Lucifer continues, “I will have my vengeance at last. When he drains the life blood from his wife and daughter, as well as his unborn child. Then I’ll turn him over to you, to do as you will with him.”

The dean says, “I’ll stick his head on a pole down on

Bourbon Street for all the world to see.”

“Oh yes,” Lucifer says smiling, “that should liven up the festivities on the streets of New Orleans nicely. Then you shall be free to terrorize the citizens of New Orleans, and wreak havoc where ever you go. For all eternity!”

“Sounds like a scream fest to me,” the dean says. “I’ll give the citizens of New Orleans a new form of education then,” as an evil grin spreads across his face. “After all, the mind is a terrible thing to waste, it’s better served hot on a platter.”

Having said that, both the dean and Lucifer break out in

demonic laughter, echoing throughout Lucifer’s secret hideaway.

“I like you dean!” Lucifer says, “I think we’re going to get along just fine.”

Richard awakes the next morning to find Cheri leaning

over him. Cheri says, “You were right darling.”

  “Right about what?” Richard asks.

Cheri, looking a bit shocked says, “You don’t remember last night?”

“What about it? The wake you mean?” Richard asks.

“No that was the night before silly,” Cheri says, “well then do you at least remember the funeral service?”

“What funeral service, who died?” Richard asks.

“O God Richard,” Cheri says, “you’ve lost your memory. What do you remember last?”

Smiling Richard says, “I remember how much I love you my Cajun beauty.”

“Oh thank God, for a minute,” Cheri says, “I didn’t know if you knew who I was or not.”

“How could I forget you Susie,” Richard says. Cheri’s

eyes open wide, Richard laughs and says, “Gotcha!”

“Oh mister you are going to get it,” as she slugs him in the arm.

  “Ouch,” Richard says, “that hurt.”

“Oh and by the way,” Cheri says, “your bite is completely healed.”

  “What bite?” Richard asks.

“Richard,” Cheri says, “last night you were viciously

attacked by a werewolf, you don’t remember that?”

“It’s all kind of fuzzy,” he says.

“So was the werewolf,” she says.

  “Funny, real funny,” Richard says.

“I’m sorry,” Cheri says, “I’m just trying to lighten the

  moment a little.”

Richard says, “I heard there’s been more mutilations on the news as well. Sounds like our new Master werewolf is building his new wolf pact. Some he will feed on, the others he’ll turn and build up his pack of servant werewolves. But those he’ll only be able to use when the moon turns full. Otherwise they’ll just have normal human strength till then.”

Cheri says, “So what do we do now?”

Richard says, “First thing I need to do is check in at the

university see if I can have a sub fill in for me for awhile, take

some vacation days till I locate and get rid of this new threat. As once I transform the first time, I’ll be under The Master werewolf’s control then. And a danger to you and Megan, as well as my friends or anyone else that comes into contact with me. I think its best I stay at the old cabin till this is over one way or another.” Richard says.

Cheri says, “I hate the thought of you staying out there all by yourself at that cabin. What if they come for you?”

Richard says, “I have my 9mm and silver bullets. I guess I better see if Tinker and Yank will help me out or at least keep me company. I’d feel safer if you and Megan stayed at Marie’s and Pierre’s till this is over.”

“Ok,” Cheri says, “I’ll get some overnight bags packed for me and Megan while you’re at the university, then you can drop us off on the way to the docks.”

“Sounds good,” Richard says, “I’ll be back,” he says

kissing her and then heads out the door to his Jeep.

Backing out of the driveway he heads for the university. It isn’t long before Richard is pulling into the university parking lot. Parking his Jeep he gets out and runs inside to the administrator’s office. The secretary looks up and says, “Hello Richard, have you heard from the dean lately?”

“No,” Richard says, “in fact I was hoping to see if he was in as I need some time off really bad, an emergency has come up.”

“Well,” the secretary says, “the dean has just up and

disappeared, haven’t had as much as a phone call from him, we

have no idea what’s going on with him.”

Richard says, “Well I need you then to arrange for a

substitute to fill in for me as I need about two weeks off for

vacation, as I’ve said I have an emergency situation that’s come up unexpectedly.”

“I’ll call Mrs. Ruby and give her the news,” the secretary says, “she’s been needing some extra hours, she’ll be glad to do it.”

Richard says, “Be sure to let my students know to go easy on her, the poor thing is getting on in years and can’t handle being scared, or having any pranks pulled on her. Tell them I’m serious!”

The secretary smiles and says, “Ok Richard, I’ll call them in the office and give them a talking to.”

“Thank you,” Richard says, “they have a habit of being

rough on substitute teachers. It’s just meant to be harmless fun,

but at her age it could kill her or cause her to stroke out. The

university doesn’t need that type of negative publicity. I’ll see you in two weeks, take care.” Richard says.

“I hope everything works out ok,” the secretary says,

  “nothing major I mean.”

“Thank you!” Richard says, as he heads out the door too his Jeep. Climbing in he pulls away down the street towards home.

Soon after, he pulls into his driveway as Cheri is walking out to the van with Megan. He gets out of his Jeep and asks, “Do you have everything you need sweetheart?”

