Ania moaned and gripped his arms as she lifted her hips to better take him inside, holding on as Synar relentlessly pressed forward.
“Liam—it has never been like this for me,” she said honestly, feeling him start to swell to fill her.
Always before, the expansion of his sex organ caused a mild panic in her, a panic that she remembered clearly, because once started—it could not easily be undone.
Tonight it was different. Tonight his possession of her was desired and was not even all she wanted.
“Mark me with your energy,” she choked out. “Do not think of the past. Just do as I ask.”
Synar was beyond thinking of anything other than how well he fit her, how of all the females he’d known only Ania Looren had closed around him in a way that made him feel complete.
“Unlike a Siren, Norblades cannot control the pleasure waves they create. It may be painful or too much for you,” Synar said, twisting inside her to test their fit. “I need to set a pace that allows me to remain in control.”
Synar found he could barely move within her now and he’d never been happier.
“Liam—please,” she implored. “I accept the risk of being overwhelmed. I need more.”
“Better call up your warrior’s energy to protect yourself if you want me to unleash mine,” Synar warned, pressing into her farther as she called out in discomfort at his complete possession. He chastised himself for enjoying her alarmed response. “Do it quickly, Ania. I feel the first vibration coming.”
Ania chanted until her energy setting moved higher and power zipped along her nerve endings. Even as unbearably full of Synar as she felt, still she lifted her hips and increased the pressure of him pressing deeper until there was absolutely no room left inside her at all.
“Now as my mate, I demand you give me pleasure in exchange for possession,” she said tightly, hearing his quick in-drawn breath of surprise at the demand mated females of his planet routinely made.
“You have never demanded anything from me during bonding,” Synar said in surprise, lifting his head. In fact, her requests had usually been to stop or lessen his bonding possession.
“Well I am demanding tonight,” Ania said, her body slick with excitement, dizzy with want. “Pleasure me, Liam Synar. It is my right.”
Ania knew Synar could stay inside her for hours with or without achieving release. For all the months they were together on his ship before, she never understood what Synar got out of his connection to her when she had not been able to handle the pleasure waves.
But then, Ania had never thought to ask if her lack of response was okay because Synar had never ceased asking her for bonding. She had thought only of how to minimize her time with him, reducing their bonding experiences only to what she could handle emotionally and mentally. What was happening now was like a first time because Ania realized that she had never truly desired him until tonight.
Perhaps it was Malachi, or perhaps it was carrying Gwen and Dorian’s desire for each other—whatever the case, Ania didn’t care. She would question the demon tomorrow and find out for sure.
Tonight she just wanted Liam to meet her needs.
“I have one more question before I meet your demands. Do you admit you are my mate?” Synar asked, lifting Ania’s hips when he moved even fractionally.
They were locked together in the mating ritual of the Norblades. His possession of her soothed everything in him. Ania had been the only female he’d ever found this with and the only one he wanted to share his energy. It was like getting his life back to be in her again.
“I agree that I am acting as your mate tonight,” Ania agreed cautiously.
His sex organ fit tightly insight her, swollen specifically to fill her completely. She was his captive for the duration of their bonding, a condition Ania had admittedly not tolerated well in the past. She had never liked feeling powerless and doing so when he was filling her so completely was one of the things she had hated most about their bonding sessions before.
Tonight it seemed necessary to experience Liam’s complete possession, including the waves that she had always fought receiving from him.
Ania would have panicked about the need in her being so great, but she knew Synar was obligated to meet it. She could also tell how much he wanted to meet her demands. So why then was he holding back?
“Are you going to meet my demands or torture me all night?” Ania asked.
“Aye—I will meet your demands. You know I am obligated to do as you ask,” Synar said tightly, trying not to show his excitement over the task.
He was fighting to remain stoic, but inside he was overjoyed to have a chance to energetically mark the female he filled. Tomorrow everyone on the Liberator would know she was his.
“You know how this works though we did not share it willingly before. Do not prevent your screams if it is too much. Females often beg their mates to stop. It would take a warrior to bear the pleasure that causes pain. Calling out will keep me from losing control,” Synar said, his body humming as it built the frequency on which his vibrations travelled.
“Stop trying to worry me further,” Ania said roughly, shocked when she felt the first pleasure vibration inside her growing from where he filled her and spreading everywhere else. The wave brought enormous relief. She called out, following the sounds of release with his name.
“Liam. I had forgotten how that feels. Blessed relief, I need more.”
“You will have more. It was the first one and only the beginning,” Synar whispered, saying the words in his own language as he felt vibrations traveling through both of them again. “Ania—you are the reason I live.”
“No more talking. Send me pleasure again,” Ania demanded, feeling the male who filled her quiver in response on top of her.
Synar focused on the throbbing energy in his pelvic center, channeling it into his sex organ and into Ania in the process. Feeling her pulsing with climax triggered an answering climax in him. He heard Ania sighing raggedly with release and tried to ease his hold, but his body pressed forward instead.
“Are you okay?” Synar asked roughly when he could speak again. Giving in to his urges, he pressed deeply, riding out the remnant of the last wave against her surrendered body.
