Your Heart Is Mine (Our Hearts Are Lost Book 1)
Page 20
Somehow, I didn’t come right then. I held back and I deserved some kind of medal. Ah, but something better awaited me.
I settled on top of her, chest to chest. Her eyes turned up with her smile when she kissed my lips. My fingertips brushed the nerves between her legs and she gasped against my mouth for an instant. She writhed for several long moments before I decided to try something else.
When I slipped two fingers into her slick entrance, she gripped my shoulders. “Oh!” she exclaimed softly.
I had to pull my mouth away to speak. “Something wrong?”
She tried to keep breathing while her hips moved with my hand. “No.” She smiled and blushed pure red. “It’s just that no one’s… well, I didn’t know what that would feel like.”
My forehead wrinkled but I kept circling her from the inside. “No one’s done this?” Whatever bastards she’d been with had been even moronic then. They should have taken care of her before they even thought about themselves.
Lynnie nodded, breathing a little shallower. “I’ve only ever kissed before.” She paused while a deeper blush blossomed on her cheeks. “Is that okay?” she added with worry.
“Yeah, of course. I just… didn’t know.”
“Well… now you do. I’m the queen of timing.”
I laughed to myself. “So we’re in agreement on that.”
I kissed Lynnie’s mouth, her breast, then her stomach. Hips… closer and closer. My eyes flashed up to see her. She watched me, knowing what I wanted to do. The smile on her face gave it away. I still watched her as I pulled her legs apart. She laid back, getting comfortable.
I didn’t want to disappoint her. It all had to be perfect. Never had I been so nervous during sex. Probably because no girl had mattered like this before her. I didn’t remember names or faces. This… this did not feel the same. Rocelyn belonged to me, and she would get everything she deserved.
My mouth went over her and she instantly moaned. I did too. Her taste became too much for me. Fire and sugar worked against my tongue as I swirled it around her, varying from circling to prodding.
Shockingly, she seemed calmer for this climax. She let out a loud sigh followed by heavy breathing.
I kissed her all the way back up her body, stopping at the tip of her breast again. I alternated between the two, nipping and sucking at the skin. I wanted to make sure Lynnie’s heartbeat didn’t steady for the entire night.
I made it back to her mouth for a quick and chaste kiss. Her eyes barely stayed open and she settled down. I brushed damp hair out of her face. “You can sleep if you want.”
She panted crossly at me. “Not a chance.”
I laughed and it sounded gruff. Lynnie seemed to enjoy that if the look on her face meant anything. Her hand started exploring the outside of my boxers before she forced them off me.
We had nothing between us. I was hard and pressed against her thigh as I kissed her lips, buying time. She moved so fervently without an ounce of hesitation. She didn’t even notice my hands shaking.
“Are you okay?” she asked me when the kisses slowed.
I nodded, pressing my forehead to hers. “I’m scared I’ll hurt you.”
She smiled and brushed her fingers along my cheek. “That’s okay. I can be brave for the both of us.”
I swallowed dryly. “You’ll tell me if it’s too much?”
“I promise.” She separated her legs and I moved accordingly. My tip pressed right at the hot dampness that had gathered between her legs.
As slowly as I could, I started pushing inside of her. Her body jerked slightly at the pressure and she gasped as she grabbed at me. She was so small, and I was… not. I slipped my inches in, watching her face to make sure I didn’t hurt her too much. She started panting before I pushed all the way inside.
When I stopped moving further, Lynnie looked down. “Huh,” she stated curiously.
I laughed again. “What? Is it bad?”
She sucked her bottom lip between her teeth and her eyes went sideways as she blushed. “Um…” She smiled. “It feels… interesting. Not bad, just… new..” She looked embarrassed, but I found it stunning. I kissed the center of her throat and moved back up.
“Is it too much?” I asked.
She shook her head and her hip twitched. “It’s good. I like it. I like you being this close to me.”
Something in my chest warmed and I couldn’t remember who I had been yesterday. He didn’t matter anymore. Lynnie and I were connected, and everything changed. I shared her soul when inside of her. The only time I ever had one.