  Cheri says, “We should have.”

Richard says, “I’ll follow you over to Marie’s place.”

Cheri buckles Megan into her booster seat sliding the side door on the van shut; she walks over and gives Richard a kiss. “See you there.” Cheri says, as she slides into the drivers

  seat starting the van.

Richard gets into his jeep and backs out onto the road

waiting for Cheri to back out. She heads down the road as Richard follows her van.

Soon after they both pull up in front of Marie’s house, shutting off their engines they climb out.

Richard walks Megan and Cheri up to the front door

giving them both a kiss, he says, “Hopefully this will be over

  soon.”

  “I hope so!” Cheri says.

“Bye daddy,” Megan says, “have fun on your hunting trip with Uncle Tinker and uncle Yank.”

“I will honey,” Richard says, “take care of mommy for

  me.”

  Megan says, “Ok daddy.”

Cheri waves at Richard blowing him a kiss, Richard turns and walks back to his Jeep, sliding behind the steering wheel he starts the engine and slowly pulls away down the street heading for the docks.

Meanwhile at the docks Tinker and Yank wait for Richard. Tinker says, “I hope for Richard’s sake we can locate this new Master werewolf.”

“Me too,” Yank says, “he hasn’t much time as the moon will be full in seven days.”

“That doesn’t give us much time,” Tinker says, “especially when we’re not even sure who it is.”

“And you can bet he’ll have his pack running with him.” Yank says.

Back at Marie’s house Pierre is pacing the floor. “I can’t just stand here doing nothing
Pierre says, “I need to be out there helping Richard and the boys!”

“Yes but Papa, Richard asks that you stay with us in case the beast comes here.” Cheri says.

“I know,” Pierre says, “I’m just torn between helping them, but at the same time I know I need to be here for you, Megan, and Marie.”

Cheri says, “Do you still have the 9mm Richard gave you with the silver rounds?”

“Yes my daughter, it’s in a safe place.”

“Good,” Cheri says, “you may want to grab it as it’s getting late and your sensor light at the front of the house just came on.”

Marie says, “I’ll take Megan up stairs. I’ll get my cards out and see if they reveal anything.”

“Good idea,” Cheri says, “you may want to grab your silver cutlery while you’re at it just in case, we may need it!”

Marie says, “I’ll have them upstairs just in case.”

Pierre steps into the den, opening a desk drawer he pulls out the 9mm and loads it placing the safety on.

Suddenly they hear something or someone step onto the front porch, the sound of shattering glass as the sensor light goes out. Cheri calls out to Pierre, “It’s on the porch!”

Pierre shouts back, “I know! It just took out the sensor

  bulb,” Pierre says.

Marie yells down from up stairs, “Something just climbed onto the roof.”

Marie says, “Sounds like it’s in the attic, there’s a window up there!”

Pierre yells at Cheri, “Daughter you go help Marie! I’ll

stay down here; keep an eye on the downstairs.”

“Ok Papa,” Cheri says as she heads up stairs. “I’m calling the police; maybe their sirens will scare them away.”

  “Good idea,” Pierre says.

Cheri reaches the top of the stairs and calls 911, she reports

that someone is breaking into her house. “Come quickly,” Cheri says and hangs up the phone.

She yells at Pierre from upstairs, “They are sending over a unit.”

“Good,” Pierre says, “as one of them is in the kitchen.”

Cheri yells down, “Papa please be careful!”

  “You too daughter.”

Marie screams, “Cheri! It’s in the room with us hurry!”

Cheri hears a horrific growl, and runs into the room. Marie

screams, “It took Megan and went out the window over there!”

Cheri runs to the broken window, the curtains blowing from the night air entering the room. Looking out into the night she sees no sign of the beast or Megan.

Pierre yells, “I think they’ve gone. I can hear sirens getting closer, that’s probably what scared them off.”

Cheri yells down, “Papa they have Megan!”

“Oh no,” Pierre says, “I’m calling Richard and the boys! What do I tell the police?”

As Cheri and Marie come down the stairs Cheri says, “Just tell them they broke in but you scared them away with your pistol. Then tell them they were wearing masks so you couldn’t get a description.”

Marie says, “You two talk to the police, I’ll go in the other room and call Richard and the boys.”

Meanwhile back at Lucifer’s hideaway, The Master werewolf transforms back into the dean as he stands before Lucifer with Megan unconscious over his shoulder.

“Excellent,” Lucifer says, “you have his daughter. Now we can set our trap!”

“But Dark Lord,” the dean says, “how will Richard find

  us?”

“Have no fear,” Lucifer says, “the Cajun girl’s father has a girlfriend that has some abilities,” Lucifer says. “She’s not as gifted as the red head Isabella was, but never the less, she’ll be able to help them locate us. All we have to do is wait for them to come to us. Besides we can always leave a few bread crumbs as it were to help lead them to us.”

The dean says, “It will be six more days before the moon is full though.”

Lucifer says, “That doesn‘t matter, as once we have them in our midst, we can over power them, and then hold them captive till the full moon. Then we’ll let them run and hunt them down and feed on their flesh. Which also works in our favor as your pack members will be able to transform giving us more in number and strength,” Lucifer says.

