The dragon still seemed groggy and was ignoring Harper as she backed carefully away. Then she heard a tremendous noise as something came crashing through the undergrowth between the trees, and she turned around to see.

  “Vrax'ton! Don't kill him!”

The barbarian came running through the woods with his axe ready and murder in his red-glowing eyes. He was clearly aiming for the dragon, but when he saw Harper and heard her yelling, he slowed down to a fast, threatening walk. “Is firebird. Will kill Harper and Vrax'ton unless it killed first.”

Harper placed a hand on his arm. “I don't think so. He's injured, look.”

One of the dragon's wings was clearly hanging limply down along its side, and dark blood was dripping down on the ground. The impact with the tree must have broken it.

Vrax'ton placed himself between Harper and the dragon, and the protective move warmed her heart. But she had to keep him from killing the dragon. She took as step towards it, realizing that the berries were making her bold where she would otherwise have been running through the woods in a panic, trying to escape.

Vrax'ton frowned and grabbed her arm. “Everything on Bosh dangerous. Firebirds most dangerous.”

She looked into his eyes. “It's just that I think we need as many friends as we can get here. Let me see if I can do something for that guy. But yeah, totally kill him if he misbehaves.”

She took a step towards the dragon. It raised its head and glared at her with its intense eyes.

“It's okay,” Harper said and moved slowly, putting her trowel back in her belt. “I'll just take a look at that wound.”

She was pretty sure the dragon didn't know what she was saying, but she also hoped it wouldn't misunderstand her intentions. She got the med pack out from her pocket and held it out to show, then pointed to the dragon's wing. “See, I'll just rinse that wound and help it heal faster.”

She knew she was gambling on the dragon being more intelligent that an average lizard, but it did have a sentient look in its eyes, not unlike the orangutan she had seen in a zoo back on Earth once.

The dragon pulled its head back, as if afraid of what she might do. She glanced behind her. Vrax'ton was as tense as a bowstring, and he held his axe back, ready to fling it at the dragon's head if it tried anything.

One part of Harper's brain was screaming at her to get away, but another part told her to try to make an ally out of this being. It was her intuition, she reflected while she got closer to the dragon and felt its slightly sulfuric scent. She had never been good at trusting her intuition, always acting in ways that were rational instead of listening to her gut. But this time her gut was yelling so loud she couldn't ignore it.

The dragon let her get close and stared at her with unblinking eyes. But it didn't recoil when she showed it the disinfectant nanogel and got some of it onto her hand. She raised her eyebrows quizzically as if asking for permission, and when the dragon didn't react, she gently smeared some of the high-tech all-purpose medgel onto the bleeding wound.

She braced herself. For humans and Earth animals, it wouldn't hurt. But for this alien dragon thing, it might be different.

But the dragon didn't seem to mind it, just angled its head and peered at the wound in its wing.

Harper cast a glance over her shoulder. Vrax'ton was still ready and as tense as ever. Probably just as well.

The nanogel did its thing and turned from clear to a clean, transparent blue to show that the disinfection was complete and that the healing process would begin, so that she could cover the wound.

“Okay,” Harper said softly and pointed. “That's a good sign. Now I'll just put this on ...”

She got a space-age bandage from the med pack and placed it on the gash, where the bleeding had stopped and the dragon's blood was being absorbed by the gel. The bandage felt the contact with the living tissue and expanded by itself to cover the injury, becoming an integral part of the dragon's skin until the injury was healed and it would fall off by itself.

Harper got to her feet. “That should do it. Don't try to fly for a while. I know the pain is gone, but this will take a day or so to heal.”

The dragon looked at the injury and back at Harper. Vrax'ton drew the axe back a little more in tense readiness.

Three heartbeats went by, and then the dragon slowly curled up on the ground and laid its head down.

Vrax'ton lowered his axe and Harper smiled. “I think maybe we've found a friend. Or made a neutral out of an enemy, at least.”

Vrax'ton frowned. “Harper can never trust firebird. Very dangerous alien monster.”

“Just like I'm an alien to you and you to me. Except we're much more now. Right?” She put her hand on his bulging chest and looked innocently up at him. She was feeling unstoppable. Shit, if she could sell those berries on Earth, she'd be an instant billionaire.

He smirked back. “Vrax'ton hope Harper right. More plans for deadly alien monster?”

Harper looked around. “Where is everyone? We have just been standing still in the jungle for a long time now. I'd expect that we'd be killed by twenty different animals and stung and eaten by twice as many insects by now.”

Vrax'ton put his axe back in his belt. “Firebird scares other creatures away. Nearest animal a thousand paces distant at this time.”

Harper raised her eyebrows. That she hadn't expected, but it made sense. “Are you saying our journey just got a lot easier and safer?”

Vrax'ton glared at the dragon. “Or much more dangerous. Firebird not trick Vrax'ton like trick Harper. Is still deadly alien monster. Still, must continue on travels now. Fire comes.” He brightened. “But Vrax'ton sensationally happy to see Harper again.” He came in close and embraced her, hard and tight.

