Finally, his fingers parted her lower lips and he licked across her tiny jewel. “Sweet as honey,” he murmured.
Rapturous delight shook her. He glanced up. “You like that.”
“Take me, please.”
“In time. When I’ve at least partially satisfied my hunger for you.” His tongue slid along her lower lips to her pussy opening and flicked inside. Her body arched and she moaned.
He kissed her lower lips, tasted, licked, and devoured her until she didn’t believe she could take any more. Her pussy was wet with her essence. She gulped for breath. “Take me, damn it.”
“I always like to please you.” Todd put her legs over his shoulders, placed his cock at her opening and surged in.
Sunn took deep breaths as he filled her pussy with his hard cock. Her pussy walls clamped around his dick.
“Damn, I should have gone slower. You’re very tight.”
“It’s all right. Just give me a moment.” She lay still, absorbing the rush of emotions spilling throughout her body. Hot pleasure coursed through her veins like molten lava. Her pulse beat furiously, and her pussy ached slightly from his rough entrance.
“I’m sorry, darlin’. When you yelled for me to take you, I lost my control. That’s why I’d been moving slowly. I didn’t want to take you too hard.”
“I’m all right.” Her hips gyrated under him. “Start moving, cowboy.”
Todd chuckled. “You are so demanding. I like it.” He pulled his cock almost out and then pushed back in slowly. Each time he sank deeper into her pussy, creating a sizzle of euphoria. Her hips rose and fell in rhythm with his movements.
He cupped a hand around her breast and pinched her nipple. The responding hum vibrated along her nerves.
His magnetic, compelling eyes held her gaze captive. “I love you, and I’ll make you believe me. When you do, Chandler and I will marry you.”
She shook her head. “This is just for fun, not serious.”
He thrust inside her again and held his cock against her womb. Shudders of delectable ecstasy flooded her system.
“Hell, for me it’s not just for fun. As I said, I love you, darlin’, and before I’m through you won’t forget me that easily.” He moved fast in and out of her pussy. His hand caressed her breast. Then he bent down and sucked on her nipple.
Sunn yelled out as orgasmic electricity shot up her spine and into her brain. Her body trembled and her pussy rippled around his hard cock.
Todd pushed one more time. His cock pulsed against her pussy walls. A smaller orgasm had her gasping for breath. Gratifying pleasure flooded her whole being. She wrapped her legs around his hips and held him tight as his heart pounded against her chest.
Taking hold of her chin, he kissed her deeply. “You aren’t getting away from me, not after this.” His teeth bit the edge of her lower lip. Then he slowly drew himself out of her embrace and rolled to the side. Perspiration made his muscled body shine in the sunlight. Todd reached out and took her hand in his.
It felt as though he’d closed his fingers around her heart.
She didn’t want to give in so easily. There was no doubt she still loved him and Chandler. Her doubt was whether they were serious about her. Sunn didn’t want to be rushed.
“You didn’t say anything to my comment.”
“I have doubts about your credibility.”
“Just wait. You’ll find out how serious Chandler and I are about marrying you.”
She glanced at her watch. “Dad will be worrying. We’d better ride back.”
“I’ll let you get away this time, but not the next. You’ll admit your feelings one of these days.”
“Humph.” Sunn reached for her clothes and dressed. Todd followed suit and soon they were riding toward the barn. “Your property is nice, very similar to ours. Well, I should say yours now.”
“Does it bother you that I bought your fathers’ ranch?”
“Better you than the others. And Mom and Dad Jeb and Andy will still have the ranch house and ten acres.”
Her father waved at them from the porch. Todd helped her off her horse. “Go change. Pearce will be here soon, and we’ll leave for Houston.”
She nodded and ran up the porch steps and into her father’s arms. “I’ll get ready and join you out here.”
Her father gave her a long look. “Are you OK?”
“Yes. See you in a few minutes.”
