Pierre says, “I feel badly my daughter that you could not join in the festivities with the rest of us.”

Cheri says, “That’s ok Papa, I’m pregnant and I would not think of drinking, as I have me and Richard’s second child inside of me.”

“I keep forgetting my daughter,” Pierre says, “forgive me.”

“There’s nothing to forgive Papa.” Cheri says, “We all had a good time remembering our dear friends tonight. We’ll drop you off at Marie’s, then we’ll pick up Megan and head for home.”

Pierre says, “Thank you daughter for taking me to

  Marie’s.”

Cheri says, “Well the last thing you need is to get stopped for DUI Papa. Especially on this night.

Boo and Isabella would not have been happy if we were to let you drive home in your condition. And Richard is certainly in no condition to drive.”

Cheri continues to say smiling, “Besides Marie was nice enough to keep Megan for us. So it worked out well for all concerned.”

Looking in the rear view mirror Cheri sees Pierre is sound asleep, as Richard snores away in the passenger seat next to her.

Cheri pulls into Marie’s driveway, parking the van she gets out and walks Pierre up to the door. Opening the front door Marie greets Cheri and Pierre. “I’m afraid Papa is not in very good shape,” Cheri says laughing, “I’d put him right to bed Marie.”

Marie says, “I was expecting that, I mean after all he was celebrating the lives of his friends. So I understand completely. And as for your little one, she’s asleep on the sofa. We were watching TV together.” she says, “and bless her heart she fell fast asleep.”

Cheri smiles and says, “Thanks again Marie for watching her for us tonight.”

Marie says, “It was my pleasure, anytime as she is an angel, no trouble at all.”

“Good night,” Cheri says as she carries Megan out to the van.

“Good night,” Marie says, as she closes the door.

Cheri fastens Megan into her booster seat closing the side door on the van she walks around climbing into the driver’s seat, Richard still sound asleep. Cheri backs out of Marie’s driveway and heads down the road towards home.

Meanwhile across town a woman is out walking her dog, when suddenly she is attacked and torn apart by what could only be described as a man beast. Her dog squeals and runs off down the road as the beast feeds on the flesh of his fresh prey.

The Master wolf drags his prey off the beaten path into

seclusion where he can feed undisturbed by witnesses. When he has finished his meal, he lets out a mournful howl, the

neighborhood dogs in turn let out mournful howls in unison, as the full moon shines brightly over the tree tops. The killing spree has begun once more in New Orleans.

The next morning Richard awakes with the sounds of

drums going off in his head. Cheri opens her eyes and says, “Good morning darling.”

“How much did I have to drink last night?” Richard asks while holding his head.

Cheri says, “Do you really want to know?”

“Not really.” Richard says as he sets up in bed reaching for the aspirin bottle setting on the bedside stand. Gulping down a couple with a glass of water he asks, “How did the wake go last night, I don’t remember much?” Richard says.

“Oh,” Cheri says, “you and Papa were the life of the party, first you’d sing horrific songs, then you’d both cry a

little, then start singing again. I think the whole town showed up, everyone knew Isabella and Boo that’s for sure. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Their burial is today at ten am, so you better get a shower my love,” Cheri says, “I’ll put a pot of coffee on while your in the shower.”

Richard says, “Both of those sound really good,” as he

slowly walks towards the bathroom closing the door behind him.

Cheri heads into the kitchen pouring the water into the

coffee maker, she places a filter and a scoop of fresh Folgers

coffee grounds in and clicks on the coffee maker. As the coffee

begins to brew she reaches over and turns on the portable TV, the news is on as she listens to an updated news bulletin.

“This just in, the mutilated remains of an elderly lady were found in a wooded area of town last night, the police are not issuing any statements at this time pending notification of family. Update on news at eleven pm tonight, tune in for further details of Last night’s bazaar murder in New Orleans.”

“Oh my God!” Cheri says, “I wonder what happened to

  that poor lady?”

Richard walks in drying off his hair, wearing his pajama bottoms and bath robe. Richard asks, “Who are you talking to honey?” Looking around finding no one present but Cheri.

“Oh,” Cheri says, “I was just commenting out loud, there was a news flash about an elderly lady found mutilated last night in a wooded area of town, details they say are pending until family can be notified.”

“Oh my gosh,” Richard says, “anyone we know.”

“They haven’t released the name of the lady yet. But they said there would be updates tonight at eleven pm on channel nine.”

“We’ll want to stay up for that.” Richard says.

Cheri says, “Yes, I just feel so bad for that family, can you imagine what a shock that will be to them.”

Richard says, “The way it was for us when we received the news about poor Isabella and Boo having that car accident.”

“Don’t remind me.” Cheri says, “So are you ready for

some breakfast and a cup of fresh coffee?”

Richard says, “You bet! Can I help you with that

  sweetheart?”

“No,” Cheri says, “you set down I’ll get it for you. Then when we finish we better get dressed for the funeral, there’s not going to be a need for pawl bearers, as they were cremated remember?”

