  I looked at a bewildered Debra. “Okay, pretty lady, I’m going to do some magic. You’re safe, but I want to surprise my wife at the castle with the lovely lady I found. First, I want to make you invisible, so they won’t see you until I’m ready. Then, were going to be inside the castle all of a sudden; I just don’t want you to be scared.”

  She smiled her friendly smile again. “I won’t be scared, Seth. You seem like you’re a really nice boy.”

  I chuckled. “Thank you, Miss, now here we go.” I cast invis on her and then ported us just outside of my apartment. I whispered, “Are you okay?”

  A disembodied voice replied, “That was the neatest trick I’ve ever seen!”

  Chuckling, I opened the door. Piled all over the bed were all the ladies in my life, other than my little Tamia. There were my four official consorts and the four sisters that would be consorts, if I was ever rested again. Tabitha was sitting in the middle of them all, so I made an announcement. “Everyone, I went to the west side pub this evening and found a lovely young lady on the stairs there. I brought her home to meet everyone and I think she should stay with us, if she wants to.”

  Tabitha laughed. “Are you picking on me again about the way I met Heather?”

  I shook my head. “I think you’ll understand why I brought her home and I’ll let you decide where she should stay. Everyone, meet my new friend Debra! Today’s her birthday; she’s twelve today.” I dropped the invisibility spell and the cute, curly headed girl became visible.

  She curtsied. “Good evening, everyone, it’s nice to meet Seth’s friends. Did you know that he’s a really nice boy?”

  For the first time ever, I’d rendered all of my ladies speechless. Karly was the first to get her feet on the floor and come over to where we were standing. She dropped to her knees, putting herself near face level. She looked at the girl, then finally spoke, “Why don’t you come up here on the giant bed with us and we can get to know each other.”

  I nodded and smiled as she went with Karly. “Ladies, you might be happy to know that I got to the pub shortly after she did. None of the men there had invited her to a room. She didn’t know why the men might want to talk in a room anyway.” I could see the fire in my tiny spouse’s eyes as she slid off the bed. She crossed to me and led me away from the bed and little ears.

  “What was a twelve year old virgin doing in a brothel and what did you do about it?”

  I laughed. “I shot the bouncer in the foot with a magic arrow and sent a message to the governor that I wanted a law enacted forbidding girls under fifteen from working.”

  She nodded. “That’s a start. I’ll have Anne help me write a note saying that there are to be regular inspections of the pubs, and employing girls under legal age will result in the business being seized.”

  “That’s a very good idea, my love. Now we need to find out where our newest addition to the family is going to stay.”

  Tabitha giggled. “Don’t you think she’s a little young for you to bring her into the family? I know she’s of legal age for a consort, but she’s so tiny it seems wrong. She’s hardly bigger than Tamia! Besides, there are four others on that bed who wish you’d take them and ravage them.”

  I rolled my eyes. “I was thinking that she could wear the blue and white so she’d be protected. As for her position, she could be a scullery maid; or maybe the sisters would like to keep her at their place. In five or six years, after all my other consorts have grown tired of me and run away, she might be interested in the old man.”

  Tabitha laughed. “I was teasing about you taking her as a consort. I didn’t think that’s what you had in mind. Let’s go see what we can do with her.” She kissed me then took my hand, leading me back to the conference bed.

  Holly was the first to speak when we arrived. “Seth, my sisters and I were wondering if Debra could stay with us. She only owns the one, too sexy for her age, dress that she has on. We still have lots of money and would be willing to buy her clothes tomorrow. We won’t take her to Ohana, though, because they might be looking for her. There is plenty of room and Rosemary has always wanted a little sister.”

  “The tailor in the courtyard should be able to supply everything she needs. I agree that her dress is a bit too old for her, so I’ll pay for anything she wants. Getting her out of there was my idea, anyway. Just get her plain cloth-colored clothes, because Tabitha and I have decided to put her in blue and white. That is, if you’d like to be a part of our family, Debra.”