Sunn went into the bedroom she was using and stepped out on the patio. She hadn’t been a virgin, and yet she’d never experienced anything like what she’d felt with Todd. It pleased her and scared her. Now she was headed to Houston and Chandler would be there. How could she resist the only two men she’d ever loved?
When she was in law school, she’d been glad her interest in men was low. Wrapped up in her studies she seldom went out with friends. Once in a while she had gone on a movie date, but with no one serious. Her last love interest had been as a senior in high school. They’d gone to the same college and gradually drifted apart. No one had broken her heart until Todd and Chandler left her high and dry.
She stepped under the shower and let the warm water relax her. Then she dressed in black slacks, low heels, and a purple blouse.
Whether they liked it or not, she wasn’t going to fall into their arms and say she’d marry them. At least, she hoped she wouldn’t.
Chapter Six
Her dad and Todd were waiting for her when she came out with her small suitcase. Another tall man stood beside Todd.
“Sunn, this is my friend and a pilot, Dr. Pearce Gunnar. We’ll drive to Lann’s landing strip and head to Houston. Pearce has refilled the plane’s tanks and is ready for us.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Dr. Gunnar.”
“Call me Pearce.” He smiled at her. “I can see why Todd wanted to move here. Do you have any sisters?” Pearce asked with a twinkle in his eye.
“No sisters, but I have single, attractive lady friends.”
“I might have to visit Todd and Chandler and have a look around Saddlespurs. Chandler has been trying to convince me to move here and go into practice with him.”
“I think you’ve all gone crazy moving to a small town after living in Houston.”
When they got in Todd’s truck, Todd asked, “Would you like to live in Houston?” He helped her into the passenger side and her father and Pearce got in back.
“No. I had enough of the big city when I was there. This is my home.”
“See, we feel the same way.”
“But you weren’t raised here.”
“No, but the town was similar.”
Todd started the engine and drove around the outskirts of town to Lann’s ranch. Lann met them by the plane.
“Don’t worry about your home. We plan to get those men tonight. Word has gone out about all of you leaving for Houston. They won’t be able to resist hitting the ranches. We’ll have lots of men riding the boundaries of your property.”
“Thanks, Lann.” Todd shook his hand. “How do you like the hangar that’s being built? Is it big enough?”
“Definitely. It’s great.” Lann stepped back as they boarded. “See you all soon.” He waved and got in his truck to leave.
Todd checked Sunn and her dad’s seat belts. “I’m going to join Pearce in the cockpit. If you need anything, holler.”
Sunn glanced around the small jet. “This is your plane?”
“Yes, do you like it?”
“I never knew people who owned planes until Bern and then Lann moved here. It certainly comes in handy.”
“Sit back and relax. We’ll be in Houston in no time.”
He winked at her and left them.
After takeoff her dad put his seat back. “I didn’t sleep well last night. Wake me before landing.”
In a few minutes he was snoring softly. Sunn smiled and finally relaxed. She took out her e-reader and started to read the book she’d been trying to finish this past week, but dealing with all the unexpect
ed changes in her life she’d put it down. On her way to Houston she didn’t want to think about Todd and Chandler and how she was going to handle both of them. Hopefully her book would keep those thoughts away.

Her mom sat beside Dad Jeb’s bed. They both looked at the door as she walked in and ran to them. Mom wrapped Sunn in her arms.
“I’m so glad you all got here before he goes to surgery,” she whispered in Sunn’s ear.
“Todd’s plane made the trip much shorter. He’ll fly Dad home when he’s ready.”
Her mother looked behind her and stepped around to Todd. “I hope you don’t mind if I give you a big hug.” Sunn’s Mom hugged Todd before he could answer. Sunn saw him stiffen. Then her mother whispered something in his ear, and he hugged her back.
They’re all probably ganging up on me. Whatever made them decide I have to marry now? Probably because they’re planning to move away six months out of the year and don’t like leaving me alone.
