Spell Hell: An Undercover Witch (Witch's Brew Book 1)

As I got closer, I began to hear music wafting on the breeze. I saw people walking toward the building, laughing as they hung all over each other. Was it a club, maybe? Somewhat relieved, I entered the door after a man held it open for me. The bouncer looked me up and down. Whatever he saw must have liked, because he nodded and let me pass into the dark hallway with a light at the end of it.
The music was louder now, and continued to grow in sound the further I went down the hall. I smelled a bunch of different things, unable to identify them individually. Though, I was confident that one of the scents was sex. Did I just walk into a sex club? Nervous, I took a few hesitant steps.
“New here?” a man asked as he came up alongside of me.
I jumped, startled by his sudden presence. “Yeah, first time,” I replied, hoping that was an appropriate response.
He was handsome from what I could tell in the dark hall. His blond hair was disheveled in a modern style. When he smiled, his teeth were bright and pointed. Maybe it was a Vampire club. Even more nervous, I laughed. “Yep, I chose to come here out of nowhere.”
“Well, don’t be scared. You can hang around me until you begin to feel comfortable.” He leaned in, breathing in deeply.
Disturbed by his behavior, I took a step back. “Thanks for the offer, but I think I’ll take a look around myself and go from there.”
Grinning, he nodded, turning to wave to someone near the dance floor. I followed, not sure where to go. There was tables and chairs on one side of the club. The dance floor was large and very crowded with people writhing against each other. Swallowing thickly, I went to the other side the club where there were curtains and what appeared to be rooms. Some of the curtains were see-through. When I adjusted my eyes, I could see naked bodies. They were definitely having sex! Was this a Vampire sex club?
I turned around to leave, but ended up crashing right into someone. When I tried to go around them, the person moved to block me. My first reaction was to snap at them, but then I met the amazing blue eyes of Drake. He smiled, showing fangs. “Well, strange meeting you here.”
Chapter Seven
Laughing nervously, I went to go around him again. “I was told about this place, but didn’t realize what kind of club it was,” I replied, trying to make my escape.
“You don’t want to explore some more?” he asked, following me.
Shaking my head, I quickened my pace. “Not my thing.”
He grabbed my arm, jerking me into his hard body. I shivered involuntarily at his a proximity. “Just take a look around, get a feel of the atmosphere.” He ran his tongue over one of his fangs. My eyes tracked the movement, lips slightly parted.
Slowly, his hand traced up my arm, goose bumps forming in response. I shivered again, my eyes closing slightly. “I don’t think so, Drake.”
“Say my name again. I do adore the sound of it coming from your lips.” His voice took on more of an Irish lilt. It had me turned on, the sound of it doing strange things to my body.
“No.”
“Say it, Sophie.”
“Drake,” I replied automatically.
“Yes, perfect.”
Was I falling under some kind of Vampire spell? This man had me turned on so much that I wanted to crawl my way over to his body. I wanted to take control and slide over him until he filled me completely.
Not even thinking straight, I captured his lips, tracing them with my tongue. He moaned, diving his tongue into my mouth as his hands went down to cup my ass. Realizing I was falling fast, I pulled away, not sure what to do. I just kissed my boss. I just kissed the number one murder suspect in my case. What the fuck was I thinking?
“I can’t do this.” I went to move around him again, but he grabbed my arm.
“Why not?”
“Because...you’re my boss.”
“So?”
“You’ll fire me.”
Drake hesitated, as if thinking. “I won’t.” Then with a quick movement, he was jerking me back into him, claiming my lips in another heated kiss.
Moaning, I weaved my fingers through his hair, clutching it as if holding on for dear life. I rolled my hips into him, feeling his hard length. My knees went weak, unable to handle the wave of need that tore through my body. Lifting me up in his arms, he took me to the back of the club where there was a door. Someone must have opened it for him because he just kept walking. The cloud of desire was starting to dissipate when I realized we were leaving the main club to go somewhere more private.