  A tear trickled down her cheek. “You mean I could stay with y’all and be with these sweet and friendly ladies? You’ll buy me new clothes and give me a home? I ain’t ever felt this wanted before! You really are a sweet boy, Seth!”

  Chapter Twenty-Four

  The temperature dropped as winter moved in. One day, at the end of our training, Alec made an announcement.

  “Ladies and gentlemen, I believe I’ve done all that I can here. You’re tougher and stronger than I’d even hoped. You have skills with several weapons and could certainly hold your own in a battle. I don’t know what your grandfather has in mind for you, but I’m certain that you’ll be up to the challenge. I’m sure I’ll see you again, because I’m always somewhere.”

  Raven curtsied, Warin bowed, but Cel and I wrapped him up in a family hug. And then we were on the riverbank.

  Grandfather was all smiles. “You survived your training and you still love your brother. That is very good news, but I have some good news of my own. The ants have slowed to a crawl, if you’ll pardon the pun, during this colder weather. They are sure to make Eredwynn by early spring, but you’ll have the winter to relax. Now, I’ve brought you each a graduation present.”

  He walked down the line and handed Celina, Raven and me very unusual-looking swords in their scabbards. They had a narrow blade that was slightly curved and ended in a wedge-shaped point. The handles were round and long enough to be gripped with either one or two hands. The crossguard that protected the hands was round like a cup. Warin’s was similar, but about two feet longer. Alec was given a beautiful dagger with a very ornate sheath. They were deadly works of art, but the thing that stood out the most was the faint blue glow that the blades gave off.

  Raven was the first to ask, “Grandfather, these are beautiful swords and we thank you for them, but why do they glow?”

  “I’m glad you asked, my adopted granddaughter. Take your sword and hit that boulder with it. Don’t worry, you won’t hurt the blade.”

  Raven did as she was instructed and hit the boulder with her new sword, but not very hard. The blade sliced through the stone like a hot knife through butter.

  Grandfather smiled. “The blades will never be dulled and cannot be broken. They will cut through anything that you should find the need to strike. Since they are lighter than the swords that Alec taught you to use, you should be able to move these more quickly. I’d advise that you practice with them so you become familiar with the weight, but be careful. I wouldn’t want you to cut a support column out of the castle.”

  Raven, Celina and I all hugged Grandfather as a way of showing our thanks, while Warin and Alec bowed. He smiled all the while and then bid us farewell. “I’ll see you after the thaw in the spring. Enjoy your leisure time, but keep your bodies strong.” And he was gone.

  Raven ported out, Celina and Warin ported out and I ported to the courtyard. I walked into the castle and up to the second floor. I looked back down toward the foyer in time to see a very attractive young maid walking by. I called down to her, “Excuse me, Miss, would you come here for a moment?”

  She answered as she came up the stairs, “Of course, My Lord; how can I be of service?”

  “This room, the first one on the right, do you know who it belongs to?”

  “Yes, sir, that room belongs to Heather. Did you need something in there?”

  I smiled. “Could you show me around so I can see if there is anything she might need or want?”

  She returned my
smile. “Of course, Your Highness; come in and look around.”

  I closed the door behind us and turned her around to face me. I grabbed her buttocks and pulled her against me. I floated myself a few inches from the floor and kissed her passionately. I took a breath and laughed, saying, “Heather, you’re just too good at role playing.”

  She was breathing quite heavily and spoke softly, “Seth, is there any special reason you wanted in my room?”

  I nodded. “It isn’t just your room that I wanted in, if you don’t mind, My Lady.” I floated us the length of the room and laid us on the bed.

  She whispered, “I was beginning to think that you didn’t really want me.”

  “Nothing could be further from the truth,” I replied. “I’ve been so tired lately, but we graduated today. This sword was a graduation present from my grandfather. Are you willing to give me a graduation present, too?”

  “Anything you want, Seth; just tell me what you want me to do.”

  “Heather, I want you to let me make love to you. I doubt that has happened often.”

