“Oh crap a bomb!” Danny screams as he runs out of the hospital as fast as he can.
Running through the door, he dives out as the hospital explodes along with all the secret experiments that were being done inside.
“Boy, a few seconds later and I would have died in a blaze of glory. The question is who could have planted that bomb? I’m starting to think Nicolai is trying to get rid of us, but why? Something smells very rotten in the air, but at least that blast should have taken that monster as well.” Danny says as his suspicions are raised even further about Nicolai’s true intentions.
He heads back into the bell tower while the hospital continues to burn down to the ground. Entering the bell tower, Danny heads straight for the bedroom where he left Maria lying. However, when he approaches the bedroom Maria is nowhere to be found.
“Maria where are you? Hmm… seems to be a big hole created here. Oh crap that monster might have gotten her already. Maria!” Danny yells her name after figuring she might be dead.
A scream is heard…
“Maria, is that you?” He asks in a high voice.
He runs towards the grand hallway where he sees Maria struggling to get to the dining room. Nemesis is giving chase to her until Danny shoots the creature.
“You again? I thought you were dead back in the hospital? Boy you’re sure are a persistent one!” He screams towards Nemesis.
“I gotta make sure I protect Maria and not let that monster get to her.” He says under his own voice.
Danny tries to grab one of his grenades, but Nemesis quickly grabs him with its tentacles and throws him to a desk with a couple of expensive vases. Danny has a tough time getting up and Nemesis focuses its attention to Maria who has locked herself in the Dining Room.
Nemesis begins trying to break the door down with its tentacles. The door is made out of hard cherry wood, so it doesn’t break easily. That gives Danny time to get up and continue to distract Nemesis. He throws a grenade at Nemesis and it has a decent effect on the creature causing it to kneel down.
Taking advantage of a downed Nemesis, Danny begins to unload on Nemesis dealing some good damage while he’s shooting.
Assault Rifle Ammo: 69%
Incendiary Grenades: 1
Nemesis gets back up to Danny’s surprise and runs towards him dealing a hard left hook causing him to go down. Nemesis tries to whip him with its tentacles, but he’s able to roll out of the way. He shoots Nemesis in the eyes blinding it and giving him time to recover.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
He continues to dodge Nemesis’s constant attacks, but begins to become exhausted and eventually slows down. He keeps shooting Nemesis for as long as possible until Nemesis grabs him with its tentacles and bashes him onto the floor three times. Despite the vial attack, Danny is still alive, if barely.
Condition: Danger
“Oooo Danny!” Nemesis screams.
The creature prepares to jump up and crush Danny with its heavy weight. Danny is still unconscious unable to defend itself. However, before Nemesis can finish him off though Maria pushes herself out of the Dining Room.
“You want him out, you gotta take me out! Come on big guy, kill me if you dare!” Maria shoots Nemesis with her shotgun taking its attention off Danny.
Danny is able to get up slowly as Nemesis begins to walk towards Maria.
Danny uses First Aid Spray
Condition: Fine
After healing himself he begins to shoot Nemesis again. Between the two they weaken Nemesis as it kneels down again. Danny uses his last incendiary grenade to finish off Nemesis.
Nemesis goes down and says its catchphrase before it hits the floor for good.
“Maria I’m glad you’re alive! If it wasn’t for you I don’t know where I would be.” Danny thanks Maria.
“Don’t… mention it…” Maria drops to the floor before she could finish her statement.
“Maria! Oh man, you fought so well. You’re a brave girl indeed, no wonder why Hybrid wants you out of the picture.” Danny says as he picks her up and carries her back to the bedroom.
Danny uses the DEVIL vaccine on Maria.
Five minutes later after the vaccine was applied, Maria begins to get up and speaks to Danny.
“I feel… better. Thanks Danny, I owe you one.” She thanks Danny.
“Don’t mention it hot stuff, besides you look sexy with those super small shorts and knee high boots. You sure you aren’t a model?” Danny says humorously.
“Don’t push it man! I’m happily married although I think you’re cute yourself. However, don’t ever try to flirt with me like that again.” Maria says sternly.
“No problem chula. I just think for a good looking girl your husband is lucky to have you. How are you feeling though?” Danny asks.
“I feel better than before. However, I’m becoming convinced that I have to go to Croatia to meet my husband.” Maria answers.
“Croatia? What is he doing out there?” Danny asks.
“Good question, I still don’t know the entire truth. I only know because I read his journal and he said ‘I shall expose Hybrid for who they really are’. I have to believe that’s where Hybrid’s HQ is located.” Maria answers.
“You would be correct and honestly I feel the same. Hybrid does have to be stopped. I might wear the Hybrid logo, but it’s not a life I’m proud of.” Danny replies.
“It’s not your fault Danny, trust me.” Maria says calmly.
“I know, but as long as I have this logo on me I’m part of their sick brigade. I can change your thinking, but I can’t change the public’s view.” Danny replies.
“Have you seen Nicolai, he saved me before I got to the tower.” She asks.