“Wait, I think this is a bad idea,” I said, my fingers brushing his neck.
Shaking his head, he put me down, running his hands over my ass and to my waist. “No, this is definitely not a mistake, Sophie.” He claimed my lips again, backing up until we crashed into another door. I gasped for air, trying to push away from him, but he grabbed my right breast, running a finger over the nipple. I cried out and then kissed him again, unable to ignore my yearning to ravish him.
Using one hand, he opened the door, backing up as I ran my tongue down his neck and over the vein that pulsed there. He growled, turning so he could throw me onto the bed. My hands went over the soft sheets, as I stared up at him. He was working at his clothes, unbuttoning his shirt until his perfect chest came into view. He had a little hair that covered it, a small trail traveling down his stomach and disappearing under the band of his pants.
“We don’t even know each other,” I told him, scooting away from him.
Chuckling at my new attempt to escape, he unbuttoned his pants and stalked toward me, eyes sparkling with amusement. “We are consenting adults.”
“Yeah, but I work for you.”
“You’ll do more than that.” He crawled onto the bed, grabbing my bare leg as I was just wearing a skirt. Pulling, he brought me closer to him, his hand traveling up to my thigh. I gasped when he got even closer to my middle. “You want me. You’ve been wanting me.”
“That doesn’t mean this should happen.”
“You talk too much.”
“You don’t think enough.”
“What’s there to think about? I know I want you. And you want me. That’s all that matters. I’ve wanted to put my cock so deep inside of you since the moment I saw you at the agency.”
“Is that why you hired me?” I asked, trying to pull away.
Jerking hard, he yanked me to him. “No, I needed an assistant.” His fingers brushed at the hem of my skirt, inching it up.
He moved to hover over me, pressing himself up against my skirt, but there was too much resistance. With quick movement, he had me on my stomach. Slowly, he unzipped me and then slid down the skirt until he could pull it off entirely. “Perfect. Your ass is perfect.”
Good thing I wore my nice underwear and bra. That was a miracle, because I barely had any. What we were doing was wrong on so many levels, but part of me just wanted to enjoy the moment. But could I forgive myself if he was the killer? I rolled over, prepared to give him an excuse, but he was already moving to remove his pants. Deciding I had no choice but to disappear without a warning, I said, “Disappear.” And my magic surrounded me.

Taking steps to my desk, I counted the seconds before Drake fired me. I had disappeared in a heated moment, and he would probably feel rejected. A man as powerful as he didn’t like that feeling, so what better option did he have than to get rid of what made him feel that way?
After disappearing, I ended up bottomless in his car. I rushed out of there like a bat out of hell. There was no way I would delay my escape after leaving him behind the way I did. He probably would have come looking for me, and that couldn’t happen. Now I was at work, preparing for the, ‘We have to talk’ conversation. Gods, what did I do?
Just as I sat down, Drake appeared at his office door. “Come into my office, Ms. Dexter.”
His face was unreadable. Nodding, I stood up to follow him inside. Just as he shut the door, I turned around to apologize for what I did. But I didn’t have a chance
to, because his lips were on mine instantly. “You can’t leave me like that, Sophie. That was so wrong of you.”
I chuckled, unable to help myself as I tried to pull away. “We can’t do this. It’s wrong in so many ways.”
When I managed to get away, I hurried behind his desk to put something between us. He stalked toward me like I was prey, fangs elongated. They were more of a turn on than I would ever admit to anyone. I wanted this man more than I’d ever wanted anyone else. He was an addiction, and I didn’t know if could turn him down. I had to get out of his office before things got dangerous.
“What’s wrong is you refusing me. Now that I know you want me just as much, I don’t think I can leave you alone until I have you. I also don’t think once will be enough. If I will ever get enough.” His nostrils flared. “You are beautiful, and your scent is heavenly. I’ve never met anyone like you.”