Lynnie breathed deeply, looking right at me. “How does it feel for you?” she repeated my question.
I smiled at her with the lightness she gave me. “I feel… human. I feel human, being with you.”
Her eyes changed. It looked like the moment had been as profound for her as it had for me.
I waited for her to give a signal that she wanted to go on. Her muscles clenched around me, as if she needed to be any tighter… And then she rolled those hips of hers.
Her eyes closed and a moan escaped her. I followed right behind her, feeling everything. I went slow so that Lynnie could get used to it. I let her decide when it would change. It took a few minutes before she moved her hips in time with mine. Then she picked up the pace, urging me with her eyes to do the same. I thrust harder, getting all new noises from her.
I heard my name in the most beautiful tenor imaginable. Desperate and weak and hungry all at the same time. All these sounds of pleasure, I brought them out of her. I almost couldn’t comprehend that thought. I had believed this moment wouldn’t be possible. Yet somehow, I found myself here. When I slammed my hips into hers, her nails almost broke through my sides. So I did it again, and again.
Lynnie hardly breathed, focused only on the pleasure. I brought her legs around my waist, allowing myself to repeatedly slip deeper and deeper into her.
I recognized when she came again. All breathing stopped and she clenched around me, eyes going dull for a moment. So perfect.
I drew closer to my own climax, but I didn’t want it to be over. I slowed down, hoping to keep it going.
Lynnie panted and her hands went to my face. “Are you all right, sweetie?”
I shook my head, still driving myself into her.
“What’s wrong?”
I looked away, speaking low. “I don’t want it to be over yet. I need you.”
She smiled up at me, still holding me. Everything about her seemed so gentle. “You have me, Isaiah. I’ll still be here after. As long as you want me.”
As long as I wanted her? Like this could all evaporate and I could get over her. Impossible.
“It’s okay,” my little love soothed. “It’s okay,” she said again.
It became too much. She became too much. All this affection that I didn’t know I craved. She gave me everything I needed and didn’t know existed. I thrust into her one last time, and stilled. She held me while I came inside of her. I knew I shouldn’t have poisoned her with me, but I did it for purely selfish and horrid reasons. I wanted part of me to stay with her. I hated myself for it, but something in my chest eased anyway.
I hesitated pulling out of her, but she needed rest. She wouldn’t tell me, but there had to be pain. After I pulled out of her, I laid my head over her chest, listening to her heart as it slowed beneath me.
Her fingers swirled in my hair and she caught her breath. The whole world felt calm for the first time in my life. No voices. No impending hatred. Everything seemed beautiful.
CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO:
Candles in the Darkness
Rocelyn
Isaiah had vanished by the time I woke up. We’d fallen asleep spooning, and I found myself unbelievably sad that we didn’t wake up that way.
I sat up, looking for a person I didn’t see. Blue laid in a ball at the end of the bed, but Isaiah couldn’t be found in the room. He wouldn’t have left… right?
Then he walked thr
ough the bedroom door, holding a tray of food. He wore his boxers and t-shirt only. I clutched the blanket to my chest. He frowned a little when he saw me. “I was hoping you’d still be asleep. I didn’t want you to think I left. I made this for you.” He set the tray on my nightstand and leaned down to give me a chaste kiss before he sat beside me.
“Um,” I said. “Good morning.” Good choice… you screwed him, but give him a cold greeting. Great job, dumbass.
He still grinned. “Good morning. How are you feeling?”
Oh no, he was still being nice. Is this him being normal, or is this him being as unsure about everything as I am. I needed to let him off the hook. He deserved as much.
I looked at my blanket-covered lap. “Listen…”
“Oh no.”
My eyes went up to him and I took his hand. He glared at it. “Isaiah, I care about you more than I think I’ve ever cared about anyone in my whole life. And you made my first time so perfect. I’ll remember it forever. But.”
“But,” he growled.
“But I don’t want you to feel trapped. I want to make sure we’re on the same page.”
