The Complete Quake Series

by Chance, Jacob

“I took a test yesterday morning. Kyle was at work, and it said the results were the most accurate when you first wake up.” I bite on my bottom lip. “He doesn’t know yet. I’m scared to tell him.”

My eyes fill with tears even though I try to fight them off. “What if he doesn’t want this baby? We talked about having a family someday, but not yet. We’ve had to deal with so much already. I’m afraid this is too much too soon.” I wipe away the tear that rolls down my cheek.

Elle steps toward me and pulls me into her arms. “He’s not going to be upset. He loves you, and he’ll love this baby as soon as you tell him.” She pats my back, and I continue to cry out my worry. “But you need to tell him Janny.” I nod my head and step back.

I walk over to the mirror to clean the tears and makeup from my cheeks. When I’ve done as much as I can, I turn around to face Elle. “Thanks for being you. You always say what I need to hear.”

Elle rolls her eyes and grabs my hand. “Come on, there are hot, wet, half naked men on stage. I need some new spank bank material.”

The dancing guys on stage keep my mind off my impending conversation with Kyle. It’s only as we’re leaving the building and I see him standing on the sidewalk with Derek and Josh that the nerves hit me again. He always seems larger than life to me with his impressive height and broad shoulders. A large smile breaks out across his handsome face when he sees me. My stomach flutters from a combination of happiness and worry. I send a smile his way and hope he can’t see that something’s off. He’s relentless when he thinks I’m hiding something from him. I’m not ready for one hundred questions right now. I know I need to tell him and the sooner the better.

“Hey, baby.” He holds his hand out and when I take it he pulls me into his strong arms. I press my cheek against his chest and will myself not to cry. I want to break down and tell him I’m pregnant now. It’s so hard for me to keep something from him. Especially, something this life changing.

“Hi, I missed you.” I place my chin on his chest and look up into his whiskey colored eyes. “Can we go back to our room and enjoy some time to ourselves?”

“You know I like the sound of that.” He raises an eyebrow. “Did the guys in the show get you all worked up?”

I jokingly slap him on his chest. “No, my sexy fiancé has me worked up.”

We hold hands walking the two blocks back to the hotel and say our goodbyes to everyone. They’re all going to Magnum, the club across the street.

“It’s going to be fine.” Elle whispers in my ear as we hug. I nod my head as we pull apart.

“Have fun, but be safe. This isn’t Boston. Don’t leave with any strangers.” I give her a stern look, not that it will do any good. Elle does what Elle wants.

“Come on, baby. It’s time for me to get you alone.” Kyle wiggles his eyebrows at me and I laugh.

Once we’re alone in the elevator he presses me against the back wall and captures my lips with his. His tongue teases mine, and my fingers go to his thick hair.

The ride to the tenth floor passes much too fast, and before I know it, we’re about to enter our room. It’s time to confess - time to tell him our news, and I’m a nervous wreck. What if he’s not happy about it?

  Chapter Three

  Kyle

I unlock the door and enter first to make sure everything looks the way it did when we left earlier today. I’m always thinking of Janny’s safety. It’s something I can’t help. It’s an instinct from being a cop, and now I’m consumed with keeping her out of harm’s way. It doesn’t help that I almost lost her to Zack. Thank God, he’s not a concern anymore. If I knew he was still lurking about somewhere, I’d never get a moment’s peace. As it is, there are enough things for me to worry about, like what’s bothering Janny. I can tell something’s on her mind. One look at her face as she came out of the show tonight and I could tell she was off.

I close the door once Janny steps inside. Her hand in mine, I walk her over to the end of the bed. “Sit down.” My tone is light. I don’t want her to be nervous to tell me whatever’s on her mind. I just hope she’s not unhappy with us. Fuck. If she’s not ready to marry me, it’ll kill me, but I’ll deal.

I kneel in front of her. “What’s wrong, baby? I can tell something’s on your mind.” I rub her thighs with my palms and look into her cerulean blue eyes. “Whatever it is, it’s going to be okay.” I rake my teeth over my bottom lip and wait for her to speak.