“I bet you say that to all the girls.” I laughed, stepping backwards until my back hit the window.
Drake leaped up onto the desk, squatting as his eyes darkened. “Never.”
“Liar.”
“Want to say that to my face?” he growled, amused with our banter.
“Already am.”
“But you’re not close enough.”
He leaped down, pressing his body against mine. Already breathing heavily, we claimed each other’s lips, moving fast to remove our clothes. I tore at his shirt, barely flinching as buttons popped all over the place. He growled, raising my blouse over my head, exposing my bra to him. When he saw that my nipples were hard, aching to be touched, he covered them with his mouth.
I whimpered, sliding down the window, but he held me up to prevent me from going further. My hands traveled up his chest, admiring every smooth curve. He let his head fall back, enjoying my touch. Then he lowered the fabric of my bra to expose my nipple to him. His mouth claimed it, sending waves of need to my core. I wanted him so bad, it was becoming too much not to do anything myself.
Lightly, his fingers traveled down my stomach, over my hip so he could get to the zipper at the back of my skirt. He moved it down, waiting for me to shimmy out of it. I kicked it away, standing half naked it front of him, in only my panties and bra.
“Beautiful,” he murmured, lips going to my neck. I felt his fangs scrape along my skin and I shivered with anticipation.
I grabbed his pants, unbuttoning them and then pushing them down over his hips. He undressed himself, staring, baring all of him in front of me. With experienced hands, he unsnapped my bra, helping me out of it. He grabbed my panties, jerked sharply, and they tore. Letting the scraps fall, he grinned at my surprise. Those were my good panties, too! I quickly forgot about them though when he began to kiss me again, pressing his length against my mound. He lifted me up, my back still against the window. Then, without warning, he dove into me. Pounding so fast, both of us cried out. He slowed down, kissing down my neck.
“You feel amazing. More amazing that I even thought you would.”
I cried out again when he thrusted hard, my nails digging into his back as I took all of him in. I moved, rubbing myself against him when he pounded inwards. We were both panting, moving into each other with such eagerness, I felt my orgasm building with every rub and thrust.
As soon as I felt over the edge, I gasped, feeling a prick in my neck as his fangs sank into me. Another orgasm crashed over me seconds later, growing the more he sucked. He threw his head back, releasing me as his cock pumped inside of my body.
*
We were laying on his couch in the office, naked. His hands went over my stomach, and then down over my thigh. “Your skin is so soft.”
“Lotion helps,” I chuckled.
He kissed my cheek, lashes brushing my skin. “I still want you. Over and over again, Sophie.”
Rolling over to face him, I looked into his eyes. “How does this change our professional relationship?”
“It doesn’t. You still have a job here, but with more duties.” He kissed my lips. “Well, not like that. I’m not paying for—”
I laughed, squeezing his bicep. “I know what you meant.”
He grinned, kissing the tip of my nose. “I think I want you forever.”
Chapter Eight
I glanced up at the tall apartment building and then frowned at the ad in my hand. It was a lot bigger than I’d imagined. I didn’t know how I felt about staying in such a large place. I wanted a house, but they were too expensive.
What the hell was I doing? I shouldn’t be looking for an apartment. I wasn’t staying! I was hear to search for a murderer, and then leave. And I might have slept with him. Several times. “Shit.” I shook my head, disgusted with myself. It was worth it, though. I smiled to myself, thinking of the sweet moments of him deep inside of me.
Sighing, I looked around the area. It was just a few blocks away from Jacobi Enterprises. The city was probably one of the cleanest ones I’ve ever seen. The streets were lined perfectly with small trees and fancy lights. The buildings were all in impeccable shape. The roads were even pothole-free, which was amazing all on its own.
Turning around to head back to the car, I ran into someone. When I looked up to apologize, I was staring at the handsomest man ever, Drake himself. He ran his hands up my arms before glancing up at the apartment building. “Not to your liking?” he asked.
