Her breasts bounce as I move her faster and I can’t stop looking at them. I guess the bouncing of them is bothering her as she takes each one in her hands, cupping them so they don’t bounce as much. The sight of her holding them is making me crazy hot and I explode into her.
Her body tightens around my cock and it squeezes me in short bursts as she cries out with pleasure. “Levi! God, Levi!”
The secret pleasure it gives me to hear my name come out of her mouth as she experiences the most intense pleasure she ever has makes me feel powerful. It’s hard to believe such a simple act can make a man feel like he’s unstoppable.
NORA
Dinner was wonderful at the small café Levi took me too. Never had I tasted a steak which was battered and fried like one makes friend chicken. They put a white gravy over it and served it with some mashed potatoes and I dare say it’s my new favorite food.
To the saloon we walk, Levi’s arm loosely run over my shoulders. I lean into his wide chest and care nothing about what anyone thinks. This man of mine makes me feel special and loved and above all things, safe.
Smoke from the many cigars being smoked make ribbons in the air as we walk through the swinging doors. It’s early and not a lot of people are inside. A tall man looks at us with a smile and Levi takes me towards him.
The three men at the table stand as we approach them. Levi says, “As promised, Bill, I brought my wife to meet you.” He gestures to me. “Bill, this is my wife, Nora.” He gestures to the man. “Nora, this is the legendary Wild Bill Hickok.”
“This is the, Bill, who gave you the money for dinner!” I make a small courtesy. “It’s an honor to meet you, Mr. Hickok. I’ve read about you in the articles, back in New Jersey. I must admit, you’re much more handsome than the writers have suggested.”
He takes my hand and kisses the top of it and I know I’m blushing up a storm. “Those stories don’t hold a candle to my real life story, Nora. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He pulls out a chair. “Please have a seat and let’s have a drink. I’d like to make a toast to a happy future for the two of you.”
I take the seat and Levi sits next to me. “Wow! I’m sitting next to the Wild Bill Hickok! My friends back home will never believe me when I write them about this!”
A saloon maid in a gaudy red and black dress with black feathers in her long, blonde hair brings a round of shot glasses full of a brown liquid. I’ve heard about whiskey but never tasted it.
Levi gestures to the man with a crossed eye sitting at the table. “This is a newcomer I met last night. Jack McCall. Jack, my wife, Nora.”
“Pleased to meet you. Your husband steered me in the direction of this watering hole and I dare say I’ve had anything but good luck in here,” the man smiles though so I guess he’s okay with losing his money.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. McCall,” I say.
Then Levi points to the other man at the table. “This man is Charlie Rich, one of our little town’s best card players. Charlie, my wife, Nora.”
The man gives me a nod. “Nice to meet you, Mrs. Langston.”
Bill holds up his little shot glass as does everyone else so I pick mine up and follow suit as Bill says, “To the happy new couple, may you see many years of happiness and always keep a warm bed.”
I blush as the men say, “Here, here.”
They all toss the drink down and I do as well. Quickly followed by a coughing fit as the hot liquid burns as it goes down. “Boy! That stuff’s awful!” I regain my composure and look at Bill. “But thank you for the drink anyway.”
He laughs and reaches out to me. “May I have this dance, Mrs. Langston?”
I look back at Levi who gives me a nod. “Yes sir, it would be a pleasure.”
He takes my hand and takes me to a small dance floor as the piano player plays a slow song. “Your husband is a real good man, lawman or not,” he says with a chuckle.
“I think he’s a good man as well.”
“How do you think you’ll take to life in this rowdy town?” he asks as he moves me across the dance floor, fluidly.
“I think I’ll take to it well. There’s a strange feeling this town gives off. Excitement, unlike anywhere I’ve ever been. Not that I’ve been a lot of places.”
“I agree, there’s a feeling of anything can happen. Somehow it’s both relaxing and yet it keeps you on your toes.” He pushes me out and spins me in a slow circle then pulls me back to him.
“My friends back home will never believe I danced with you. Thank you so much for asking me. And thanks for the dinner and the somewhat terrible drink.”
He laughs and the song ends. “Thank you for the dance, Mrs. Langston. And do me one favor, please.”
“Sure, anything,” I say as he escorts me back to the table.
He looks deep into my eyes. “Take care of that man. Make him a good wife. He’s full of life, don’t take that out of him. I’ve seen many a strong man turned to a shell because of a wife who wanted to tame him. Levi’s wild, but a good wild. Add to that, don’t try to take it away. Don’t try to tame him. You get what I’m saying?”
“I think I do, and I believe I’ll follow your wise advice. He’s a different breed, and he needs to stay that way. Thank you, sir.”
With a smile and a kiss on the cheek he places my hand in Levi’s “You got a good girl here, Levi. You make sure you treat her that way or you’ll answer to me.”
“I will, don’t you worry, Bill. She’s a rare find,” Levi says then looks at me. “Well, I’m about to have to get to work, so let’s get you back home, honey.”
