I watch as tears leak from her eyes. She blinks rapidly trying to push them out. I release my hold on her and quickly take her in my arms. She buries her face into my chest. “Shhhh, love. Don’t cry. I didn’t mean to make you cry. I never want to hurt you. Never,” I murmur in her ear, rubbing my hands up and down her back. Damn! This isn’t going how I thought it would. Now I’ve hurt the only person I’ve ever loved, that I will ever love.
Then I hear her voice, muffled by my chest. “Happy tears, Shane. They are happy tears.” She moves her head up and lays it on my shoulder, putting her arm around my waist. Her voice clearer now. “I’m scared. I won’t lie. I’ve had horrible encounters with men, Shane. You’re— You’re the first man who has ever cared for me or cared about me.” Her eyes look up at me, red and swollen. “I’m scared I’ll lose you. That you’ll wise up and leave me. I don’t think I could take that. You’ve become my best friend, my lover.” She sniffles. “And so much more.”
I stand, pulling her with me. I grip her arms and bend down to look at her face. “I get that, love. I do. I’ve never loved a woman before. I’ve never lived with a woman before. But I want to so badly with you. My girlfriend. My love.” I wipe the tears from her face. “Sometimes you have to take a chance on something or you’ll miss out. You’ll never know what could have been. Take that step, Allie. Take that step with me.”
Her smile starts slow but widens quickly. She wipes her face with the back of her hand and takes a deep breath. “Ok!” She says. Her eyes get bigger. “Move in with me. I’ll take that step for you, for us. I want to. I can’t imagine being without you either. I don’t want to be without you another minute.”
I kiss her roughly and she kisses me back with equal fever. I release her mouth and grab her, hugging tightly. She snuggles her face into my neck, breathing me in. “You’ve made me the luckiest man in the world, love. I’m so happy. You made the right decision, you’ll see!” Bending down, so I can look into her eyes, I am beaming. “I hope you’re happy. I only want happiness for you.”
She cups my face, her smile is huge and genuine. “I am happy, darling. Nervous, but I’m ready. So, can you move in today?” She giggles.
I let out the breath I had been holding and look at her in relief. “Seriously?” She nods sharply. “Consider it done! I don’t have that much in the little room over the tattoo parlor so it won’t take much for me to pack it up. Wanna help me after we are done at the hospital?” She nods again in excitement and folds into my arms. She is exactly where I want her to be and where I will keep her. In my arms and in my heart. Together forever.
Chapter Two
Around noon we went to the hospital with Cassie’s big bag in hand. I watched Allie love on those babies for about an hour. I could see what a wonderful mother she would be. Huh? Am I actually thinking about having kids with Allie? Hell, yes!
It was hard for me to get Allie to leave, but I wanted to get over to my apartment and get packed up. I was anxious to move in with her and having her all to myself. I know when she tells Jesse he will fight me on this. But, I don’t care. I love her, and I’m not letting her go. He’ll just have to suck it up and trust that I will take care of her. I mean, I can understand why he would want to protect her. He’s always protected her. Maybe he will think I’m moving in on his territory. He loves his sister so much, I understand. I hope he can let her go, let her live her life. I can protect her. I will protect her. I don’t want to lose Jesse as a friend. We’ve become really close since he and Cassie moved here. But, I have to take that chance.
My pickup truck was full to the brim, but we got everything in there. The furniture was already in my apartment when I moved here so it stayed. Thank God. Once I got all the ropes tightly secured, making sure nothing will fall out, we head over to our place. Our place. Fuck that sounds good.
It took over two hours of packing, moving and unpacking, but by early evening, we finally got it done. Damn, I’m exhausted! Not too tired to kiss on my love’s neck though. We’re sitting on the couch, her luscious body there just waiting for me to take. I put my hand on her breast kneading and squeezing her nipples hardening with my touch.
“Ugh, Shane, aren’t you tired at all?” She says as I push her down on the couch.