Her father, Andy, kissed her Mom and hugged Jeb. “When do you get this over with?”
“The biopsy is scheduled for one. You got here just in time.” Jeb glanced around at all of them. “It’s good to see you. Dr. Larsson was in earlier and said he’d be back. I understand you”—he glanced at Todd—“and Dr. Larsson have plans for our daughter.”
“I hope you don’t mind, sir.”
“As long as she agrees and you treat her good, her mom and I will be happy. How about you, Andy, what do you think?”
“I agree. I’ve already given them my blessing, but Sunn hasn’t.”
Her mom came to her side. “That’s all right, baby. You be sure before you accept their proposal.”
All eyes were on Sunn. Overwhelmed by them and her father’s condition, she excused herself and ran out of the room and down the hall to the elevators.
* * * *
“I’ll take care of her.” Todd hurried after Sunn. He saw her step into the elevator and the doors closed. He watched the numbers. She got off on the ground floor.
She was probably headed to the coffee shop they’d passed while walking through the lobby. He took the next available elevator. As soon as it stopped, he got off and strode in that direction. She’d gotten a cup of coffee and sat in the very back.
He got coffee and a Danish for each of them. “Fancy meeting you here.” He sat across from her. “I thought something sweet might help.” He handed her a Danish.
“What would help is for you and Chandler to stop pushing yourselves on me.” She took a big bite of the pastry, but still frowned at him.
“We have to have your parents’ acceptance before we go ahead.”
“Go ahead with what?”
“We’ll court you, seduce you, or do whatever it takes to get you to say yes to our proposal.”
“How about no? Do you understand that word?”
“I’m afraid not. It isn’t in our vocabulary. We both work exceptionally hard to get what we really want.”
“You don’t want me. I’m a challenge, that’s all.”
Todd took a long sip of coffee. “Perhaps we felt that way once. As I’ve said before we were idiots. But we couldn’t forget you and no one replaced you. When we saw you as beautiful as a golden goddess at the wedding, we both knew we’d better not wait any longer to claim you or someone else would.”
“You’re late. I’ve already found a cowboy for me.”
“No, you haven’t. You’d never have responded to me as you did when we made love. In fact, you wouldn’t have let me make love to you. You are an honorable woman.”
“You didn’t stay around long enough to know me.”
“It didn’t take long. That’s why we ran. We knew you were the forever kind. Chandler was shy of a serious relationship after his divorce.”
“And your excuse?”
“I’ve never really loved anyone. It scared the hell out of me.”
“You didn’t care about any of your foster mothers?”
“I didn’t let myself. At any time or day you could be yanked up and placed somewhere else. I liked the teacher I spoke of, but love is new to me.”
Damn, I didn’t mean to tell her all that. I don’t want her pity. I want her to love me. But do I know how to love her and a family?
Sunn’s beautiful eyes stared at him. “I’m sorry. It must have been awful.”
Her words hit his sore spot. “You get used to it. I’m fine. It made me strong and determined not to depend on anyone else ever again. Why do you think I’ve worked so hard and so fast to build my businesses? I don’t have to worry about not being able to take care of myself.”
He swallowed the last of his coffee even though it was still quite warm. Then he stood and looked at her. “I’ll see you upstairs.”
“Damn, damn, damn,” he muttered under his voice as he took the elevator up. She’s right. I don’t know how to love and I might make a mess of it. It’s time for me to disappear for a while and decide if I can do this.
When the elevator stopped on the second floor, he got out and walked down to the basement where he found an unlocked door. He slipped out and disappeared into the crowd. He’d walk and think.
* * * *
Sunn watched Todd leave the café. She’d seen the hurt in his eyes. She hadn’t meant to do that. Later, she’d apologize. First, she’d let him cool off.
When she walked across the lobby, she saw Chandler at the elevator. He smiled when he spotted her.