My mouth opened and closed like a fish before I managed to get my wits about me. “Too big. I’d rather find a house.”
“These are very nice apartments, but I can see the appeal of a house.” He took my hand into his and led me toward the car. “I have a friend who is renting out his home. Let’s swing by there,” he suggested, opening my door for me.
“Us? Me and you? I would rather do this alone,” I said, pushing my hair behind my ears.
A little hurt, Drake’s expression soured. “Why don’t you want me to come with you?”
“Well, you are my boss...” I trailed off, looking away.
Drake chuckled, turning my head toward him so I was looking at his face. “We’ve gone beyond that by now, don’t you think?”
“You mean the sex and the wanting to keep me forever?” I asked with a grin.
Don’t joke around with him. End it! You must end it! My brain was screaming at me, but I ignored it and lifted my face to his to kiss him.
At first it was soft and just a few little pecks, but then he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into him. His tongue dove into my mouth with urgency, as if he couldn’t get enough. I felt his fangs scrape against my lower lip, which had me moan in response because I wanted to feel them sink into my neck. Maybe even in a few other places that would make me aching for him even more.
Pulling away from him I sighed, pleasure rippling through my entire body in ways I had never felt before him. “You’re going to be the death of me.” I heard a few cars honking, and then some guys in their twenties whistled as they hung out the windows. Apparently, they got a nice show.
“Let me take you to his house. I will drive there in my car, and Arnie can follow behind.”
“Arnie?”
“My driver.”
“Oh.” Thinking about it, I bit my bottom lip. I was just going deeper and deeper into the problem. What I should have been doing was giving him the car back and renting one of my own, even though it would come out of my paycheck. The fewer ways I was dependent on him, the better. I took care of myself, and what I was doing here definitely wasn’t that. “I guess so,” I finally replied.
Rolling his eyes, he dragged me over to the passenger side. “Don’t sound so enthusiastic. I just might think you like me.”
I chuckled. “Sorry. I just feel like we’ve crossed some line.”
Shaking his head, he waited for me to get into the car. Then he closed the door, jogging to the driver’s side so he could get in. It was seconds later that we were on the road, heading out of the city. As we drove, I stared out the passenger window, watching the people walk down the sidewalk.
Seeing someone familiar, I stared, locking eyes with him. What the hell was Kevin doing in Riverdale? He smiled, staring until I couldn’t see him anymore. Fear coursed through me. The guy made me nervous, and him appearing in Riverdale made it even worse. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but as soon as I was alone, I would be putting a phone call in to my friends.
“What’s wrong?” Drake asked, glancing over.
“Nothing, why?” I turned away, hoping he couldn’t read my face.
“I can smell the fear coming off you. Is there something you have to tell me?” he asked.
My heart started pounding. That was a loaded question. Was this the part where I rolled out of the car and took off running? I could do a disappearing spell. Deciding that was the best course of action, I stared out the windshield.
Drake’s hand came down on my leg, startling me. “Don’t even think about disappearing. I can see it written all over your face.”
“Can not.”
“Sophie, your face is easy to read. I’m sorry, but you can’t keep secrets from me.” He chuckled.
If he only knew. “I just thought I saw someone I knew. Someone that I have a bad history with,” I lied smoothly. “And no, I don’t want to talk about it.”
Sighing, Drake nodded, running his hand up higher on my thigh. I shifted, feeling myself getting turned on the closer he got to my sweet spot. “Always have sex on your mind, Drake?”
“I always have you on my mind,” he replied way too easily.
“That was slick.”
“I thought so.”
He slowed down to turn onto a side street that led into a neighborhood filled with older homes. They all looked newly remodeled, with beautiful lawns. It was a really great neighborhood. I was even more impressed with the house he parked in front of. It was a small home that had white siding and light blue shutters. The lawn was freshly mowed, with flowers surrounding the front of it. There was a car parked in the driveway and someone coming out of the house, locking it up.