She takes a deep breath and blows it out. “I’m pregnant,” she whispers. It takes a few seconds for what she said to register.

“You’re pregnant?” I question, hoping I heard her right.

She nods her head. “Yep, I am.”

I smile and jump to my feet. I grab Janny, spinning her around. When she lets out a squeal I quickly place her down. “Oh, shit baby, did I hurt you?” I gently hold her in my arms. “You just made me the happiest man in the world.”

Janny starts to sob, her body shaking in my arms. “I was so worried you wouldn’t be happy about this.” I run one hand down the length of her hair and the other caresses up and down her back. Her tears wet my neck, and I hate that she had herself so worked up about this. How could she think I’d be unhappy about our child growing inside her?

I pull back and hold her face in my hands. My thumbs caress the tops of her cheeks as I stare into her tear-filled eyes. “You need to stop crying. I can’t stand to see you so emotional about this.” I rake my hand through my hair and then caress her cheek with the back of my fingers. “I don’t know if this is hormones or if it’s from relief, but there’s no reason for these tears. I love you more than anything and now this baby, too. Every time I think my life with you can’t get any better you show me I’m wrong. I don’t know how I survived without you for all those years. I wasn’t living until you walked onto my screen.” She giggles and I smile.

“That’s not something you hear every day,” she says. She wipes her eyes and studies my face. “I can’t wait to marry you, Kyle McKenzie. You’re going to make all my dreams come true.”

I pull her to my chest and kiss the top of her head, breathing in her sweet scent. “Go get ready for bed, baby.”

Holding Janny in my arms every night never gets old. My life has changed so much in the past year, it’s hard to imagine the solitary existence I was leading before I met my girl. There’s so much to be grateful for and I don’t forget it. I never take a moment we share together for granted, knowing life can change in a split second. No one knows this more than I do.

My hand rests on her stomach. I can’t believe our child is already growing in there.

She’s cuddled up against the front of my body with her round little ass pressed against my cock and it’s a lot of temptation to resist. I don’t want this moment to be about anything, but the three of us. I want to savor the perfection of this time in our lives. She’s in my arms, our baby is growing inside her and as soon as I can I’m marrying her. I can’t wait until she’s Janny McKenzie. Mr. and Mrs. Kyle McKenzie - has a nice ring to it.

I caress her stomach and bury my face in her hair.

“You should get some sleep, baby. You’ve had a tough night and I want you to get enough rest for junior here.” I gently pat her flat stomach.

Janny turns over in my arms. “Junior, huh? What if we have a little princess?”

I kiss the tip of her nose and smile. “Then she’ll be perfect just like her mother.”

  Chapter Four

  Josh

Magnum is jammed up with people waiting to get in, but Derek knows a guy who knows a guy and as soon as he mentions his name they let us right inside. The music is so loud I can feel the bass thumping and the flashing lights take some time to get used to. We head to the bar and order drinks. It’s only seconds later that I have a beer in hand; I’m impressed at how fast the bartenders take care of the customers and keep the continuous line of people waiting to order, moving.

  I haven’t been to a club since t
he last time we were all at Quake, and if it wasn’t for Janny asking, I wouldn’t have gone there. I prefer quieter places where you can hold a conversation with someone and get to know them. Not that I’m great at getting to know people, but I’m working on it. When the girl you’ve been in love with for two years falls for someone else, it’s time to give up on that dream. I’m happy for Janny and Kyle, don’t get me wrong. They belong together. I can see that now. It just hurt like a motherfucker at first.