“More,” Ania rasped. “I want you—I want you to find total release in me.”
“It is not wise to do so much so soon. It has been a long time for both of us,” Synar choked out, reveling in the feel of her fingers gripping him to hold him in place.
“I am not yet satisfied,” Ania said. “Will you kiss me as humans do? I wish to experience it while I am connected to you.”
“You hated kissing before—you said it was too invasive,” Synar warned, running his lips over her shoulder and along the side of her neck. “I was the one who always said it was no more intimate than all else we were doing. Why do you want it now?”
“Do you not wish to share the experience with me again? You kissed me in the training room,” Ania accused, trying to get him to just kiss her and stop analyzing her request.
“Aye—I still like kissing. I stopped asking when we were together because I knew you did not,” Synar said, lifting his head and moving his mouth to the other side of her body. “The kissing urge is probably from Gwen. Will you regret kissing me tomorrow?”
“I don’t know. I just know I want it now. Should I demand it as a mate?” she asked.
“There is no need to demand anything. You are my mate and I will do anything you ask. I want to please you,” Synar promised, lifting his head from her shoulder and putting his lips gently on hers. He laughed when she kept her eyes open. “Close your eyes. It makes it better—or so I have heard.”
Ania did as he asked and felt Synar use his tongue to stroke her bottom lip. Another kind of pleasure rocked her body. When she gasped, Synar’s tongue penetrated her mouth to absorb the sound she would have made calling out. His tongue created a rhythm that his hips matched rocking gently against hers. Sti
ll tightly joined, it was a pleasurable exercise to move together in such a tight rhythm.
Ania brought both hands to Synar’s face to stop him for a moment.
“May I try initiating?” she asked, when her mouth was free.
Synar rolled them until he was under her, but had to wrap trembling arms around her when another particularly strong pleasure wave washed over them both again. He hadn’t felt that one coming, nor had he known how intense it would be.
When they settled again, Synar was still breathing hard. Ania was lying still and groaning on top of him.
“Too much? Should I stop now?” Synar asked, one hand locking into her blonde strands while the other circled her waist to prevent her escape. He would stop, but he hoped she wouldn’t ask that he leave her body yet. He didn’t think he could.
Some measure of time passed, but Synar didn’t have enough mental capacity to track it. Eventually, Ania raised her head to lock onto his gaze.
“I don’t know if this is Gwen or Malachi or—just us. I find it disconcerting and confusing to want you this much, but I don’t want you to stop,” Ania admitted.
“Aye—it is disconcerting and exciting,” Synar agreed. “Are you beginning to regret now?”
Ania shook her head, causing him to ease his grip on her. “No—I feel no regret. I feel only the need for more.”
Synar felt her spread her legs farther until her knees straddled his hips. He pressed upwards, hoping he wasn’t hurting her, consoling himself with the idea that the demon would heal her if they got too carried away.
“I find myself wanting to do something, but afraid I might harm you,” Ania said.
Synar laughed at the idea of Ania harming him in any way. She might have the training to torture and kill him, but she had the sensibilities of someone who served the creators of all. His mate was the most compassionate creature he had ever met.
“You have my permission to try what you wish so long as you do not separate our bodies too quickly,” Synar joked. “The physical pain would be terrible for both of us, but especially for me.”
Ania whispered an ancient phrase just before eagerly covering his mouth with hers. Her tongue stroked in deeply as his had earlier and Synar trembled under her in response.
Each time she could find breath, Ania whispered more of the chant. She felt the pressure of a resonating force building inside her, felt Synar throbbing at her core in unconscious reply.
Ania magnified Synar’s growing vibrations, hoping it wouldn’t kill them both when she returned them to him, but at the same time not caring for the cost. She needed to feel satisfied, to quell the emptiness that had been a part of her life so long.
“Liam, know I am grateful for tonight—whatever happens tomorrow,” Ania said sincerely, lifting her head and arching her back.
“Grateful for what?” Synar asked with a groan as he felt a pleasure wave of great magnitude move through him, finding its way into her.
Then he heard Ania whispering strange words in a tongue incomprehensible to his ears. Moments later pleasure blasted through him like a stun beam causing him to scream out as he hit pinnacle. How long it lasted Synar wasn’t completely sure, but when it eased away he noticed Ania was draped loosely over him, barely conscious.
His whole body still throbbed in release.
“Ania,” he called, shaking her gently.
“Stop shaking me, Liam. I still live,” she mumbled against his chest, eliciting a weary laugh from him.
“For a moment, I thought you might have killed us both,” Synar said.
“You released,” Ania said tiredly.
“Yes—I am aware,” Synar told her dryly, grinning in the semi-dark room that she had noticed. He rested inside her still but they were not locked tightly anymore.
“I am satisfied at last. The urge is quiet in me,” Ania said, starting to slide away only to find herself stopped by Synar’s grip.
“Stay with me tonight,” he said. “I need you near. Ania—no female has ever pleasured me as well as you just did.”
“I accept your gratitude, but I cannot stay,” Ania said regretfully, sliding to the side of him, trapped now between his body and the wall of the room. “Sleep is torturous for me and I would just disturb you. The demon rests, but I cannot.”
