Fifty Shades of Victorian Desire

  Q. – How ought a whore to conduct herself when her charms have attracted a customer?

  A. – She must make him feel himself perfectly at home. The first thing a man does, when entering the lodgings of a girl, is to explore her bubbies, then her buttocks, and next her ‘bush’. While he is doing this, she ought to unbutton his breeches, and play with his tool, which is most probably in a state of erection, produced by the examination of her person. Now is the time to use endearing expressions and exciting titillations, and now is also the proper period for demanding her fee, which will be the more readily given to prevent delay between the preludes and the moment of enjoyment. It will not be amiss to mention in this place the rapacious custom of many courtezans. If a gentleman offers them a crown, they will demand two. If he yields, their importunity increases, they want a ribbon or a ring, in short, they are never satisfied. This conduct, however, is very injurious to them, because the men’s minds being intent on pleasure, are greatly disgusted by being so long baulked through the avarice of the women.

  Q. – What are the attributes and utensils requisite for the chamber of a woman of pleasure!

  A. – She ought to have some good rods hung up in sight; also in her drawers she ought to have scourges of different kinds of leather, a cat-of-ninetails made of knotted whip cord, and one with pins fastened to the thongs, together with straps, bandages, and cords, strong enough to bind a powerful man.

  Q. – What are the uses of all these things?

  A. – They are of very great importance in the profession of a courtezan, because many men would never visit her if she did not keep rods and know how to use them. Flagellation is one of the most powerful excitements that can be resorted to when friction and coaxing have not been able to procure an erection. Give a man twenty or thirty hard cuts on the backside with a good rod, and it will soon rouse his energies, and make him fit for action. The passion for birch discipline is not confined to persons advanced in life, you will meet with candidates for it of all ages, from eighteen to eighty. Some will only require it gently, whilst others will not be satisfied unless you wear out two rods upon them, and cause the blood to run down at their heels. They generally like to be strapped down to a couch or horse, or to have their hands tied firmly to a bed post. Courtezans in good practice have curious machines made on purpose to confine these votaries of discipline hand and foot while they receive the torture. Some copulate immediately afterward, others only wish to be tossed off by a female hand; whilst a third class obtain all the pleasure they desire during the period of fustigation. They are brought to their crisis by the intensity of the smart and the sperm flies from them spontaneously. Some are frigged by one woman while another flogs them: others like to be horsed on the back of an athletic female and discharged through the friction against her back. You will find this class of customers have more odd whims, strange fancies, and fantastical caprices than any others. Some will require to be flogged in woman’s clothes; and before they undergo the operation, will call in the aid of great variety of preludes and ceremonies, without which their imagination will not be sufficiently worked upon.

  Q. – Ought a courtezan to demand a double fee for the execution of so fatiguing operation?

  A. – Certainly; for although she may derive a degree of pleasure in flogging a handsome backside, and may sometimes even ‘spend’ whilst engaged in a flagellation, yet there are paillards who would tire out the arm of the most vigorous woman who might herself have a passion for this kind of excitement. She ought, therefore, to be well paid for the rods she uses in this tragic-comic ceremony.

  Q. – What language ought a courtezan to using during flagellation?

  A. – Her conversation ought to be suited to the character and humor of the paillard whom she fustigates. Some like to be sworn at and assailed with the most violent and blackguard terms of abuse while their flesh is being cut to pieces. This class will often have an erection like a jackass, and the sperm will fly from them with fury whilst under the operation. Others again, whose passions and humours are more mild, are desirous that you should renew with them the innocent sports of childhood, and pretend to administer juvenile corrections, calling them naughty boys, little scoundrels, mischievous rogues, dunces, ordering them to put down their breeches, and threatening to whip them until the blood comes. These, and many other phrases of a similar nature, which a skilful courtezan knows how to use, have a wonderful effect in procuring an erection and making them discharge.

  Q. – Can you give me any other information relative to this strange lech?

  A. – Some men instead of being whipped themselves by a female, have a desire to be the operator. Their lech is to flog a girl who has a fine plump bottom. They like to have her hands tied to a sofa or horse, but generally prefer having her legs left at liberty, as her kicking, wriggling and plunging, adds much to their amusement. The quivering and reddening of her buttocks under the rod, is to them a powerful source of excitement. They sometimes discharge whilst in action, or release the girl and spend with her; others have no connection with the woman, but will be ‘tossed off by another female hand. There are, in all establishments devoted to venereal pleasures, women trained on purpose to receive severe whippings, many of whom make fortunes entirely by the hardness of their posteriors. There is also a third class of paillards connected with this singular lech, who neither wish to whip nor to be whipped, but are satisfied with the sight of it. These would give any money to peep through a window and see a great girl of fourteen or fifteen horsed and flogged by a schoolmistress. They often set women up in schools in order that they may witness such exhibitions.

  Q. – What other attributes and utensils should adorn the chamber of a fille de joie?

  A. – She ought to have a collection of lascivious pictures and bawdy books, illustrated with prints, some baudruches and two or three dildoes.