“Don’t worry, love (kiss). I’ll do all the work (kiss). You just lay there and enjoy (kiss).” I tell her as I work her body over with my mouth and hands. She moans as I slide my hand down her pants, cupping her wet pussy, her body squirming beneath me. I lift up her shirt and bite one of her nipples through her bra, causing her to arch her back. Her hand’s digging into the couch cushion. Perfect!
I pull her bra down, freeing her breasts. Finally! Kissing her breast all over, I suck a pink nipple into my mouth. “I can’t get enough of you, love. I need more,” I whisper to her ample breast.
I remove her clothing quickly and proceed to get myself undressed. I love how she watches me, her eyes half closed and full of desire. She’s so fucking perfect. So I give her a show. I take my cock in hand, stroking from base to top until it becomes so hard it’s painful. But it’s worth it, watching her lick her lips, seeing how ready she is for me.
I’m on top of her in an instant, pushing my swelled and hardened cock into her quickly. So wet for me, her juices dripping. Fuck that feels so good. “I can’t go slowly, my love. Not this time. I need you so bad,” I pant. I drive in and out of her with such force, I can feel the couch moving. “God, you feel so good. You’re all I need, Allie, you’re all I crave and desire.” Sliding my hand down her body to where we are joined, she yells out as my thumb rubs her sensitive and swollen clit. “Come on, love. Cum for me. Let it carry you away.”
And that was all it took. Her body quivers with the intenseness of her climax, her muscle’s clamp around my cock, urging it on. I am soon to follow, my own crest reached. I yell out her name, my body shuddering with the release of my sperm invading her. I collapse on her, both of us panting and breathing rapidly, our bodies sweaty. I move some of my weight off her, so I don’t crush her beautiful body and I wrap her in my arms. Lifting my head, I look into her eyes and can see the love blooming in them. “Sorry, love. I didn’t mean to land on you so hard. Are you ok?” I ask as I brush some of her gorgeous hair away from her face.
She runs her hand over my chest, tweaking one of my nipples. Fuck that’s turning me on again. My cock perks up and starts getting ready. Down boy! I can tell she is trying to compose herself. Taking a few deep breaths, she smiles up at me. “I am beyond perfect. I don’t think I have ever had such an intense orgasm before. You’re amazing.” She kisses my perky nipple and lays her cheek there. Shit! That’s not helping.
I commence rubbing her arm up and down as I kiss the top of her head. “Oh, you have no idea what you did to me. You. Are. Incredible.” I look down at my love, her eyes looking up into mine. I smirk, “I think we broke in our living together rather nicely, don’t you.” We both laugh.

We cleaned each other in the shower, taking our time to get to know each other’s bodies even better. What a way to start our new life together. I hope this feeling lasts forever.
It’s about six o’clock and Shane left to go to the tattoo shop to get set up for his work day tomorrow. I’m using this quiet time to write some more of my romance novel and converse with some of my friends on my author page. I’m having a hard time concentrating though. My thoughts keep going back to our love making. I shake my head from my thoughts. I need to get some work done.
I love getting to know the people on my page. I have 1,000 likes now and am trying to get more involved in other author’s and blogger’s giveaways by donating gift cards until I publish my book and can then donate them.
Three hours of writing go by until my concentration is interrupted by the ringing of my cell phone. Without looking at the number I answer, “Hello?”
“My love. I miss you,” Shane’s sexy voice says in my ear. My smile spreads wide, and I sigh
. “How about I stop by that Mexican Restaurant we like so much and get some food to bring home. Then I will have my wicked way with you again.” My body reacts to that, and I squirm in my seat, trying to get some friction.
“That.” I clear my voice. “Ahem, that would be great, darling. I’ll just take my usual.” I hear him laughing at me and can tell he’s trying to hide it.
“Be there as fast as my truck can take me.” And with that, the lines goes dead.
I am lost in my thoughts as we eat our delicious food sitting at my dining table. It seems so weird having Shane here, knowing he will be living here with me. I’m beginning to love the idea more and more but am still scared something will ruin this. It normally does. I’m nervous but excited at the same time. I want this! And I want him so much.
