He chuckled as he slipped inside the house and found three daughters. He moved to the brunette first and did to her as he did to her brothers and whispered, “Pride.” Then to the next, “Lust.” The third, “Envy.” Lastly, he made his way to the seventh child who was tucked away in her room resting. He leaned over the crib and grinned. He brought his hand down to the child and the moment he pointed his finger, the baby reached out and grabbed it. The Devil tried to scare her by revealing his horns and eyes but her only response was laughter. He studied her curiously before placing his finger on her forehead and whispering, “Gluttony.” He retreated from her smile rather quickly, rubbing the place her tiny fingers touched as he did so.
By the time they figured out what the Devil had done to their children, it was already too late. They could only sit back and watch as the sins slowly consumed them.
The Devil set into motion that day seven fates that would forever collide with his.
A new generation of Reapers has arrived.
First book in the series will be Sloth. The first book won’t be released until 2018 so I can work on a few standalones I’ve been dying to write, but believe me, you don’t want to miss this series!
Acknowledgements.
Shout out to those that have helped keep my spirits up while writing A Grim Awakening series.
My sister: for faithfully reading everything I write and loving my words from the very beginning.
Nikki: for reading that first book I ever written start to finish despite being someone who doesn’t read, and loving it and continuing to faithfully read everything I write and giving me helpful feedback. I’m glad I could show you the fun in reading!
Carol: for always helping me with my edits. I couldn’t have stumbled upon a better person in the book world to have been so helpful and honest from the very beginning!
Julia: for being that first reader to private message me just to let me know how much you loved the series. You made me so happy! I hope I don’t ever disappoint you with future books.
And to every reader that gave a new indie author like me a chance and dived into the series, I can’t thank you all enough and always love hearing from you guys, so feel free to at any time.
About The Author
Michelle is from a small town in Eastern Kentucky where opossums try to blend in with the cats on the porch and bears are likely to chase your pets—this is very true, it happened with her sister’s dog. Despite the extra needed protection for your pets, she loves the mountains she calls home. She has a man and twin girls who are the light of her life and the reason she’s slightly crazy.
As a kid, she was that cousin, that friend, that sister and daughter, the talker who could spin a tale and make-believe into any little thing so it was no surprise when she found love in reading, and figured all these characters inside her head needed an outlet. They wanted to be heard, so she wrote.
The voices keep growing faster than she gets the time to write.
The stories are never going to end. That’s perfectly okay, though. We never want to stop an adventure.
She writes and loves many different genres so sign up to her mailing list to keep updated on her releases!