  Q. – What am I to understand by baudruches?

  A. – They are little bags or sheaths made from the blind gut of the lamb, with which a man envelopes his pego when he strokes a woman of whom he is not sure. By this means he is protected against the pox; but the precaution, thought prudent, is often displeasing to women of a lustful temperament, as it deprives them of the boiling injection. They are also used to prevent getting modest women with child, and are of great importance to married women whose husbands are abroad?

  Q. – What do you mean by ‘dildoes’?

  A. – A dildoe is an artificial prick, intended originally for the use of those who could not get the real thing. It is of very great antiquity, being well known to the ancient Hebrews, Chaldeans, Persians, etc. The Egyptians made them of porcelain; the Greeks of wood and ivory; the Roman ladies preferred them of glass, and called them ‘Phalli’. We, however, make them of india-rubber, and cause them to perform as well, if not better than the real thing. They are much used by nuns in convents, and by widows and old maids; but the use a courtezan has for them is only to gratify the caprices of her visitors. For this purpose it is necessary to have two sorts, some to use with the hand, as when a gentleman wishes to see a girl frig herself with a dildoe: and some made with stomacher and bands, for one woman to strap on in order that she might roger another woman, which gentleman often order to be performed in their presence, and pay well for seeing it.

  Q. – Ought a courtezan to go with a man when she knows she is diseased?

  A. – No. She ought to consider it unpardonable to communicate her corruption to one who seeks nothing but pleasure in her embraces. She ought to prefer losing her practice, but a candid avowal of her situation will often gain her the esteem of her customer, who, in such cases, will not baulk her of her fee, and will content himself with the use of her hand.

  Q. – Ought a courtezan to go with a man when she has her courses?

  A. – No. It is necessary to observe a strict degree of decency even in debauchery, to prevent the opposite sex being disgusted. I am aware that women are apt to be more lustful during the period of thei
r ‘menses,’ but they must not let their passions overcome their prudence. Nevertheless, if a man persist in his determination to stroke a girl after she has apprised him of her situation, she ought no doubt, to profit by the violence of his desire. Men are very different in their tastes and desires. Some are very delicate and particular, others very gross and sensual, and careless of cleanliness which are necessary to tempt and provoke the appetites of the former class. Some like high-seasoned ‘things’, others would have them washed every hour in the day. You will occasionally meet with very strange animals among them; but you may take as a general rule, that neatness and propriety will be most universally esteemed. Cleanliness ought to be the religion of every woman, but more particularly of the courtezan whose livelihood is to administer pleasure promiscuously.

  Q. – Ought a courtezan to submit to the embraces of a man who is diseased?

  A. – If it is not permitted her to go with a man when she herself is contaminated, she has of course, the privilege of refusing the embrace of a man who is infected. Indeed, it is a duty every courtezan owes herself, to examine minutely the state of a man’s vessel before she suffers it to enter her port. It ought to undergo the quarantine of a strict investigation. She ought to lug out his tool, shake it, rub the foreskin up and down, and squeeze the gland of the penis to see if there are any relics of disease. She ought, moreover, to cast an inquisitive eye at his shirt, in order to ascertain if there are any indications of a geographical chart on it.

  Q. – May a girl avail herself off all the finesses of her sex, and whatever arts of fascination she possesses, in order to obtain as much money as possible from those who visit her?

  A. – Yes. As long as no fraud is made use of, and good faith directs the temptations, she may employ the art of a syren. In doing this she is only following her vocation, and the man has nothing to complain of but his own weakness in yielding to her fascination.

  Q. – To what age can a courtezan exercise her profession with honour and profit?

  A. – That depends a great deal on temperament. The fair women ought to quit this trade before the dark ones, as their flesh is more subject to become flabby. A woman who has been in the seraglios until she is forty, must be very much the worse for wear, and will find it prudent to retire.

  Q. – What then must a courtezan do who has grown old in the combats of Venus, without having laid anything by to support her declining years?

  A. – That fault, which is almost universal with women of pleasure, is not then to be remedied. Plutus generally flies from the boudoirs which are deserted by love; and an old whore has no alternative but to be either a bawd or servant to another whore; for no longer able to make dupes, she must content herself with holding the candle, and being sometimes the patient spectatress of certain pleasures, the remembrance of which must cause the most painful regrets. Her only hope can be the chance of occasionally cajoling a gouty old codger, or a young fellow rendered stupid through drunkenness. The courtezan on the contrary, who, during the prosperity of youth, has laid by a competence, shall still have as much sensual pleasure as she can wish, even under wrinkles, and old age, for her money will procure her as many strokers as she pleases. She may often in the embraces of a robust operator forget her decrepitude and enjoy the pleasure of youth over again; for a woman can never be too old to receive delight, if rogered by a vigorous young man: While life is in her body she is capable of enjoyment. Therefore if she has money, she may be stroked till the day of her death; and what death can be more sweet than that of a whore who dies while she is spending?