After we eat, Shane offers to clear the table and clean up, pushing me to go and make myself comfortable in the living room. So, I do. By the time he is done I am half asleep on the couch. I am exhausted from the move and all the sex in one day. Will it be like this all the time? I can only hope! I’ve never ever had that much activity before and hope I can hold up.
I can barely feel him lifting my body, and I immediately lay my head on his shoulder. I feel like dead weight, I’m so tired. I’m dozing as I feel the soft sheets underneath me and my clothing being taken off. I’m pulled into his strong arms, my arm being moved around his waist, my favorite position. I sigh and go to sleep.
The next morning I stretch when I wake up, and my muscles are sore from our activities yesterday. A good sore though, in all the right places. I roll over and feel around for Shane but his side is empty. My hand hits a piece of paper on his pillow. Taking the note I roll onto my back and read.
My Love. I hated to wake you this morning. You looked so beautiful in your slumber, so peaceful. I think I wore you out. ☺ I will return to you soon, and will pamper and spoil you.
You deserve it.
All my love,
Yours, Shane
Smiling I get up my body protesting, and I place his note on my night stand. I get into the shower, and the hot water felt so good. I stayed in there until I was pruned by the time I got out. After doing my daily bathroom duties I go into the kitchen and make coffee. I have a latte maker, so I make my favorite mocha latte. I am sitting at the kitchen table when I get a call.
“Girl, you have got to hear this!” Lana says excitedly. “I have about 20 other book blogs standing by to do a book tour for your book and 17 more for your cover reveal! Seriously, it will be awesome and bring a lot of attention to you and your book. How long until you have it finished?” She says in one big breath.
I think I’m in shock. My mind has gone wild with thoughts crowding each other. This girl amazes me with her promoting capabilities. Shit! I hope my book doesn’t disappoint her and my readers. Ugh, now I’m scared shitless.
“Allie? Allie? Allie!” Lana starts screaming in my ear.
“Lana, wow! Talk about shocking the shit outta me. I’m— I don’t know what to say.” I can’t hardly talk. She is laughing, loudly, in my ear.
“Just tell me when you’ll be done, girl. No pressure!” She snickers. “Look, don’t answer now. I’m headed your way and will be there in about 5 minutes. Have a latte waiting for me. Cya then.” She hangs up.
Oh, my God! I am only a little over half way done in my book. I guess I need to get the lead out and get it done. I’m at a loss for any words right now as I sit here in shock. I rattle my brain to get out of my stupor. I finish my coffee and clean up the kitchen. When I get stressed, I clean. And right now, I am fucking stressed out!
She wasn’t lying when she said she would be here in 5 minutes, as that is how long it took for my doorbell to chime. I open the door and almost fall over as Lana throws herself at me, hugging me with intensity. She lets me go, grabs my hand and pulls me into the kitchen. We sit at the table and she proceeds to tell me, with much excitement, of all the contacts she has made with other book blogs on Facebook and how she is setting everything up to host a tour for my book and a cover reveal.
“Ahem, well, I should have it done in about a week, if I really apply myself,” I tell her.
“Apply, Apply, Apply!!!! Seriously, this will really get your book out there and noticed! I hate putting pressure on you but this is a must!” She is barely containing herself.
I giggle and then look at her seriously. “Shane moved in with me!” I squeal. She jumps up and almost tackles me in my chair. She squeezes me so tight I can barely breathe. “Lana. Lana.” I choke out. “Can’t breathe here.” Ok, I knew I was going to get a big reaction, but Holy Shit! She just about choked me to death.
She lets me go and runs back over to her chair, sitting down with a thud. “Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Allie, that’s so exciting!” She stops herself, cocks her head and stares. “Wait a minute. What happened to ‘I’ll never have a serious relationship’ or ‘It’s not in the cards for me’. Shit?” She mimics. “Not, that I’m not happy for you but I thought you would never give in to trying a relationship again. Not after what all you’ve told me that’s happened to you in the past.”
I sigh and look down at my entwined hands that I am now wringing. When I look back up, I see the concern on her face. “I know, but Shane’s so good to me. He treats me so good and spoils me. I won’t ever find anyone if I don’t let go and try.” I shrug. “So, I’m turning over a new leaf.” I look around, not sure who I thought I would find and turn back to her. “I love him, Lana.”