“I seen him in the hospital, but he’s starting to act weird. He’s starting to act secretive like he has something to hide. Not to mention when I lost track of him the hospital was rigged with a bomb. I don’t know, but I feel we might be on the hit list for Hybrid. I would urge caution if you bump into him.” Danny explains the situation about Nicolai.
“Just something else we have to worry about.” Maria says.
“He did say there would be a chopper on Highland Park waiting for us, but at this point I don’t know if it’s a trap or not.” Danny continues.
“To be honest, we have nowhere else to turn. It’s a chance we have to take, better than staying her getting bombed on.” Maria decides to follow the tip.
“Well then, I think it would be smart if we split up. We can cover more ground that way. I’m sure we’ll bump into each other soon. Also I found something for you.” Danny decides to split up.
Danny hands the grenades to Maria.
Standard Grenade Rounds: 14
“Ok, be careful and watch your back.” Maria replies.
“The same to you.” Danny says and then leaves the bedroom.

Maria’s Playthrough
Maria begins to walk and she feels able to walk normal again. She heads back to the room of Chronos and heads to the back. She notices the bell that was blocking the door is no longer there, so she heads out of the tower. When she gets back to the streets, she sees the hospital burning down after the explosion.
“That hospital didn’t even stay up for a year. Oh well, none of this will be around by tomorrow once Hybrid shoots their devilish missile. I don’t plan to be here when that happens. Besides I rather leave this place. I’ve lost too much, including George and I’m bound to lose my family. It sucks, but I’ll have to get used to life without anyone from my childhood. I’m almost worried of how Angel will take the news that he’ll have to start a whole new life entirely.” Maria says soberly realizing that tomorrow she’ll have to press the reset button on her life.
She heads towards the entrance of the park and sees a group of park employees who have turned into zombies. They’re wearing the official green NYC parks department uniform as all workers do.
The zombies get close to Maria and she
pulls out her shotgun. She blasts the majority of the zombies and one of them breaks in half due to the impact of the blast. The one remaining zombie that remains alive grabs her ready to bite her. She knees the zombie on its groin, the attack is powerful enough to cause the zombie to let go. When she gets away, she kills off the zombie with her shotgun with its legs popping off.
Shotgun Shells: 25
After killing the zombies she heads towards the entrance of the park and sees the gates are closed. To her is normal as the park gates are usually closed after 9 at night. However, unlike during her younger days, she is unable to climb the gate and into the park. She also sees that there is barbed wire above the gate and a keypad requiring a keycard to open the gate.
While it’s not a bad idea to keep the park secured to avoid gangs or other troublemakers from invading the area, the keypad is very complex and not something that is regular city equipment. Maria becomes suspicious that the keypad was manufactured by Hybrid and part of the park might be used by them.
“No way, there was never this much security here before. I got a sneaky feeling that Hybrid has the city of New York on their dirty fingertips. Besides barbed wire doesn’t belong in a place that’s supposed to be housing children. If I was a betting woman I would bet there’s a super secret facility in the park. I wouldn’t put anything past these guys anymore.” Maria comments on the keypad.
She tries to climb the gate to the side, but realizes that the park is barbed wire all around and it’s doubled stacked. Not wanting to risk cutting herself, she gets down and heads further down the block towards the local tabloid.
The local tabloid is known as the Cypress Hills Tribune and it lets the residents know the latest news in their town. However, around the time of the outbreak in East New York the Tribune was somehow avoiding giving too much information about Hybrid and its involvement. That would lead to many conspiracy theories that range from the Tribune being paid off to keep quiet to a secret sale of the newspaper tabloid to Hybrid Corp.
Regardless of what proves to be true, after tomorrow it won’t really matter after the missile hits Maria’s hometown. She enters the headquarters of the tabloid and finds a couple of Lizarda’s inside. One of the Lizardas wall jumps and tries to slash her, she is able to dodge the quick attack. The other Lizarda tries to run and cut off her head. Maria quickly spots a pipe and gets on avoiding the attack from the creature.
She gets back down and tries to shoot the creatures with her grenade launcher, but their dexterity is too great as they avoid the two grenades. Seeing the desks in the way, she is careful where she runs to avoid slipping. The Lizardas try to attack her again, but once again she’s able to avoid the attack. The creatures bump into one of the tables and with their backs turned, Maria shoots the creatures with a grenade round.
Standard Grenade Rounds: 11
Once she kills the creatures, she finds the light switch and the room is filled with much better lighting. Looking through the desks in the first floor she looks through the desk with nothing too useful. Eventually she bumps into a locked desk that she easily picks the lock to. After picking the desk, she looks inside.

There is nothing more on the first floor to explore as she sees a set of stairs to the 2nd floor. As she heads for the stairs she hears a loud scream eerily similar to that of Nemesis. Despite the scream she doesn’t risk going outside and stays on course heading upstairs. When she gets upstairs she sees three doors, one to the bathroom, one to the president’s office, and one to the General Manager’s office. Maria decides to head for the bathroom as she has to take a leak.
Upon entering the bathroom though, the condition is anything besides usable. The president of the Tribune is on the floor all bitten up by zombies. The bathroom is filled with blood and the rancid smell of the dead body. By look of the body, it looks like he was bitten all over leaving almost no skin. There is nothing else in the bathroom except for an item that catches her eye.