She pressed herself into him and breathed in deep, trying to drown in his manly scent. She felt sudden heat running down to her girly bits, and the tension melted off her and was converted to liquid heat down below. “You came to save me,” she whispered. “Even if you knew it was a firebird.”

“Nothing stop Vrax'ton from rescue Harper,” he said into her hair, and she felt his hardness poking her. “Certainly not little firebird like that. Vrax'ton's heart burst when hear Harper yell from up in air. Vrax'ton thought Harper ...” He squeezed her harder.

“That you had lost me. I know. I felt the same loss.” Harper cupped her hand outside his pants and felt the hardness in there twitch. “Didn't I see an inviting clearing back there? With running water and everything?”

“Watering hole made by wily firebird to lure prey,” Vrax'ton growled. “Good trap. This firebird very crafty. Still, trap is now safe. Alien monster firebird is here and wounded.”

They left the firebird/dragon and made their way back to the clearing, meeting no animals and seeing no insects or birds on the way.

Vrax'ton stepped carefully out on the short grass and looked around as he walked around and across it, checking it before he'd allow Harper to enter. “Looks safe enough.”

Harper stepped out into the clearing and felt the sunshine on her skin. The temperature was perfect, and the air seemed fresh. “It's really nice.”

The water in the creek looked crystal clear and made inviting little tinkling noises. Vrax'ton bent down and studied it suspiciously, then poked the surface with a finger and finally plunged his hand in. “Vrax'ton deem it to be water.”

“Who'd a' thunk it,” Harper said as she kneeled beside the stream and drank some of the water from her cupped hand. “It's really clean. No taste at all.”

She splashed some water on her face, straightened and looked behind her. Vrax'ton's excitement was obvious. He was pitching a large tent in his pants. She itched to feel him inside her. “Do we have time for that? We do, right? I mean, it doesn't have to take that long ...”

He looked her up and down with lust in his eyes. “Sometimes warrior must make time for that which warrior desires. Morale strengthened when not always running without control.”

  Harper smile
d and quickly shed her jumpsuit while he dropped his pants and revealed his arousal.

Harper couldn't help shaking her head in awe. “You are crazy-gifted. I just want to try something.”

She got down on her knees and took the tip into her mouth. That outer part of it was pretty normal, as far as she could tell, but further in there were firm barbs to ensure a completed mating each time. And then the ridges and the bumps further in. She wet it with her tongue and then took in as much as she could, which turned out to not even be half his shaft because of the width.

She gently slid it out and kissed the tip again. “If we ever get off this planet, I'll practice. But now we should probably get down to business.”

She touched her pussy to check if she was ready. Yep. Totally. It was crazy the effect this intense planet and this alien were having on her. The grass was soft and Vrax'ton helped her lay down on her back. There was no reason to be coy, and she just spread her legs and pulled her knees back as far as she could. Vrax'ton got down between her legs and inserted his exotic rod without any ceremony. He was getting to know her body too, now, and probably realized that she was always ready when he was close.

He slid into her again and just started fucking her fast and hard, making her whimper in delight with each stroke. This time she didn't hold back and came on his thick cock after three strokes, shaking uncontrollably and moaning incoherently as the climax washed over her.

It was the most businesslike sex she'd ever had, but it was a physical need more than anything else, and she came so easily with this man that their mating was completely natural. As if they were made for each other. Especially for each other.

Harper stretched. She would have loved to just stay here on the grass, safe from all the perils in the jungle and feel the sun on her naked skin. And maybe do this again pretty much right away. “I guess we should get going.”

Vrax'ton kissed her lips and got to his feet, pulling on his pants. “Agreed. Only dangers with herlee berries – can make see things too calmly, not realize dangers. Fear sometimes smart. On Bosh, fear always smart.”

Harper got dressed. “Can we take a route that passes by the dragon? I'd love to check on him.”

Vrax'ton shrugged. “Will make journey some paces longer, but after what Harper and Vrax'ton just did, even mighty warrior has no right to protest.”

They walked fast to the edge of the jungle, and Harper took Vrax'ton's hand. “Me neither. But sometimes you should make the time for something you want, a wise man once said.”

Vrax'ton loosened his axe from his belt and smirked down at her. “Wise man very wise.”

They made their way over to the place among the trees where the dragon had fallen. The tree still had its claw marks on it, and the black blood had eaten its way a few inches down through the thick layer of burnt soil. But there was no sign of the dragon himself.

Harper looked carefully all around. “Damn, he's gone. Well, I guess we shouldn't expect a dragon to just stay put.”

“Got away from firebird alive,” Vrax'ton pointed out. “Much more than most can say.”

He pulled Harper along with him through the jungle. “But firebird scared away many dangers here. Harper and her wise man can walk faster if not so careful about where place feet.”

They walked much faster now that Vrax'ton didn't have to check for dangers. Harper was even starting to enjoy the walk, as if she was camping in some exotic country on Earth. The water and the sex had perked her up even further, and the herlee berries were obviously still doing something good to her mind. She was feeling downright good about being here in this jungle with that insanely hot barbarian alien. And he sure seemed to be fine with her being there, too. He kept looking back at her and smiling, and happy and excited butterflies took off in her stomach every time, as if she expected him to bend her over a bush and have his way with her again.