“Ania—” Synar began, only to be stopped by her slapping a tired hand over his mouth to prevent his words.
“No more apologies. Do not dwell on what cannot be changed. Be grateful for this moment and its peace,” she said, letting her hand wearily drop. “You exhausted me as well. I will stay until you sleep.”
He watched her face as she settled beside him, closing her eyes and pressing closer.
“I suppose exhausting you is high praise for the mate of a Khalsa warrior,” Synar joked, but no one heard him but the walls. Ania had fallen into an exhausted sleep.
Chanting prayers he hadn’t prayed in a couple of years, Synar tucked his now blissfully tired body around Ania’s and slept.
Yet when the computer woke him the next morning, only the soiled bed sheets and his relaxed body bore witness to Ania having even been there. She had given him her body again, but not her loyalty.
Sadness and regret were crushing weights on his shoulders as he dressed.
Chapter 7
Taking Zade’s shift had been torturous. When the sedative she’d begged from medical hadn’t worked to knock her out, Gwen dressed in exercise clothes and headed to the training room, hoping someone there would try to beat the bad mood out of her with a fight. She thought of rousting Jurek, but dismissed it as selfish to wake the older male. It was early morning and most of the crew were either still asleep or just beginning their day.
Yet the sweaty blonde she found hard at work on the mat was the last crew member Gwen would have expected to be in the training room so early. Ania stood in the middle, twirling a fighting stick with lethal precision. Gwen watched for long moments in awe before she could bring herself to break Ania’s concentration with a greeting.
“I don’t suppose you’d want to kick my ass again today, would you?” Gwen asked humbly, liking the way Ania laughed at her question.
“Feeling a bit disgruntled this morning?” Ania asked, smiling in sympathy and settling the stick at her side.
“I ingested enough sedatives to stop a Klageldon mastiff and still all I can think about is jumping Zade for sex at first opportunity,” she said bitterly. “Are you sure killing him won’t make this stop?”
Ania laughed again. She actually admired the commander’s determination to fight the Siren’s call. Not many females could have lasted even a few minutes with such a promise of fulfillment so steadily beckoning.
Thinking of the agony Dorian was probably in, only increased Ania’s smile.
“No—nothing will stop the process. What you are experiencing can only be cured temporarily by bonding with Dorian. I hate to tell you even more bad news but the exchange of fluids is needed for even that to work—unprotected sex, as the Earth vids say. For a more permanent way to resist the mating urges, you will need to ingest food and other organics from Rylen to build some immunity to his allure. In the meantime, you should just go to Dorian and let him ease this for you,” Ania said softly. “To make him suffer, close your eyes and think of a male other than him during the act.”
“No,” Gwen said fiercely, torn between anger at Zade and laughter at Ania’s outrageous suggestion. Who knew the serene female even had a sense of humor? Plus it was doubtful she’d be able to think of any other male, which was precisely why bonding with Zade wasn’t happening.
“I already told you—Zade’s not touching me.”
“Never in my entire life have I met a creature as stubborn as you, and that’s saying a lot for someone over nine hundred years old,” Ania said, walking to her. “I can try sharing part of it for you again, but I doubt even that will help you sleep. I urge you to reconsider allowing Dorian to help you with this.”
“If Zade li
kes his male bonding parts that dangle, he better stay the hell away from me while I’m in this mood. I own several sharp knives and I know how to use them,” Gwen said viciously “Are you done with that stick?”
Ania tossed the fighting stick to Gwen, who caught it and stalked to the middle of the mat. She watched the younger female do a series of warm-up moves. If anything, Gwen was even more precise about her movements in her current distressed state.
Since Gwen didn’t want any more help bearing her arousal burden, the least Ania figured she could do was help the stubborn female burn off some of the excess energy that came with it. It had been a long time, but Ania had never forgotten how alluring Sirens could be. Looking back on those males now, she couldn’t believe she’d managed to hold them off herself.
Sirens were not as satisfying as Norblades, but they were still alluring. Ania smiled at the memories of the other males in her life that Malachi had decided to give back to her this morning. She was really going to have to ask the demon to release everything, not just what he wanted her to remember.
Ania walked to the weapons on the wall and chose another fighting stick.
“This is not really my favorite weapon so you might have a decent shot at defeating me. Finish your exercises. When you are sufficiently prepared, we will spar,” Ania said, standing by the mat.
Never stopping her moments, Gwen glanced at the completely groomed female who looked like she had just left a spa. No one who sweated ought to look that good afterwards, Gwen thought viciously, grinning at Ania’s sweat stains. They might be in different places than hers, but that’s what they were.
“I owe you a huge thanks for helping last night,” Gwen said, spinning the stick. “I was able to finish Zade’s shift without coming unglued. Did you sleep okay?”
“Yes,” Ania said. “I spent several hours with Synar burning off the energy I carried for you.”
Gwen fumbled the stick and it went skidding over the mat to land at Ania’s feet. Gwen watched Ania lift it up with her foot, catch it, and toss it back at her like a spear. Fortunately she caught it and didn’t embarrass herself any further.