“Oh yes, that’s right,” Richard says, “boy this is going to be a rough day isn’t it honey?”

Cheri says, “Yes, I just hope I can keep it together for

Megan’s sake, this is going to be upsetting enough for her already without seeing me fall apart.”

Richard says, “Sweetheart I wouldn’t worry about it,

Megan understands, besides remember what she said about Boo and Isabella being angels and having their wings now.”

Cheri smiles and says, “Bless her heart, she has taken it

well hasn’t she, better than I expected. She’s daddy’s big girl

that’s for sure, I’m so proud of her.”

“Me too,” Richard says kissing Cheri on the back of the

neck as he sets down at the table.

Cheri brings their plates over and then returns for their coffee cups. Richard says, “Man that smells good honey.”

“Enjoy,” Cheri says, “then we’re going to have to hurry and get ready, I still have to get Megan up and get her showered and dressed.”

Meanwhile outside across the street the dean of the

university stands watching Richard’s house. Smiling the dean

turns and walks away saying, “Soon old buddy your ass will

belong to the Dark Lord.” As he disappears around the corner.

Across town at Marie’s house her and Pierre are finishing breakfast as Tinker and Yank knock on their door. Marie opens the door, seeing Yank and Tinker she smiles and says, “Hello boys, come on in.”

“Hey Marie.” Tinker and Yank say as they enter the living room.

“Have a seat boys; would you like some fresh coffee?”

  Marie asks.

“That sounds great Marie thank you.” Tinker and Yank

take a seat on the sofa, as Marie brings their coffee to them.

Pierre, Marie, and the boys sit drinking their coffee. Tinker asks Marie and Pierre if they heard the morning news about that poor lady that was mauled in a wooded area close to here?

  “Oh my goodness.” M
arie asks, “have they caught the

  person who’s responsible?”

“No,” Tinker says, “They are thinking it was done by

animals, they are still investigating. They are thinking it was done by several canines, judging from the amount of damage done, and the number of bites on the victim’s body.”

“They are suspecting a pack of wild dogs possibly. Oh

how terrible for that poor lady. Her family must have been

  devastated.” Marie says.

Marie looks up at the clock and says, “Oh my, look at the time we better get going we’re going to be late

  for the funeral service.”

Yank says, “Since they were cremated, it’s a grave side

  service only.”

“Well,” Tinker says, “we better get going.” Pierre, Marie, Tinker and Yank head out the door and head for their car.

Yank says, “Pierre, you and Marie can ride with us in our car.”

  “Thank you.” Marie says.

Meanwhile back at Richard and Cheri’s house, Cheri,

Megan and Richard are climbing into their van. After fastening

Megan in, they back out of the garage and pulling out onto the road they head for the cemetery.

Soon they all arrive at the cemetery and make their way to the burial vault. Soon everyone stands before the vault as the

priest gives a short message and last rites. Then as the service

comes to a close everyone slowly heads back to their vehicles and slowly pull out onto the road and head back to their homes.

As Cheri and Richard head back home Cheri says, “The

priest performed a wonderful service, very nicely done.”

Richard says, “He certainly did. It’s still hard to believe

they are really gone. I tell you I lose count of the times Isabella

has saved my ass! I only wish I could have been there to save her and Boo’s.”

Cheri says, “Honey car accidents happen everyday, there’s no way you could have prevented it, it was just a tragic accident.”

Richard says, “Sometimes I wonder if it really was an

accident. Isabella had made some enemies herself, no thanks to

  me.”

Cheri says, “You have to put that idea out of your head

sweetheart, you were not responsible for Boo and Isabella’s deaths. It was a fatal automobile accident nothing more.”

Richard says, “I know what you’re saying is true, it’s just that so much has happened over the years, and I can’t help but think evil is still all around us!”

“That’s because it is Richard,” Cheri says, “its called life, and we all know life can be hard and cold at times. The scales are not always balanced the way we’d like them to be. People die everyday, often from natural causes, a lot of the times from tragic accidents. The trick is to not give up and throw in the towel.”

Richard smiles at Cheri and says, “What would I ever do without you sweetheart?”

“Hopefully,” Cheri says, “you’ll never have to find that

out.” Looking up she says, “We’re home,” as she pulls into their drive and into the garage.

Shutting off the van her and Richard get out, opening the side door of the van Richard reaches in and lifts Megan out of her booster seat and carries her to the door. Cheri unlocks the door and holds it open for Richard, as he carries Megan up to her room and tucks her in bed. Coming downstairs Richard joins Cheri as they head for their bedroom.

Across the street stands the dean of the university Robert Johnson, the new master werewolf in human form. He peers up at the remaining light that’s still on in the house until it finally goes out as well.

The house, now in total darkness with the exception of

a small night light in Megan’s room is an invitation for the dean to make his move.

Slowly he walks across the street walking up into Richard and Cheri’s yard, suddenly a sensor spotlight kicks on lighting up the front yard and exposing the dean. He quickly takes cover in some hedges growing next to the house.

