Surviving Faith (The JackholeS, #2)

Jessie bit her bottom lip, her eyes full of fear. Before we walked out to go into the bar, I grabbed Jessie and pulled her back. I wanted to talk to her without the other girls listening.
“Jess, I know you’re worried about me, but I promise I'm going to be okay.”
“I know. I just worry about you. I don’t want my past to scare you away from love. I just don’t want you to get hurt. Things are going to change soon, and I hope you're ready for it.”
“I think you need to take your own advice.” I walked away, letting my words sink in. I didn't want to talk about anything too serious, because I was still on cloud nine from Kill’s admission of love.
When we strutted into the bar, everyone stopped to stare at us before they broke into catcalls.
Our costumes consisted of bustiers showing way too much cleavage, skirts that barely covered our asses, and our best fuck me heels—each of us in different colors. Bar wenches were in the house tonight.
Even though Amy didn’t work for Ray’s, she refused to be left out. She donned her own official beer-wench costume and wore it proudly along with the rest of us. The bar was already packed to capacity with people arriving early so they could eat before the shenanigans started.
Ray had put together games and prizes, and the crowd hummed with excitement as they waited for the festivities to start. I was busy running around and taking everyone’s orders, declining the naughty offers I received.
The bell above the door rang, making my blood pump triple time. When I looked up, my jaw dropped. Kill, Van, D, and Jet sauntered in shirtless wearing black pants, and black bow ties fastened around their necks. DJ Smoke played the Chippendales’ intro song and the JackholeS began to dance in sync, thrusting their hips in time to the music with their arms flexed behind their heads.
The whole bar went crazy, and I was afraid they would be attacked. By the way the women in the bar hollered for them to lose their pants, an attack was a definite possibility. The boys finally ended their dance and went toward their table. When the screaming bar realized they were going to keep their clothes on, boo’s and groans bounced off the walls.
Amy ran to Jet and jumped into his arms, revealing her ruffled panties when she wrapped her body around him.
I slammed a shot down while waiting for Ryan to fill my orders. We’d decided to take cabs home, so I wasn't holding back tonight. I’d pay for it tomorrow when I had to go to class, but I decided to worry about that later.
I hefted the full tray up, and then felt a pair of familiar arms wrap around me and pull me to his naked chest.
“Hey, sexy lady. How about we leave this bar and go home so I can strip you out of that dirty little costume?”
Chills ran up my arms. I spun, trying not to reveal he’d just whispered the greatest idea I’d ever heard.
“Sorry, but I have a boyfriend. I don’t think he’d appreciate my slumming around with someone who dances for a living. Just go back to your corner and make some money.”
He smiled at the reference I made to Bambi's earlier comments on slumming, then flexed his pecs, making me drool. “Nobody puts Baby in the corner."
"Sorry, not even your reference to great American movies will tempt me to cheat on my boyfriend."
"Okay, I can tell by the look in your eyes you have a devoted boyfriend who is completely in love with you, so I'll back off. I just hope he knows what a lucky bastard he is.”
I jumped up and kissed him, pressing my breasts into his naked flesh. “Yeah, he's pretty wonderful. I'll introduce you to him one of these days,” I said, kissing him again. “Nice Dirty Dancing reference there. It got me all hot and bothered.”
He raised an eyebrow as I pressed further into him. “I thought you’d like that. I didn't realize it would turn you on, though. I'll have to remember that for later. So, what do you think?” he motioned at his naked chest.
“I think I'm going to have to spray you with Skank Away to keep them away from you.”
“Me? Look at you. I almost had a heart attack when I saw you dressed up so sexy. I was afraid I’d have to blind every guy here so they wouldn’t see you dressed all hot and delicious.”
“Well, I’m glad you could contain yourself, because the tips I'm making tonight are very nice,” I said patting my apron, thick from the tips I’d already received.
“I’ll give you a tip,” he whispered in my ear. “Hell, I'll give you the whole thing.”
"Don't tempt me, Killer."
To calm myself down enough to get through my shift, I ordered another shot from Ryan. I threw the shot back, turned, and kissed him. I let his tongue explore my mouth and taste the liquid I’d just swallowed.
“So good,” he mumbled against my lips.
“I’m glad you like it.”
“I always like the way you taste, Slick. Now, let’s get these drinks delivered before there's a riot.”
I snatched my tray off the bar as Kill led the way. I was surprised I made it without tripping, because I watched his ass the whole way.
"We need to make a toast," Jet said when I placed the drinks down.
"Here's to a great Halloween," Van said as all the boys lifted their drinks to their mouths. I grabbed Kill's beer after he swallowed so I could toast with them. Jessie came over and kissed Van before we took off to continue the night of debauchery.
DJ Smoke announced the start of the games. My fellow bar wenches and I won the costume contest, and Jet surprised us all with his speed pumpkin carving skills.
As the night progressed, the boys went onstage and played a small set. I even got up and sang Monster Mash with them, while two Frankenstein's busted out some impressive dance moves.
When they were done with their set, Kill grabbed me and took me into the storage room. My body went into sexual over-drive as I remembered the last time we’d disappeared like this.
