Just Stay With Me

He would realize that she knew his secret and come running after her. She needed to be alone for now. Jules would offer a shoulder for her to cry on but she wanted more than that.

Solitude beckoned to her and she would take it. She pulled on a jacket and took the truck keys from a hook in the kitchen. She let herself out the back door and walked around the house to the front in order to avoid Haley who she had heard come into the house and was most probably in the living room.

She opened the truck door and climbed in. She hadn’t driven in a while, so it felt really strange for her to insert the key in its ignition and start the vehicle. Seth had driven her everywhere and she had allowed him to.

  “Fool!” she cursed herself.

She saw Malcolm and Seth in the distance. Seth raised his hand to her but she ignored him and drove toward the gates with speed. From the rearview mirror, she saw him running towards the vehicle, but then she increased the speed and drove out of the ranch after the gateman opened the gates.

Not caring where she was going because all she knew was that she needed to think, she drove for a while before she decided to head to her apartment to get her passport.

She would go on the holiday she had always desired in France. She would call Jules to join her. Her friend would be happy to.

It wasn’t until she reached her apartment that she realized she hadn’t taken the keys. She grimaced as she stepped down from the truck. She would rather die than go back to the ranch.

She would have to find a way to call Jules to get the keys to her. Even if it meant her sneaking out of the ranch. Someway, she had to get her key.

It was already dark now. Maybe she should go to Aunt Karen’s place. But that would be the first place

Seth would go and look for her. She would prefer being inside her apartment when he came so that she wouldn’t have to open the door to his lying face. Aunt Karen wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation of opening her door to curse him out.

Sandy climbed out of the truck to go and knock on her neighbor’s door, when suddenly a hand snaked out from the darkness and clamped around her mouth, throwing her into a hard body.

“Gotcha! I knew if I was patient enough, you would come out of hiding.”

  Her eyes widened.