He breathed out, looking a little more than relieved. “I had no intentions of sleeping with you and abandoning you. And no, that doesn’t mean I feel responsible for you. It means that I wanted, still want, to be with you. I thought you were my girlfriend up until you started talking. How very high school of me.”
I smiled and threw my arms around him. “That’s fine,” I said frantically. “Be high school. Hell, I’m in high school. Oh…” I backed up but held onto him. “…that was probably a dumb thing to say to the adult man I just slept with.”
He smoothed my hair. “It’s all right.” He eyed the necklace on my throat — the only thing I had on — and he looked back up. “Just so we’re clear…”
I nodded. “Yes, you are my boyfriend. Oh, I like the sound of that. You won’t get in trouble, right?”
He shook his head. “We’re not doing anything illegal. Honestly, we’re only a few years apart. I can’t imagine anyone would blink at the number in a year or two. Though, I probably won’t advertise that we’re dating. Mostly because I don’t have a soul to tell.”
I shrugged. “Fine by me. No way am I telling my friends. They’ll be annoying about it. Like everything else.”
My boyfriend laughed. “I’m sure.”
I settled back down on the bed and looked over at the food. “Hmm. Ya know, I’m not all that hungry yet…”
He smirked. “You aren’t?”
I shook my head.
“Ah, well, do you have any ideas on how you’d like to work up your appetite?”
I stared at Blue. “Nothing I can do with a dog on the bed.”
He pulled me into his arms, naked. “Good thing I have a backup plan. And we can kill two birds with one stone.” He marched me into the bathroom, setting me on my feet before he turned the shower on.
The moment water splashed against the tile, Isaiah had me against the wall. Our mouths fused together as he lifted me up, gripping me by the legs. He moved me to the counter, setting me down. His shirt came off, and the two seconds without him made me miserable. When he came back to me, my tongue explored his while I ripped his boxers off him. He stepped out of them, lifting me up again. My legs went around his waist, pressing my entire body to his. His skin felt amazing on mine. Warm and smooth.
“Hurry,” I ordered him as I gripped his hair.
He held me up by my thighs, and I had to lift myself up to reach his mouth. When he stepped into the shower, hot water hit me and I barely noticed. Isaiah placed me on my feet again, and I took a long look at the man in front of me.
God, he’s pretty.
I ran my hands down his chest until I could grab onto what I had been looking for. I watched his eyes as I stroked him slowly, dragging my thumb over his tip and back down. I went to drop to my knees when he dragged me all the way down.
Isaiah set me on his lap and his hand went to my back, pulling me over to him. My knees got trapped between him and the sides of the tub. Hardly enough room, but we just barely fit. The water soaked us and my hair dripped onto his chest as I leaned over him.
His hands took my hips and pulled me down, pushing inside of me. I gasped at the sudden pleasure and pain. I didn’t even care that I still felt a bit sore from last night.
My hair fell all over him. He lifted me up, slamming me back down again, teaching me what to do. My hands went to his shoulders and I started matching the pace with him.
I loved this, being face to face. My chest pressed to his while my mouth kept moaning and calling out his name, meeting his lips when it could. Isaiah held me, moving his hands around my body when I learned to keep the pace myself.
I took Isaiah’s shoulders in my hands and shoved him to his back so he reclined. I tightened my hands on him, leaning forward, and moving faster than I had before. He groaned, gripping me by the hips again. I felt every inch of him inside of me as I thrashed over him. It made me smile, this feeling of power.
Nails bit into me as Isaiah and I finished. He held my sides until the aftershocks stopped rippling through me. I collapsed onto his chest, panting and assaulted by water.
I breathed and said, “We were supposed to come in here to get clean.”
“Eh…” He shrugged. “…we can do that in a couple minutes.”
I laid on him until I knew my legs could hold me up, then we got down to business. The shower lasted a long time. Mostly because we kept stopping to attack each other with water and my shower loofah.
When we stepped out of the bathroom, Blue looked pissed. He sat outside the door, staring up with betrayal in his eyes. Maybe the fact that we didn’t invite him offended the puppy.
