I roll the words over and over in my head. I try to find a way to talk myself out of it. I try to tell myself that this has to be a bad idea. I tell myself that someone could catch us, even though he locked the door. I tell myself that it’s wrong. That I need to heal after the break up. But all I can think about it just how good his lips feel on mine, how good he smells, and how beautiful his eyes are. Instead of being the good girl, for the first time in my life I do the craziest thing I’ve ever done before in my life and I nod. “I’m sure.”

He smiles and squeezes onto my hip as he guides himself inside of me. He glides in with ease but nothing can control the loud moan that escapes my mouth. I tilt my head back and I feel my eyes beginning to roll into the back of my head. Remy releases a groan of his own as he takes a moment to pause when he’s fully seated. “Christ…Ember…”

I can barely speak as I take repeated, quick breaths. My legs tremble as a burning sensation begins to build up in the pit of my stomach. I can’t stand it anymore. I push my hips towards him and I feel my walls clench around him. He lets out another groan and this time doesn’t waste a split second. He works his hips back and forth in a steady pace that makes me scream.

I bite down hard on my bottom lip telling myself to shut up before someone hears but I can’t refrain. I wrap my legs around his waist as he buries his hardness inside of me. I find myself mindlessly repeating his name as I begin topping from the bottom, telling him just how I want it, exactly how I need it, and just how fucking bad I want him.

Remy begins encouraging me as he grabs onto both of my wrists and pinning them against the mirror just above my head. I arch my back and let out another load moan as he pushes himself into me harder. My shaking legs can hardly take another minute and I feel myself release my legs from around him.

Remy is quick and releases my wrists, letting one of his hands grab onto my hip to hold me in place as the other yanks down my top and part of my bra exposing my breasts. He leans down latching his mouth onto my nipple, sucking and biting as he pushes me closer to the edge of my own orgasm.

He pushes into me harder, his teeth pinching around my nipple as I reach around and grab a handful of his hair. I whimper, begging him not to stop as I feel his tongue flicker over my hard nipple. I look down at him as he practically buries his face happily between my breasts. I let out another moan as he gives my right nipple another pinch. I feel myself right on the edge, there’s no holding back as I release another powerful squeal.

My legs shake violently as I release another hard orgasm. I whimper as I clutch onto Remy who lets me ride it out, even moving a finger to push on my aching clit to help it intensify. I’m reduced to a puddle of goo as Remy looks up at me, smiles, and grabs onto my hips. He begins pounding in and out of me. I let out another scream that surely anyone can hear over the music as Remy yanks himself out of me, grabbing his cock and groaning.

“Oh…fucking…Jesus…” He leans forward and rests his forehead on mine as he lets his breathing return to normal.

I look down at him wanting nothing more to drag him to bed and sleep until tomorrow afternoon. He gives me a spent little smile as he presses his lips to mine again.

So that’s that. A one-time fling in the men’s bathroom of a night club in New York City. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little sad. I know this is more than likely the last time I’ll see him and that nothing more will come of this. Makes me wonder how people make a habit of this. I let out a little sigh as Remy pulls away. Is it bad that I have no idea what to do now? I have no idea where he’ll go or what he’ll do and no clue where I’ll go or what I’ll do. Remy takes a moment to compose himself before removing the condom and tossing it in the trash.

“Do you need a minute?” He asks, giving me a little smirk.

I give him a little nod as I hop from the counter and make my way over to the only stall in the bathroom. Remy goes silent but I use the running water as an excuse to seize the moment to pee unnoticed. When I finish Remy is buttoning and zipping his pants. He flashes me a smile as I quietly wash my hands.

For once in my life I really don’t know what to say. I don’t know how to act. I’ve never been in this kind of situation before. Hell, I’ve been with the same damn man for four years. I’d grown so accustomed to peeing with the door wide open that barely being able to pee with running water is a shock. I reach for a few paper towels to dry my hands and Remy smiles.

“Well, that definitely wasn’t on my to do,” he laughs.

Heat rushes to my cheeks. No wonder people run out in the middle of the night after a one-night stand.

“So, I was thinking,” he says softly as I toss my paper towels in the trash, “that maybe you and me could get out of here. We could get a bite to eat, walk around the city a bit, then I could take you to your hotel and we can exchange numbers.”

I feel my face become much warmer. Where the hell did that come from? Is he really asking me on…a date?

He lets out a little laugh and I can see that his own cheeks are beginning to turn a little pink. Alright, I give him one thing…he’s cute when he blushes.

“I know that normally the getting to know each other part comes before this…but I have a tendency to do things ass backwards anyway,” he laughs again as he brings a hand up the rub the back of his neck. “What do you say? Will you ditch the club and have a late dinner with me?”

“I won’t lie,” I begin, “I kind of thought that you would be a one-night stand and to be honest, I prepared myself for that.” I look down at my feet and let out a breath. “But for some reason, I don’t want to just leave you.”

“Does that mean you’re having something to eat with me?” He questions, flashing me that perfect smile.

I give him a nod. “That means I’m having dinner with you.”