"Here, take these. You're going to hate tomorrow if you don't," Kill said handing me a bottle of water and four Advil. Disappointment rushed through me when I realized we weren't having a repeat performance.
He chuckled at me as I pouted and took the medicine, downing the whole bottle in one big drink.
“That’s my girl.”
“This isn’t what I thought we’d be doing when you dragged me in here,” I whined.
His eyes flared with lust, and his half smile graced his lips. “Oh yeah? What did you have in mind, Slick?” His eyes raked down my body, lighting it on fire with just one sweep.
“Nothing...I’m good. I'm going to go back to work,” I answered flippantly, turning to walk out the door.
His arms came around me, and I smiled in triumph, knowing I had him.
“Now, wait a second. Not so fast there,” he replied, pulling me against him.
I could feel his cock straining to be released. I ground myself into him, making him groan out loud. Looking over my shoulder, I shot him a smile before bending over and planting my hands on the door in front of me, spreading my legs and offering myself to him.
“Fuck, Slick," he groaned, running his hands over my upper thighs. He slowly pulled my ruffled panties down as far as they would go in my position.
Kill sank to his knees, his hands parting me further. His warm breath ghosted over my drenched folds. When the tip of his tongue traveled over my heated skin, my knees almost buckled.
"Easy there, Slick. You don't want people to hear you," he whispered, his words fanning my desire.
I couldn't stop the whimper as he parted my lips with his thumbs and plunged his tongue into me. Kill's hands traveled over my hips and held me tight as he worked his magic over me. I rocked my hips over his face seeking release. A growl sounded from his mouth as he sucked my clit into his mouth, hurtling me over the edge. My teeth sank into my arm as I tried to silence the cries ripping out of me.
Kill slowly rose from his knees, his hands never leaving me. His zipper slid down, every click of the teeth releasing pooled my blood hotter between my legs. It had to be the most er
otic sound I'd ever heard.
“Hard,” I ordered.
"You're going to kill me," he cursed under his breath.
"There are worse ways..." My retort died on my tongue as he slammed into me.
My knees quivered when he began to pound his hips against me. I pressed back, causing him to hit the spot I needed most. I closed my eyes as the pressure that had just released built back up.
“I can’t last much longer, Slick. You’ve had me ready to blow since the moment I saw you tonight,” Kill groaned.
His voice was tight, and I knew he was trying to hold off. He continued his thrusts as he rotated his hips, circling right over my sensitive clit. The pressure exploded around me. Kill put his hand over my mouth to keep my cries muffled. My release made him reach his breaking point, and he let go of my mouth to grip my hips as he finished inside me.
He pulled me up so I was leaning against his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around me.
“Is that what you had in mind?” he asked. His voice was full of male ego, and I couldn’t help but giggle.
“That was way better than what I had in mind."
“I love you. Slick,” he said as he bent to help put my panties back in place.
“I love you too, Killer.” My eyes blurred from a rush of unexpected tears. I didn’t really understand where they were coming from, but the emotions running through me were heightened. I blinked them away before he could see.
“I'll cover for you while you go clean up,” he said after he’d made sure I was put back together.
I scrambled out after he gave me the all clear to clean up before going back to work. My face had that I just orgasmed twice look, but I was too satisfied to be afraid someone would figure it out.
CHAPTER 18
It was less than a week before Thanksgiving, and my world was even busier than I had ever imagined it could be. The boys practiced nonstop for the Tryptophan Torture Fest, turning Kill into a huge sexy ball of energy.
I wasn't sure if he was more nervous about the concert or meeting my dad. They’d even talked on the phone a couple of times. The first time, I’d been terrified my dad was going to go cop on him and interrogate poor Kill within an inch of his life. I tried to talk Kill out of it, but he explained that if he had a daughter, he would want to be able to figure out the intentions of any boy within a twenty-mile radius of her. I finally relented, and he spoke to my father-without me in the room.
Kill refused to tell me what they’d talked about. He would only say it hurt his feelings that I underestimated his charm.
While the boys practiced, I decided to go grocery shopping and finish preparations for the bulk of the feast. Although, I would most likely be sending one or more of them back to the store throughout the week to pick up the things I'd forgotten.
I made Martha swear she wouldn’t bring anything so she could just come and enjoy Portland with my dad. She tried to argue, but I explained to her this was my thank you for taking such good care of my dad. I refused to hear another word about her lifting a finger on Thanksgiving.
While at the grocery store, my phone rang. I answered it without checking the caller ID, assuming it would be Kill or Martha wanting to argue again.
“Hello.” I pushed the cart with one hand, holding the phone to my cheek as I reread my list, making sure I didn’t miss anything in the aisle I was on before venturing to the next.
“Faith?”
I stopped walking and glanced at my phone, verifying the number belonged to Jason’s dad’s advertising company. My stomach flopped as I reached for the bottle of Tums in my purse, popping a couple in my mouth. “Yes."
“Faith, this is Mr. Hutchingson. I would like to talk to you tomorrow. Two o’clock at the coffee shop across from my office building.”