Which she absolutely wouldn't have minded. At all. Her pussy juiced just looking at that strong back and that cute, muscular butt.

Had she ever met a man remotely as good as this one? Did one even exist on Earth? He was so strong and confident and protective. She felt much safer with him than she probably should. The bravery she'd felt with the dragon wasn't just the berries, either – it was a kind of toughness that had rubbed off on her from the barbarian. He was so sure they'd be fine that it was hard to feel any differently.

They walked on for hours. The ground was mostly flat, except the occasional hillock that they hardly noticed with all the vegetation. And they hadn't seen any dangerous creatures, either.

“I guess he must have chased away the animals in a larger radius than we thought,” Harper said.

“Vrax'ton has other explanation,” the warrior grunted and chopped down a sapling in his way. “Harper and Vrax'ton now miles from where firebird was first encountered. Cannot be far away.”

  “You mean he's following us?”

“No herg seen for miles. Firebird will scare them too, but herg will only withdraw so far. In Vrax'ton's estimation, firebird is keeping up fine.”

Harper looked up. “He's keeping us company out of sight? That's good news, right? I mean, he's scaring away all kinds of stuff so we don't have to.”

Vrax'ton just grunted and kept walking fast. Harper started glancing up now and then to see if she could catch a glimpse of the dragon that was probably flying somewhere above them, over the canopy of the tree tops. She didn't know how long it would take for a dragon's wing bones to heal, and his had looked pretty broken, but she could only assume it was possible that he was in good enough shape to fly. Modern medicine sometimes seemed miraculous to her.

They came to the edge of the jungle, and in front of them there was a steep hill that looked like the start of a mountain range.

Vrax'ton stopped and scratched his head. “Vrax'ton not remember these mountains from time of warrior Trials. Must be different part of Bosh.”

Harper considered the hill. “That will probably slow us down. Do you think there's a way around it?”

The barbarian squeezed her hand. “Will not slow down much. But Fire will burn faster uphill and slower downhill when it gets here. Now climb up and get above jungle.”

They walked steeply uphill for a half hour. It got colder and there was more of a breeze in the air.

Harper turned and looked out over the jungle they had walked through. The many-colored trees made it look like an oversized meadow with millions of flowers in various colors. It just disappeared into the mist in the distance.

And there was the dragon, circling like a little red speck in the distance. Harper waved, but it didn't react and just continued circling. Still she grinned. She'd made one friend here, at least. “See, I had an idea. About how we might call for help. But we kind of need a forest to make it work. What if we wait here for a little while until the sun sets and then see what we can do?”

Vrax'ton looked at her with his intense eyes. “Depends on nature of Harper's idea,” he said.

  She told him.

  - Harper -

The sun was about to set and they sat down on the grassy hillside, close together. Harper casually placed her hand at Vrax'ton's crotch, and he raised his eyebrows with a mischievous smile.

“Harper wants to make time pass, Vrax'ton agrees,” he said and placed one hand on Harper's breast.

She sighed at the pleasant touch and the promises it bore. “See, that's what I was thinking. And this is pretty nice, with the sunset and the grass and the view.”

He peeled the jumpsuit off her shoulders and she wiggled out of it, feeling the grass against her bare butt. It made her feel more naked than she could remember, especially here on the hillside where the feeling of being outside was much stronger than down in the jungle, surrounded by trees.

Vrax'ton kissed her neck, one tender peck after the other down each side to her shoulders, holding her up with one strong hand and positioning her to his liking with the other. His soft touches sent
little packets of heat from her skin to her girly bits, and his warm breath on the skin just before his lips touched her prepared her and a little rush went down her spine with each one.

His lips climbed one breast, slowly and unhurriedly, but with great determination. He reached the top and Harper knew that the next one would be right on her nipple, and the thought itself made her hold her breath. He teased her then, and kissed a track around the most sensitive parts.

She got it. He was in charge here. She let her breath out again, and as if to reward her he placed the next tender kiss right on her nipple. She gasped as her highly strung flesh became a little star that sent hot little rays on all directions, but especially downwards.

He held her nipple between his teeth, and he felt the hot breath and the coolness from the place he had kissed. She just knew he would ... “Oh!”

He bit her nipple to the exact limit where delight bordered on pain, but not beyond it. Just enough to let her feel his insight about her female flesh. He wanted her to trust him, to let her know that this was not his first time. Not at all.

Harper's breath went fast, and she marveled that he could wring this level of arousal from her just by kissing her breast. The planet helped, of course, with its air thick with the pheromones of every being here, and now with the very earthly scent of her own horniness. Stars, she must be leaking like a sieve.

His mouth wandered over the the other peak and repeated the procedure there, first climbing, then teasing, then going right for the center while his hand gently massaged the first breast he had given attention to, just to let it know it wasn't forgotten. Harper was sure her skin had goosebumps pretty much everywhere.