Everyone is nice and waves goodbye to me as we leave and I feel like this place can be my home. I lean into Levi as he walks me back home. “I can’t believe I met the real Wild Bill and danced with him and everything. No one is going to believe me. Thank you for taking me in there. I know many a husband who wouldn’t have.”
He kisses the top of my head. “I want you to experience this crazy place. To keep you cooped up isn’t a thing I want to do to you.”

I hold Nora tight to me after a hard night at work. The moon was full and the people where more rowdy than they usually are. Three fights over cards and one over a woman I had to break up.
With small kisses to the back of her neck, I wake Nora up. I want to take her to see the land I want to purchase. She stirs with my kisses and stretches in my arms. “Time to wake up,” I whisper.
With a low groan she gets out of bed. Her naked body makes me want to pull her back into the bed and make her mine all over again, but I really want to take her to see the place.
Riding back from the property, Nora sits in front of me. Her long, black curls bounce with every step the horse makes. The flowery scent of her shampoo wafts up to me and I love it.
“So, you liked it, right?” I ask as she’s remained quiet about the land.
“I liked the creek and the trees. It is a bit out of town, but that’s okay, I suppose.”
“You sound a little disappointed.”
“I’m not,” she says as she leans back against me. “It’s just that I’ll miss being able to look out the window to see you at work. That’s all it is. I really do love the area. It’s very pretty and when we do have children, it’ll be a great place for them.”
We come into the edge of town. “So, the only thing you don’t like is that’s it’s not in town?”
“I don’t want a place in town. I’ll just miss being able to see you when I want.”
One hand I run up and down her arm as her words mean more to me than she probably even knows they do. To be missed is a thing I didn’t know I wanted, but hearing it, I love it.
As we draw closer to the Number Ten saloon I see Jack McCall lingering just outside the doors. He seems to be looking inside, but hanging back for some odd reason. He steps inside, then I hear the all too familiar sound of a gunshot.
In a flash, Jack runs back out and jumps on the back of the first horse he sees as he c
omes out. I kick the horse to run after him, then Charlie Rich runs out the door and looks at me. “He shot, Bill!”
“God, no!” Nora screams.
I pull up short at the bar and quickly help Nora down and jump off the horse. I run inside, Nora right behind me. There on the floor lies Bill. She gasps behind me and I stop and turn, pulling her into my chest. “You don’t need to see this.”
“I was in his damn chair,” Charlie says with a hoarse voice. “He came in and I was in his chair. He always sat so he could see who was coming in. But his back was to the door and the rat bastard shot him.”
I hold Nora to my chest and ask Charlie, “Why did he do it?”
“He kept losing last night. Bill told him to get out of the game for a while. Give himself a chance to stop the losing streak. McCall got mad. He kept playing till he had nothing left.”
“So he shot him in the back. Damn it!”
Tons of people start coming in and I know I need to get Nora out of here and go find McCall. I turn her in my arms and she tries to look back, but I push her cheek to turn around. “You don’t need to see him like that. He’d hate that.”
As we get outside she breaks down. “That’s horrible, Levi. You have to find that awful man!”
“I will, don’t you worry.”
NORA
I sit and wait as I continue to look out the window for Levi to return to me. I pray like I never have before as he and many others hunt for Jack McCall.
The fact is, I know Jack has a gun and since he’s killed Bill Hickok; I doubt he has anything to lose by killing Levi. I just know Levi is going to go at him for killing Bill.
People scurry about on the street as it begins to get dark. I want Levi to come back to me. Leave the search for the night. My heart has never beat so hard for so long. I fear it may pound right out of my chest.
One of the other deputies rides into town and straight up to the Sheriff’s office. I listen out the opened window as he shouts, “Levi has him!”
God no!
Why does it have to be Levi who has him? Why does he have to be so damn brave? Why couldn’t he let someone who doesn’t have a wife waiting at home for him get the damn man?
I pace as I keep my eyes on the road, waiting impatiently for Levi to bring the man to jail. A crowd gathers in front of the Sheriff’s office as they anticipate their arrival.
I can see much better from up here, so I wait and watch. The sun sets and still no sign of my husband. Then I hear the sound of horses snorting and hooves pounding the ground. At the very end of town I can see several horses. A tall figure rides one, and he pulls a horse along behind him. Jack McCall is bound on the horse, laying over the saddle.
Out the window I look until I see Levi’s face clearly. Not a sign of any injury I see and my feet are flying down the stairs before I even realize it.
The crowd is thick and excited as I try to make my way through them to get to my husband. A strong hand grabs me by the shoulder. I look back to see one of the deputies, I think his name is Jacob. He has a strong Irish accent. “You wait here with me. Levi has to get the rogue inside and he’d have me hide if I let a thing happen to you.”