  She shook her head. “Please do, because I’ve never made love before. My only experience in bed with a man consisted of hoping that he’d hurry and get it over with. That’s why I felt so strongly about keeping Debra out of that place. I still owe you for protecting my sisters from the same fate.”

  I pulled my tunic over my head and her dress disappeared before I could reach for my trousers. I pulled them off and then began kissing. I slid down her body, kissing as I went. Her stomach was jumping with anticipation as I kissed her cute belly button. I went lower and she gasped when my tongue found the right spot. Her breathing went into high gear and she rotated her body around toward my feet. When she got herself turned around, she rolled me onto my side, uncovering my hard and ready erection.

  She gasped. “How can such a small man as you have that below the belt?”

  I chuckled. “If you’re afraid I’ll hurt you, we can stop now.”

  She laughed softly. “Oh, no, we can’t! I’m sure I can handle it, but take it slow.”

  I nodded and then went back to what I’d been doing. She gasped again and then took me into her mouth. My concentration wavered, but I managed to draw orgasm after orgasm with my lips and tongue. She used my member to muffle her cries and moans.

  I rolled to my back. “I can’t trust myself not to just bury myself in you. I’ll lie here and you can settle it in.”

  “Good idea; I think I made it even larger than it was. Maybe doing what I did wasn’t a good idea.”

  “I disagree! I think it was a wonderful idea and you can do that any time you feel the urge.”

  She laughed and began lowering herself onto me. Every pleasure nerve in my body was firing and I fought the urge to pull her down and force myself into her tight, hot tunnel. She settled me fully inside her and with a happy smile began working her hips. Circles, back and forth, up and down like the professional that she’d been. She had incredible control of the muscles inside her and the squeezing, along with the motion, drove me rapidly to a climax. Our eyes were rolling back at the same time as I thrust up into her. My body spasmed with hers as I filled her.

  There was a soft knock on the door and it opened. Holly looked in, calling, “Heather, are you in here?” She saw us on the bed and closed the door, moving to the side of the bed. “So you finally got him, did ya? When is it going to be our turn?”

  Heather laughed and rolled off of me. Holly’s eyes went wide. “How can a woman get that inside her? Maybe I should rethink this a bit. I thought they were much smaller than that, more like finger-sized or so! I’m glad I didn’t find out the hard way, like you had to, sis.”

  Heather gave a comforting smile. “We’ll talk about it later, all right, sweetheart? Don’t worry about it too much right now, and don’t make any decisions that you’ll have a hard time getting out of. Seth is a wonderful man and if you two decided to make love, you’d never want another. Believe me; I know that for a fact.”

  “Okay, we’ll talk about it, but I’m not going to be so pushy. Right now I’ll just be content being an unconsummated farm consort. Maybe I’ll wait for Jasmine or Rosemary to go first. We’re all three virgins and… I donno… we’ll talk about it. I don’t remember what I came for.” She turned and walked out.

  Heather and I started laughing and I gasped out, “It isn’t really so big that it’s scary, is it?”

  Heather nodded, still laughing. “It is pretty scary, especially for a virgin who thought she wanted you and had never seen a naked man before.”

  “Well, if Holly and the others decide that they don’t want to consummate our relationship, I’ll just have to make do with the six that enjoy making love to me. You’re willing to do this again sometime, aren’t you?”

  “Oh, yes, and I’m willing any time or place and now that I’m used to you, any position that you want to take me in will make me happy.”

  “That sounds like fun, but I’d better get dressed and go show my graduation present to Tabitha. I’ll also tell her that you’re now a consummated member of the family. I would like for you to talk to your sisters on my behalf. I’ve really become fond of them and it would bother me to think that they were afraid I’d hurt them.”

  She smiled understandingly. “I will talk to them. I’ve noticed that you’ve become attached to my sisters, especially Rosemary. I think you like her because she’s a bit mouthy, just like you.”

  I nodded as I finished dressing. “You may be right about Rosemary, and I’m sure I’ve become attached to the other two, also. There would be tears if they decided to leave; I’m quite softhearted, in case you hadn’t noticed.”

