Mihang’el: Seraph warrior and twin brother of Gavri’el.
Morgan Valestead: A lord of Avonvale who the Wizard names King following the conquest. He is the brother of Anne Valestead and cousin of Prince Erec and Princesses Terrwyn and Taite Valestead.
Nephilim: Children born of a human and seraph union. The subsequent descendants of nephilim are also referred to as nephilim.
Orlaith Maraes: Queen of Beagonia. Wife of King Gregory, and mother of Prince Jerin and Princess Sarah.
Orrick, Sir: Mysterious knight who seduced Anne and fathered her child. Revealed to be Shebath.
Oswin Astroff: Beagonian emissary to Libetha and priest in the cult of Shebath.
Paladin: Elite military order of knights from the Kingdom of Caerwynspire.
Paladin Quest: A quest to recover the Sword of Light that each initiate to the Paladin must successfully complete before joining the order.
Ramo: Sailor upon the Vagabond.
Rayfen: Also known as the Black Knight. He is a shedom who assists the Wizard in his conquest of the Middle Realm.
Realm of Light: The first realm. It is eternally light and is home to the seraph who refer to the realm as Auraehalis.
Realm of Darkness: The second realm. It is eternally dark and is home to shedom, se’irim and other creatures of darkness who refer to the realm as Abaddock.
Realm Wars: Wars fought between seraph and shedom in the Middle Realm.
Riversmeet: Capital city of the Kingdom of the Stromland. Located at the intersection of the Dracen River, Strom River, and Ehren River and ruled by King Tybalt until conquered by the Wizard.
Robert: Lancer of Avonvale and member of the Royal Guard.
Rodrick, Sir: Paladin warrior from Caerwynspire and the Queen’s personal guard.
Sarah Maraes: Princess of Beagonia. Daughter of King Gregory and Queen Orlaith and sister of Prince Jerin. Half-sister of Thomas, aka Tamesis.
Scorched Mountains: Mountain range in the northern most part of the Middle Realm, within the Kingdom of Caerwynspire. It is believed that the gate to the Realm of Darkness is located there.
Se’irim: Demonic creatures from the Realm of Darkness that have hairy humanoid bodies, but have hooves, rams’ horns, tails and razor sharp teeth. They are used as foot soldiers by the shedom.
Sephene Greynault: Eldest daughter of Theron and Azaleigh Greynault, sister to Auguston, Breston, Staphon and Merdith, and cousin to Prince Erec and Princesses Terrwyn and Taite Valestead. Served as lady-in-waiting to Terrwyn.
Seraph: Winged beings from the Realm of Light. Also known as fae, faeries or angels in the common tongue.
Shade: Malevolent spirits that appear as shadows.
Shebath: Ruler of the Realm of Darkness.
Shedom: Demonic beings from the Realm of Darkness.
Shield Maidens: See Valkyrie.
Shimmer: The dracen psychically bonded to Willem.
Sibilus: Duchess of Caerwynspire. Aunt of King Artur and Princess Ashleen of Caerwynspire, mother of Queen Karissa of Ephenee, grandmother of Prince Eamon of Ephenee.
Stanlas, Sir: Knight and infantry commander for Lord Greynault of Avonvale.
Staphon Greynault: Third son of Lord Theron and Lady Azaleigh Greynault, brother to Auguston, Breston, Sephene and Merdith, and cousin to Prince Erec and Princesses Terrwyn and Taite Valestead.
Stark: Sailor upon the Vagabond.
Starron: First mate of the Vagabond. Later promoted to captain.
Stromland, The: Kingdom located directly north of Avonvale. Ruled by the House of Calder. The capital city is Riversmeet. Citizens known as Stromish.
Succubath: Shedom worshipers with blood of shedom who seduce nobles and royalty to spread the shedom bloodline.
Sword of Light: A sword forged in the Realm of Light from the light itself and given to the ancestors of the House Caerwyn to defend against the forces of darkness. A sword of light could also refer to any sword forged in Auraehalis.