He reaches for my hand as we walk to the bathroom door. He unclicks the dead bolt and cracks the door just enough to peek into the club. He turns and gives me a nod as we both slip from the bathroom unnoticed. I breathe a sigh of relief as no one has noticed our little tryst in the bathroom.

I grab onto Remy’s shoulder for a moment, leaning up to his ear, and ask him to help me find Lucy and Cindy. He gives me a nod and begins looking for them with me. If I’m leaving with him, I at least have to let the two of them know where I am. I can just picture it in my head, though, when we do find them and we tell them that I am leaving with Zorro. The “I told you so’s” will never ever end.

Remy is quick to find them still with his friends, the Lone Ranger and Tonto. Remy never lets on about what we were just doing. He just says that we need some air and are hungry. He tells them he’s taking me to dinner and Lucy and Cindy don’t complain when he offers them his phone number so they don’t worry.

He’s polite and tells them he’ll get me back to the hotel safe and sound and that they have his word. The Lone Ranger and Tonto reassure Lucy and Cindy too, telling them that Remy is an upstanding guy and that I will be safe. They take Remy’s number just in case and offer me a hug before Remy and I head for the door.

Dinner and a walk around the city. What could possibly go wrong?

  11 p.m

Remy treats me the best slice of pizza that I have ever had before in my life. We actually didn’t mean to find the pizzeria. We just sort of stumbled on it while walking around. Since neither of us know the city we just wandered aimlessly until we saw a place that looked like a sold food. The big neon sign of a piece of pizza in the window was a safe bet, and a really good one at that.

“Were you planning on ditching me back at the club?” He asks, having a gulp of pop.

I let out a little laugh and shrug. “I didn’t know what I was going to do or how I was going to do it. Things just sort of happened and here we are.”

“Things happened alright,” he laughs. “You don’t regret it, do you?”

I immediately shake my head. “No regrets here. Do you regret it?”

He shakes his head. “I was worri
ed that I would, but no. I just couldn’t help but wonder if you regretted it.”

“So, Zorro, tell me your story,” I say, changing the subject from our romp in the men’s bathroom, “you just got out of a relationship, too?”

He gives me a silent nod and has another bite of pizza and I feel my cheeks blaze with heat. “Sorry, I’m being nosy,” I tell him. “To be honest with you, I’m really bad at this. I’ve been with the same man for four years until now. I really have no idea how to date and right now I’m probably the worst date in the world.” I give my head a shake feeling quite defeated.

He releases a little chuckle. “Right now I would say you’re the best date in the world. We both need to relax a little. Dating or being on a date isn’t anywhere as bad as we’re making it, right? We just need to take some deep breaths. We shouldn’t let our shitty exes ruin tonight.”

I give him a smile, he does have a very good point. Why should I let Jonah ruin this for me? From what I can tell, Remy is actually a really nice guy. While I’m laying things out on the table, he’s pretty damn good in the sack too. “So…high school English?” I take a moment to look him up and down. Pretty sure he’s every high school girl’s dream come true.

He nods, “Mister Harrison, the English teacher at your service.”

I giggle, he really is adorable. “Why English?”

“Because I love books, I love words. That must sounds kind of stupid to you, though.”

I shake my head, “No, it actually sounds beautiful. Makes my job seem…kind of dull.”

“Now I refuse to believe that. You run your own business. You must love it to have been doing it this long.” He smiles, having another swig of pop.

“I do. I’ve always loved doing hair. You know, I was that kid that drove her parents nuts. I was that kid who cut her Barbie hair. I was also the kid who at about four years old learned the hard way that Barbie hair does not grow back, no matter how hard you try to make it.”

He laughs and leans back in his chair. “I bet you were just a ball of fun.”

“Oh yes…tons. My mother thought so too, I’m sure,” I laugh. “Needless to say I didn’t get many dolls and the ones that I did get had to stay nice and neat in their boxes.”

“I bet that just sucked the fun right out of your childhood,” he winks.

“You better believe it did,” I giggle. “After my short stint of cutting Barbie hair I moved on to bigger and better things.”

  “Oh yeah? Like what?”

“Like the family dog, the family cat…my dad…” I let my voice trail as I laugh softly.

He laughs and shakes his head, “I bet that went just great, didn’t it?”

“Naturally, all hell broke loose,” I tell him laughing. “My dad was less than thrilled.”

“Wait…the cat actually let you cut its hair?”

“I never said it let me,” I say, “I may have held him in his place.”

He lets out a deep laugh, “You were just mean.”

“At least I didn’t bathe him,” I chuckle.

“Very good point,” he smiles, “so if I come into your salon, can I be your client?”

“I wouldn’t mind that at all,” I blush, “so I’m guessing that we’ll really get to see each other after this.”

He gives me a nod. “As long as you want to, and I’m really hoping you do.”

“Guess we really suck at this one night stand thing,” I laugh, having a drink of a pop.

He gives me a little shrug and a nod. “We could be a lot worse, you could have ditched me after the bathroom.”

“You could have ditched me after the bathroom,” I laugh. “So, what do you propose we do next?”

“Run to Vegas, elope, and then off to Fiji.” He says with a deadpan face.

