Sharing Mia Page 8

by Talia Echolls

"This place is absolutely perfect. I love it so much."

  "Then it's yours."

I smiled at them. At both of them. "It's ours."

I kissed them both, and then struggled to keep a smile off my face.

  "What?"

"Yeah, now you have to tell us."

"I was thinking of how it would be fun to christen every room of this house."

  EPILOGUE

THE CITY'S REAL ESTATE wasn't cheap, but I accepted the gift with gratitude and without feeling the need to even out the scales or like I owed them anything back.

They sure haven't acted that way. At all.

We spent a pleasurable hour or two on the couch, and now we’re in a loving heap in the living room. A beautiful pile of naked flesh. Jay nibbles my stomach, caressing my thighs as I run my fingers through his hair. Xavier snuggles up behind me.

I am so happy and at peace, I speak the words that have been thrumming through my body, filling my thoughts. "I love you."

No conditions, no extra words. Just those three. It seems only right.

I’ve been saying it to myself for so long that for a moment I think I’ve just spoken it inside my head, yet again.

But then I feel them both move against me, kissing the side of my face, my neck.

  “Mia, I love you.”

  “Always love you.”

And that’s what I was too blind to understand. They love me. They have loved me this entire time, and were going out of their way to show me that love in everything they did.

I say the words again to each of them and they say it back to me.

Six months ago, I didn't think my life could get any bigger. I didn't want it to. I felt afraid and alone.

Now? Now I feel like I can face anything, thanks to them.

The love that I finally allow myself to feel, both for myself and them, banishes the feelings of weakness and fear from me.

  I feel free.

  ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

WRITERS WALK THEIR own journey, but I am grateful that I have a supportive group to walk with.

Thank you to my Litterbox Writers—CW, DBS, LJM, NM aka BJ, and JH—for reading my stuff during our writing retreats. The endless squealing and “OMG” faces were priceless.

Thank you to the Indie Pub/RH/Polyamory community for your kind words, encouragement, and mutual support while I was in the writing cave.

Thank you to Yumoyori Wilson, Aspen Winters, and CJ Robertson who sprinted with me for a solid month to make sure that my story got out of my head and onto the page.

Endless gratitude to Sarah Bale for always being a sounding board and cheer squad. Your Sexting with St. Nick was most inspirational.

Forever grateful for my writing partner, Vivienne Hart, who selflessly copy edited and proofread this story for me at the eleventh hour to make sure this story would be as enjoyable as possible for my readers.

  About The Author

TALIA ECHOLLS SPENT most of her childhood reading books and then writing about the characters and their lives in her diary. It wasn’t until Talia was in college that she realized she could write fresh, new stories of her own.

When she’s not spritzing perfume or tending a bar, Talia writes sweet and sassy romances that are both awkward and full of heart. She loves cute animals, fun dance videos, and taking pictures of random graffiti art.

Mia and the City series continues with Loving Mia in Summer 2018.