Lately, I’ve been suffering from a different kind of pain and her name is Elle Johnson. She’s a giant pain in my ass. My eyes trail down the long bar to seek her voluptuous form out. She’s about ten feet to the right of me, and of course she’s talking to some dude. I shake my head and take a pull from my beer. She’s like a magnet for douchebags and she can’t see it. She thinks because she doesn’t want more than sex from them it doesn’t matter, but she doesn’t know what they say about her after she casts them aside. She doesn’t know the reason my knuckles were split two weeks ago, is because I overheard one of her fuck buddies calling her easy pussy. I take another sip of my beer and smile when I think about how I laid that fucker out on the pavement in one of the student parking lots at school. Elle will never know what I did, because that would mean her finding out what he said. Knowing that would only hurt her. As much as we butt heads, I never really want to make her feel bad about herself. The barbs we sling at each other are just part of a twisted game we play.

Elle’s biggest complaint about me is that I’m boring and nice. Those two words are like the kiss of death for a guy. If she only knew the depravity of the thoughts I have about her. There’s nothing boring or nice about them. Visions of her on her knees in front of me deep throating my cock make me gulp down my beer. One of these days she’s going to see me for who I really am.

“Hi there.” A husky voice beside me has me turning my head. I find a tall, curvy blonde seated on the bar stool next to me. She smiles flirtatiously. “I’m Danielle. What’s your name, handsome?”

My eyes trace over her features and find her attractive, but she has blue eyes. The eyes I want to be staring into are the color of melted milk chocolate and are situated above a small, narrow nose. Her lips are lush and a deep pink color. At night when I can’t stop my brain from thinking about things it shouldn’t be - mainly Elle Johnson, I imagine her pussy lips are the same deep pink hue. I fantasize about slicking my tongue between them and biting on their softness until they’re swollen with her arousal. I think about doing filthy things to Elle. Some of them are things I’ve never done before, but I’d want to experience it all with her.

My cock is hard from thinking about her. I discreetly adjust it, but Danielle’s gaze drops to my lap. Her eyes go wide with surprise at the size of my hard on. Her fingers walk up my leg from my knee to mid-thigh. “I can help you with that.”

I stare at her hand on my leg, only inches from my throbbing dick, and I’m tempted to take her up on her offer. Maybe fucking someone else might take my mind off Elle.

The sound of Elle’s distinct giggle makes its way over to me. My gaze glides down the bar and finds her draped all over the same guy she was talking to earlier.

I catch Danielle’s fingers in mine and shake my head. “Sorry, but it’s not going to happen.” I drop her hand in her lap. When I slide off my stool, I lounge against the edge of the bar and study Elle.

She leans into him, her hand on his chest. The tips of her tits are almost touching him. I clench my teeth, knock back the rest of my beer and slam it down on the bar. I flag down the bartender and point to my bottle, signaling I want a refill. By the time my eyes trek back in her direction, she’s walking away from the bar and the guy’s focus is locked on her heart shaped ass. I can’t really blame him. I’ve fantasized about that ass a time or two myself. I can already see what’s going to happen. Elle’s going to want to bring this schmuck back to her room tonight. Fuck no. Not if I have anything to say about it.

I head in the direction she walked off and reach the hallway with the men’s and women’s bathrooms. I lean against the wall and wait. She’ll come out sooner or later. I pass the time by checking my emails on my phone.

I’m an artist and I’ve been commissioned to do some paintings for City Hall. It’s a huge opportunity for me. I received an email from a woman who’s in charge of decorating a new wing on the building. When we met in person, she seemed interested in more than just my paintings, but I would never mix business with pleasure. Elle would probably say that’s because I’m boring and too nice. She thinks I’m a fucking boy scout.

I slip my phone into my pocket as she exits the bathroom.

She scowls when she sees me. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m waiting for you. You’re not actually going to invite that guy back to your hotel room, are you?” I stand tall and wait for her answer.

Her eyes flash their anger up at me. “How is that any of your business?” She walks toward me and keeps coming until we’re standing toe to toe. “What do you care?” She pokes me in the chest with her long red nail. It pisses me off.

“Just because you’re happy living a boring, sexless existence, doesn’t mean the rest of us are.” She pokes me again. “Maybe I like a little spice in my life. Maybe I want some big, handsome guy to tie me up and fuck me hard.” She flips her hair and scrunches her nose at me like I’m something distasteful. “Not that you’d even know how to fuck someone hard. You probably only make love.” She rolls her eyes and turns her back to me.