Picked up a First Aid Spray
She gets out of the bathroom and heads back to the 2nd floor hall. She attempts to enter the room to the president’s office, but it’s locked. Attempting to pick the lock, the lock is slightly more complex that she thinks and she gives up.
Lockpicking Level 6 Required
She enters the room for the General Manager and looks inside with her pistol drawn. However, the room is clear and she begins to explore. On the desk she finds some shotgun shells.
Picked up +6 Shotgun Shells. Shotgun Ammo: 31
She picks the lock to the General Manager’s desk and finds a few papers stapled together.
Lockpicking skill improved to Level 6!
“Hmm… this looks interesting. Might give me an idea about what the hell is going on around here.” Maria says as she prepares to read. When she sees the name on the top of the paper she is in shock and says, “What?”
George T. Fisher’s Report
The outbreak was such a tragic event for this neighborhood, although it happened on the other side of our town. However, for me the bigger tragedy is that the president of the tabloid asked me to not disclose or plan anymore stories about the outbreak besides what people already know.
This makes me sick to my stomach! So I’m being paid to keep shut and lie to the damn public about what’s going on. So in otherwords, I wasn’t allowed to tell the public what really happened. I was forced to say that this was an “Isolated” incident. I was instructed to say that there was no clear and present danger to our town. The public was forced to believe that wall was put up as a “precaution”, well, precaution my ass!
That was because Hybrid was experimenting in the underground laboratory and their experiment went haywire. I’m a firm believer that Hybrid chose our location to test their experiments on live people and Hybrid wants to get rid of NYC to build expand their sick empire. Well Hybrid, I got a surprise for you. I’m one bad son of a bitch and this “janitor” will expose you for your sins! Little does Hybrid know that I’m more than a janitor at IS 302.
Well this SOB is going to get the truth out one way or another and I will make sure even the president of the Tribune pays for taking bribes from Hybrid. I know damn well Hybrid paid the Tribune to cover up the story! Is it no wonder why I was suspended for a week for no reason? I’ll go and take this to Angel as he was the one who exposed Hybrid for who they really are. However, I know my life is in danger once the Tribune finds out that I’m probing on their dishonestly. Not to mention, I will be public enemy number one to Hybrid once they find out I’m probing around.
The only reason I worry about going to Angel is because I don’t want to put Maria in any danger. She was such a sweetheart in Junior High and she’s only the wife of Angel. However, if I don’t come out with the truth she will be in danger anyway. Maybe I could do it in secret without Maria knowing.
I know the truth because I seen Hybrid men working in Highland Park walking around building something. I got a suspicion they are building another laboratory from right under our noses. I interviewed Chief Irons and knew he was a good for nothing son of a bitch, deceitful at best. It’s a shame that I have to hide the fact I’m the GM of the Tribune from everybody just to please my deceitful bosses.
I know it might cost me my life, but I have to reveal the truth!
P.S. – When I get the chance I will leave my trusty Colt Python Magnum to my other love, Maria. You were my favorite student and I think you will make better use of the gun than this washed up old man.
By: George T. Fisher
The rest of the packet is simply a detailed outline of George’s findings. Maria is shocked by what she just read what was written by the man she remember as her Junior High School janitor.
September 10, 2013
“I was in complete shock by what I just read by George. I never suspected that he was the GM of the newspaper of my hometown. It seems he knew too much for h
is good and he was willing to protect me. He seems to believe that Hybrid does indeed have a secret hiding in the park, one that could lead to what Danny was saying about Nicolai and his intentions.
After reading what I just read, my thoughts about George changed completely. It seems George was indeed a very influential man, one that could put Hybrid out of commission and one that could have prevented this from happening. It kind of makes sense why that monster went after George and now I know why Hybrid wanted to make sure George was dead.
True, there was no way I could take the whole packet with me. However, maybe I could take the page I read and keep it in my possession. If only George knew that I could defend myself sooner and knew that I was born to take danger by the horns.
George, I will never forget you. Besides Angel, I love you as well, may you rest in peace…
Maria is determined to look inside of the president’s office. So she heads back to pick the lock on the door. She’s able to pick the lock and enter the room. When she enters the room, she sees a picture of the president of the tabloid paper with Nicolai.
“What the hell? What is the president doing with Nicolai? I don’t think this meeting was about the HBCS coming to protect my hometown. I’m starting to have serious doubts about Nicolai’s integrity, looks like he’s in on this. As the plot thickens as they say.” She says as she sees more incriminating evidence of Hybrid’s plot with the newspaper organization.
She spots a couple items on the president’s desk.
Picked up a jar of Gunpowder A
Picked up Hybrid Keycard A. The card reads Park Gate Keycard
As Maria suspected the gate keycard system is a product of Hybrid Corp. Before she could continue to think, she hears the sound of Nemesis again. She heads back downstairs and sees Nemesis break through the window.
Realizing the room is not big enough to fight Nemesis, Maria jumps out of the window as Nemesis tries to attack her with its tentacles. She ends up back outside and heads towards the gate to open it. However, Nemesis is right behind her and strikes her from behind.