He pulls me back into the small office and takes me behind the desk. He keeps his body in front of mine as Levi and another deputy come inside with McCall. My heart speeds up as I see Levi and even though he seems fine, I just want to touch him to be sure.
Once they have the man in the cell they untie him and he lies on the cot with no struggle. Levi closes and locks the cell and Jacob finally steps out of the way so I can get to my husband. “Levi,” I say as I run to him. “I was so afraid!”
“It’s okay,” he says soothingly as he picks me up in his arms. “I’m fine.”
My body starts shaking and I’m crying as he kisses the top of my head. “I hate this. Why did you have to go?”
“Might want to get her upstairs, lad,” Jacob tells Levi.
Levi sweeps my legs under his arm and carries me up the stairs as I cry into his chest. Once inside, he goes to our bed and sits down with me on his lap. “Shh, baby. You don’t need to cry. I’m alright.”
“But I was so afraid I might never see you alive again. It tore me apart, Levi. I can’t take this. This is too much. You could be taken from me at any time. I just realized that. It hit me like a brick,” I say as I sob uncontrollably.
“It’s my job, baby. It’s what I do. Getting the bad guy isn’t always real safe,” he says as he runs his large hands through my hair. Little kisses he pecks all over my head. “You’ll get used to it.”
I push back hard against him and shout, “I’ll get used to it? I’ll get used to your life being in danger? I’ll get used to watching you ride off and not know if I’ll see you alive again? Are you crazy?”
A confused expression he wears as he says, “Shit! You knew what I was when you married me. This is what I do. What did you think would happen when shit got bad? Did you expect me to turn tail and run in here with you and let the other men go do the dirty work? I’m no coward, Nora! If that’s the kind of man you wanted you should’ve never told me yes.”
His words spin in my aching head. I’ve held my jaw tight as I waited to see him again. My stomach has remained clenched and my hands ache from squeezing them into fists. Is this what life with him means? Will I become a nervous wreck?
Levi looks away from me and stands up, placing me on my feet. “I have to get back to work. There’s more to do and I can’t sit up here and wipe your tears. If you can’t handle this then maybe you and I weren’t meant to be. I can send you back to New Jersey after we get an annulment.”
My heart shatters as he leaves me alone in the bedroom. I fall face first on the bed and cry like I never have before. After a while the tears stop and Wild Bill Hickok’s face fills my mind. The words he told me about not breaking Levi’s wild spirit make me think.
Levi loves what he does and fear isn’t a thing he seems to have. I did agree to marry him even though I knew his job was dangerous. I get up and go wash my face.
I am the wife of a lawman. My husband can walk out that door and not come back one day, and I have to be strong for him and later I’ll have to be strong for our children.
So I sit and wait for my husband to come back home so I can apologize.
LEVI
A few too many whiskey shots I’ve had as others congratulate me on the capture of McCall. My wife waits and I have the biggest fear she’ll want to go back home to Jersey and leave this life and me behind her.
Up the narrow staircase I go with the heaviest heart I’ve ever had. It’s dark, not even one candle is lit to welcome me back home. I suppose I know what she wants now.
I pull my clothes off as I walk through the house to the bedroom. I’ll undress and go to sleep and leave her alone. It’s going to kill me, but that’s what I have to do.
“Levi?” her sweet voice asks.
“It’s me,” I say and hold my breath as I’m more afraid of what she’s going to say to me than I ever have been.
Her shadow I see sit up on the bed and I go to her. She reaches out and takes my hand in hers. I’m shaking and she feels it. “Levi, why are you shaking?”
“Because I’m more afraid than I’ve ever been.”
“Why?”
I sit down next to her and hang my head. “I’m afraid you’re going to leave me.”
She pulls my head to her breast and runs her hand over my hair. “I’m never leaving you, Levi. I was afraid. More than I’ve ever been. But you have a purpose and it’s my job to be strong and stand behind what it is you do. I’m sorry about how I acted. I love you and I don’t want anything to happen to you, but you love what you do and I need to understand that. I need to find my place in that. Not try to stop you from doing what you were born to do.”
Relief floods my body and I nearly fall apart. “Thank you, Nora. Thank you for understanding who I am. I love you so damn much. More than I could’ve ever imagined. If y
ou left it would kill me.”
“Shh. Let’s not talk like that. You and I are married. No one’s leaving, ever. There are no guarantees in this life, but the one thing I can promise you is that I will accept what goes with you, you wild man, no matter what. I love you way too much to leave you.”
I pull my wife into my arms and lie her back on our bed. Her mouth I take and hold her tight as I kiss her and let the reality that she loves me and will live this crazy life with me sink in.
Life is good, and our love will see us through.

“I now pronounce you man and wife,” the preacher says. “Joshua, you may kiss your bride.”
The words ring in my ears as the tall, blonde-haired, green-eyed man moves his handsome face towards mine. His full lips pucker and his eyes close, I find myself gazing at him. I close my eyes too and let him press his lips to mine.