Fuck no. I’m not letting her off that easy. I grip her wrist, spin her around and pull until she crashes into my chest. The softness of her large tits press against me as I slam my mouth down on hers. Jesus. Her hot mouth tastes sweeter than I ever imagined and her lips are soft and full under mine. The way she moans has me hard as a fucking rock. I grip her curvy hips and pull her pelvis into mine, then shove my leg between hers. She grinds on my thigh and I bite her bottom lip, tugging on it with my teeth. My hands slide up her back and twist themselves in her silky brown hair. I forcefully tug her head back as our tongues rub against each other. She needs to know I’m not some pushover. I like to fucking lead. I pull my mouth from hers and we both struggle to catch our breath. I release my grip on her hair. Her hand moves up to cover her lips like she can’t believe what just happened.

Fuck. That never should’ve happened. I wish it hadn’t because now I’m going to wonder what her warm, soft tongue would feel like on my cock.

“If you didn’t act like such a cold-hearted bitch, you’d know what it was like to make love. I'd take you back to my room and I'd show you.” I lean forward and grip her upper arms. “That’s what you do when you care about someone. But, you’re just a body I’d dip my wick in, because men don’t fall for women like you, Elle. You won’t let them, and I wouldn’t even bother trying. Instead, I'd fuck you like I hate you; over and over until you’d beg me to stop.” I let my hands fall away and take a step back. “That's what girls like you want, isn't it, Elle?"

I stare into her eyes and feel guilty for the stricken look I put there. I did what I had to do; I convince myself. Elle is her own worst enemy. She’s a man eater and I don’t plan on being her latest victim.

  Chapter Five

  Elle

What the hell just happened? My eyes lock on the back of Josh as he tears off. His shoulders are rolled forward, both his hands shoved in his front pockets. The dark purple material of his shirt a reflection of his artistic nature and love of color. I cup both my hands over my nose and press my fingertips to the inner corners of my eyes. Don’t cry. My lids fall shut. I take a deep breath and hold it in for a few seconds. Releasing the air, I let my shaky hands fall from my face and pull my shoulders back. I’m good at hiding all the hurt behind a smile and carefree attitude. This is no different. I shake my hair back off my shoulders and fake a smile. My party girl persona is back in place. It might be a little duller than usual, but I’m relieved I’ve regai
ned control of my emotions.

Who cares what Joshua Dawson thinks? He’s nothing to me. He never has been and never will be. I’ve only tolerated him for Janny’s sake, and now that he’s treated me so deplorably, I won’t even be doing that.

I return to my place at the bar next to Mark, the attorney from California. He hands me a shot of tequila and holds out a wedge of lime. I refuse to allow myself to think about how the color reminds me of Joshua’s bright green eyes. I wave off the piece of fruit. I don’t need him inside my head ruining this moment for me. I plan on getting my drink on, and I don’t plan on thinking about him for the rest of the night.

  * * *

He rolls the condom down his length and flips me over on my stomach. I don’t have a chance to get on my hands and knees before he’s thrusting inside me. He groans as he buries himself to the hilt. He wraps my hair around his hand, tighter and tighter until my head is pulled back. He slides out of me and then slams back in. He repeats this about ten times and then he groans out the name Christine. What the fuck?

He drops his head to my back and gasps for air. Is this guy serious? How is he out of breath? He only lasted a total of twenty seconds.

He pulls out of me and heads into the bathroom to dispose of the condom. By the time, he comes out, I’m ready for him to hit the road.

He stands beside the bed, still naked, and scratches his head. What a disappointment this night turned out to be.

He rubs his palm over his mouth. “I’m sorry for what happened.” He bends down and grabs his boxers from the brown carpet before putting them on. “I didn’t mean to call you my ex's name. It just slipped out.” I roll my eyes.