As the bedroom light down stairs comes on, Richard peers out the window seeing no sign of any one or animals in the yard, turns and heads back to bed. “Didn’t see anyone out there,” Richard says.

Cheri says, “It was probably just a cat or a dog running

through the yard. Go back to sleep honey.”

Soon Cheri and Richard are sound asleep after a sorrowful day. Seeing two of their best friends being entombed in their final resting place was a hard thing to witness. Death of a loved one or close friend always seems to leave a void in ones life that forever remains.

The dean now slowly moves to the back of the house where another sensor light comes on exposing him once more. Darting behind the house taking cover behind another row of hedges, he kneels down and waits.

Once more the light down stairs comes on and Richard

getting up tells Cheri, “I’ll be right back, I’m going to go check

outside see if we have a prowler sneaking around. If I’m not

back in a about fifteen minutes, call the police have them send a squad car over.”

“Ok,” Cheri says, “I still think you are over reacting honey, it’s probably just a cat or dog in the yard.”

“You’re probably right,” Richard says, “but just to be on the safe side I’m going to check.”

“Ok,” Cheri says, “I’ll wait up for you.”

“I shouldn’t be long,” Richard says, “I’ll just have a quick look around outside.”

As he slips on his robe and house slippers. Richard walks out the front door, as he does the front sensor light

responds lighting up the front yard.

Looking around Richard makes his way around the house to the back yard. The dean, kneeling behind the hedge row, touches the wolf strap around his waist and quietly recites an ancient invocation.

As Richard makes his way around the back yard, the dean’s transformation begins taking effect.

Soon the dean lets out a horrific howl and leaps from the hedge row, catching Richard off guard knocking him to the ground, as the dean bites down on Richard’s right shoulder.

Richard lets out a scream, as blood starts running down his back and chest as his body goes limp.

The Master werewolf hearing the neighborhood dogs

howling crying out in fear, as houses lights come on up and down the neighborhood, he stands and takes off running through the neighbor’s yards and disappears into the night.

  CHAPTER SIX

Cheri, having heard the commotion, comes running out of the house screaming for Richard, then she hears him calling to her.

“I’m around back sweetheart.” Cheri hearing him runs

around to the back yard finding Richard slowly getting up, his

  shoulder bleeding badly.

“Oh my God Richard! What on earth attacked you?”

Richard looks up at Cheri and says, “Honey I’m afraid it’s happening all over again. Lucifer has a new Master werewolf, and it just attacked and bit me.”

“My God Richard that looks terrible I have to get you to the hospital.” She says.

Richard says, “No sweetheart just help me back into the

house, quickly before the neighbors see me like this, they’ll be

calling the police for sure. I just need to get some disinfectant on this bite and bandage it up, as it will be completely healed by morning. I’ve been through this more then once.”

Cheri says, “Are you sure sweetheart?”

Richard says, “Trust me; my shoulder will be completely healed by morning, as if I’d never been bit. Then I’ve got the problem of finding out who this Master werewolf is, and kill him before the next full moon.”

They make their way back into the house, as a squad car slowly makes its way down the street, spot light checking out the neighboring yards.

  Richard looking out the kitchen
window says, “Someone heard the commotion and called the cops, they are out patrolling the street now.”

“What will happen if you don’t locate this Master

werewolf before the next full moon?” Cheri asks, with a worried look on her face.

Richard says, “I’ll turn into one of those beast and it won’t be safe for you and Megan to be around me. As I’ll have no control over my transformation and I could attack and kill both of you.” Richard pours antiseptic over his bite, cringing he says, “I’ll move back to the cabin in the swamp before I’ll let that happen.”

Cheri says, “Maybe Tinker, Yank, and Pierre can help us,” as she bandages Richards shoulder. “That should take care of it sweetie.”

Richard says, “Hell it’ll be good as new by morning, let’s head back to bed.”

As they climb back into bed Richard says, “I hate involving them as they’ll be putting themselves in harms way.

Let me try to handle this alone first,” Richard continues, “then if time is running short I promise I’ll ask them for assistance then, but only then! The main thing I want right now is to keep you and Megan safe, until I can identify this Master werewolf and destroy him. This is Lucifer’s handiwork you can bet on that. He’s still out to seek vengeance on me. But for now let’s get back to sleep; morning will be here before you know it.”

“Goodnight sweetheart.” Cheri says as she cuddles up next to Richard. Soon they are back to sleep once more.

Meanwhile the dean meets with Lucifer. Lucifer says,

“Well tell me have you taken care of Richard?”

“Just as you instructed Dark Lord, I left my mark on him this night, next full moon he will transform into the very thing he despises.” The dean says smiling.

“Wonderful,” Lucifer says, “not exactly the plan I had in mind, but in the long run it still accomplishes what I wanted done. He is still cursed to walk the earth stalking human flesh

every full moon, for the rest of his worthless life. And soon he’ll hunt his own family down and kill them as well!” “Then,”