I bristled at his tone and confidence. The way he ordered the time for our meeting made me feel like I was unable to say no.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Hutchingson, but I don’t think there’s anything we need to discuss.” I sucked hard on the Tums in my mouth, willing them to melt quickly so they could settle the boulder as it rocked around in my stomach.
“This is about your father.”
“My father?” I questioned, confused as to why any of my family would have anything to do with this phone call. “What does he have to do with this?” I asked again, when he didn’t respond the first time I asked.
“I will see you tomorrow at two.” With that, he hung up, leaving me both confused and pissed off.
He'd put me in a corner, knowing I would show up just to find out what he was talking about. I finished shopping with my mind whirling instead of focused on the task at hand. Hundreds of possibilities as to why he wanted to talk to me presented themselves. The sad part was that none of them were any good.
The next day, I barely paid attention to my classes, my mind still reeling from what I had to do afterward. As I walked to my car, my feet felt heavy. They seemed to get heavier with every step I took.
I didn’t even notice Trent until I’d almost walked straight into him. The urge to lash out at him for his weird behavior simmered through me, but I bit my tongue. It wasn’t he who was causing my strife, so I would have just been using him as an outlet for my frustration.
“Hey, Faith. Are you okay? You seem out of it.” His forehead was creased with concern, and I softened a little.
Maybe telling him about my impromptu meeting would be a good idea, since he was the only one who knew about Jason’s continued harassment. “Sorry, I didn’t see you there. My mind is kind of frantic right now. Jason’s dad called me yesterday, and he wants to meet with me today.” The gnawing in my stomach increased with the thought of the impending meeting.
His eyes went wide with shock. “Why does he want to meet with you?” he asked, his voice pitched with concern.
“I don’t know.”
“Are you going to meet him?” He looked around the campus like Jason’s dad would pop up and yell boo.
“I have to. He said it concerned my dad and wouldn’t tell me anything else before hanging up on me.”
Trent’s forehead creased further. “Are you going to tell him about the notes Jason has been leaving on your car?” he asked, glancing at my windshield.
I looked there also, noticing it was void of any paper. I shrugged, not knowing what I should do. All night long, I tossed and turned, trying to figure out what the cryptic conversation on the phone could mean, but nothing had come of it.
Kill had held me tight, but it was the first time I couldn’t get comfortable while lying in his arms. He didn’t sleep very well either because of my restlessness. The dark circles under his eyes were prominent during our morning run.
Trent was studying my face, trying to get answers to questions he wasn’t asking.
“I don’t know what's going to happen. I'm going to meet him and hopefully just get out of there as soon as I can,” I said, looking at the clock on my phone. I needed to go soon if I wanted to make it to the coffee shop on time.
“Call me as soon as you get done with him.” Trent’s face was lined with concern.
“I will, but I have to go. I don’t want to be late.”
Trent grabbed my arm and squeezed it. I winced at the power behind his grip.
“It will be fine, Trent, but I really have to go. I'll call you later.”
He let me go, watching as I got into my car and drove away. The whole Trent situation vacated my mind the closer I got to the coffee shop. It frustrated me that I couldn't think of a reason why Jason’s dad would want to meet with me.
I found a parking spot and sat in my car, gathering all the strength I could muster. I begged the universe to get me through what was about to happen. I ensured my cell phone was still on silent, not wanting to be disturbed. With nothing else to procrastinate over, I got out of the car slowly.
Mr. Hutchingson sat at a table in the back of the coffee shop. His face was bright red, just like the last time I’d seen him. His eyes
were harder no longer having to pretend he liked me. His sandy-blonde hair was groomed meticulously and his dark blue suit wrapped around him showing off his hulking body.
I wondered briefly if Jason had told his father why I’d left, but quickly dismissed the thought. If Jason couldn’t come to terms with reality himself, he would never let anyone else know the truth.
The look of disgust was evident on Mr. Hutchingson's face when I sat down. Anger started to boil inside me, being he was the one who’d wanted to see me, not the other way around. Why he looked so put out was beyond me.
“Hello, Mr. Hutchingson.”
“Faith.” He all but spit my name out, like the taste of it was bitter on his tongue.
“I will get right to the point. You need to tell your dad to back the hell off my son.”
With all the scenarios I had come up with in my mind since getting his phone call, this wasn’t even close to what I’d imagined. “I’m sorry. I don’t understand,” I said, perplexed as to what my dad could have to do with this.
Mr. Hutchingson rolled his eyes as if I was a complete moron and he was wasting his time talking to me. “Your dad has been investigating Jason, and it needs to stop immediately.”
His words slapped me in the face. A couple of pieces to the puzzle snapped snuggly in place.
“I was contacted by one of my friends in the precinct. Your dad's using his old connections to dig into Jason’s file. He's especially curious about the restraining order you filed against my son and the reason it was dismissed.”
I opened my mouth to tell him this was the first I’d heard of the investigation, but he steamrolled over me.
“This whole thing is ridiculous and needs to stop now. I refuse to let my son's future be jeopardized by some suicidal girl and her retired father trying to make his comeback into the force.”
My body froze when he mentioned suicidal. He looked down at my right wrist. Even though it faced down, I could feel his eyes burning through my skin and bones until he was face to face with the tiny silver scar marring its inside.
