Friends and Memories

George had been on the dance floor as well but broke off from the fun to join Francis, a beer in his hand. “I’m getting too old to keep up with them,” he puffed and sat down heavily. “I think I’ll sit out the next song or three.”

Francis just nodded and smiled, the volume of the music made it hard to have a conversation so they sat together in companionable silence.

This was the first time Francis had been to the pub since he was shot, and today he’d been back at work for the first time as well, albeit only a half shift with George; he wouldn't be strong enough to do full shifts on his own for a while but he was getting there. He was glad to get back, he’d been concerned about having flashbacks or panic attack but instead, despite his lack of memory, it had been like settling back into a groove and George’s reassuring presence had been key.

Edward was larking around to a different beat now, he was wiggling his bum a lot, mostly in Francis’s direction and he gave a sweet smile over his shoulder.

George leaned over to Francis, “Your one thinks the world of you, you know that?”

“I know,” Francis said, “but where did those pants come from? He left the house in jeans and a t-shirt.”

“Who knows. With Edward it’s just one surprise after another.”

The song finished and almost as if he’d heard them Edward came running over at full speed and jumped onto Francis’s lap, flinging his arms around his boyfriend and planting a big kiss on his mouth. Francis was too surprised to do anything other than kiss back, he wrapped his arms around Edward’s hot, bare back to steady him and soon found he had an erection. He felt himself blush and held Edward in place to hide it but a fidgety Edward was making things worse down there.

“Hey,” Edward rubbed his inner thigh against it, “is it time for us to go home already?”

  “Not if you’re having fun.”

Edward leaned in and nibbled his neck, then said against his ear, “Seems like I could be having even more fun at home.”

Francis said into Edward’s ear, “I’m so lucky, I just want you to know that. You are an amazing, crazy, spontaneous, loving person and you’re everything to me.”

Edward squirmed a bit and blushed, then said, “You missed out horny,” and jumped off Francis’s lap, pulling him to his feet. “I’ve gotta go guys,” he shouted to his friends on the dance floor, “I’ve pulled.” They waved to him but were absorbed in their dancing.

“Are you OK on your own?” Francis asked George.

“Hmm, what?” George was staring at a well-built blond man over by the bar. “You two go,” he downed the remainder of his beer in one go, “I need another drink.” The blond haired man was looking at George now, George ran his fingers through his hair and sauntered over to him, a smile on his face.

Edward giggled after him and Francis had to smile, wishing George luck. Edward found his clothes against one of the walls, he put them on and he and Francis left hand in hand.