I walked to my dresser wrapped in a towel. Lots of choices today. I dropped my towel to the floor while I decided. I heard Isaiah make a noise as he sat on the bed.
“What to wear…” I tapped on my hip. I pulled a dress out and turned, holding it up. “What do you think of this?”
Isaiah smirked, able to keep eye contact. “I like what you have on.”
“Thank you but I have to put clothes on.”
He shrugged. “I don’t think you do.” He patted the spot beside him. “Humor me.”
I did. I set the dress down and sauntered over to my bed, sitting beside him. It felt a little surreal, being like this with him. I’d wanted to be with him so badly, and it had finally happened. I existed in my own little cloud of bliss. Right in the middle of the horrors around me.
I flipped onto my stomach, holding my pillow while I watched Isaiah smile at me. He laid on his side, running his fingertips along the curves of my back.
Isaiah leaned down and kissed my cheek. “I don’t think I’ll be able to let you out of this bed today.” His hand pushed me onto my back so he could kiss my lips. My heart beat against his and he growled approvingly when my fingers weaved into his hair.
When my phone rang, we both sighed in annoyance. I would have thought my parents had finally called me back, but I knew the ringtone. Bird.
I reached over to my nightstand and picked it up. Isaiah didn’t let that deter him. He started leaving kisses on every available area on me. His lips found a little spot under my jaw and I had the hardest time answering the phone.
“Hello?” I finally said.
Bird sounded sullen on the other end. “Well, I guess you’re finally answering your phone. What the hell were you doing last night?”
I sighed. “I was busy. Some stuff happened.”
“Yeah, like Clark being murdered and found on your lawn. I heard about that from someone other than you. Thanks.”
Isaiah stopped kissing me to glare at the phone like he wanted to break it. I patted his cheek to let him know it didn’t bother me, then I moved on. “I’m sorry. I just didn’t know how to tell you.”
“Like you didn’t know how to tell me that The Ripper’s been stalking you and leaving you presents? An
d how Deputy McSexy is your personal body guard? Tell me you’re screwing him at least.”
“God, no,” I said convincingly, smiling at my boyfriend. “I’d never sleep with a guy as boring as him. Gross.”
Isaiah arched an eyebrow and scooted down the bed before he began to kiss my lower stomach. Bad boy. He didn’t stop when I rolled my eyes.
“Bird,” I said roughly. “I was told by the police to not tell anyone what was going on.” Pretty much a flat out lie. “It might have caused issues. How did you find out?”
“I have a source. And don’t worry…” she griped, “…I’m not gonna tell anyone. Other than Seth… and the girls. And Rosy told Axel. But other than that, you’re good.”
My jaw clenched and I said, “Thanks,” between my teeth.
Isaiah gave me a sympathetic look before kissing me a little lower, helping and harming at the same time.
“You’re welcome,” Bird said, missing my tone. “Anyway, I wanted to make sure you’ll be at the vigil later.”
“You actually planned that?”
“Of course. It’s at six and we’re having it at High Park. Everyone is gonna be there. Food, drinks, candles. You need to come. You can bring that yummy deputy if you have to.”
I smiled down at Isaiah and he kissed me between my legs, making me involuntarily squeak.
“What was that?” Bird asked.
“Um, I… I stepped on a tack. Sorry. Six you say? I can try and be there. Do I need to bring anything?”
“No. Just come.” She hung up without a goodbye.
Isaiah did something utterly wonderful with his tongue before he hopped back up on me. His chest pressed against mine, but he carefully kept most of his weight off me. “Are you okay?”
I sighed. “I guess so. I knew they’d find out eventually. Are you up for a horrible night?”
He got a look on his face. “We can either go to that vigil, or you can let me spend the evening on top of you. Your choice.”
My eyes narrowed. “Damn you and your temptations. You know I have to go.”
“Yeah, and I’ll go with you because I wouldn’t be mean enough to make you go on your own. Also that whole murderer thing…”