My ears are ringing as her high pitched squeal echoes in the room. She is bouncing up and down in her chair, clapping her hands. She stops and gets serious again. “Have you told Jesse yet? I know he really likes Shane but I also know he’s really protective of you and has had to battle all the losers who treated you badly before. Not sayin’ that Shane will but—” She trails off.
I shake my head. “No, but I am going over there tonight to cook dinner for Jesse and have some alone time. Cassie insisted that we have brother-sister time before the twins come home tomorrow and all hell breaks out in their lives. So, I plan on telling him then while plying him with some wonderful homemade Lasagna.” I smile and shrug my shoulders while Lana laughs. Shit, I hope that works.
We talk half the day away about my new living arrangement. She embarrasses me when we talk about our sex life, but what are best friends for? Then we talk about my book and getting everything set up to promote. Shit, I have a lot of work to do.
Later that evening I go over to Jesse’s to get cooking. I wanted to have everything ready by the time Jesse got back from visiting his family at the hospital. I had told Shane earlier of my plans and he said he would grab a bite to eat while at the shop. He said he had a ton of people to do tattoos for that would take him into the evening anyway. Of course, it wasn’t a short conversation as my sexy man had to get me all worked up over the phone with promises of what he would do to my body later.
Jesse got home around 5:00 looking exhausted but happy. He monopolized the conversation with Cassie and the twins, but that was fine with me. I loved hearing about them and seeing Jesse so happy. The more he talked the more time went by that I didn’t have to tell him my news. He’s so gonna freak!
“So, Sis,” he says as I place his coffee in front of him. “I’ve been talking nonstop, I’m sorry. What’s going on with you? I feel like I’ve been so out of it since Cassie went into labor. How’s the book coming?” He takes a sip of his coffee and then gives me his full attention.
Here goes nothing. “Well, actually, I do have some news. Promise you’ll stay calm and hear me out first, ok? Promise?” I plead. He nods slowly but surely, and I see him settle in his seat crossing his arms. “You know Shane and I have been seeing each other since we met and spend almost every day together.” He nods again. “Jesse. Shane moved in with me yesterday.” I close my eyes and say a silent prayer.
“WHAT?” He yells. I peek with one eye and cringe. “Sorry, I mean what?” He tries again, lo
wering his voice. “Allie, you haven’t known each other that long. You’ve had major bad experiences with men and I’m sorry but your track record isn’t that good but I don’t have to tell you that, right? It’s not that I want you to spend the rest of your life alone or anything but—” His look turns serious yet full of worry. “Are you sure about this?”
“Well—” Is all I can get out.
“Don’t get me wrong, I really like Shane. Hell, he’s become one of my best buddies, but Allie. Really? Isn’t it going a little too fast for you?” He says as he rubs his hand down his face and sighs. He then takes my hand in both of his. “I just don’t want to see you get hurt again, Sis. I love you too much.”
I place my free hand over his, giving it a pat. “Jesse, you’re so sweet. I love you too, but I’ve fallen in love with Shane. I’m good, we’re good. Trust him and me to know what we’re doing. You know after everything that’s happened to me, I don’t give my heart away very easily anymore.” I look at him seriously, sitting up straight. “I’ve given my heart to him, Jesse. I love him.”
His face softens. “Come here,” he says opening his arms to me. I walk over to him and fold into his loving arms. “I’m happy for you, Sis. Just be careful with that heart of yours. Sometimes you trust too easily.” We release our hug, and I sit back down with a huge smile on my face. “You know all I want is the best for you.” He gets comfortable in his chair. “I have to say, out of all the guys I’ve had to beat up for you,” he smirks, “let’s just hope I don’t have to go after my best bud. But, seriously, Shane is the best guy you’ve ever had in your life. Well, besides me.” We laugh.
We ended up talking for hours until I start yawning. Our night ends with kisses and hugs at his door, me promising to be careful and him promising not to beat the shit out of Shane. For now.
