Halfway Between Worlds: Bloodline of the Pure

by S. B Terra

Last night I journeyed with the Dalura Brew during the full moon in the forest near Alora. I saw numerous snakes, large serpent like creatures, various living plants and strange, organic places. I also saw an octopus looking creature that was wearing a crown and was crawling up and around a giant stone structure. I intentionally journeyed back to the mystical forest that I visited during the previous full moon, it is beautiful and peaceful there and the creatures are strange and shy. I also briefly channeled a face; the background atmosphere of the encounter was staticky and it is unknown to me where it was. The being had narrow eyes and had a strange object on its head, I cautiously pulled out after a few seconds, perhaps next time I will try and make communication.

Today Myra killed seven people in battle, her best friend, Natalie, also died in battle. She has asked for me to take care of matters while she spends some time in Kyra’s old house in Alora to clear her mind, feel through her suffering and to come to terms with the letting go of her attachments. I have zero interest in politics, but someone must fight to stop ignorance from plaguing our world like that of the material worlds.

This morning I woke up with such joy and freedom, I have freed myself from the slavery of my mind and my inner regulations. I have broken the chains of my past as the past is merely an illusion of the mind and does not exist. I have become unchained to the thoughts, opinions and approval of others as the thoughts and opinions of others do not matter and do not have any real effect on the true self, only the mental illusions that you have turned into beliefs will have an effect, an effect on your ego and not on the true self. I have broken down my learnt, reinforced behaviors, reactions and beliefs and am no longer attached to my emotions but in command of them. I no longer think about the world, I feel the world, I have become primal, pure intention and will, selfless and connected to the present like never before.

Alice read a few excerpts from the diaries and then there was a knock on the front door, she then placed the book down onto the bed and walked out to see who it was, her session with Bella wasn’t until later in the afternoon.

“Hello, are you busy?” said Bella as Alice opened the front door.

“Hi, no, not really. Why, what’s up?”

“Okay, good, I want to show you something” said Bella, handing Alice a couple of transportation flasks.

  “Have your wand?”

  “Yep.”

“Okay, good, let’s go” said Bella, leading Alice downstairs.

“Where are we going?” asked Alice curiously as they made their way towards the Student Plaza.

“The Wild Lands” said Bella casually.

A chill ran through Alice as she stopped walking.

“The Wild Lands?” asked Alice, the thought of going back to the Wild Lands made her nervous.

“Yes, it’s fine, we have the whole area that we are going to reinforced and secured, we have been scouting the area for days, I’ve brought a teleportation staff linked to my house for you in case anything happens” said Bella, walking back over to where Alice had stopped.

“Okay” said Alice anxiously, letting out a deep breath.

“Be strong, the only way to free yourself of your fears is to face and to conquer them, you’ll be fine” said Bella, looking deep into Alice’s eyes.

Bella and Alice then walked down to the Student Plaza, transported through to the Magic Council and made their way up to the restricted transportation room.

There were four guards standing by the entrance, and as they approached the room, Alice recognized one of them, it was Todd Gill, the man that Alice had saved in Brajula.

“Hey, Alice, hey, Bella” said Todd in a cheerful tone.

  “Hi, Todd” said Alice.

“Heading back in, Bella?” he asked, curiously looking at Alice.

“Yes, I’m showing Alice the terylas, it’s a surprise” said Bella, smiling.

“Ah, great, not many people get to see them now days, enjoy, ladies” said Todd.

“Bye” said Alice as she followed Bella over to the T.P for the Wild Lands.

“What’s a teryla?” she asked curiously.

“You’ll see” said Bella, before disappearing through the flames.

Alice followed Bella through the T.P and appeared in the small, stone room in the Wild Lands, there were another two guards inside and the room now had a few tables and chairs inside.

The guards greeted Bella as they appeared, and then Alice followed Bella up the stairs and out the small, wooden door that Bella had made appear with her wand. There were six more members of the People’s Forces spread out around the trees nearby and guarding the entrance.

“This way” said Bella, heading in the opposite direction that they had come from last time during the raid.

Alice looked around admiring the trees as they walked, the forest looked different and much larger in the light.

There were small groups of guards each hundred meters or so as they continued through the forest, some of the guards giving Alice curious stares as they passed.

After walking for over thirty minutes through the Wild Lands, Alice noticed a small gathering of people through the trees ahead, and as they approached, she realized that they were close to a giant cliff overlooking a massive valley below.

There were about twenty people, half of them were spread out around the nearby trees keeping guard and the other half were sitting in silence, in the middle of the group were four men sitting still and facing each other with black scarfs wrapped around their heads, covering their faces.

“Welcome back, Bella, who do we have here?” asked a man with short, grey hair quietly as they approached the gathering, he looked to be in his fifties and had a long scar running down the left side of his face.