  She whispered, “I’ve noticed.” Then I kissed her goodbye and slid out the door.

  The weather grew colder and I remembered what I hated about winter. The hot water radiators that were all over the castle helped a lot. We kept both fireplaces burning in our room and the fireplace in the nursery was constantly tended. I woke with Tabitha smiling down at me and Anne on my arm. She’d stayed the night with us and I could tell I’d grown much stronger when I played with her.

  Tabitha whispered, “I’d like to get out of the castle today. Would you take me to Ohana? There’s nothing that we really need, except for some time outside of these walls.”

  “I’d be honored to escort you, my lovely little Lady.” I quietly extracted my arm from under Anne and got dressed. We both dressed warmly in the family colors and I shoved some money in my pocket. I ported us to the city just as it was waking up.

  We wandered past the governor’s office and down the main street. As we passed the west side pub and inn, I noticed that the doors were locked and roped off. A notice was hanging on the door. Tabitha and I went up to investigate. The sign read:

  This building was closed after three warnings, due to an age violation of a law set forth by the Lord and Lady of Starford. The property has been confiscated and shall be turned over to them in due course.

  Governor Ridley

  Tabitha and I looked at each other and she spoke first, “I suppose this means that the Governor got my message and enforced it. It also means that we’re property owners in the city. If we do open this place back up, I’ll have to consider the pros and cons of having working girls.”

  I nodded. “I agree, my love. After what we’ve seen with Debra and the sisters, we know that many girls aren’t given a choice. My heart couldn’t deal with that.”

  She nodded and we continued down the street, looking at wares in front of shops and acknowledging the people that bowed or curtsied. As we were passing an alley near the general store in the middle of town, I saw a pile of dirty clothes lying against the outside of the store’s fireplace. When the pile moved, it really got my attention. I led Tabitha down the alley and discovered that the pile of clothing was being worn by a dozen girls. Mama Tabitha showed up.

  “Excuse me, girls,” she said loudly enough to wake them all, “what are you do
ing sleeping here?”

  One of the older girls stood up. “Excuse us, ma’am, but we were just trying to keep warm. It got very cold last night.”

  Tabitha asked, “Why aren’t you at home? Surely there’s someplace better to sleep.”

  The girl shook her head. “With the law about having to be fifteen to work in the pub and the west side being shut down, we couldn’t find a place to work. Besides, there are too many of us to all get jobs, even if both pubs were open. Our families turned us out and we’re just trying to make do.”

  Tabitha took a deep breath. “My name is Tabitha, Lady of Starford. This is my husband, Seth. If you ladies would like, we’ll take you in and make sure you have good meals and a warm place to sleep, won’t we, Seth.”

  I chuckled. “Absolutely! This man knows better than to contradict his wife!”

  The girls giggled and Tabitha waved a guard over, who looked at the crowd of young ladies. “Would you like me to have these girls move along, My Lady?”

  Tabitha shook her head. “No, what I’d like you to do is tell the other guards in town something for me. If there are any young ladies who can’t find honest work in town and have been put out of their homes, they are to be sent to Starford. We’ll find work for them until they can get on their feet and make lives for themselves.”

  The guard grinned. “That message I’ll very happily spread. It breaks my heart to see young ladies huddled by the buildings in winter. We often have girls freeze, but no one has ever offered a solution before. Thank you, My Lady!”

  Tabitha turned to me. “Could you change their clothes to match ours and port us all to Starford or will that be too much?”

  “Fourteen of us only five miles shouldn’t be a problem. Thank you for asking, though.”

  She laughed. “Purely selfish reasons, because I want you conscious and keeping me warm all winter.”

  I walked down the line of girls and asked each one if they’d like to go to the castle, under our protection, and do whatever chores Lady Tabitha asked them to do. As they agreed, I changed their clothing, with their permission, to match our blue and white. I then explained how the transportation spell was going to work and ported us all to the courtyard of the castle.
