A bottle of Cristal sat in an ice bucket on the kitchen counter with a note.

  To our beautiful ladies,

Relax, get in the Jacuzzi, or just kick back. There’s a spa in the hotel that ya’ll can hit up too. We’re leaving in the morning, so have fun and use the Black Card if you go out.

  Zeus and Buff

I found the Black Card under the note. They were able to get a nice line of credit due to their legitimate businesses, so having a Black Card was not a thing. Peaches was all excited about going on a shopping spree in MIA, but I wasn’t. I was more consumed with the thought of getting confirmation that the mission was accomplished.

“Fuck kicking back. Let’s wash this sweat off our asses, get cute and run that damn bill up,” Peaches said with a huge smile spreading across her full lips.

All that bitch ever thought about was money. “A’ight,” I said shrugging my shoulders like it really made me no difference. All I could think about was finding a way to get to that restaurant with a gun in my hand. I had murder on my mind, not fucking shopping sprees and spas. I was Zero, not Peaches, so that superficial bullshit didn’t move me.

  * * *

The streets were dark as Zeus, Buff and Donreco climbed out of the dark utility van that was parked a half block away from the back of the restaurant. They all had the best in automatic high powered weaponry and magazines after magazine of ammunition. They planned to empty each clip into those bastards like they were on some straight up Ramboo shit. They all slid black ski masks over their faces and were dressed in all black. They literally blended in with the darkness as they quietly made their way to the back of the establishment. Donreco led them to the back door that he’d propped open earlier that night. He knew that no one would check that door because it led to a back alley an
d was never opened. That shit was too easy, but they didn’t know what they were walking into.

Donreco took the front since he was used to the layout of the spot. He’d never been invited to one of their Poker Games after hours, but he’d been in the basement before. The basement had been turned into an illegal casino with just about every game you’d find in Vegas. There was a Backgammon table, Black Jack table and several slot machines. As they slowly crept into the room they noticed several men sitting at the Poker table with stacks of money and Poker chips. There were four, muscular men facing the door with AK 47s sitting close to the bar. They knew that the actual cartel members weren’t heavily armed because those meeting were top secret. They only had a minimum of armed guards, just in case.

Zeus was armed with a black AR-15 with two fifty round clips that he was ready to use. His trigger finger itched and he thought about his woman as he ran pass Donreco into the room with his finger barely even touching the trigger.

Tat tat tat tat tat tat tat tat tat tat tat!!! The continuous spray of bullets entered their bodies, making the men do a jerky dance as they ripped skin, tore muscles and cracked the bones of the four men who were supposed to be protecting the bosses. As they were being rattled with hot slugs chunks of gory flesh, brain matter, blood and body parts scattered around the room. Blood quickly covered the walls, floor, bar and bar stools. The four men succumbed to death’s grip right there with their weapons only inches away.

It sounded like the fourth of July in New York City up in that bitch because Buff and Donreco had already joined in the deadly, made for a Hollywood block buster like massacre that was their real life. Buff was holding two silver Mac 11s, which were like smaller, hand held Mac 10s. He quickly pointed them at the bosses who had no idea what was going on