  “This is Alice” said Bella.

“Ah, your mentee? Lovely to meet you, Alice, my name is Torian. I heard about your disarmament of Farbius Doraz, very well done indeed” said the man, his voice was deep and whispery.

  “Nice to meet you, Torian.”

  “Anything yet?” asked Bella.

  “Not yet” replied Torian.

  “The terylas?”

“There are three now” replied Torian, smiling.

“Come, Alice” said Bella as she walked over towards the cliff.

There were tall trees along the edge of the cliff, blocking the gathering of people from outside view.

“What are those four people doing with the snarfs over their heads?” asked Alice quietly.

“Remote viewers, they are scanning the area looking for movement.”

Bella walked towards the cliff and stood behind one of the trees, as if hiding from something.

“Shh, come over here” she said, waving Alice over to the tree.

Alice walked over and stood next to Bella, and as she peaked around the tree and down into the valley, she was struck with amazement. There were three giant dinosaur looking birds walking along a small river at the bottom of the valley, they were each at least twenty meters long and had massive black and red wings.

  “Wow.”

“There aren’t too many of them left and they are extremely rare to see, so I had to come and get you to show you” said Bella, admiring the birds.

“They’re massive, there’s nothing like that in the material, maybe when the dinosaurs were around but I doubt there were any birds as big as these ones” said Alice in amazement.

“What are dinosaurs?” asked Bella with a confused look on her face.

  Alice laughed.

“Dinosaurs” Bella repeated in a funny tone, turning back to look at the birds.

“Dinosaurs were giant reptiles that dominated the Earth millions of years before humans.”

  “Ah, interesting” said Bella.

Bella and Alice watched the birds in silence for a few minutes, when suddenly one of the remote viewers spoke.

Bella quickly walked over to the group, looking down at the viewers.

  “Movement on the eastern slop
es, at least ten” said one of the viewers.

Almost instantly after the viewer had spoken, the viewer next to him tensed up and started shaking uncontrollably.

Bella and Torian looked at the viewer in shock, when suddenly the viewer who had just spoken reached out his arm and grabbed the man who was shaking on the shoulder, the man then seemed to relax and slowly stopped shaking.

“We need to move” said the same viewer.

  Bella looked at Alice.

“Time for you to go, grab this and tap it with your wand, there’s some food in the kitchen if you’re hungry. I’ll see you back at your apartment at five, if anything changes, I’ll let you know” said Bella, removing a small, blue teleportation staff from her robe and handing it to Alice.

“If you’re busy we can do it another day” said Alice nervously.

“We do shifts, someone will replace me this afternoon. I’ll see you soon, now go” said Bella seriously.

Alice grabbed the staff and tapped it with her wand, there was a crackling sound and a moment later she appeared in Bella’s garden.

Alice opened the front door of Bella’s house and walked inside, there was a container sitting on the kitchen bench and there was a large painting of an almost finished black and white mandala that was placed on the paint stand in front of the windows in the second room.

Alice walked over to the kitchen and opened the container, there was a bunch of small wraps inside, and as she helped herself to a wrap, she saw that today’s Terra Times was open on the other side of the bench.

Alice reached over and grabbed the Terra Times and started reading the page which Bella had apparently been reading.

  TYROR SYLAT’S TOMB DISCOVERED

Two people have been killed and two others are in critical condition after Tyror Sylat’s tomb was uncovered in the Marbor desert yesterday.

The tomb of the menacing king of Marbor, who ruled over six hundred years ago, is believed to have been bewitched with dark magic and riddled with booby traps throughout. There have been numerous books, writings and stories throughout the years pointing to the existence of the Tomb of Tyror but was mainly believed to have been a myth. According to historical writings on Sylat beliefs, it is believed that Tyror Sylat’s body was mummified with enchanted materials in hope that his family would eventually gain enough knowledge from their ‘gods’ to revive him, allowing his soul to enter back into his body.

Tyror Sylat was one of the cruelest kings in recorded history, spreading fear throughout the lands and demanding loyalty and obedience.

The sixty square meter tomb is believed to hold a vast amount of gold, treasures and personal belongings of the Sylat family and experts are currently working to neutralize the bewitchments on the entrance.

Yesterday’s discovery is exciting news for modern day explorers as such a significant discovery has not been found for over one hundred years.

After finishing her wrap, Alice placed the Terra Times back to where it was, she then walked over and went outside onto the balcony to see if Red was there, but there was no sign of him. Alice then made her way outside and down the street to Rose Garden, transporting through to the Magic Council and quickly stopping into the TMR in Terra before transporting back to the Student Village.

Alice walked into her apartment and made her way into the bedroom, picking up The Diaries of Lara Valeria off the bed and then relocating over to the couch in the living room.