Taite Valestead: Princess of Avonvale and daughter of King Alexandeon. She is sister to Prince Erec and Princess Terrwyn. She has a pet wolf named Valko.
Talis: Elophim warrior and ancestor of the House of Talison.
Talisaria: Northern kingdom ruled by the House of Talison. The capital city is Bien. Citizens known as Talisarian.
Tallah: Girl from Elophborne who befriends Taite.
Tam, Sir: Knight of Avonvale.
Tamesis: A dark wizard who leads an army of drakmere to conquer the Middle Realm. Also known as Thomas or simply as the Wizard. Bastard son of King Gregory Maraes and the witch Lilit.
Tarlton: A lord of Caerwynspire and member of the Council of Lords. Shebath worshiper who betrayed and killed King Artur.
Teigan: A lord of Talisaria and commander of King Baltus’ military. Father of Queen Ariana. Shebath worshiper.
Terrance, Sir: Knight and Commander of the City Guard of Avonvale under King Morgan.
Terrwyn Valestead: Princess of Avonvale and daughter of King Alexandeon. She is sister to Prince Erec and Princess Taite.
Theron Greynault: Lord of Castle Greynault and brother-in-law to King Alexandeon. Father of Auguston, Breston, Sephene, Staphon and Merdith. Husband of Azaleigh.
Thomas: The name the Wizard was raised under. See also Tamesis.
Tibor: Epheneen lord and close counsel to Queen Regent Karissa.
Toddson: Lance Corporal in the City Guard of Avonvale.
Tomfrey, Sir: Paladin warrior from Caerwynspire. Sponsored Princess Ashleen for admittance into the Order of Paladin. Brother of Sir Carson and grandson of Sir Gelispee. Accompanies Ashleen south to Dracengard.
Topher: Stable boy in Avonvale.
Trapp: General of the military forces of the Stromland under King Tybalt.
Turk: Valish archer.
Tybalt Calder I: King of the Stromland and father to Tybalt Calder II.
Tybalt Calder II: Crown Prince of the Stromland and son of King Tybalt. Betrothed to Princess Terrwyn. Goes by his middle name Dillan when captaining his ship the Vagabond. See also Dillan.
Tythan Talison: Crown Prince of Talisaria. Son of King Baltus, stepson of Queen Ariana and brother of Queen Gwyndalin of Caerwynspire. Uncle of Princess Ashleen Caerwyn.
Ulrich Magnus: Most recent king of Elophborne, now deceased. Husband of Queen Griselda and father of Princes Willem, Edward and Geoffrey and Princess Ella.
Vagabond, The: Stromish ship commanded by Captain Dillan and docked at the port of Lattingham when the story begins.
Valko: Princess Taite’s pet wolf.
Valkyrie: An elite military order of all female seraph. Also known as shield maidens. Since the fall of the Watchers, the Valkyrie have served as enforcers for the Father and the Alphas.
Verdid: Retired captain in the Stromish navy and Captain Dillan’s mentor. Brings Dillan news of the fall Riversmeet and death of his family. Delivers the Stromland’s Dracenstone to Dillan.
Vidar: Elophim warrior living in the Great Forest and ancestor to the House of Calder.
Walish: Beagonian lord who was engaged to marry Princess Sarah.
Warren Hightower: King of Libetha, father of Prince Amott and brother of Duke Andrick.
Watchers, The: Elophim who are tasked to remain in the Middle Realm to watch over humanity.
White Fortress, The: A seemingly impregnable fortress constructed by seraph thousands of years ago to act as an outpost to defend against forces from the Realm of Darkness. It is now the capital of the Kingdom of Caerwynspire.
Willem Magnus: Crown Prince of Elophborne and son of King Ulrich and Queen Griselda. He is brother of Princess Ella, Prince Edward and Prince Geoffrey.
Wizard, The: See Tamesis. See also Thomas.
Xylon: Elophim warrior living in the Great Forest and ancestor to the House of Magnus.
