Marked in a Vision

She smiled at the thought as her hand came up to play with her necklace that she had not taken off since Jay gave it to her, her ring glinting from the sunlight. She was walking back the way she came when her eyes caught the shine of a jewel and she noticed that looked like her necklace in the window of small shop. Intrigued, she walked through the door and stopped in amazement as she saw the woman behind the counter.
“Myra,” she sighed as she stepped over to the counter.
“Hello, Emily, how are you doing?” she cackled with a knowing smile. “I see he gave you the necklace. He has good tastes,” she added nodding to the ring.
“Myra,” Emily started and then she stopped.
“Emily, do not worry. You are softhearted, my child, but you know the truth better than anyone. Victoria made her own mistakes and those mistakes were put right,” Myra told her.
Emily felt as if a weight had been lifted from her although she did not understand why as Myra told her what everyone else told her.
Myra chuckled as she stated, “But not everyone knows what you saw and you did not tell anyone.”
Emily nodded her head slowly before she frowned at a thought, “Taylor…he looked so unforgiving those last few minutes before he disappeared with her.”
Myra sighed softly before she smiled, “He could not forgive her for what she had done although he loved her. As he told you, she got her just rewards while he got his mate.”
As her words penetrated, Emily gasped, “How did you know what he told me?”
Myra’s eyes gleamed as she said, “Unfortunately for him, I do know EVERYTHING.”
Emily could not help but laugh as she nodded her head.
“Goodbye, Myra,” she said softly, “Thank you for your help.”
“You are welcome, my child,” Myra said softly. Then as the door closed behind Emily, she whispered, “Congratulations, Emily” and she smiled before she vanished.
Later that evening lying in the bed that felt empty without Jay, Emily snuggled into Jay’s pillow as she began to drift off to sleep.
Her mind before sleep overtook her flashed for a second:
“Mommy,” the child cried in delight and Emily smiled. A beautiful child with deep green eyes and brown hair ran towards her and Emily felt their small arms encircle her neck as she heard a masculine laugh. She looked up into green eyes that filled with such love and she felt contentment sweep through her as he leaned down to kiss her.
“Thank you,” he whispered.
The vision faded, but Emily’s body relaxed on the bed and her body snuggled even deeper into Jay’s pillow as sleep claimed her.
The next day, Emily and Michaela were in the garden laughing and chasing Angel when she froze
“Aunt Emily,” Michaela said.
“Uncle Jay and Uncle Mark are home,” Emily said and Michaela screamed in delight as she ran inside. Emily followed more slowly although she was just as anxious to see Jay biting her lip as she entered the kitchen.
Jay’s eyes found her immediately and he smiled as he headed in her direction. He was inches from her when he stopped and took a deep breathe.
“Emily,” he said as he realized what he smelled.
Emily fiddled with her hands as she said, “Sasha said you would know for sure although she already told me my scent had changed.”
He took another deep breathe and he closed his eyes as his wolf started howling in happiness. She was pregnant, his mate was pregnant! His eyes snapped open and Emily gasped as his green eyes were bright with joy and excitement.
“I am going to be a father,” he shouted as he took those couple of inches in one step and swung Emily up into his arms swinging her around in a tight circle.
“We are going to be parents,” he said kissing her sweetly.
“Congratulations, big brother,” Mark said where he stood with his arm around Sasha and his unborn child.
Sasha laughed as Michaela looked at her and asked, “Does this mean I am going to have another cousin?”
Sasha smiled down at her as she curled an arm around her shoulders, “Yes, pumpkin, now let us go and leave them alone.”
“But Aunt Sasha…” Michaela pleaded as she was pulled out of the room.
Emily smiled at him, “Excited?”
“Hell, yes,” Jay exclaimed before he kissed her again. Then he asked her as they broke apart breathlessly, “Did you see anything?”
“I saw a child with your gorgeous green eyes and my brown hair,” Emily said. Then she frowned, “Jay, what about my gift? What if…?”
“Emily, I hope our child does have your gift for it is a special part of you and I will love them just as much as I love their beautiful mother. Besides,” he added with a grin, “they will be both a seer and a shifter.”
Emily laughed as Jay looked at her with a slight frown, “A child?” he asked.
She nodded her head as she said with disappointment, “I could not tell if it was a boy or a girl.”
Jay laughed as he hugged her to him before he pulled back again to drop to his knees and lifting her shirt, he placed a light kiss on her belly where his child was already nestled beginning to grow.
He stood back up quickly and swept her back into his arms as he said, “Just means we have to wait and see. Even you, my love, cannot see everything.”
“True,” Emily said, and then she teased, “But we can continue working on it, right? One boy, one girl.”
Jay could not contain his laughter as he swung her up and around again. He remembered what his father had said about his mom when they talked about the idea of mates. He knew as he lowered Emily to her feet to kiss her passionately as she wrapped her arms around him that his father had been right in what he had said that day, but he had not completely understood it. He did now though; Emily was perfect…for him, only him.
