Dillon lowered her head and tentatively kissed her. Callie wrapped her arms around Dillon’s neck and pulled her closer, aware that the predominantly straight crowd must be staring, but not caring. Her body swayed, and she wasn’t sure if she was responding to the music or molding herself into Dillon’s hard, hot form. Dillon’s kiss was soft and Callie could tell she was holding back her passion. But Callie didn’t want her to. She was tired of holding in her feelings for Dillon, and she wanted to possess every inch and to feel every molecule of her.
Dillon pulled away, breathing heavily. She had gambled by letting Callie know how she felt about her. She had been afraid Callie would laugh in her face and call her a fool, but she would be a bigger fool if she let her walk away.
Now she was certain nobody would ever exist for her except for Callie, who filled her arms to overflowing. She wanted her now, tomorrow, and forever. She rolled the dice again. “Will you marry me?”
Callie’s heart raced faster than it had the first time Dillon asked her. This time she was certain Dillon meant it the way it was supposed to be. Dillon loved her and wanted her. Not some piece of land, not as a means to another accomplishment, but simply her.
“On one condition.”
“Anything.”
“Sign the papers.”