“It’s good to see you. I was headed to your dad’s room to find out if you had arrived and how Jeb was doing.” Chandler glanced at his watch. “He’s probably in surgery now.”
Guilt swept over Sunn. She’d rushed off and forgot about her dad. How could she do that? The doors to the elevator opened and she hurried inside.
When the doors opened upstairs, she rushed down the hall leaving Chandler behind. The empty bed made her heart sink.
“Mom, I’m sorry. I didn’t think.”
Her mother seldom got angry with her, but she was now. “Your father went to surgery worried that he’d upset you.”
Andy put his arm around her. “Dad Jeb will be fine. You’re right, we need to quit pushing you and let whatever happens do so naturally.
“Hi, Chandler. You look puzzled. We’ve been strongly encouraging our daughter to consider marriage with you and Todd. She doesn’t appreciate the interference, and I can understand.”
“At least we know we have your blessing.” Chandler walked to Sunn’s side. “Where’s Todd? I wanted to speak with him.”
Sunn glanced around the room. “I don’t know. I thought he’d come back here. We had words. I’m afraid I hurt him.”
“I’ll contact him on his phone. See you all later.”
Chandler walked out and Sunn heard his footsteps going down the hall.
She sank into a chair by her mother. “When will we hear about Dad Jeb?”
Her mother shook her head. “I don’t know.” She sat slumped in the straight-back chair. Andy picked her up and carried her to the lounge chair. He sat and held her in his arms.
“He’ll be all right, honey. Put your head on my shoulder and sleep.”
Sunn saw the tenderness in her dad’s face. Mom had someone to hold her when her other husband wasn’t available. It wasn’t a bad lifestyle. Sunn wanted what her mom had, but she feared the two men offering might break her heart again.
* * * *
“What’s up? Why did you leave the hospital?” Chandler asked when Todd answered his phone.
“Sunn brought up some problems I need to consider.”
“You told her about being a foster child.”
“I did. Speaking with her I realized I don’t know how to love. What if my feelings are only lust and I want to leave again?”
“You are quite capable of caring for the right woman, and you know she’s the one we want.”
“I’m headed to the airport. I’ve talked with Pearce. He’ll take me home and com
e back to be ready to transport them whenever Jeb can travel. I need alone time. Take care of Sunn.”
“Todd, this isn’t necessary.”
“It is to me.” Todd clicked his phone off.
What a mess. I have a few patients to check, but afterward I’ll see how Sunn and her family are doing.
Chandler’s patients were doing well. He got through quickly. He took the elevator upstairs and stopped in the doorway to Jeb’s room. Sunn sat straight in a hard chair and stared out the window. Her mother had fallen asleep on Andy’s shoulder. He walked in careful not to wake her.
Andy nodded at Chandler. Chandler moved the one other chair in the room close to Sunn. She glanced at him but didn’t speak.
“Has there been any word about your dad?” Chandler whispered.
“Not yet.”
“Are you all right?” he asked and took hold of her hand.
“Not really. I upset my mother and hurt Todd.”
“Todd has some dark places. You happened to accidently step on one. Give him time. He wants to be sure he can love you like you deserve. And your mother will always forgive you. That’s what mothers do.”
An uncertain smile crossed her lovely face. “I hope you’re right. Are you the optimist in this threesome?”
“Probably, but I’d guess you are optimistic under usual circumstances. You said threesome. Does that mean you’re considering us?”
“I’d be interested in getting to know you both without any promises of a future.”
His jaw tensed at her words. He took a deep breath before answering. “We can get to know each other better, but in the end, Todd and I will still want marriage.”
“Todd may change his mind after he thinks more about commitment.”
“I hope not. I’m afraid you are his only hope of learning to love enough to have the family he deserves.”
“There you go, putting a heavy responsibility on me.”
“I’m not. I’m just being honest. You still need to do what is best for you.”
The phone rang, stopping their conversation. Sunn’s mom woke when Andy reached for the receiver.