Today a politician had the audacity to ask me that if perhaps my lack of experience in governance was hindering my ability to see complex issues with clarity, and if I thought if it was a good idea for a special council, which would include himself, to look after matters until Myra’s return. Little does he know that I am aware of his commercial interests in Lithara and that Myra has already placed him on a watchlist for secretly lobbying representatives of the council to get pro-commercial and self-beneficial bills passed for that region. I told the man that I was not attached to my own image and self-importance like he was, and that my decisions serve the goodness of the world and that of the people, not my own selfish interests, therefore my ‘clarity’ on seeing the bigger picture on complex issues would always be greater than a ‘special council’ with him on it. The man then slithered out of the room like a snake and hasn’t dared to look at me since. Myra is returning tomorrow, and he will be ridded from his position of authority. I hope that Myra lives long and well, and that I will not have to waste my time in dealing with such false, power hungry, contemptuous manifestations of ignorance.

Today Lardor Medelle was killed in a trap that was organized by Myra. His younger sister, Natara, has taken over the Medelle army and has sworn revenge. The Axaths have openly declared their support for our family, that makes me happy, their beliefs have always been similar in nature to ours.

I saw a mystic in Narz tonight who seemed to be truly selfless and unattached, it made me very happy to see her. She wasn’t regulated by learnt behaviors and habitual patterns and wasn’t seemingly unaware like most people are, she had command over herself in the present and wasn’t dragged away by the automatic responses of her attachments. Sometimes I wonder, do people ever ponder what is beneath the conditioned mind that regulates them? We are lucky that we now have an enlightened education system, and that the new souls of our world will understand clearly the intuitive path and the slavery and dangers that the analytical mind poses.

Alice placed the book down onto the couch as there was a knock on the front door, it was 4.30pm and she wasn’t expecting Bella until five.

“Hi, sorry I’m early, I came straight from the Wild Lands” said Bella as Alice opened the door.

“That’s fine, I’m just reading, come in.”

“What are you reading?” asked Bella as she walked inside and sat down on one of the kitchen stools.

“The Diaries of Lara Valeria, she’s quite interesting.”

“Ah, interesting, I’ve never read it before. How are your assessments coming along?”

“Good, I’ve finished three so far, I might start the next one tonight or tomorrow.”

“Great, if you keep up at that rate you’ll be finished in no time.”

“Is that man okay? The viewer in the Wild Lands?” asked Alice cautiously, it was quite distressing for her to see.

“Yes, he’s fine now” said Bella reassuringly.

  “What happened to him?”

“A group of enemy viewers sensed him and tried to trap him, when the viewer next to him grabbed him, it helped to bring him back. During times of war, viewers always travel in groups as a precaution, for exactly that reason.”

“You can get trapped while remote viewing?” asked Alice nervously, the thought made her feel slightly unsettled.

“If the enemy is powerful enough and if there are enough of them, yes. You need to exercise extreme precaution when journeying or viewing, especially in dangerous times.”

“I see. What happened after I left?” asked Alice.

“Not much, we relocated to a different area. We are gathering information for the moment, we don’t want to rush into anything incase Vordare is alive, if he is alive, then when we strike, we want to make sure he isn’t given a chance to escape.”

“I read the article this morning, two people in the forces are saying that they saw him during the attack?”

“Yes, they are convinced that they saw him. It’s nothing to worry about, even if he is alive, there’s nothing that they can do to change things, apart from trying to create fear through sporadic attacks every now and then, but we will hunt them down, pick them off and rid them from this world sooner or later” said Bella casually with a smile on her face.

Alice laughed at the casualness of Bella’s quite ruthless statement.

“I saw Larisha yesterday, I still have some chocolates if you want one, they’re great” said Alice.

“Well, look at you, getting out and about and seeing your new world, did you like it?”

It was beautiful, yeah, the castle was very impressive.”

“I like Larisha, it’s very peaceful” said Bella.

“Oh, and I stole a wrap from your house and saw the article on Tyror Sylat’s tomb. What was in the wraps? It was delicious.”

  Bella laughed.

“Soya wraps, and yes, big discovery. I knew one of the people that died finding the tomb.”

  “How did they die?”

“There was a curse on the entrance of the tomb that ate the flesh away from his face, it was a horrible way to die, I can’t imagine why anyone would ever create such a curse” said Bella, looking slightly mad.

  “That’s horrible” said Alice.

“Yeah, well, anyways, are you ready to start? Let’s do a revision session today, I want to make sure you have grasped everything we have gone over so far.”

“Yep, let’s do it. The magic shield was a little trickier to pick up than the others” said Alice as they walked out onto the balcony.

Bella and Alice went over all the spells that Alice had so far learnt and spent over two hours out on the balcony before going back inside.

“You’re doing very well, it’s only taken just over a week for you to get a good grounding, you’re on your way” said Bella, smiling at Alice.