Back at Marie’s, she has just given the news to Richard and the boys. Richard says, “This changes things, they have Megan. They’re probably going to use her as bait to get to me.”

Marie asks, “What do you want us to do now?”

Richard says, “I don’t know why I didn’t think of it

yesterday when I was at the university. The secretary asked me if I’d seen the dean recently, as he had just up and disappeared. She said they haven’t been able to reach him by phone either.”

Richard continues, “I should have realized that something happened to him, as he graded my papers, and he had my briefcase in his office. It makes me wonder if he didn’t walk into a trap set for me. And Lucifer probably had placed a spell on the spell book, and when the dean came across it by accident, the dean was placed under its spell.”

Marie speaks up and says, “You are exactly right! I did a reading and it basically said that someone had prevented you from coming into harms way. I bet that was your dean at the university. Didn’t you say he graded your papers for you?”

Richard says, “Yes, he had done it as a favor for me. But something must have went wrong.”

Marie says, “There must have been something hidden in those papers he signed off on. And I have a pretty good idea

that’s what happened to the spell book. Some how it ended up at the university, as you said meant for you to find, but instead the dean found it instead.”

Richard says, “If Lucifer had his contract hidden within

those test papers to grade meaning for me to sign but instead the dean signed off on them. Chances are the dean signed a pact with Lucifer unknowingly hidden within those test papers. But then having read the contract was enticed by the powers he could obtain from the Wolf strap, and having stumbled across the spell book placed where it could easily be found most likely sealed the spell.”

Marie says, “I also have a pretty good idea where they’re holding Megan. It’s in a secluded wooded area north of town. I’ve been getting these visions.”

Richard says, “I have a pretty good idea where too, so let’s go!”

“Richard,” Marie says, “that’s exactly what they are hoping you’ll do. They have baited the trap for you, and Megan is the bait. So we’ll have to proceed with great caution from here on out.”

“Well at least,” Richard says, “we have a pretty good idea who Lucifer’s new Master werewolf is now! If we can locate him and take him down, the others will transform back to their human form, and the spell over them will be broken as well. They’re probably using the old brotherhood compound.

Pierre let’s get to your boat; we have a little bit of a journey before us. Do you remember the way?”

Pierre says, “How could I forget, it’s one of my tourist

attractions. But it’s been vacated now for years!”

“Not anymore,” Richard says, “I’m betting it has new

  tenants now.”

Meanwhile at the old brotherhood compound, Lucifer and the dean are conversing. Lucifer inquires, “Have your pact

members dug the pit as I’ve instructed?”

“Yes my Dark Lord, the trap is set, now we just need to

  lead them into it.”

Lucifer says, “That’s where Mr. Devine’s daughter comes in, we’ll stake her out on the opposite side of the pit, when they close in for her, most if not all of them will fall into the trap. You have hidden it well I trust?”

“Yes dark Lord, they won’t know it’s there until it’s too

  late.”

Smiling Lucifer says, “Excellent! Now we just need to set up sentry’s to alert us when they approach. But tell your men to stay out of sight
at all costs.”

“Yes Dark Lord, I hear and obey,” the dean says.

Back at the docks, Pierre, Richard, Yank, Tinker, Cheri and Marie set out in Pierre’s boat for the old brotherhood compound.

  CHAPTER SEVEN

Tinker asks, “Richard, are you sure they’re at the old compound?”

Richard says, “It’s the most logical place, it’s secluded and hardly no one knows of it, and as you know it’s ready for use. As well as out buildings which can be used for captives.”

“Well, you can bet they’ll be waiting for us,” Yank says.

Pierre says, “Break out the lanterns boys, we’re going to need them, place one aft and one starboard, it’s getting dark.

Hours pass and they are deep in the swamp approaching the area where they’ll tie off and go the rest of the way on foot.

Richard says, “Ladies, when we tie off, Me, Pierre, Tinker and

Yank will go on foot to the compound; you remain back here on the boat and be ready, as when we return we’ll probably need to leave in a hurry!”

Yank says, “We’ll leave you girls a couple of the 9mm

pistols with silver rounds. Me and Tinker have our crossbows with silver tip arrows, Pierre and Richard have machetes. That way we can take them out quietly, hopefully without being discovered. We’ll cover Pierre and Richard once we find out where they’re holding Megan. Then Pierre and Richard can move in for Megan while me and Tinker stand guard with the crossbows.”

“Sounds like a plan,” Tinker says.

Richard says, “The deans name is Robert Johnson, if the Master werewolf comes at us, call out that name; if the

dean is the Master werewolf his human form will be exposed long enough to know it’s him for sure. We take him down, then the others as well as myself will be freed from the curse; and the spell over all of us will be broken.”

“Sounds good,” Pierre says, “let’s go get my

granddaughter.” Pierre, Richard, and the boys set out for the

  compound.

Meanwhile back at the compound, the dean instructs his

men to secure Megan to the pole. The dean then instructs them to make sure the pit is well hidden.
