YGGRIM. A warrior of Nemedis, one of the heroes who fell at the great Battle of Grimstrand Firth, as told in Diombar’s Song.
ZAD KOMIS. A noble who had served in a high position in the legions of Patanga during the Sarkdom of Sumia’s father, Orvath Chond, but was exiled when Vaspas Ptol seized power in Year of the Kingdoms of Man 7007. When Thongor set Patanga free of the grasp of the Fire Druids, Zad Komis returned and became daotar of the Black Dragons, Thongor’s crack regiment of Veterans.
ZAFFAR. A wizard of ancient times who built the great palace which later became the Temple of the Fire God in Patanga, and, still later, was reconsecrated by Eodrym as Temple of the Nineteen Gods. More of an alchemist than a sorcerer, Zaffar experimented with the power of the mysterious Flame that has burned from the beginning of time in the unknown crypts below the Temple. It was Zaffar who constructed the secret stair by which Thongor descends to the Cavern of the Flame in the first chapter of TCM.
ZANDARLA THE FAIR. A Queen of ancient Patanga, famed for her dazzling beauty, who ruled the City of Fire thousands of years before the age of Thongor.
ZANDAR ZAN. The Black Thief of Tsargol, commissioned by the Four Conspirators in TAG to steal away Princess Sumia and the infant prince, as a means of luring Thongor into their power. The Thief of Tsargol’s plans went awry and he met his death at the hands of Thongor as described in the concluding chapters of TAG.
ZARTHON THE TERRIBLE. The great war chief of the Zodak Horde and master of immemorial Yb the City of the Worm. Jomdath slew him when the Jegga Horde overran and conquered the Zodaki warriors and their ruined city.