  CLARA ALCOCK:

HER INITIATION IN THE WAYS OF LOVE AND FULL ENJOYMENT OF ITS SWEETS

CLARA’S ENLIGHTENMENT, RELATED BY LORD FERRARS

Our party consisted of myself, Queenie; my husband, Dr Harpur, better known as Dick; our young friend Miss Jemima Bond, commonly called Jim: and our guest Lord Ferrars, accompanied by Miss Frances Gipton, who although occupying the position of his mistress made herself so generally pleasant and agreeable that she was esteemed a favourite by us all.

Time did not hang heavy on our hands, for one had plenty of occupation, my husband with his professional duties, Lord Ferrars with his yacht, I with household cares, and our two young ladies with gardening and various kinds of ornamental work.

Pleasure however was the great object of our pursuit, and we neglected no means by which it might be obtained and secured; for instance, we all had our own bedrooms, but it was understood that every door was to be left open at night and every bed free to each individual of the party.

The consequence of this arrangement was that a large portion of every night was pleasantly passed in a friendly interchange of visits, leading to most delightful reciprocity of sexual excitation, followed by multiform embraces, either in couples, or more frequently, all together.

During the day we had to be more cautions and circumspect, yet a day seldom passed without some of that sly petting and feeling of the secret parts of each other, which is as pleasant to the one who gives as to the one who receives the attention.

In short, our house was a true Liberty Hall, everybody did as they pleased but then, the ruling desire of each was to gratify the rest. Accordingly happiness prevailed and mutual enjoyment was the order of the day. My good husband not only accorded me the most unbounded freedom but actually took special delight in assisting me to obtain the highest pleasure in the arms of others. Indeed his favourite position was lying with his prick soaking in the cunt of either Frances or Jim, while with his hands he held and directed the prick of Lord Ferrars in the act of prodding my cunt. As I lay at his side with my bottom turned up for the satisfaction of his friend, and within easy reach of my husband’s fond inspection and pleasing titillation.

I confess that, while I always enjoyed the entrance of Lord Ferrars’ experienced tool into my furrow of delight, I felt a pleasure far beyond the power of words to express when I know that my husband was not only looking approvingly, but doing all he could to urge on the fierce delight and deepen the penetration of his friend’s prick in his wife’s cunt.

Whenever I felt my husband’s hand pressing the borders of my throbbing recess, as he held Lord Ferrars’ prick and rubbed its head up and down between the lips, an unusual thrill was sure to pervade the entire region of love: and as soon as he had guided it to the sensitive entrance at the end of the slit, I used to give a sudden spring with my loins and at once engulf the luscious morsel: then as I felt it separating the clinging folds of my cunt and causing every nerve inside to tingle with approaching rapture, I could hardly refrain from shouting out with delight.

Sometimes, I would exclaim: ‘Oh dear Dick, that is delicious! I do so love to feel your hand on the lips of my cunt while his Lordship drives in his prick!’

Then Dick would change his hands, placing one under my bottom, and with the other grasping his Lordship’s cods all the time heaving away over his own fair partner who held him tightly clasped in her wanton arms. There we would cry alternately: ‘Oh my cunt! – Oh my bottom! – Fuck Lord Ferrars! Fuck Dick! – Fire away, Fred! – Shoot it in, Dick!’ until we were all bathed in that rich flood which alone brings relief.

A note was received about this time from Major Ormund, announcing that he was coming to pay us his promised visit and asking leave to bring with him a young Creole girl, named Myra, whom he described as being highly accomplished, pleasing in manner, and beautiful in person, while her temperament was lascivious beyond all description, so that he expected that both Lord Ferrars and my husband would have additional enjoyment.

The gentlemen were of course delighted, and we accordingly made no objection and sent the young lady a cordial invite.

Our friends soon afterwards made their appearance, and Myra quickly, won all our hearts by the freshness of her youth, the simplicity of her manner, and the genial warmth she manifested in all her actions.
>
The more inquisitive of our party speedily made themselves familiar with the beautiful roundness of her buttocks, the luxurious smoothness of her belly, and the marvellous beauty of her plump and rosy cleft.

After supper a general fucking scene was enacted, which Myra enlivened by declaring that she would not be satisfied unless her cunt was poked by each prick in succession.

We then reposed in a variety of attitudes, but with every cunt and prick open to view and ready for any amount of petting and manipulation: and all now agreed that this was the time when we could listen with special enjoyment to the promised continuation of Lord Ferrars’ interesting and very exciting narrative.

His Lordship readily complied, and having prepared himself by placing his hand on my cunt and inviting Jim to sit between his knees and play with his prick, he produced a manuscript and read as follows.

During one of my later visits to my Aunt, the wealthy and distinguished Colonel Alcock came to reside in our neighbourhood.

He had only one child, a blooming girl of fifteen, named Clara. Since her mother’s death about three years before, she had been at a first class boarding-school where she acquired many accomplishments and made some schoolgirl acquaintances with whom she still carried on a desultory correspondence.

Her father, considering that she was now sufficiently educated, had lately brought her home to take charge of his household and cheer him in his lonely life.