My eyes grow wide. “I meant…not like a marriage proposal…as in what do we do after this…”

His lips turn up at the corners and he begins laughing. “I’m kidding, Ember. Relax.” He glances around the pizza shop. We’ve been the only ones in here, other than the two lonely staff members, since we got here. It’s been quiet and nice getting to know each other.

I let out a little sigh of relief. “Well, we could always go back out.” I glance at the wall, “it’s going on midnight so it’s still considered early for the clubs or we could just wander around town.”

“If we could get back to the clubs,” he laughs. “I feel fucking lost in this city.”

I nod in agreement. “I suck with directions so I probably couldn’t get us back to the club we were just at.” I think about Cindy and Lucy, wondering how they’re doing. When Remy and I left the club they were with his friends, the Lone Ranger and Tonto. “Speaking of the club, I should call Cindy and Lucy to see how they’re doing, but first I have to know, what’s the story with the Lone Ranger and Tonto?”

“They’ve been my friends since college, they’ve been close since they were in their early teens, though,” he explains.

“At first I thought they either had quite the bromance going on or...” My voice trails and I look up and off to the right as I feel my cheeks become warm.

“That they were gay?” Remy finishes.

I let out a sigh and nod. “I won’t lie, yeah, I thought they could be gay. Don’t get me wrong, the costumes were amazing, but I was just curious.”

He laughs and gives his head a shake. “Don’t worry, they make people wonder every single day but they’re good guys. Your friends are safe with them.”

“Well, if my friends stayed with them, which I really hope they did. I would feel better about it anyway.”

“Did you have that “don’t split up” policy?”

I give my head a shake. “No, but I do have a taser in my -” I stop immediately and look down at the table. My clutch. It’s not on the table. It’s not in my lap. It’s not in the floor. Fuck. I don’t remember grabbing it after we…

  “What’s wrong?”

“My purse…I think I left it in the last club. It has everything in it. My cash, my phone, everything.”

“Your condoms,” he smiles, giving me a wink.

  I blush. “Those too.”

“Well, I bet it’s still at the club, so let’s finish up and see if we can get back there,” he tells me finishing the last of his pizza.

“Shit…Remy, can you remember the club name?”

He stares at me with a blank look on his face. He looks about as clueless as I feel right now. I can remember how it looked on the outside and that’s about it. I don’t remember any special signs or anything distinguishing. Cindy, Lucy, and I had gotten in line based on how long the line was. We decided that if there was a line that long on the outside that the club must be worth going into.

“Okay,” he reaches across the little table and gives my shoulder a gentle squeeze, “don’t panic. We can get back. I will get us a cab and we can tell him what we remember about it. Someone who knows New York City is just the ticket. I bet a cab driver can have us back there in ten minutes.”

I let out a sigh and give him a little nod. “My purse has everything, though.”

“It will be alright. I promise. I promised that I would take care of you and get you back to your hotel. I’ll keep that promise but first I’ll get you back to your purse. Like you said, you must have left it in the bathroom after we had our fun,” he winks. “The good part about that is, we were in a men’s room. Men don’t pay attention to the counter ninety-nine percent of the time. Even if they did see it they probably wouldn’t know what it was or even how to open it.”

I let out a little laugh and nod. He’s probably right. My purse is a tiny, red box clutch. Just big enough for credit cards, ID’s, cash, the taser, the hotel card key, and condoms. “How will I get back in the club without an ID?”

“We can just tell the bouncer what happened,” he smiles.

My eyes narrow in on him. “You want to tell the bouncer that we snuck off to the men’s room, had sex, and I left my p
urse in on the counter?”

He laughs, “I never said give him every single detail, we can just tell him that you left your purse, that you need in so you can get it, and then you can come right back out and show him your ID if you need to.”

“Alright, sounds like we have a plan,” I say.

He nods as he finishes his pop and wipes his hands with a napkin. “When you finish we can go.”

I give him a nod, finish the last bite of my pizza and pop. We’ll just find a cab, describe the club, talk to the bouncer in to letting us in, get my purse, and we’re golden. Honestly, it sounds easy. What could go wrong?

  Midnight

When we said that we would just get a cab and go back to the club we had no idea just how difficult getting a cab would be. All the ones that we have ran into are either full or not in service. We’ve been walking for blocks and to be honest with you, we’re not even sure if we’re walking in the right direction. It’s both creepy and odd that everything looks the same right now. At least to me. Remy seems just as clueless as we pause at a crosswalk and try to decide if we should keep going straight, turn left, or turn right. We have no real idea where either direction will take us, and even though his phone has GPS we have no address or club name to enter in.

I let out a little sigh. “The only club name I can think of right now is Midnight’s but that was the club we were going to.”

He looks over at me and smiles, “we were planning on going there later too.”

“Maybe that club was near Midnight’s?” I question, rubbing at my cold arms.

“Hey, you’re freezing,” he tells me as he starts taking off his cape.

I shake my head. “No, really, I’m fine.”

He shakes his head, “Don’t be crazy. I’m not letting you stand out here and freeze.” He drapes the cape around my shoulders and gives them a rub for me. “Sorry I don’t have a coat.”
